Terrible product quality and mediocre customer service! I had purchased a laptop from best buy a few months ago. The computer had issues ever since I had it opened up and running. Could not find wifi signals, could not update like it should through Windows, could not run HP update, etc. I had to contact Windows customer service in order to find out how to download and update the computer myself. That worked only one time and only once. Also had to manually discover wifi signal myself and enter the signal name and password every time. Once I had the time to bring the computer in and have it fixed and running properly, it was outside of the deadline. They wanted to charge me over 200 dollars to get the computer working the way it should have since day one. The guy in geek squad had taken a look and seen that it was way out of date on Windows 10 OS and never had an HP update. I explained that the computer had been that way since I had bought it from best buy. I asked to talk to the manager and the only thing he wanted to was knock 50 dollars off the $200+ fee I was going to be charged. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING! They won't even stand behind their own products even though they could both tell that the computer was dysfunctional since the day I received it. The repair should have been free since the proof was staring right at THEM! We are record collectors and while trying to find a keyboard for my tablet which was futile, lol, shelves empty. I definitely can see the market change for Best Buy. We found some cool records for our collection. The one I chose was a Beastie Boys Sounds of Science. The plastic was torn on two corners and two areas of damage where the cover was exposed including a half inch dog earred corner. I asked for a small discount 10% maybe. I was met with confusion by the polite clerk. She asked the manager on duty, she said "No, since thee actual product isn't damaged, I can't give a discount." "If the record was damaged then yes". Let me inform Best Buy, the cover of a vinyl record IS AS important to the collector as the vinyl itself. It can make or break the asking price for a vinyl record. Some collectors have vinyl and are in search of the mint sleeve. If you want to sell vinyl records, know your product. Unprofessional to say that the actual vinyl is the product and not the cover sleeve. read more

I went to Best Buy to get help with purchasing a new workout watch. I have extremely small wrists and wanted to try on the watch before I purchased it. When I asked the customer service rep to try on the watch he stated em they don't allow that there but that he'd be happy to show me the Samsung watches he happened to be selling. I was looking at a Fitbit watch. This is such terrible customer service, this guy made no attempt other than to sell me HIS product to help me. I was ready to spend money but ended up walking out. I didn't have the amazing experience as another Yelp reviewer who found a camera lens costing $38,000 for only $24,000 but I feel like I received an acceptable deal. Sitting in the parking lot waiting for the store to open and a man in the car next to me was fumbling with something in the back of his car. I wasnt really paying attention, on my phone, of course. I noticed a employee from Best Buy walk out towards us, he asked the man in the car next to me if he needed any help. I talked to The Manager Brandon in the Geek Squad. Just to clarify he oversees that department, there is no one higher than him according to him. I bought an External Solid State Drive and I planned on using for an Xbox one. I needed to know how to install the data from the Xbox to the SSD. 1) He wouldn't let me complete my sentences and tried to override everything I said 2) He hung up on me after not listening to anything I said. 3) He wanted to charge me $200 and bring the system in. After I found out how to do it ( it literally took 1 min to get things started). Settings, System, Storage, done. That easy. Overpriced products then charge you to install simple software that literally takes a min. After Brandon hung up on me I contacted GameStop on Queensgate after a short conversation an associate explained professionally the easy way to transfer the data. read more

DO NOT SHOP AT BEST BUY!!!!! So has anyone been to the Best Buy in Kennewick and bought a product that didn't work?? Let me tell you. I have. Twice. My barely 2 year old TV that was worth $3000 died earlier this year just months past my protection plan. A plan I thought was 3 years long, later to find out its only 2 years. The best buy 2 year protection plan overlaps the 1 year warranty, it does not extend it. (Even though that's what the sales rep told me). They basically did nothing to help me except sell me a crappier TV worth much less than the original. This weekend I bought a laptop from them. They recommended a good deal on an open box one. Normally I don't buy open box, but they recommended it. I bought the best buy protection plan and geek squad protection (it's a good thing I did too!). We left it with geek squad overnight so they could "get Microsoft Office set up, and clean off all the trial programs." Today we received the new computer ready to open and use right? WRONG! We spent 2 hours trying to get it to work with no success. Finally when geek squad opened we took it over for them to look at. "Oh yeah, the Wi-Fi is faulty, it's never gonna work". Are you kidding me?!? You spent 8 hours working on it and didn't catch that??? And then to offer to sell me another open box computer in place?! NO THANK YOU!! My mom worked at Best Buy for 10 years in Salem and we just moved up to Kennewick so we though we would check out this store just to see what it was like. The one is salem was really big and had a ton of products but the sales people were ridiculous and customer service was horrible. WELL it's exactly the same at this store. But first this Best Buy is so much smaller and the store seriously looks so empty. When we walked in we couldn't believe how plain the store was and there was just not enough product in the store and the layout is really awkward. Hey everyone! Just want to dish out my two cents about GEEK SQUAD right here, in the Best Buy. Long story short? Don't go. Here's why... I made an appointment with Geeksquad via their website. When I arrived the next morning, and was put in front of a representative which was also the manager, I came to find out that they hadn't even bothered reading my long winded explanation I had sent along with my appointment inquiry. From their it just continued to spiral downhill. They had already proven their incompetence by not reading or paying attention to the appointments and explanative info provided that gave in depth detail into the issues that I was having with my pc and my gaming console. We first made an attempt to explain the issues We were having with the PS3. The manager listened to my explanation and was quick to just say that we need to purchase a new PS, without even making an attempt at looking into it or at the system for more than 5 seconds. I get it, he's in Best Buy, he's trying to sell his crap. The internet told me several solutions to my problem, like replacing the bluray laser, and power supply which apparently is beyond geek squads comprehension. Oh and on another note about this, he didn't know which version of the PS3 it was. It was the special edition, limited 64gb, reverse compatible, metal gear solid 4 release. He kept trying to say it was the first to ever be released... even though you explain which it is, he'll attempt to correct you and think he's correct when he is not. Now onto the PC. First of all... The Geek Squad manager had no idea what a heat-sync was. A heat-sync is a fan you mount into your processor to keep it functioning and running cool. He looked at the fan and exclaimed "what is THAT?" I thought computer repair people were supposed to be knowledgeable in computer hardware and software... or maybe I'm wrong? They're getting paid to be so called "geeks" but so far they're uneducated phonies. All in all, I'm extremely disappointed. I've never had an issue with the Geek Squad in Naperville IL area, not have I ever had a problem or refused service at Grand Rapids Geek Squad. I suggest you find other, more knowledgeable sources to utilize to fix your pc. Do research, try it yourself before you are conned into spending money at Best Buy. read more

great service, I bought a 23" lcd monitor which was on display for 10% discount and they even trow in for free an hdmi cable. Since it was a display they didnt gave me a box, manual and cables. just the hdmi went home hook it up to my ps3 and then I relies that I needed the vga cable for my pc. I went back to best buy and told them that my monitor didnt came with the vga cable, he didnt even ask for a receipt or anything and he just gave me the vga cable for free. (it was an used cable of course) Some times games are cheaper than other stores. even $20 cheaper. read more

I have gone to Best Buys in the Seattle area where the service is quick and the salespeople know their stuff. Unfortunately the few times I've shopped in the Kennewick store have been a different type of experience. Yesterday I went in to buy a tablet. I had been reading reviews for several weeks and knew what I wanted, but I wanted to try it out before purchasing. The model I wanted to buy was one on display. It was password protected, and it took me some time to find a salesperson who wasn't talking to a friend or co-worker to help. When I finally did get some help the salesperson tried to talk me into buying an ipad. I don't want an ipad. He criticized my selection, telling methe tablet I wanted was slow and would get viruses and the ipad is really the only tablet that's any good. He insisted that I don't really need the apps that I use every day. If I wanted to buy an Apple product I would go to an Apple store. I go to BB for the selection of other products. I ignored the Apple promotion and asked if they had the tablet I wanted in stock. Of course they didn't have it in stock. They didn't even offer to order it for me. I love this store because they always have a great selection and more often than not the employees are knowledgeable and friendly. I would give 5 stars if they had better training for all staff on the floor... they could focus more on the people they have working in their targeted departments and be sure to reconfigure the friendly but less knowledgeable staff to help customers in other areas. I reserved the final star because on any given occasion I expect to be able to be given a clear and concise answer to a technical (or even fairly basic) question and be confident in the fact that they know more than I do about a particular product. I frequent this location and have found that about 50% of the time I must answer my own questions via Google because the salesperson doesn't know the answer or is not confident enough in themselves to instill my confidence in their answers. It's a crapshoot whenever I visit and never know if I'm going to get all of the information that I would like. Still... I can't argue with a clean and presentable store with easy to find products and friendly staff members with a 'can do' and 'will do' attitude. They always make my visits pleasant and I rarely leave empty-handed. read more

The service we received at Best Buy was awesome! Because we are on a fixed income and I needed to replace my 5 year old IPad we chose a returned up-graded one. For 2 weeks it just would not charge but just a little so we took it back. We were given a brand new one at the same price, the Geek Squad spent all the time required to make sure every program I had was loaded at no charge. Avoid Geek Squad service protection plans LIKE THE PLAGUE! I am an Elite Plus Member at Best Buy. I used to love Best Buy and used to have pride in their brand. (not anymore) I don't usually buy protection for my things since I take care of my things well, however when I purchased an iPhone for my wife I knew she was a little more accident prone and the Best Buy customer service rep was very persuasive in getting the 2 year additional drops and spills protection plan, "We'll replace your phone absolutely free!" (I later learned this was untrue, there is something around a $200 "service fee" charge to replace your phone, but that's another story). I was fortunate to have purchased the protection because my wife spilled water on the phone over the summer and she was worried we would have to buy a completely new expensive phone to replace it, but I told her I bought the protection that covered that. Geek Squad sent us a replacement phone with a box to put the damaged phone in and a set of instructions to follow (turn "my iPhone feature" off being among them). Well, water had spilled on the phone and it wasn't turning on so I told my wife, "We'll just write a note saying the phone can't be turned on and that we followed the instructions the best we could." So I did that. A few days later I decided to follow up on the claim because I was very worried about the charges ($250 is a lot of money for a married with kids college student such as myself). I chatted with a Best Buy Agent and they told me that in fact the Find my iPhone feature was still on and I would get a charge in 30 days if I didn't turn that feature off. I explained we literally couldn't turn the phone on to disable that feature and he informed me that you could go online to your Apple iCloud account and turn it off that way so he walked me through the steps and I turned it off (This was still within the 30 day period given to customers to follow the Geek Squad instructions). Having successfully done my part I was feeling confident that everything was taken care of. Lo and Behold 30 days passed and I got an e-mail from Best Buy claiming that the "Find My iPhone feature is STILL turned on and that we are billing you $250." Immediately I knew someone at Best Buy did NOT do their job and did not follow up on working on the phone after their OWN service rep walked me through turning off the "Find My iPhone" feature on my iCoud account. Since then, every few days, I have been calling and talking to around 10 different customer service reps about disputing the charge. They NEVER followed up with me telling me my claim was denied (3 times). I was the one who had to keep calling back to find out that they denied my claims. I even spoke "supposedly" to a supervisor a number of times as well. (I believe whenever this happened that their reps were merely trying to "placate" me into getting off the phone.) After several unsuccessful attempts over weeks and weeks to solve this issues with Best Buy themselves I decided to contact Apple. With Apple I was immediately given a supervisor to help me with my issues, and she emailed me documentation showing that indeed the phone we sent in does NOT have the "Find My iPhone" feature enabled. It seems that Best Buy could give what-a-rat-sits-on about its "Elite Plus" Members, or any members for that matter. Their Geek Squad customer service reps have been no help whatsoever in my claim. It seems like all they need to do if you've bought their service protection is send you an e-mail that you didn't follow their instructions and they get to steal your money (and KEEP it). They should change their store name to "Worst Buy" and their slogan to "Expert Thievery. Unbeatable Fees." read more

Me and hubby got our lap top and desk top here a year and a half ago, for some reason both computers crashed at the same time... We tried fixing it by trying to download the recovery disc online but instead of helping us the 3rd computer was infected by a virus from the site so I called best buy and asked if they can check our computers for us and they said $ 400.00 just for them to look at the windows and if it needs recovery disc which I know we did we will need to order the disc from the manufacturer as Best Buy dont carry it. I end up calling the manufacturer which they refused to talk to me since its past the warranty so I went to their site and order the disc, Site said I will receive it in 3 days and its the 10th day already and no disc. I wonder if the manufacturer intentionally hide a virus in our computers and they programed it that it will come out at a certain time so customers will be forced to buy their disc or worst buy a new PC? Coz I cant figure out why both me and hubby's computer have the same problem. read more

After reading the reviews on this page I thought that I would write my own. Most people only take time out to write a review if they have had a bad experience. I have yet to experience bad at this Best Buy. I have been a customer of Best Buy for a very long time and have had no trouble at all finding what I need. However I go to the same employee everytime I go in there. There is a guy named OSO that has worked there for as long as I can remember. He has helped me with many things all over the store, Washer/Dryer, computer, laptops, portable DVD player, cameras, cell phones ect. He knows this stuff. I have shopped at many places before this and have never had the same experience. I am taking the time to write this review because last night my Step Dad and I were discussing purchasing a laptop for my mom. Her current computer is a Dinosaur. After talking to OSO he got us set up with the whole computer and all of the nessessary items and within our budget. I can't speak for the rest when I talk about my experience but I would recommed OSO to anyone that wants that "Cheers" type experience where you want to go back because you got what you needed and you didn't feel taken advantage of. Well bought a new phone thru them. It took 2 hrs. to buy and set up 2 phones. Girl could not primt put our return slip for old phones to be returned to ATT so went there no help and jad to go back again. Well we got the print outs. Had to go back to ATT to get some mistakes to our account fixed. Next our phones were lost in mail and went to best buy. Daniel helped by calling and told me best buy wanted to keep a customer happy so they would pay the owimg amount on old phones less than $50. Which never happened. They make promises they do not keep . I paid for phone's so i would not be charged fee of $500 Daniel said i would be charged if the pay off was not received. This review is for the BestBuy mobile inside the Columbia center mall. Perhaps the worse service I ever received anywhere. I'm not sure how an operations could run this bad from the manager down. I went in the early morning to see about switching providers due to the fact I couldn't receive signal at my work and I lost my phone. Had a young kid help me, who was very helpful and I could tell he was trying hard to help me. He was calling other people including the manager to get help. The manager arrived maybe 15 min later and was taking part in the sale answering questions ect. I left there with a price quote and a plan to return. I came back later that evening only to find out everything that was written down was wrong. The manager chris solution was and I quote "talked to your sales representative after you left and I wrote him up. Really you wrote a kid up cause you cant train him and you were standing right there. Why would you consult him after I leave instead when I was there. His other solution was to give me free screen protector and case value of about 70 dollars maybe, 20 dollars on amazon. Here what I was told I would get 4g for 40.00 instead of received 2g for 40.00 also I would receive 150 dollar gift card and half off my phone. I only got the half off my phone maybe I haven't received my first bill. Also was quoted 60.00 dollars a month and its 65.00 dollars a month times 24 months. I'm more mad at the manager who was standing right there the whole time and not doing anything and had no customers. read more

I own an apartment building in Kennewick. On Tuesday 9/11/18, I ordered a refrigerator for one of my apartments through the local kennewick best buy. They said they could deliver it on Saturday 9/15/18 between 8am-12pm. I usually order my appliances through Lowes or Home Depot, but because Best Buy could get the refrigerator quicker and the price was the same, I decided to purchase the refrigerator through Best Buy instead of having to wait a week through Home Depot or two weeks through Lowes. Well, today I received an automated call from Best Buy delivery service that they will not be delivering my appliance tomorrow and need to call to reschedule delivery sometime after Wednesay 9/19/18. I waited on hold for almost an hour, just to be disconnected. I called them back and waited on hold for a second time, finally got through to them, to have them tell me the earliest I can get my refrigerator is Friday 9/21/18. This is unexceptable. I am now on my way to Home Depot to order the refrigerator through them and then I will be going back to the local Kennewick Best Buy to cancel my order and get my refund. This was the first and last appliance order that I will be placing with Best Buy. I DO NOT RECOMMEND Best Buy as far as purchasing appliances unless you purchase an instore instock item. read more

WOW!! what a pathetic excuse for a business. I have nothing but problems when dealing with them. The last issue however, is what turned me off from best buy forever. I bought a new computer on the first of January, (I had already asked the salesmen if I can buy one of their shelf lap tops and get a discount), he said no because they have new ones in stock so they have to sell those first. I said OK, give me the new one. I get home with my "new" laptop, open it up, and try to log in. NOPE. Apparently someone named "victoria rodriguez" already made all the log in information, and I couldn't get in to my new lap top. It WAS USED. They put a used laptop in a new box and tried to pass it off as new. Now, you might say that was an accident. I looked online and THOUSANDS of people are having the same problem. Not only that, I went in to exchange this used computer for a new one which i should have gotten the first time. I also live 45 min away from best buy so I figured the managers would want to compensate a customer at least a little for making them waist two hour and a half round trips and countless hours of time. NOPE. All they would do is give me the product I should have gotten the first time. Ok, well I grabbed my now "new" laptop and decide to leave it at that. So I bring my new lap top back that they guaranteed me was new. Open it up, and the cursor will not move at all on the screen. The lap top was useless. Apparently it ALSO was already opened and played with and that caused it to lock the cursor somehow....This is the second time they have sold a used product as new to me. I went back in (really pissed off this time)....and THEY STILL DID NOTHING. All he would do is give me another of the same computer. needless to say I was not about to accept another "new" computer from them. The managers do not care to make it right and when we asked the manager about it, he had the AUDACITY to say that this was our fault for not noticing there was the "special" seal on the boxes. WHAT???? So, I'm suppose to not believe the employees when they bring me out a computer they say is new? The manager was trying to place the blame every where else.... Alex, Trent, and all the other managers at best buy....you guys are crooks!!! You've been reported to the better business bureau, also you have been reported to the Best buy HQ, and my wife and I are going to tell this story to everyone we can in tri cities. I went into the Kennewick Best Buy to find a case for my iphone 5s. There wasn't a big choice so I settled on the EXPENSIVE $54 Otter brand. Later I found a much less expensive case that works perfect. When I took the Otter case back to the store, I was informed the 15-day return deadline had passed. The clerk asked the store manager if I could still return the case. He was all "by the book" and would not issue a store credit. In my opinion, Best Buy's return policy is rigid, and they obviously value their policy more than keeping a customer. I will shop elsewhere from now on mainly because I don't feel they care about their customers. read more
