I like Best Buy, at least in theory: I'm a huge gadget geek, so how could I not? Unfortunately, despite the fact that this location is both relatively new and just down the street from my home, I come away disappointed almost every time I visit. The employees are slow. I mean, S. L. O. W. You ask a question, you get a vague nod, and if you're lucky, you'll see that blue shirt again in about forty-five minutes. One redeeming quality is that they'll adjust the in-store price if it's higher than their online price. I had the worst experience in my life as a customer in this store today. I bought an unlocked Samsung phone last week. I wanted to return the phone within 14 day return period, since I bought the same model phone through Verizon. When I approached the customer service representative, without asking who I was, or without asking for my receipt, he flatly said that they would not take the phone back. I asked for a reason and asked him to look at my receipt. He refused to see my receipts. He was very rude. I asked for his manager. When the manager arrived I asked him to expalin why I was being treated like that. Without explaining why they treat loyal customers unfairly and rudely, he asked me to leave the store. Worst customer service ever. I was in shock. I am an elite member and I have been very loyal custoomer since 2006 with high credit limit. After this mistreatment, I will close my account and take my business somewhere else. Amazon or next door Costco! read more

I was told when I purchased my phone that the Geek Squad protection plan "is better than Verizon's insurance because you don't have to send it off and wait for another to be shipped to you, your phone can be repaired locally and you have your same phone back in just a few hours." Now I've gotten so many versions of "what they meant" by that, I can't keep up. One of the excuses they actually gave me was that they meant I could take it to a local third party repair shop and get it repaired and returned the same day. That makes zero sense. Why the hell would I pay for monthly GS insurance if I could just take it to a third party repair shop and pay the exact same price I would pay without the insurance? GS apparently knows nothing about Best Buy and vice versa. GS told me to talk to the store manager about reducing or waiving the fee due to the (short- less than 3 months) length of time I'd had the phone, the incorrect information I'd been given, and the general runaround and poor customer service. When I went in, the manager told me I needed to talk to GS. When I told him GS told me to talk to him, he said they operate on different systems and BB doesn't even have the option to alter or override any GS fees, etc. The phone is fully operational, just has a series of spiderweb cracks across the screen. All I need is a new piece of glass on the front of the phone. If I want to drive 4.5 hours one way to the closest "local" BB that is authorized to service Samsung products, I can get the screen replaced for $59. Otherwise, I have to make an appointment to go in to a store just to pay $199 to send my phone off and maybe get a refurbished phone in its place. A phone that I already paid full price (at release) + $130 of insurance for. A phone that I can currently buy brand new for only $250 more than the service fee to replace it. My fault for believing the associates were telling me the truth. Lesson learned. I will never purchase another Geek Squad protection plan. read more

Purchased a G.E. refrigerator here black Friday. Best Buy subs out their delivery. Supposed to arrive 3 to 5 pm. Arrived 730 pm. Driver said they are not supposed to set up. My invoice says they are. Handles not connected. Not level. I told them I would not sign until I at least plugged it in. I called BB and left a voice mail with my number. Never heard back. Messaged them on facebook. Never heard back. Their Facebook page states " customer service is our first priority". Apparently humor is their first priority. Don't BB. Go to Lowes! read more

So I took my laptop to the Geek Squad here for repairs. They sent it off and said they would call within a couple of days with an estimate. It took a week for them to call. When they did, they told me what parts they were replacing and how much it would cost. I asked, "How much does EACH part cost?" "What exactly is the problem?" "Which part of the motherboard is malfunctioning?" "Why do you need to replace two parts when I only have one problem?" They could not give me answers to any of these questions. I spoke with four different people. Even Geek Squad employees have no way to contact the actual person at the service center who physically looked at my computer and knows what specifically is wrong with it. I am just in shock that there is literally no way for them to answer these very basic questions. Are there really enough customers who just bend over, no questions asked, for them to stay in business this way? Needless to say, we declined the repair and will never use them again. I went here to get my phone updated. I also wanted to check my phone bill and see if I could get a better plan. I had to wait about 30 minutes or so for someone to assist me because they didn't have a Sprint worker. When I finally got someone she did not seem very sure and she seemed more interested in trying to get my wife to update her phone. I secretly prayed in my head that she would not be screwing my account because I was not confident that she knew what she was doing. She was able to get it done so I guess I must have had some luck waiting for me somewhere. I think from now on I will just update my phone online. This is based on a call to them, mind you. Worst customer service. Rang like 30 times before someone picked up and quickly asked to put me on hold, then put me on hold without waiting for my answer. After awhile she picked up and I requested availability of an item. She had me on hold again to check this, but after a while the cheesy On-Hold-Music turned off and the call seemed to be in limbo. Called again, rang about 30 times, then got put on hold immediately, without my say on it. Hung up, called AGAIN, same girl picked up, asked for the SKU# and took forever to check. I can ask them where anything is and they just take you right to it. I went to purchase an updated phone. Nick, with Verizon, was great to work with, knowledgeable of the product(s), accessories and plans. He was patient with all of my questions. He assisted me with the new phone, helped pick out accessories within my budget and helped change my phone plan to better fit my family. The wait..... ugh! Last night my husband and I went to look at laptops. I get so sick of waiting at Best Buy for someone to help me, it's ridiculous! This is the second time I've gone to this Best Buy to purchase a laptop, and again I'm waiting over an hour for someone to come and help me. At least with the sprint store you write your name on a clipboard and they know who the next person on the list is. We had two people who came in after us who were given help before we were. This store is the worst store I have ever set foot in. After waiting for almost 45 for someone to actually pick up the phone I finally gave up and went into the store to have my laptop checked again after haveing it checked to many times to count in the past. Every time I bring it in they say they fix the problem and with in a couple of hours after bringing it home the same problem happens- it's so frustrating especially that Best Buy could care less, they already took my money so why would they care. It's no wonder they are struggling due to the rise of Amazon and E-commerce... The only advantage they have against that competition (human interaction) is pitiful. I run in for 1 item (which wasn't cheap btw), paid in cash, only to receive a faded, torn up, copper-colored bill as change. Ok, no big deal, right? I'll simply ask for a different one.... OH MY GOSH, you would have thought I just walked out of the store with a 70-inch flatscreen 4K TV before paying. The cashier, who was obviously not happy with my request, tells me "sorry I just closed my register, you'll have to go to Customer Service". For a dollar bill?!?! Ok, no big deal, I'm sure the people working at "Customer Service" are more suited to take care of me anyway.......... Ehhh, news flash: they weren't. After waiting 2 minutes to get the Customer Service Clerk's attention, I explained to her that I was instructed to make my way to her to exchange my tender. OMG, it's like I just walked out with another 70-inch tv. Displeased, she called for a manager over the headset. Like... Is there any empowerment at Best Buy?! Are these associates not allowed to make the customer happy, and is asking to exchange dollar bills as big of an inconvenience as they make it seem? Another big shocker, he wasn't happy with the request either... Rolling his eyes, he pulls out his billfold and hands me one of his own dollars. At this point, I'm laughing at how petty this situation has become. In the end, the Brick and Mortar stores that are going to survive in this day and age are the Harris Teeters and Chick-Fil-As that do whatever it takes to make the customer experience a good one... Not the stores where it takes 10 minutes and 3 different associates to simply give a customer a different dollar bill after handing him one a homeless person would probably refuse. It's no wonder BB's 5 year sales/revenue trend is down, and as much as I used to love walking into one of their stores instead of online shopping, this has opened my eyes as to why I'm one of the few left. read more

The Store "Director" called my mother a crook for bringing back my son's ipod that we could never get to work, come to find out it had been switched prior to us buying it. He refused to be of any help at all, He would not replace or refund the money spent...I will never shop at that best buy again. Best Buy - charged my Best Buy credit card for a yearly service charge fee without my agreement 43.09. It was around Christmas time so I paid the bill thinking I must have made a purchase. In January I looked at the statement to find out wasn't a purchase. I called them after being transferred 8 times I managed to revive a credit for 27.00. Then supposed to credit the rest with in a week and of course never happened. I called back today to see when the finial credited would post and close my account. After two hours and eight people later I was able to close the account and gave up on the full refund because my time as more important to me. read more

If I could give no stars I would. We called in and were on hold for at least half an hour. As soon as we walked in, we could immediately tell that all of the employees were just talking to each other and not answering any phones. To make things worse, the cashier refused to price match to their own website and we had to pull out our phone and argue the price of our item. At one point he had to asked a fellow employee to complete a task with another customer for him since he was busy with us and she walked off with an attitude because she just wanted to talk with the other employees. When we finally finished with him, he told us the lost prevention man would want to check our receipt on the way out but he was too busy talking to another employee to even look at us ! We walked out, no greeting, no goodbye, worst customer service I've ever seen at a Best Buy. I guess a high school degree permits getting paid for talking instead of working. I would like to dispute this report. First, I never heard of this report and I was never informed about it or nothing is posted at any Best Buy stores. How can a store refuse you a return when you have a receipt and you are not happy with the merchandise or the merchandise has a defect not right that it stealing from the consumer? 1)12/02/16 this was a router that I bought that Best Buy sale man recommended and of course it was not the proper one for my household so I on the same day I bought it and took back and bought a Netgear router. 2)12/20/16 could not get this router working Netgear told me to return it back to Beat Buy witch I did and exchange for and new one was not my fault it did not work and again was never told about return policy even though I had a receipt. 3)6/05/17 Don't know what I was supposed to return and said I received a warning witch I never received which should of not made a different because the report said they were a receipt. 4)I bought a receiver I ask I something was wrong could I return it I was concern because it was, and open box item took home and could not git it is working so that when I tried to return it and was declined and again was never told about policy. 5)2/12/18 Called Best Buy and he return it. They always answer my questions and let me make my own decisions, my purchase rate from their store is 100% after I ask the technical questions. Their reward policy benefits the customers, I got plenty of discounts and free rewards. I really never thought about writing a review for best buy until the other day. I haven't had any good luck with best buy ever, but the other day takes the cake for me. I've always went to best buy not because of prices but because of location and it is the only music store left. Never nice people, they lost my camera last year and to replace it so no luck at all. But on the other day I went in to get some ear buds replaced, I waited in line for ever seems like. While a employee just stood there and talked on the phone as if it was her day off and I was doing her a favor by standing there waiting. I waited a little bit longer and the line grew, finally a guy who looked like he just got off break came up and helped every body in line while she just stood there. I've never seen a company have like 5 people behind the counter and none of them know how to do anything. What's the point of having said people for a certain position when the very person you need to return something for you is never there? I don't like best buy I hate it, I wish circuit city was still a store I'm shocked that it's still a company to tell you the truth. I came to this store to buy an hp printer for my home computer. I was assured this printer, like others, came with less than full starter ink cartridges. That was fine. It's the norm. I unpacked my printer and set it up to find that there was no starter ink cartridges. No biggie! Stuff happens. I just called the store that sold me the printer to see what they would do about the issue. First of all, I had to call 6 times in a 30 minute period because the automated phone service kept hanging up on me. I finally got someone on the phone and they told me I needed to repack my printer which I already had set up and installed on my pc and bring it in and they would replace it with another packaged printer. The sales people seem knowledgeable, but if there is the slightest problem, they do not know how to take care of customers and make them want to return to the store. I was thinking about giving 2 stars because I didn't want to be too critical, but when I read the comments for the 5 different ratings, I had to go with only 1 star. Can we hire the homeless to replace the uneducated lazy workers in this store? My dad always wants to shop here for his huge electronic buys and he drags me along. One time they had a sale on usb sticks. The store was packed and plenty of available workers because of the sale. There were 3 sales rep standing at the computer alone just chit chatting. We approached them and I held up the ad with the usb stick so they could help us because we couldnt find them. "We sold out of those," one of them said right away without checking the system or offering other help we might have needed. So we said thanks because we're polite. Then as we walk towards the exit we bumped into a stand FULL of of the exact usb sticks that were in the ads. Then today i asked a "helpful" Sydney for help with a desktop my dad was interested in. There was a sticker price on the shelf with the desktop in boxes at the bottom. I asked Sydney if there was a display model so we can see the actual physical size because I couldn't find it on the shelf. She came right away and pointed to a random desktop. I said, "uhh no...i dont think so." Then she compared the model number and realize it wasn't it and then said she can pull up a picture on her phone. In summary, this is their sale tactic, point to random crap and hope the customers aren't smart enough to catch their BS, that's probably why they had shelves on "open boxes" sales.
