Best Buy in Orange has an incredible selection of electronics. It makes choosing what you are looking for take a long time to compare the various features. Many of the different products vary considerably based on their quality and price. I was looking specifically for their wearable technology and Fitbits in particular. It was surprising to see the wide selection of TV, home theater, video Camcorders, drones, smart home security, and appliances they also carry. The store was stocked, well organized and fairly clean. Most of the people working there are knowledgeable and helpful. I am not sure that Best Buy is still an accurate name for the store. The prices have risen significantly. read more

E-mail/Letter I sent to Best Buy Orange, Connecticut district manager Michael, no response as of 12/29/2022. Credit card account closed as of 12/29/2022 @ 7:42pm. Good evening, Michael,       In my email, I am complaining about poor customer service and feeling uncomfortable while shopping at your Orange, CT location on December 22, 2022. While I fully understand retail theft/fraud exists, and we must watch out for suspicious patrons, employees, and/or contractors at all times. However, it's inappropriate and unacceptable for staff to continuously observe visitors in any form without providing high-quality customer service, such as asking if assistance is needed or alerting the visitor that staff members will remain nearby at all times in the event assistance is needed.       During this particular visit, not only was I followed, but I was also monitored and felt silently harassed. As I arrived, I headed straight to the Amazon display to purchase additional Echo Dots. Due to the multiple choices, I became increasingly indecisive about which product to purchase. As I looked around, I witnessed your employee, "Andrew" observing my area and acknowledging my indecisiveness. However, an offer of help never arrived. Shortly after, I witnessed Andrew speaking to additional staffers and their attention was immediately focused on me. Still, no help was offered. As I walked back-and-forth from each side of the display shelf, two staffers walked through my area and never offered any assistance, yet it was apparent to me that I was under their constant supervision. At this point, I realized that I was being suspected of trying to commit fraud. Needless to say, I would never do such. Other shoppers were reviewing the same products in the meantime, so I accepted their knowledge in order to make my final decision.       In fact, I have been a Best Buy credit card holder for 15+ years with Orange being my primary shopping location for the past 3.5 years. In those years, I have never felt the way I feel today. I trust this is not the way Best Buy wishes to conduct business with valued customers. I have been shopping at Best Buy for more than 20 years and have never encountered such treatment before including profiling. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss matters further and to learn how you propose to prevent a similar situation from recurring. I look forward to hearing from you. ADVISING YOU NOT TO GO! The most AWFUL, despicable customer service I have personally ever seen in the tri state area. I stood in the TV MEDIA section for over 30 minutes and not one person greeted or offered to help. Almost pretended like they didn't see me, rude. the employees here are not customer friendly, and the excuse I got from them was " we are short staffed" left the store without ever being able to make a purchase. Horrible customer service. I wanted to purchase an item. I was told by an employee near the cash registers to pay at service desk. One employee was handling phone and on-line orders and walk in customers . There were more than 10 people at the line. I saw at least 6 other employees around, including a manager at the door. I've given them many chances, but this Best Buy continues to underwhelm. The staff is rarely well-informed and usually unmotivated. They do the right thing when asked directly, but are rarely proactive. Buying online and sending it to the store is especially disappointing, as the staff rarely actually puts aside what you've already paid for. The prices are decent, and the sales can be fantastic. Our customer service representative Robert was incredible; BB you have a gem of an associate in him! I am in awe of how much time he spent patiently educating us about the products. His knowledge spans different products. We enjoyed our experience so much so that we will continue to shop this location even though we will closer to the North Haven location. My husband and I came in for a new TV and Robert made sure that by the time we left we were confidant in what we had chosen. We also purchased a soundbar and are really happy so far with our items. Just purchased an unlocked phone for my Nephew. I was told that the Blu phone was compatible with Boost prepaid service. It was a birthday gift and we were super excited. We picked up a Boost $50 prepaid card. Get home unpacked the phone go online to setup with Boost. Got an error message so we contacted Boost and were told that the phone is not compatible with their carrier. This is horrible!!! We are now calling the store in Orange and have been waiting on hold 20 minutes. This is not a super maga store with tons of customers as if in NYC. Why would it take so long for customer service. Till think again about purchasing anything at this store. read more

I rarely go into this store anymore. It used to be my favorite place. Unfortunately their stock of movies keeps getting smaller and smaller to the point it only had the things I already have. It's what made me eventually turn to digital movies. The store is OK clean wise, but never perfect and shiny. Mentally I just expect a tech store to have that on point. I know they can't really control the prices but the deals on TVs and computers are never really worth it. The last two years I bought things on black Friday or x-mas season that were damaged or defective. Not sure the store is responsible, but the pattern exists. All in all, used to love this place, but I've since let it go and only go if I'm in an immediate rush for something. read more

I used to love Best Buy when it first opened, but this place went from cutting edge to dinosaur in ten years. This store is particularly bad. I can't ever get any assistance when I need it. When I do get assistance, it's usually ineffective. Also, now the price match guarantee does not include matching Amazon -- the largest retailer in the world (and not Amazon marketplace prices, which I understand can get a little dicey, but legit Amazon prices.) When I asked the manager about this, she said it was corporate policy. When I asked her whether they had also decided to change the store name to Second Best Buy or Third Best Buy she walked away. We had this location install an aftermarket radio in our Mazda MX-5 two years ago. A couple of months ago, we noticed deteriorating sound quality and we started losing sound completely on one side. Took it to another shop who found the problem. When Best Buy installed the unit, they connected the wires by twisting them together and taping them with electrical tape. No solder, no connectors. Now the connections are coming loose. No wonder! BTW, we still have something rattling around in the dashboard that we haven't been able to locate and remove yet. Awful experience. Had an appointment for 440pm to fix my iPhone I get there 5 minutes early. I'm waiting in line for 15 mins I'm the only one in line. The lady tells me take a seat, another 20 mins goes by she finally asked what I'm here for I tell her. She then tells me that Apple care people go home at 4pm... why let me schedule an appointment at 440 to fix my iPhone when everyone goes home at 4, then make me wait 40 minutes to finally ask why I'm here. I was just at the store on orange CT on the post road. The game i was looking for had 6 on the self. I was so excited they actually had it. I stood in line for around 20 minutes just to be told it is not instock. Imagine my anger and frustration. Covid is no excuse for something like this. Worst place ever for cellular services or Devices. I bought an I pad and asked to have it connected to my existing Verizon account. Some how they opened a new account with a ridiculous data plan. I went back and the cellular associate assured me it will be taken care of. It wasn't so Verizon calls me on a past due account. I go back and in assured it will be resolved it may take a few days to go through. NOT!! Now the bill is over 100. I will never buy anything from Best Buy. Not even speaker wire. So off to waste another 2 hours of my life straightening this out and out the money. They probably get commissions. Spoke to Verizon and I'll be out 100+ but it will be fixed! Oh best buy, how I could spend my money here, if I had any! I was on the look out for some dynamat, which is occasionally hard to come by, as it is expensive, and not every best buy carries it. I was picking it up for someone else, and knew it was in stock, otherwise I would have never found it. The store is a little tricky to get to, the main entrance is at this light which never seems to have a green turn arrow, and once I went through the McDonalds entrance, only to get stuck by the drive through traffic. Once inside the store, it is very clean, the staff is super helpful, smiling, and always ready to assist you. I've come here many times before, and always have had a good experience. I got what I needed, and got out quickly. The guy who was the cashier even offered to bring my boxes to my car, and I haven't ever had that offered to me. Nice. I just had the worst experience as a customer in my whole life...it was at BEST BUY Orange located at 53 Boston Post Road, Orange, CT 06477 and the main reason for it was the store manager named Josh Beaupre. I wanted to purchase a new WiFi router in the price range of $250 so I approached an empty register where the store manager was working; his name is Josh Beaupre. He told me to go to another register because he's with another customer (mind you there was no other customers around around and the store cameras can prove that) so I went to another register; during the process of ringing my item out they needed the store managers approval. I waited about 10 minutes while he was helping one customer after another while ignoring me so I approached him. The second I started communicating with him in a civil manner he started getting mad and hostile as if I was bothering him for asking him to do his job; all this could have been avoided if he took the 15 second to ring me out when I first came to his register and I would have been on my way. Things escalated quickly from there; he started telling me if I don't like it I can go somewhere else to buy my item and that he doesn't care if I buy it at Best Buy or not; I hope Best Buy cameras have sound so they can confirm that. I asked him if he's willing to go on record saying that, but once I attempted to video record him saying that he refused and said that "this is his store (he waved what I would guess are the store keys in my face) and told me video recording would violate his 4th amendment; aren't there cameras all over the store so once inside the store we all agree to get video recorded and it does not matter who's doing the recording? Correct me if I'm wrong here please. After all that he kept saying he doesn't care if I buy anything at Best Buy or not and to leave the store since its private property and it's his store. He also had his security with him during all this. I asked him for his name, store number, and number to call to file a complaint; he left, but never came back until I asked to have him paged and he just gave me his business card. I have never been treated this poorly in my entire life and to be told by an employee that they don't care if I punches things from them is a first. I welt threaten and not safe, I'm not sure if I will ever come back to Best Buy if that's how they treat their customers specially when it's the store manager; their Customer Experience needs a lot of improvement if they want to stay in business or have me spend my money there. If they look up my account I spent thousands of dollars there over the years with as soon as January 2020. I attempted calling the Best Buy complaint department, but it said it will be 3 to 4 hour wait so my guess this happens a lot since there's such a long waiting list. Very disappointed in the way that this location handled their customer service. Arrived at the location with money burning in my pocket, ready to buy a MacBook Air. Looked at the MacBook Air and was ready to get it. We went up to speak to the gentleman in front and was told that my name was going to be put into the "queue." We waited around the apple products and one of the associates was very unhelpful and rude after we asked him a quick question about the queue. We waited around for 45 min for no one to check on us, so I go back to the front to ask where we are at in the queue and it turns out my name was never added in. Finally add me into the queue and waited another 15min. An associate comes out to tell us that they don't have the MacBook Air in stock. Not only was it frustrating to find out the product we wanted was out of stock, but also that our time was not valued enough. This all could have been avoided if we could ask simple questions and not feel so dismissed on the sales floor. read more

I'm so disappointed. I went to Best Buy in Orange to purchase a new inexpensive tablet. The associate assigned to show me around asked me what kind of tablet I would be replacing and what I would be using it for. I explained that I was replacing an android tablet, and I wanted a larger screen to use the apps I use on my phone. He told me that the Amazon Fire tablet was compatible with the Playstore apps. WELL ITS NOT! I spent almost $100 on this damn thing that does not have and cannot download the apps I wanted to use on it! If you didn't know you should've said, "I don't know" rather than lie and say "Oh yes I'm positives the Fire tablet is an android and you can use the apps from the Playstore!" read more

This place has expanded. There's more room to operate and doesn't feel as clustered. The staff is friendly and looking to help. Only issue I would say I've encountered is when there's a product in the system yet it's not readily available or takes forever to be found by associates. Overall a good place to shop and they take care of their customers. One of the few best buys I'll spend my money in no problem. read more

I placed three order at the Best Buy Orange, CT location for household appliances. I scheduled a delivery date for all of the appliances and also paid for a stove installation. On the day of the delivery only two of my orders arrived. I received no notification that one of my orders was not going to be delivered. When I complained about the delivery issue, no one could inform me of the reason my appliances were not delivered. I asked for a next day delivery and I was told that the next possible delivery appointment was not for six days. They made no effort to accommodate my needs or fix their own mistakes. I was told that a manager would give me a call within a hour. It has been 48 hours and no one has made any effort to fix the problem. At the time of purchased I indicated that I was choosing the selected appliances because I need the appliances to be delivered by a certain date. read more

He went above and beyond the usual standard of service. I was confused about storage and specific models. He took as much time as we needed to help me understand and make an educated decision. I was pleasantly surprised and greatly satisfied with my recent experience at Best Buy-in Orange! I went in looking for an Apple HomePod and wasn't sure about the technology to set up 2 HPs as stereo speakers and the nuances of the item. I had a sales person who was smiling, knowledgeable and went out of her way to make sure I was happy and my questions were answered. I purchased the HomePod, walked out of the store with a smile on my face and will happily go back to Best Buy and seek out this sales person for my next purchase. Great retail help is a rarity! Bought a refurb laptop online with 2 day shipping. It came broken, something the store can't fix. Manager had the assoc try to upsell us a $600 computer with $100 off for an open box sell. We paid $300 for our refurb!? We just wanted the original computer or something comparable. We ended up having to reorder the laptop from the store. And had to eat the $ for the expedited shipping and now we have to wait approx 2 weeks. They just couldn't get it sent faster!? And no manager to be seen. Seriously?
