I just walked away from a $6000.00 sale at Best Buy in Oxnard. Adrian, a salesman, was helping my husband and I with a Samsung 75 & 85 inch TV. We told him we wanted to price compare at Costco and would be back later. When we returned, Adrian continued to help us until two other ladies came to him for help. Adrian basically dropped us to go help them. That is when I found Jose and asked him to help. He was great. When Adrian saw I was working with Jose, he came back trying to take over. He told me that the unmounting of my old TVs and mounting of my new TVs was covered under my yearly tech plan. I agreed to the sale with included the two TVs, a sound bar & 3 mounts. While at the register, a manager, Briana, came to assist. She was extremely rude and told me that the unmounting of my old TVs would cost $160.00 each even though I had the tech plan. I told her that Adrian told me otherwise. Briana said the only way the unmounting would be covered is if my old TVs were purchased from Best Buy no longer than one month ago. That made no sense to me. What does it matter if I bought the TVs a month ago or 3 years ago, there are still from Best Buy, right? She proceeded to call another manager over and he waved the fee because Adrian screwed up and gave me the wrong info. The other issue came into play when I asked for just a tv mount to be installed on an empty wall in the garage. I was purchasing that TV mount at this time. Briana told me the installation of just the mount would cost $160.00. How the hell does that make sense? She said It would be free only if I purchased a new TV for that mount. I am already paying $200.00 yearly for their tech service and they are charging me $160.00 for a mount and $160.00 to unmount old TVs and replace with the new? Um, ok. I told Brianna I was ready to walk away from the sale and she told me to go ahead. Nice customer service. I tried to wave the installation of one mount and she continued to be rude and put on a smug face. She wouldn't budge. Not very smart to lose a $6000.00 sale to a $160.00 installation. Long story short, I walked away. The customer service from Adrian & Brianna was completely unacceptable. Jose was still great & I felt bad he got trapped into their mess. I walked away feeling like my business was pretty much worthless. If you go to Best Buy, don't go to the Oxnard location. read more

I purchased a TV and was told by the salesperson that the delivery driver would bring it in and set it on a table for me. There are three elderly ladies living here and we are all disabled. The delivery was a day late to start with and then low and behold I walk outside and see my TV sitting in my driveway where anyone could have gone by and picked it up. All the delivery driver had to do was walk 20 ft to my front door and knock or at the very least left it where it wasn't so visible. I will never purchase anything from them again. Also I called two times to complain about this and the first time the customer service rep dropped the call and the second time he said he was going to get a hold of the delivery manager for me and then transferred me back to the main line. This is the most ridiculous customer service I have ever encountered. Don't purchase anything from them and have it delivered unless you want it ripped off by somebody walking by. read more

This review could of been absolutely horrible, I mean straight to the lawyer type of review. Except Andrew Nelson, the GM, and Dennis ( I apologize Dennis I do not know your last name) went above and beyond with their customer service and just being nice people who are willing to help their new life long customer. We bought a 55" flat screen on 9/1/19. Due to the business and craziness of life (sick mother-in-law, a 5 and 3 yrs girls, and 3 dogs) and my work travel I was a little busy. So I let the 55" sit for 20 days in my upstairs hallway until a Sunday when I had time to put it up. We were stoked until the TV came out of the box with a smashed screen. Wife was pissed, we were both tired from doing the weekend list of chores, I was pissed. So packed it up went back to Best Buy to exchange it. Long story short the Manager of Operations treated my wife horribly. She used words that that left distinct impression that my wife Dominican wife was beneath her. Several words were said on both sides and it resulted in being told to buy another 55" and don't break it. She did off a discount though. I was pissed. The next night while on the east coast I located the GM Andrew on LinkIn. Did some research to find out Andrews DM was. I spoke to Andrew on the phone. Shared the facts of what had taken place with his Ops Mgr. and the associate. Explained to him how I found him and his DM, explained I was on the east coast for the 12 days, he shared he was a few days of getting married and decided once I was back home and he would be married and thing would be a bit slower for us. He gave his number told me text him and he personally make everything right. Andrew and Dennis exchanged my 55", I had the receipt and everything was legit except it had been longer than 15 days of purchase. That is policy. Hence we were only 6 days past the 15 day policy. I purchased the washer and the dryer. I was told by sales rep that I didn't need to purchase additional parts for the installation. Wrong info. The installers couldn't install and send me to purchase the part. The installers came back because they left instruments inside the dryer. However, they refused to install. They took the instruments and ran away. Next problem: the installer kept their instruments in the dryer during the delivery which damaged the inside of the dryer. Now, the dryer and the washer are not available and cannot be delivered. The Best Buy sold the washer and the dryer that cost $2500 but the product is unavailable! That is fraud and misrepresentation! I have spent 90 minutes on a phone with them for three days now, and the order has never been processed. I am losing my mind. The customer service is lying each time I'm on a phone with them saying the order will be processed within 24 hours and the delivery company they used is highly unprofessional. read more

Once I got helped, this girl misheard me on the phone I was interested in and told me it was my fault in giving her the wrong information and then pulled out the phone I was inquiring about and tried ringing me up without asking me which color I wanted or how to get a deal. I came to buy an air purifier today. Store was not busy but I had to track down an employee for assistance. She specialized in TV's but walked me over to the desk that could help me (black shirts) One guy was on the phone and the other was on his laptop. Wanted to share our experience with Ryan McElroy at Pacific Sales inside Best Buy Oxnard store. After several repairs we reluctantly replaced our 18 year old Maytag Speed Queen washer/ dryer set with brand new top of the line Maytags. We loved the dryer but it wasn't long before we noticed the clothes were coming out of the washer dirtier than when they went in. Dark clothes especially showed hair, debris and left white soap marks regardless of the fact we were barely using any soap at all. They also came out with a musty smell instead of clean and fresh as it's supposed to be. We used every setting we could to get more water into the machine and used so little soap it was almost nothing at all. So we worked with Maytag Customer Support for a few months only wanting a washing machine that actually washed clothes where they would come out clean and fresh like our old Maytags. The issue was the new HE washing machines use very little water and very little HE detergent. Maytag reps had us try every setting in the book and less and less soap (including pods) to eliminate soap residue on the clothing. It took 2 to 3 washings for clothes to come out somewhat cleaner and we were using more time and electricity than our old machines so the frustration was building. They sent out techs on a couple of occasions but they barely looked at the machine and instead told us this is the "new normal", that we should get used to it and that all brands world-wide are manufactured essentially the same as our new Maytag washer. Maytag rep said since there was nothing "technically wrong" with the machines and there were no malfunctioning or defective parts to replace they said they had exhausted everything I could try and said they could do nothing more for me. We were very upset so I paid a visit to Ryan McElroy who asked why we didn't come in sooner and promptly replaced the Maytag with and a comparably priced LG that he promised we would be happy and satisfied with. Although slightly skeptical because of several months of dealing with Maytag we proceeded and Ryan was absolutely correct. The new LG machine is fantastic! Finally! Fresh, clean, clean-smelling clothes and problem resolved! Unfortunately for Maytag they have lost a lifetime customer and LG has gained a new one. But the real point of this (long-winded, sorry!) review is that Ryan really took a genuine, honest concern for us as customers and made it clear he only wanted us to be happy and satisfied. Now how often do you find a salesperson in the world like this?! So the upshot is that Ryan went above and beyond, standing behind the product Pacific Sales/ Best Buy sells even though the manufacturer did not. So go see Ryan McElroy in the Pacific Sales area inside Best Buy in Oxnard. He will make sure you remain a happy, satisfied and loyal customer. After purchasing a very expensive electronic we found it was broken when we got home. My son wanted his laptop checked out because he thought he had a virus. I dropped it off to get checked out and about a week later. We picked it up they said no virus had been found but that the lcd screen was heating up and flickering. I was really surprised because he didn't have that issue before. Took it home sure enough after it warmed up the screen had issues. The next day I dropped it off. About 3 weeks later I decided to see the status. After 3 times calling with no new information available they said now it was the motherboard and the fans that they were waiting on parts. A couple of weeks pass by called again to get a notice that parts have just been ordered. The next day I get a message that the computer will be exchanged. I go to customer service cashier seems super confused. He gives me a store credit to replace the laptop. Since the original version is now 2017 I shell out an additional $800.00. $500 for the now needed upgrade and $300.00 for the insurance. Then I'm told to wait 9 days because it needs to be ordered. I don't come here often but when I do I receive great service. Yes, it can get crowded and very busy. But on my most recent visit service was great. I called in prior to my visit and the phone call was answered quickly and no long hold times. And my question was answered. I specifically came here for a new cell phone. The employees working the At&T desk are great. They helped me promptly and were very efficient. I also needed additional help from the Samsung desk. Again, great service and very helpful. They answered my many questions and gave me great tips on using my new phone. They also offer workshops that teach you to use these fancy new phones. Oh and the best deal is I received a $250 Best Buy gift card with my phone purchase. This was a promotional offer and I happened to come here on the last day of this offer. Best Buy price matches. Maybe my review should be thrown out on the grounds that I'm a cranky, old, nostalgic man. At 41, I can remember a time when the people working in an electronics store knew something about the merchandise. I would gladly pay a few extra bucks to speak to someone over the age of 18 who understands what I'm saying to them. I went in to buy a graphic equalizer. Again, this goes to my age, but I don't like surround-sound systems for listening to music. I've gone out of my way to replace my stereos with new stereos. My new receiver had the watts, but to get the best sound, I needed an EQ. To be fair, I visited Fry's Electronics first, and asked the kid in the audio department where I could find an equalizer. "What's an equalizer?" I explained that it was a device that allowed the user to fine-tune the sound of a stereo, and he responded "OH! Those are built in to all our stereos." No, kid, they aren't. Including the Harmon Cardon I just bought here last month. Eventually, I found one (they did carry one model), but they wouldn't sell it - but that's another story about why Fry's sucks. I drove a block to Best Buy, walked into Audio, asked for an EQ and heard "What's an equalizer?" Turned on a dime and went to Grady's Record Refuge in Ventura, where a used unit was waiting for me for $25. Bottom line is, you can't replace your seasoned staff with underpaid, undereducated, undermotivated kids and expect happy customers. Not to mention, the store stocks nothing of interest to an audiophile, catering exclusively to couch potatoes who want to hear Transformers 2 in stunning THX surround sound. Feh. read more

This review is specifically for an issue I had with a Geek Squad employee. I came into the store to have my iPhone's lock screen button repaired/replaced. I purchased the Best Buy insurance monthly plan and never really needed to use it until my lock screen button started malfunctioning. You can imagine all the embarrassing butt dials that occur because I can't lock my screen. Smh. Anyway, the guy helping must've hated his life that day because he was just not interested in wanting to do anything about my phone. Even if the store is busy, fake it and put a smile on your face because your ass chose to work in customer service. He had the nerve to say, "It's not worth sending out because we'll get charged." And that's my problem, how? This Pokemon collecting virgin really expected me to just accept that as fact and deal with my broken lock screen button. Geek squad service is a joke here and severely over priced. I ordered a premium TV mount service which included "wire concealment" When the installers left all the wires exposed and dangling I asked them if this was the premium package that I ordered. Apparently they only conceal the wires if a wall cut out is already present. If that was indicated before hand I obviously wouldn't have ordered the premium package. When I tried to get a refund down to a standard package I couldn't because the installer "connected" my PS4 hahaha can you believe that? One HDMI cable from the PS4 to the TV left dangling and exposed is considered the premium package, this is just so funny and poor service its hard to even be mad!! read more

I was orignally planning a Five Star review BECAUSE of the problems I had and how well Ryan, Corey and Carla helped to make it right. That was all until Eric Garcia got involved. Let me tell you the story. We purchased a Fisher Paykel drawer dishwasher from Pacific Sales (located in Best Buy) in Oxnard. This is a real splurge. It works great, but is expensive. It's actually two dishwashers. It was ordered on July 7 and set to be delivered on July 10. Delivery happens and Corey (installer) realizes that unit doesn't drain or some sort of issue like that. He lets the company know and I deal with Ryan and others to take care of an attempt to repair the new unit (which needed to do to get a replacement). There was a failed delivery attempt because of parking (Corey was a champ!) and finally, on July 23, I get me dishwasher! So you think I would be thrilled? I was until I realized that we were missing the little tray that a detergent pod uses. It's a small, but necessaery part. I called the store and spoke with Carla. She was very helpful in trying to figure out what we needed. Then she called back and transfered us to Eric. He know nothing! I tried to explain that the plastic trays usually come in the plastic bag that contains coupons and samples. He's fighting with me telling me that I have the parts. Huh? I'm wanting extra detergent coupons (that I can get online) so I'm lying? I finally pass him off to my husband, who as a litigator, is used to fighting with jerks that don't know what they're talking about. Eric sends us page 2 of the installation guide and tells us that there is no tray. Hubby sends page 2 of user manual showing that there is a tray. A couple of hours go by and Eric calls. Guess what? They found the little plastic bag in the back of their store. We quickly went by to get it. All of the actual problems caused by the broken, new dishwasher, were handled beautifully by the staff at Pacific Sales. It was only when Eric got involved and basically called me a liar that things took a terrible turn. Luckily, I'm not in need of appliances, because if Eric is working there, I'll be shopping elsewhere. I have never been treated with such disrespect by someone who was actually proven wrong. I didn't speak with him when he called back to say he found the parts. I saw it was Eric and gave the phone to my husband. An apology via email, etc. would have made this a 4 star review. read more

I was in the market for a new laptop, did my research and found a Lenovo bundle deal and settled on the Oxnard Best Buy location as they said it was in stock there. Upon entering the store I went to the laptop area I was told they no longer had what I was looking for. I was directed to customer service. This process took quite a while. Though in the end a young female associate walked up and said , "oh I know where that is" and withing just a minute or two I had my new laptop in my hands. I was thrilled to see that not only did I get to purchase the computer, but that a Best Buy associate to it upon herself, and put forth added effort to help me. Best Buy has a lot of reasons to be concerned. The online presence shows more forethought than the traditional way of purchases. The one great thing about a storefront is the ability to actually walk away with the item itself. It is this instant gratification that makes going out to an electronics store worth while. So after doing some price comparisons between four stores, Costco, Fry's, Best Buy and ...wow, don't remember the fourth store, we as a family decided it was worth our time to visit Best Buy and Costco for our new television. When we get to Best Buy, I asked a lot of questions. The one positive thing about Best Buy, is I actually had two associates go over all the latest and greatest features in these new SMART/3D features. They knew the difference between Active and Passive 3D (something I had absolutely no clue about) and gave the family the demonstration on one of the working models. When it came down to the budget, the second associate found the television that would fit the budget and have all the features we wanted. So we settled on a Visio 60 inch television that had double the Hz rate and also had 3d and SMART features. Here's where I'm going with this, we spent all this time in Best Buy, and I was ready to put down $$$ on a television. I am a sold customer. So the rep checks the inventory... they don't have it in stock. And back in the day, there was a concern to keep the sale, so I naturally asked for the floor model hoping to get a discount. The rep said that is a flat 'no'. I asked why and the rep said that it is not a discontinued item and there is a policy in place that prevents them from even selling the floor model. Okay, so I looked around for a comparable TV. Turns out the Samsung model on sale was 300.00 MORE than the Visio. So I requested them to make a concession, slash the price of one of the Samsungs for what I was willing to pay for the Visio. Nope, that would violate another company policy. So at this point, I realized it's not the sales person nor is it the merchandise; it's the company policies managed by corporate that is throwing up unheard of barriers. So I got the idea to go to my number two store, Costco. At Costco, I found the same Visio model WITH a manufacturer discount. Not only was it 200.00 cheaper than Best Buy, BUT I was able to cart it off immediately! Costco even had associates put the beast on a cart where I can wheel it off myself. The only problem I had now was if I had enough room in my car to get the blasted thing inside. Costco stocks relevant merchandise in addition to the well known 'bulk is cheaper' theory, but quite frankly, Best Buy is towing a cart where not all the wheels are circular. read more

I was racially stereotyped in this store. Not that it was a bad thing though. I'm an Asian man and I was looking at shit and this white old dude comes up to me and asks me questions like I worked there or something and I don't and I helped him and I asked him like oh hey man why did you ask me and he said well your people are good at these types of things and I said lol what my people and he said yeah Asians. Anyways. I've sold some games to this Best Buy and the people who helped me were always nice and patient. I really don't get how Best Buy is still in business tho. They are constantly undercut by Frys and Amazon but I guess it's a nice place to go to see things in person and tangibly touch stuff before placing an order online. I suspect there is no pleasing me. In the past, while shopping at Best Buy, I've grown annoyed at all the blue shirted people asking if they can help me. Nope, the only thing I need help with is getting whatever it was I bought out to the car. I associate any purchase at a Best Buy as a major investment on my part to research the pros and cons, arrive at a decision, and march in determined to go home with whatever it was I researched. This morning, I saw bunches of blue shirted people and not a single one of them offered any assistance. Surprisingly enough, I found this irritating.
