They have plenty of parking and the store is alway well kept and organized. It's nice being able to check to see if something is in stock in their app or to order for in-store pickup. Apple suggested Best Buy for an iPhone battery change - do not come here for that. We had an appointment yesterday evening, we came and were told at our appointment time that the technician was out to lunch and that they would have to hold the phone overnight or we could make another appointment the following day (today) and drop the phone off then. We showed up today at our appointment time and the manager did everything in her power to talk us out of a battery change. Then, when we told her that's what we wanted, she ran a diagnostic check and said they didn't have the battery and would have to order it and then "let us know." My parents drove a long distance. They're elderly and sat through traffic two days in a row for non-existent customer service in hopes that they wouldn't have to drive all the way to an Apple Store in Thousand Oaks or Santa Barbara. Went to Best Buy Oxnard due to proximity to my house and had a series of poor home theater experiences. Went to buy and have a home theater installed at my home. Very challenging to find anyone to help, including in Magnolia showroom. Then finally set up a home theater in home consultation. After 6 weeks, I've never received the proposal and no follow up. Went elsewhere for a flawless sales and installation experience. I would note that their Appliance team is very helpful and knowledgeable. We ordered a refrigerator 3 weeks ago. They have botched the delivery 5 times. The first time it was the wrong refrigerator. The second and third time the refrigerator was badly dented. The 4th and 5th time the delivery people said they couldn't get it up the stairs, which they always knew were there. I come to Best Buy as they have the ability to transfer all the data from one phone to another Verizon and ATT don't or wont. This time Justin and Yami helped us transfer our cell, they also put on the screen cover for us and got all the info transferred to the new phone even the text messages. They have great team work, enthusiasm and customer service. I have come in just to get them to switch out the broken Zagg glass cover and they did it for a minimal charge and don't give you any grief for not buying the phone from them. All the stuff with new fluff. The prices here are competitive with the other big box stores and they have some cool stoves and kitchen stuff we saw while walking around waiting for the phone to transfer. read more

Never got assistance and the manager, still not getting up from her desk, said, it says right in the isle to go get this item up front... but we had questions about the $250 Bose sun glasses and other $150 Beats headphones we were going to buy... finally left the store without either, deciding not to reward such terrible service. The service is terrible from sales to installation and no customer support. My refrigerator arrived broken, the water and ice maker does not work. The installers were not trained to install and connect the refrigerator to the Wi-fi. No one could properly set up the refrigerator and I go days without any assistance. I left several messages with the Sales team and sent email messages to Eric Kebler. Crickets, no feedback or help or responses. We spent over $4,000 for a broken refrigerator. The worst Best Buy I have been too. Called up ahead of time to check in on inventory of a 30" cooktop, after seeing they are online. Rude call staff told me there was three. I asked him to confirm before making 2.5 hour drive. He said rudely "yes, sir." He advises I buy it online now so we don't miss out. So we buy. And we drive. Arrive for curb side pick up where they bring it to you in 3 minutes. 15 minutes later, nothing. I go in. They tell me when I get in they don't have three in stock. Just one. And it's been used. Someone has used it in their kitchen, then uninstalled it and returned it. And it has been damaged. They ask if I want it. They want to give me a discount but the system is down so they can't. Not that I want a discount on a used and damaged cooktop. When I asked why they had listed a used damaged cook top as new, and why they hadn't checked on the item once purchased so this could have been discussed before I made the trip, they shrugged. I've had an issue in the past, where I bought and returned a laptop with a defect, and bought and returned something to repurchase it with a gift card that I had forgotten. Got return blocked by Best Buy for returning things for about 90 days. They use this thing called "The Retail Equation", which captures your ID and credit card info, and attaches it to your purchases. Be very sure you know what you want, and that the item would probably have no defects. Otherwise, you may be marked as a "fraudster" by this company and be blocked from returns. read more

Ok this is twice thier tech support is not good. We bought a surface pro here and it had warranty. We had the touch screen problem. We were like ok this was just slightly over the month. The tech said we have to deal with Microsoft. My mother needed help since I was on a business trip. They just said we can't help you. So my mother waited until I came back. I was not there so I didn't care much. Now where it just pissed me off was the fact I bought an iPad here. I troubleshooted the iPad with a apple tech over the phone and concluded that it was the battery. So I went to the apple website scheduled and appointment (bestbuy) Once I got there I was super early I had an appointment at 745 on a Wednesday night. I got there at 630 pm. Said what the issue is. And he didn't even try or look at it. He just said sorry we just can only replace it for 300 dollars for the same one. I told them about the apple tech said I could have the battery replaced. And they said no we can't. It's impossible. I'm a computer tech I can do it I just don't have a heat pan. This is ridiculous, I'm not ignorant. I walked to thier iPad sections and they were selling the new 6th gen for 245. Spoke apple about this they said it's not right to do things that way. This may be the first time in 37 years I've been accused of being a thief... In the process of buying a $115 "hot spot" device today, I was accused of stealing a $15 adapter cord. Master of security, Francisco, was so spaced out when he should have been working, he never saw me walk into Best Buy with a cord I brought in from my car. Then the Pullitzer prize winning customer service team, instead of giving me a petty $15 credit, instead basically called me a thief. I love Best Buy...I really do. Its just hard because this location is right on the other side of the freeway from Fry's. Its in the Rose area of Oxnard...right across the street from Wal-Mart. I have been in here more than once looking for a cell phone charger or car stereo equipment. I never get stellar customer service...as many other people have said its usually someone who has never had much electronics experience before. The reason they don't get a lower review is because I really do like their mobile phone department. They always have pretty darn decent prices when it comes to phones. Where Verizon might be selling a phone for $199 after a $100 mail in rebate Best Buy has the same phone for $199 without the rebate. And they have always been great with returns. I have been a customer and a Geek Squad member at Best Buy for over ten years. At the beginning of 2023, they instituted the Total Tech program, which almost tripled the membership cost. I didn't buy into Total Tech, and I am glad. For $200/year, I would get techs that couldn't even put a new battery in my Mac, couldn't activate a dysfunctional Webroot installation, told me they couldn't uninstall it, and were unable to reformat a Seagate External HD so it could be used in addition to Time Machine. The Geek Squad techs have taken a big dive to the barrel's bottom. Apple owners: My advice is to do business elsewhere. The Geeks have repeatedly told me to call Apple anyway. I traveled about 10 miles to this location to pick up an online order because I did not have the time to survey the showroom. The staff was unreasonable and insisted that I have the exact credit card (my own) that I used for the order on me. Despite that I have my Driver's License, AAA card, another credit card, a U.S. passport card, a photocopy of the credit card used, you would think it's logical that someone would review all my ID's to verify my identity. This is a review of Geek Squad in the store, not of the store itself. Have a hardware failure on my Dell laptop. Windows won't load. They want to charge me $70 just to tell me what the problem is. It's likely a hard drive failure, but I want a pro to tell me what exactly the problem is. I know they could do a quick diagnostic and tell me, so $70 is too steep just for a quick diagnostic. The check up should be free, and charge me for the actual service, don't charge me just to tell me what the problem is. My auto mechanic will check my car for free, but then charge me for any work he does. That's how it ought to be. read more

When it arrived this last Tuesday, the "Geek Squad" guys were very nice, professional and friendly. They went through the basics with me. They left and I tried to turn on the set and it was dead, no picture. I called the guys and they came back. I was told the TV was a lemon and had to be replaced. The TV was not in stock and had to be ordered from another store, it's already been 4 days and still no TV. I find it difficult to believe there are no replacement TVs available. Ordered a hdmi cord online for curbside pickup because of COVID-19. Showed up at 4:30 on Saturday 4/25. We were one of two cars outside the store at the time. The heavyset woman running the curbside pickup was extremely rude and clearly could not care less about the quality of customer service she was providing. Ordered online and estimated wait time was one hour. Showed up after 1.5 hours. She tells me they're out of the one item I ordered, so I'd have to reorder another brand online, pay a second time, wait another hour, and come back to see if they had it in stock. Wouldn't even check to confirm if they had another brand in stock before I paid again. Yet to receive the refund she assured would come through. Years ago, I remember there was always an associate available to answer any/all of your questions in just about every department. Now, you hardly see anyone and the few that are on the floor you will see them fraternizing near the front of the store. Also, last night I overheard an elderly woman say as she was walking to her car, "Geez! Can't make anyone work their job anymore!" I will never shop here again. My sales person was so eager to get credit for a sale that she placed an order in store even though I wanted it online so I could receive free delivery. I was unable to pick it up because it was too large for my vehicle and the order was automatically canceled but never refunded to my Best Buy credit card. When asked for a receipt confirming the cancellation, the receipt showed the return of the TV and a purchase of the same TV, resulting in a zero dollar invoice rather than a refund. One month later they are still giving me the runaround. I had to file a dispute with the credit card company. This is fraud as I did not authorize the second purchase. Timara sent an email confirmation for wrong date/wrong time. I called back. No record of appointment so Paul arranged delivery for 12/4 btwn 12&8 pm. Told me that Makalya would be the installer and it would likely be btwn 12&2. Got an email for A.M. installation which was wrong so I called back. No record of appointment. I called back. (Each time I called I was on hold for 1/2 hour or more, so each call took an 1 hour of my life or more and really frustrated me.) I did not get the name of representative for this call, but I asked for a manager and waited another 1/2 hour for jerky-attitude John. We did combat and I was told that Best Buy NEVER does afternoon delivery. I asked - NEVER in all of 2023 there are no pm appointments? Right.....oh but he offered a $70 gift card to use at Best Buy after I asked for compensation for their ineptitude. I do admit that I called bull $hit and jerky John showed me he could be even jerkier. It's been over a month. I still do not have my TV and had to take a morning appoint or "too bad/so sad". My complete disappointment, frustration and anger brought me here so I could let go of some of it. Went to Best Buy for an advertised online deal. The ad had a "where to buy" button & it took us directly to Best Buy. He said he couldn't price match for 4 diff reasons 1) There was a "glitch" in the advertisement 2) since there was an error, they wouldn't price match, 3) it wasn't for the item advertised, 4) It wasn't from a local competitor. When I took him thru every step & proved him wrong, (along with showing him their price guarantee) which said local or online, he said well our guarantee also says to our discretion & I'm not going to price match it.
