I will never again buy a product or recommend anyone buy a product from Best Buy. I had received a gift of Powerbeats headphones for Christmas which had become defective and were no longer powering on or holding a charge. I went to Best Buy to get an exchange for the same set of headphones, and they wouldn't honor it. They wanted to send them out to geek squad which takes weeks, which is longer than I've owned them. This is why I make most of my purchases through Amazon, which has logical customer service practices. So long Best Buy, it's only a matter of time before you go under. read more

I was directed to Best Buy to speak with the Apple I-phone technician. After 38 minutes on hold, I gave up and called corporate headquarters with no better results. As I explained to the hapless employee who finally answered the phone at Best Buy corporate, "Why in the world would I EVER shop at Best Buy? If I were forced to call for customer service, I would face a "hold" long enough to clean the house and wash/dry two loads of laundry. We were having about 50 people over to watch a boxing fight and needed to find a projector screen big enough to accommodate the party. General Manager Tim helped us pick the perfect one and had it shipped out from another store. We were worried it wouldn't make it in time, but Tim assured us it would. The day of the party the screen arrived as planned and it was exactly what we had been looking for. I usually order most things off of Amazon, but was so glad that the employees at Best Buy were able to get us a screen faster than Amazon could (in time for the party), and at a better price. Ordered a washer online and store said it was ready for pick up. We drove a hour away from home to pick up washer. Once we arrived the manager on duty said we can not get washer because there were TVs in the way and said they could not move them. Told us to come back tomorrow and offered $50 off. Do not go here! I received amazing service from Eric and Andres in cellular. I went in to buy a new phone for my son and got excellent service from Eric. The next day I got an email with a coupon for a $100 gift card with the activation of a new phone. I went in to see if they'd honor it. They told me I'd have to do a full return, pay the restocking fee and buy a whole new phone in order to use the coupon. I didn't want to put them through the hassle and didn't want to wait, so I told them to forget it. As I was walking out, Andres chased me down and told me he could at least give me a $40 gift card without having to do a return. He ended up giving me a $50 card. Although I am a very patient person I've never been as frustrated as I was at this time. Back in Nov of '12, I called ahead to check the price on a TV. That alone took a half hour - I stated "ok, I'm interested in buying that one today, I can be there in 20 minutes". The woman I spoke with said "ok, I look forward to meeting with you!" When I get there, there's no availability of that selected one and it's as if I was lost in the phone record limbo. After and hour and a half of trying to figure it all out, I left with slightly discounted things for the TV, but no TV. My wife and I stood in the tablet/laptop section for a little over a half hour before anyone came to help us even after I gave one of the sales associates a quick wave, he was writing up a customer but he could have at least called someone over to help us out. This review is for the Geek Squad "repair" department. An absolute joke. I booked my appointment through the Apple website using my Apple ID and it listed this place as an "authorized Apple repair" location. I figured it seemed easier than making a trip to the Apple store in Thousand Oaks so I booked the next available appointment. I had already done my own research online and read servers articles about this issue I was experiencing (specifically an issue with the model iPhone that I had)...it was described as "touch screen disease" and Apple would repair the problem (ONLY on the iPhone 6 Plus) for $149. I figured it was cheaper than purchasing a new phone so I decided to do it. After I checked in I was met by a lady who introduced herself as a geek squad member specifically for Apple products. I explained that my screen had been freezing, experience strange touch screen issues, and showing gray flickering bars at the top of the screen. I also mentioned that I did research online and was 99% sure that I was experiencing this alleged "touch screen disease"...as I watched her tapping my frozen screen (completely bewildered) and asking me how she was supposed to access my settings? Literally. She asked me that. Well the screen is frozen, that's why I'm here, so that seems like a question you would be more suited to answer than myself. Anyway she takes the phone and says the diagnosis will be complete in 45 mins. An hour and a half later she finally comes back (purposely holding my phone away from me) and says that she thinks the LCD screen needs to be replaced entirely, etc, and the phone was tested on their "$50,000 machine" (I don't care if it costs $50 million dollars) and even if I wanted to replace the screen she wouldn't be able to do it because they have screens for every iPhone model "except the iPhone 6 Plus. Apple just doesn't send them to us"...so I explained that Apple itself said on its company website that it would repair the screen on this specific model (only) for $149. She proceeded to argue with me that Apple would never do that. I was already so over her lack of knowledge or professionalism that I asked for my phone back. As she handed it back she says "the screen is slightly more damaged than when you brought it in"...and that they had been repairing Apple products since the beginning of the MONTH. Less than 30 days. As I look down at my phone it was literally destroyed with a screen covered in multiple lines of various colors. Do not take anything to these idiots for "repair" unless you wanna leave with a device in worse shape than it was when you brought it in. These geek squad people are a joke. read more

Sooo...let me clarify this review has nothing to do with the Oxnard store, but rather with Best Buy as a whole, particularly website orders. Were there less than one star...perhaps negative stars...I would assign them. I ordered a television with next day delivery, only to be informed that rather than receiving my television in two days, I would have an indeterminate date of two weeks with no firm delivery date. What is more, after numerous calls to an offshore call line, one of which was 45 minutes in waiting and the MOST obnoxious, condescending call (which was terminated when I was unceremoniously dropped) I have had the misfortune to have been subjected I was informed that cancellation of ANY order was only possible within 30 minutes of the original submission. Keep in mind that I was not informed of the breach of contract (next day delivery) until more than 12 hours had passed...talk about bait and switch! I was finally informed I could reject the order...hmmm do any of you have the time to dedicate to slavishly waiting for a delivery with no exact date? I do not. So, as it is I cannot cancel the order...do not know when it might arrive...and have been treated shabbily. Will I EVER darken Best Buy as a customer in any way, shape, or form? Geek Squad - You must set an appointment as they don't take walk ins. They don't answer their phone. You must book it online but it's not easy to find that. Even with an appointment I waited a good while only to be told their system was down so I should go to Apple instead to get my phone fixed/swapped. What a waste of time! Geek Squad is understaffed. Yet just 20 feet away the BB Customer Service Desk had two people doing nothing. They stood hunched over their phones until two sales floor employees came over to chat for several minutes while I waited at Geek Squad for one of the two Geeks to become available. BB is over staffed in sales reps but GS is way understaffed. It's simply faster to drive to Thousand Oaks to get it done by Apple. read more

It started on a Sunday afternoon where I turned in two iPhones for battery replacement which was suoposed to be done by 7:15 pm. Guy told me they close at 9:00 and to come in before then for pick up. They closed at 8:00! Luckily they realized they gave me the wrong closing time and someone waited for me. One phone was ok but the other, the touchscreen stopped working so it had to be replaced. The tech supposedly removed it from my icloud account, but I get a call on Monday afternoon on my alternate phone saying that it wasn't properly removed from my iCloud. When I tried to call back The Geek Squad the phone kept ringing for 10 minutes so I hung up and called back. The tech walked me through how to remove it from my account so they could order the replacement and told me that she would call me back if there were any further problems. I show up for my appointment on Wednesday like they told me to and waited for 30 minutes only to be told my phone wasn't coming in until Thursday. They could not tell me why nobody called me to let me know this. So basically they wasted my time and now I have to go in another day. read more

I first off would like to say I live in Newbury park and come to this best buy store is for 2 reasons emilly utu and jessie Horowitz both were amazing to me especially Emilly utu I had a problem that I tried to resolve at my local store in thousand oaks but was just treated like trash. I called the Oxnard store and with instantly talking to Emilly utu and letting her know the issues I was having she told me to come into the store and she would resolve it for me no problem! And she did just that I can honestly say I was incredibly greatful for her and her amazing customer service as well as going above and beyond for me! She could teach the entire staff at thousand oaks store about what customer service is! I went into the store and asked for her as directed and she took care of my issue in no time and was once again incredible to me I was extremely lucky to have had the chance to speak with her and she restored my faith back in bestbuy she deserves some recognition for the outstanding job she did and how professional and and made sure I was taken care of before she left! I was again amazed! And really hope that she gets some kind of recognition! I work in customer service as well for (wholefoods) and know how challenging it can be! I wish I could give zero stars. I bought a laptop last year, and got the 1 year protection plan because the salesperson TOLD me that after the protection plan expires, I would get a free laptop battery if I didn't use the plan. So a year passes, and I try to make good on the deal. I call in and inquire about my free battery and they tell me "No, because the protection plan expired." I talk to a manager (Her name is Elisia) and she tells me the same thing. So I mention that the original salesperson insisted that I would get a free battery AFTER the plan expires. She kept saying that she's sorry there was a misunderstanding (implying that the misunderstanding was on MY part). I asked her why a salesperson said one thing, but she's saying another. She kept implying that I was wrong and that she wasn't going to help me. That even if the salesperson told me one thing, the "Terms and Conditions" that I signed says another. Guess what? I read every part of the Terms and Conditions and nowhere in there says the battery is only redeemed before expiration. So basically that store is eager to sell me anything and make any kind of promise but won't make good on it when it comes to benefiting the customer. So I called and complained to corporate. I wanted to inform them that they have these kinds of employees at this store. A manager (Elisia) who won't help their customers when there is an issue, and a salesperson who will sell anything and say anything regardless if it's a legitimate promotion or not as long as they get the sale. Corporate helped and took care of me, so I think that it's just this particular store that is terrible. read more

We received the Frigidaire Gallery (Stainless Steel)combo convection wall oven/microwave. After three months of use, both ovens are working well. The features work Great. Dan and Cody did a fantastic job of getting the unit installed. (We had a little tweeking to do) The complaint I had was with the bells and beeping. I was able to easily disable the microwave (user preference button) the convection also was easy. A volume control would be nice when we need the timer etc... It is really great to have a oven that works so well on all the variety of food that we have thrown in there. Also it is a plus freeing up the counter and having the microwave right there. First thing we have bought in while where I can give a positive review on the product and the seller. Good job Best Buy! read more

I have yet to find a Best Buy that has everything that I need and offers good service (or any). I went there looking for a couple of options for my new TiVo connection and looked and looked for about 20 minutes but all I got was an uncaring standard "hi, how are you doing?" from one employee as he was just passing by with no intention of ever stopping to see if I actually needed help. I found two of the three things I needed today and finally just left because I didn't spend any more time nor money. There were lots of employees and though they also had lots of customers but in my experience I've never been offered real help that was not solicited by me at any of the Best Buy stores. I just shop there because of the convenience but would definitely go elsewhere if I can help it. It's never been and ever will be my first choice for electronics unless I'm willing and ready to tackle non service for cheaper price...Oh, wait a minute, that's why they are sometimes "cheaper" than others because they go "cheap" on customer service personnel! read more
