I came here yesterday wanting to buy a MacBook but being indecisive on which one to specifically get. I then approached an employee and asked him for some information on the different kinds and after speaking with him I knew so much information and was able to make a decision immediately! I visited the Geek Squad a week ago to get my computer fixed. I really didn't want to go there due to all the bad things I'd heard about their customer service, but I had no choice as I had an extended warranty with the Geek Squad as a gift. So, I took it in, trying to keep an open mind. There was just one person being helped before me, and a woman sitting before a computer station, but another Geek Squad member (Raul) just seemed to be walking around, not acknowledging me or caring I was next in line. I finally spoke up and asked if anyone could help me. Raul said he was helping the woman at the bench. Just then, another Geek Squad member just happened to walk by. He was able to help me. Hallelujah. I told him about my extended warranty and he looked for a record of it online. He couldn't find it. After about 15 minutes of looking for my store receipt and warranty online and not being able to find it, he told me to go to Customer Service. Isabel in Customer Service gave it her best effort to find my information, but couldn't find it. I requested to speak to a Manager. That was when I met Jesse, the Assistant Manager, and Carrie, from IT Support. Jesse and Carrie looked online for my records, couldn't find them, then looked for all the Mac Book Airs sold that particular day. Couldn't find it. So they resorted to looking for all the sales with a matching SKU number. BINGO! Now I have no idea why my record was lost in the first place, but the fact that Jesse and Carrie were able to find it meant I didn't have to pay an arm and a leg to get my computer fixed. Kudos to them for actually helping me! THEN, a Geek Squad guy hooked up my computer to see what was wrong with it, found out, then wrote me up a Claim Check. I went home after spending an hour and a half at Best Buy. When I looked at my Claim Check, they'd written it up for an IPad Mini instead of for my Mac Book Air! Good grief, I couldn't believe it. I called them up the next day and they said they would tell the technician about it. Great. I asked how long it would take to fix my computer and he said 3 or 4 days, and would it be okay to wipe the hard drive if they had to. Fine. They actually called me up the next day and said it was ready. I asked if they had to wipe the hard drive. He said no, that there were just four areas that had to be fixed. I went to pick it up the following day. Again, I was waiting to be helped, and there was no one else before me this time. Raul was there again, walking around and past me, ignoring me, and eventually going over to the customer service department right next to the Geek Squad department to help out. After waiting some more, I walked over to Raul and asked if there was anyone that could help me. He told me to have a seat and he'd get someone to help me. Actually, i watched him and he didn't call anyone to help me. After waiting for awhile again, i finally got up and went around the partition to see if there were any other Geek Squad members around. What i saw were two Geek Squad guys who seemed to be on a break, talking and laughing while there were people (me) waiting forever in line. I asked them for some help because I was just there for a pick-up. I finally got my computer back but learned that they actually did completely wipe my hard drive and reload the OS system and other programs that were loaded at purchase. After briefly testing it, it was painless enough getting out of there since I didn't have to pay for any repairs. This narrative turned out much longer than expected, but the gist of it is that as far as repairing my computer, the Geek Squad did a good enough job, even if they did have to wipe my hard drive, and they were fast. If it were just a matter of fixing my computer, I could easily have given them 4 or 5 stars, but the reason I give Best Buy just 1 star is for two reasons -- 1. The absolutely HORRENDOUS customer service I received, or DIDN'T receive, from Raul. I honestly don't know why Best Buy keeps him. If he's the first encounter a customer has at Best Buy and yet he's able to make me slam the whole experience just based on his disinterest, then Best Buy has some serious housecleaning to do. This is so unfair to the workers who do their best for Best Buy, as exemplified by Asst. Manager Jesse and associates Carrie and Isabel. 2. I never did learn why my purchase records were lost to where I had to call in the calvary (Asst. Manager Jesse and Carrie), but this should never have been the case. I understand that these things happen, but what if they hadn't been able to find my records and I would've been forced to pay for repairs when I'd already bought an extended warranty? Luckily, this did have a happy ending as my computer is working fine now. As long as I don't have to deal with Raul, I'll still be shopping at Best Buy. read more

So, I got a short-notice filming gig and NEEDED DV tape. I roll over to BB, thinking they were the most likely source near my house. I get to the store, was not acknowledged by the greeter, and proceeded to locate (after wandering around looking lost for a while) the tape... or where the tape should be. I had about 3 hours before the event at this point... I looked around, the only guy apparently working the section was helping some other customers. I was getting antsy, so I called the store switchboard from my phone to see if I could ask if they might have more tape in the back. I was still waiting to talk to a person (about 7 min later) when the sales rep finished with the people he had been helping and walked up to see how he could help me- he was great, he just had NO support in running the section. Anyhow, he helped me locate the nearest Best-Buy source of the tape I needed... about 30 minutes south in Thousand Oaks. So, I wound up going across the street to Wal Mart. After being finally being acknowledged by the Best Buy door greeter "MAM! YOU HAVE TO EXIT THRU THE SCANNERS..." (Great, at least I exist now, I'm a thief, or at least being treated like one, but hey.) I HATE spending $ at Wal Mart, I think their corporate values are screwed. But, I will say this. I looked a little lost, an associate asked me if they could help- and told me exactly where to find what I was looking for. I went to the photo dept, where I was again greeted and shown the tapes. They were in stock and about $5 less than they would have been at BB, had they been in stock there. I was able make my purchase and get out- all within the time I was IN BEST BUY, WAITING ON HOLD TO EVEN TALK TO SOMEONE. I just want to let the Best Buy manager, Tim Favis, to know he may be saving some money by keeping staff levels low, but he lost my business, likely permanently. The three biggest management fails- in my opinion? Not scheduling enough associates for all departments. Not making sure the phone is picked up in a timely manner- again, I think that has a lot to do with staffing levels. Not monitoring inventory to make sure items are in stock- there were a lot of empty spots on racks where items were out-of-stock. Not just the item I needed. Long story short, if you enjoy wasting your time, being treated either like you don't exist or a thief, this is your spot. Otherwise, find a more deserving retailer to give your hard-earned cash to. I would give the associates at BB 5 stars- they were great, overworked and stressed, but nice folks who seem to want to help. (Aside from the "greeter.") They just get hamstrung by what I consider to be shortsighted management. read more

If I could give zero stars I would! I brought my computer to this Best Buy Geek Squad so they could fix my charging port. They replaced the whole motherboard, now I get blue screen errors, or it shuts off completely and won't turn back on. 7 repairs later, I've spoken to the store managers, the corporate resolution specialist, and they are all "sorry for your frustration with your laptop, there is nothing we can do." Haha... My frustration is with the people/ company who broke my laptop! Do not use this company!!! They have no guarantee behind their work and they have no pride in customer service or resolutions!!! Small claims court here I come. read more

Don't buy from Best Buy. I had to wait a week and a half for them to deliver the new TV. When they did, they said they had to unplug everything. But when the finished, my WIFI didn't work. They best they would do was come back another 10 days later. Worst customer service ever. Costco and sometimes Fry's have competitive prices. Go there instead. Best Buy and Pacific Sales, don't do it! We bought a broken WhirlPool dishwasher from Best Buy and have now spent 2 Saturday's waiting at home for correct Delivery and instillation of the replacement unit. Best Buy took no responsibility and passed us over to Pacific Sales a company they choose to do business even though customers are dissatisfied. We just experienced the second error in the same day! The second arrangement today was done by a supervisor and still is incorrect! This company is beyond disorganized. Shame on Whirlpool and Best Buy for contracting with a company that can't arrange a delivery and instillation after 3 consecutive try's. Until this is corrected amongst these organizations I recommend not purchasing from Best Buy or Whirlpool! read more

Best Buy is where I have been buying my electronics for years. It does not have extremely cheap prices, but I find technology I buy there is more reliable. Their protection plans are also a reason I shop there. Customer service is average, that could vary from place to place but personally in my area there are no problems. A tall gentleman who worked at Best Buy greeted me at the door and immediately got my item for me. It took all of one minute to enter the store and get my item with an emailed receipt. I have been a member of 'GEEK SQUAD ' for many years. They have always been great at fast repairs, done well. My last visit (a year ago) was okay, except I had a "hardware problem", and they stated that due to new policy, they had to send all of these types of problems out... to some other location, for repairs! (This really turned me off!!!). I just came from the Geek Squad at Best Buy, for what I thought would be a simple virus removal. The intake clerk told me no problem, but it would take from 8 to 10 days to complete... now I was really mad, and asked why so long? The Answer was swift, and had something to do with not enough personnel and not being supplied with enough of the proper tools & etc. to keep up with demand!!! Also something about taking on 'Apple Products'. I will now try to find a shop that is more reliable, faster without a long wait time. Came here on Labor Day weekend to buy a TV. I already had an idea of what I wanted. Best Buy was not that crazy busy, and I got help from a Geek Squad member, Marcus. I was happy to be with a Geek Squad guy, because they work on the technical side, and they know what breaks a lot and what doesn't. I asked him straight out what would he get, and he directed me towards a Panasonic Plasma, he said it was far more superior that Samsung and LED. So I bought it, and got the 4 year warranty, and I am super pleased. read more

What a "customer service" disaster. The store needs major improvement. I ordered a product (Order number: BBY01-629175003559) and I had someone call and say the product was in and at the store. When I went into the store today, they could not find the product even though they had a record of the transaction in their computer. They basically had no idea what had happened to it? I asked for a refund and made a vow to myself never to return. I recommend that others who don't want a frustrating retail experience, seek their products from another Company. read more

I recently did a software update on my Samsung S9+ and after the update completed, I could not operate the phone at all. I lost all the information in the phone. I called Best Buy and spoke to Yami, one of the Samsung experts. She invited me in to look at the phone. When I got there she spent about 2 hours retrieving all my information and setting up a Cloud account in case this ever happened again. She was very patient and professional. When I left, the phone was operating awesome. I use my phone for work and was stranded without it. Thanks Yami for taking care of me. I can surely see why this store only has two stars. The service is horrible. I purchased a stereo here and it was to be installed last Friday. I went in on Friday and was told my appointment wasn't until the next day, however I was told a kit I needed wasn't ordered. The associate state he would order and call me the next day. Its now Wednesday and no one has bothered to call me. I've called the store a total of 6 times and according to sales reps the department is always closed. They also apparently don't check their voicemails as it is full and unable to leave messages. read more

Went to the store the other day after dealing with the rude and dishonest corporate store down the street. They had me going up to T.O. for no reason and would always make up a story as to why they couldn't help me with my problems and all I needed to do was call an automated number, that did not help me whatsoever. I came into the store for some xmas shopping and ended up browsing at the phones when a young lady named bianca attended me. She was so nice and polite, she was entertaining my kids while still helping me with her charismatic attitude. She got me the phones that I wanted and lowered my bill. I was so appreciative that I asked to buy her lunch which she turned down, I even offered to tip her and she turned that down as well. We just another pleasant experience with "Ryan" the manager of Pacific Sales in Best Buy. Initially, 1) Initially, Ryan was helpful in matching and 'besting' a price for a french door Kitchen Aid refrigerator. We were comparing to Lowes and Home Depot at the time. 2) As things happened, when the new fridge did arrive (and fairly quickly at that) with scratches, he was courteous in having it replaced promptly. 3) Recently, the ice make auger wasn't lining up and he just (today) after a careful over-the-phone diagnosis, then arranged for a new part to be sent out. Once again, he was professional and courteous. These experiences will lead us to recommend going to Best Buy / Pacific Sales for major appliances -- I hope that he is training the other staff to this level of assistance. :) Thanks! read more

Worst customer service ever! Went in last night to go look at laundry center. There was a older man with glasses from the "pacific sales" side who walked over and immediately said don't buy this. You would think a sales person would try hard to sell you something your already looking at. I asked him why? He stated that I get a ton of returns on this and it's just not worth it. I then asked him about any promotions or sales currently have. He stated that all done and over. It was during the holidays. I asked him about price matching. He stated we will price match but that's it. He kept pushing that this laundry center is not what you want. After asking him about the delivery and install. Customer Service I received was Excellent!! I was helped by Kino who went the extra mile to make sure my visit experience was great.

I give the lowest possible review to Best Buy, not due to the availability of products but to the crass manner in which they handle technological issues/repairs. A customer can NEVER get through to a sales rep in the department about which she is calling or a product about which she is concerned. Instead, we must make a Geek Squad appointment, which delays discussion/resolution/repair by many days, often over a week. (This unavailability of service help is NOT related to Covid-19; this is Best Buy's regular routine.) I need my technology to be fully functional, always, so I paid extra for a 2-year warranty that should cover repairs. Of what use is it to have purchased such a warranty if life is made more complicated by a lack of service personnel and the store won't simply FIX bad equipment (in this case, a shredder, without facing the delaying tactics of the Geek Squad)? In such a case, Best Buy breaks faith with customers by avoiding, rather than outright refusing, to meet its obligations. read more

6/30/2012 I patiently have been shopping around for my first i-pad for several months now. I attempted to shop at Fry's, target, even walmart. I have many questions, I never could find a Sales Associate that was willing to assist me or one that was knowledgeable nor patient. This was not the problem at Best Buy! I came across the most helpful sales associate named Zack. Zack answered everyone of my questions concerns and had a pleasant disposition. Not once did he roll his eyes or lock at his watch. After three months of waiting I walked out of Best Buy with a new ipad and faith in the city of Oxnard Customer Service may still exist at least at Best Buy!
