This is a review from someone who swore off Best Buy, specifically this location, over a dispute about 5 years ago. my mom got me a camera for christmas, two weeks later it was on sale for $50 off what she paid for it. They didnt honor it, long story short i got pissed off and told everyone i knew not to shop there. Fast forward to present day: went in to Best Buy last night b/c i heard they were promising to match online prices from major competitors. I found a set of Astro A30's that i really wanted to get but were a bit out of my price range. I really wanted the wireless set but i didnt see them. I saw two guys in blue shirts (ding) and told them i had a quick question. The gentleman who helped me was Jeremy. He not only checked his stock but went online to see what other stores might have them and then checked to see if he could special order them for me. Ended up that they weren't available anywhere so i purchased the wired set they had in stock. I asked him if they would match prices online and he spent the next 10 minutes checking websites to see if he could get a better price. I ended up buying the headset...come to find out, he was the STORE MANAGER! This totally redeemed my faith in Best Buy. He didnt blow me off, he didnt get a regular sales associate to take over, he just took care of it. I really appreciate his effort and felt like he went above and beyond to take care of me. you just earned a customer back :) ALso to the other posters who gave 1 or 2 stars b/c the shelves were disheveled, get over yourselves. I asked rude salesman number one if he had a thunderbolt to HDMI adapter. He said that Best Buy did not have one. I then asked the salesman number two the same question. I told him that another salesman had told me that it wasn't in the store. He looked me coldly in the eye and said "if the other salesman told you something wasn't in the store you should take his word for it." I then asked salesman number three. He took me to the counter handed me the HDMI adapter and I paid for it and departed. Another bizarre customer service experience. I recommend that everyone talk to a computer expert, and then order everything online. My bet is that this company Will not be in business five years from now. CSR was NOT able to help me. . told me that I needed to bring in the tablet...you gotta be kidding me right? Didn't bother going the distance to find someone who would be able to assist me. This is not my favorite Best Buy to go to. Parking is not that great and nobody really seems to pay attention to you. This is good if you want to just browse around, though. My recent visits here have involved returns and price matching, both requiring a trip to the customer service desk. While the lines were a little long both times (after the holiday shopping season), the lines did move fast and I was able to get what I needed with little hassle. Easy enough. read more

came here to check out car stereo units. I'd been to the Best Buy in the valley (Canoga Park) and when they saw me looking at the units, I was immediately asked if I needed help.. Not here.. I had to ask someone to get someone to help me! I made eye contact with several employees who could tell I needed help, but they'd proceed to just not do anything. As soon as I was helped, The guy (Jonathan) was very helpful! so I guess the wait was worth it. I could tell he was being completely honest about the products because he wasn't only talking about the pricier stuff. we went through the purchasing process and what not.. it was smooth.. But the installation took about 2 hrs! I was told at the valley location that it's take about an hr.. so that's what I was expecting here.. I came back early and the guy wasn't even working on my car.. I'm not really sure what the installation entails.. maybe there is a process where you just have to wait? I don't know.. Oh where to begin. It seems from previous reviews we're not alone, but allow us to join the chorus of serious warnings to prospective customers to please stay away from Best Buy when purchasing washer and dryers and going through the hell we experienced with their incompetent delivery system. We ordered a washer and dryer and made clear both online and in person to a representative at the Pasadena branch that the washer/dryer was stacked (aka, one on top of the other). When the delivery man came to our home the following week, he asked if we had purchased a stacking kit. We told him we weren't aware we needed one and the driver smiled and said that we were the fourth customer that day who wouldn't be receiving their scheduled washer/dryer delivery system because Best Buy didn't inform any of us about needing this kit. We thus had to reschedule for the following week. Cut to, next Saturday. Driver arrives with a completely shattered washer! He told us the drum had fallen off, and that the door was completely destroyed. We called Best Buy and they told us we wouldn't be able to get a new washer and dryer until the following week. When I pressed them for an explanation or apology, the woman on the line was dry and defensive, saying that it wasn't their fault the machine broke because "how we're we supposed to know it was broken if it was in a box we couldn't open." I'm not even kidding, that is what she said! I couldn't help but laugh but I was also obviously upset and asked she send us a refund and cancellation immediately over email. She said that wasn't possible. We'd have to wait and call back the following day. I told her the least she could do was have a rep call us instead of us wait on their interminable hold-line to reach a representative to cancel an order they literally destroyed. The following day, they call and we ask to cancel and get a refund. We vent about how incompetent the process was, and half way through our describing of the events, the customer service person HANGS UP ON US. And we had to call the generic customer service to cancel the order. Our refund is still pending. In the meantime, we have gone to a mom and pop washer and dryer store. They were lovely, thoughtful and also are well aware of previous customers scarred by Best Buy's terrible service. We recommend everyone do their homework when looking for washer and dryers in the future. The new washer/dryer we've purchased from this local store is $800 cheaper than the one we bought at Best Buy and under the same brand. But really, this post is a warning to everyone to please STAY AWAY from their appliance store and delivery services. It's a dehumanizing process and one that no one should experience when dropping the kind of money on something as essential as a washer/dryer. I really wonder if Best Buy is eventually going to go the way of Circuit City and other megastores that have no value in customer service and attentiveness. I've lived in Pasadena my whole life and will never step foot in that store again. Please think twice before ordering from them. read more

I went to best buy this afternoon and I had many questions regarding the GoPro video recorders as well as some of the other similar products and this girl, ELODIA, is the one that was in that department and all I have to say is that this girl is not very helpful and she sure lacks customer service skills. I'm not sure if best buy is the one at fault here, most likely yes because the customer service skills from some of the other young people here is very poor as well. I purchased a dell system a few weeks ago and the guy had a "don't care attitude" as well. What this kids do is they just answer one or two questions, which they are not even sure about, then right after that you will see that they give up on you and loose interest in continue helping you. This kind of customer service really SUCKS, and most likely this is the way best buy trains them. read more

I don't usually review non food related places but I'd like to take a moment to highlight that not ALL Best Buy employees provide the same cruddy service as commonly described in the reviews preceding mine. I came in today to pick up a laptop I had ordered in store just a few days before. The transaction was quick - I got my laptop and started making my way out until Carlos, a customer service rep, stopped me in my tracks. He looked at my newly purchased laptop and informed me that I could possibly get Office 365 free for a year and that he could help me check it out. Sure enough, my purchase qualified. He said the only hassle would be that they would have to refund my original order and process the transaction again. Uh, not a problem if I get Office 365 free! I patiently waited as another employee Nick helped me re-process my transaction (it was not an easy feat - I had done some price matching, paid with some gift cards, etc. in my initial transaction.) Both employees were extremely friendly and helpful. I appreciated the employee being pro-active about informing patrons of the additional perks. I didn't need to ask AND it was after I had already made my purchase! My other experiences have been pretty good as well. I purchased a Macbook Air here during Black Friday weekend and a month after using it, it suddenly died on me. I brought it back to the store - they inspected it, asked me a few questions, and traded it out for a brand new one. No hassle! read more

I bought a Toshiba computer there November before last. I also bought the Kaspersky security and geek squad. Right away, I got a virus. I Do Not troll porn or weird shit. They were A holes about fixing it. When I got it back, I didn't turn it on for over 3 months. I hate EVERYTHING about it and windows 8. For almost the next year, I barely used it I had problem after problem A week or so ago, I was on line, and I minimized the window to change the volume, and when I put it back up it would not get on line., I called the internet company. it was not them. I called geek squad and them told me to go buy a cable to connect to the internet. YOU HAVE GOT TO BE F*CKING KIDDING ME. I was in the middle of sending a client a timely invoice and printing papers for them. I ran to best buy (WORST BUY) and intended to smash this piece of crap on the floor. First when I walked up to the desk, one guy 8 feet away told me he couldn't help.me. Not his job!! A g/s guy came out and when I told him what I wanted to do, he convinced me that I would lose everything on it, and that he could fix it quickly. I left it with him and went back to work, !0 minutes later they called me to come back and put the password in. I HAD TOLD THEM THE PASSWORD! Even written it down. I get back, and the problem is really that somehow this piece of shit had deleted and software that recognizes how to get on line. HOW THE F*CK DOES THIS HAPPEN? HE makes a contact to Microsoft to change my password?? NOT NECESSARY. I leave again. I get back to pick up my computer, they tell me, they can't find it. They want the paperwork. THERE WAS NO PAPERWORK. I AM PISSED. Then I see my computer sitting on a shelf, behind the counter. I tell the non geek squad guy that I am going to take my computer and then he CAN tell me I can't go behind the counter. YES, F*CKER, I can. I get my computer and leave. When I go get it, later that night, it is late and I don't even turn it on. The next day, I open it at 8, needing to print papers immediately. My password has been changed and I can't start my computer. I call geek squad and a girl VERY rudely tells me, tough luck, She didn't do it. I have to wait until they open at 10 to get the password to my computer. The first girl I talk to tells me they didn't do it. She puts me on hold and comes back to tell me what my new password. I was in the store to purchase a new phone. There was a promotion going on that the time where if you purchase a Samsung galaxy s 10+ you received 200 dollars off deal. I had a business account for Verizon so I could not qualify for the deal. So the best buy "Verizon Expert" told me that she had 2 loop holes for me to essentially get the same deal. one was to create a consumer plan and then merge it into the business plan so that i can qualify for the deal. The other option was to open a Best buy credit card and receive the same deal. During this time, My current "Verizon Expert" had to clock out so i was handle off to another "Verizon Expert". She continue with the procedure. I proceeded with opening the credit card. I was approved. After the fact that I opened the credit card and she was not able to process the discount of 200 dollars. Then she says that I can qualify for the deal on 06/05/2019 because Samsung's birthday was coming up. I called today 06/06/2019 to get the price adjustment. I was contacted by another person advising that i was not going to be able to receive the deal. I told him that is was not acceptable due to the fact that i now have a Best-buy credit card. if i would to manually close it myself means that i will take a credit score hit. He then proceed to say that he would have to talk the the primary contact person and get back to me. He called back and said that he can do a 100 off. I told him no so i demanded to talk to the primary person rather than having a middleman. she called me telling me that "I can me you half way" he options were to take the 100 dollar credit or return the phone with zero restock fee. I do not know how that is meeting me half way when i am still stuck with a best-buy credit card. TLDR; Tried to buy a phone for 200 dollars less. Was promised the deal upon activating a Best-buy credit card. i got approved and was not giving the deal. Now i have a credit card i didn't need. read more

I bought a 4k Samsung monitor from Best Buy online 6 months ago, and recently I found some dead pixels on the screen. I called the best buy customer service and the operator helped me make an appointment with this local store to claim the warranty for me. I brought the monitor to the geek squad for inspection, and they tried to fill up the paperwork. The entire process took approximately 50 minutes and at the end of it, they told me that the system did not allow them to submit the warranty paperwork because Samsung did not recognize this product being sold in Best Buy, which was very strange because they were still selling this monitor online as well as in-store. I end up waiting there for almost an hour and did not get anything done. read more

The customer service is non existing at this store. Ice melting moves faster than the people who "work" at this location. There were two people in front of me at the cashier line. It took over 15 minutes to finally get to the cashier. I made a comment to the cashier Alice about the slowness of service. She immediately took offense and became confrontational, saying how all the cashiers are helping customers. Duh, right. Like I said, ice melts faster than the service you get here. The associates at that store were friendly and helpful. My problem was with the store manager, Sean. On 11-2-21, I purchased a cell phone from this store and a protection plan for theft and loss. On 11-24, 3 weeks later, I returned with the intention of purchasing a new laptop. I asked Sean if I could cancel the protection plan and transfer the premium to Geek Squad for a membership so I could purchase a laptop that same day . He said " no one in my store would advise a customer not to purchase a protection plan". I have been purchasing a new cell phone every 2-3 years for the past 25 years and never did I purchase a protection plan for loss and theft. This was the first time. I thought my money could have been better spent with a Geek Squad membership. Apparently, the premium for this type of protection plan helps to boost Best Buy's bottom line. At that time, I was in dire need of a laptop. His refusal to let me cancel the protection plan so I could get a Geek Squad membership was rather short-sighted on his part. Instead of arguing with him, I went elsewhere to purchase my laptop. A saavy store manager would have placed more emphasis and priority on cultivating and promoting goodwill and customer care. Apparently, he did not care whether I was going to walk out with a laptop or not. All he cared about was hanging on to the premium from the protection plan which was already paid for. When he spoke to me, he exhibited condescending and hostile attitude and definitely not friendly. I did not expect a store manager to behave in such manner in dealing with the public. This was not the first time. I wish upper management would pay more attention to the rating, review and feedback written by its customers. Take a look at the number of stars rated by its customers. My son bought a gaming PC here. The one he wanted wasn't in stock here even though it showed on the Best Buy website that you could purchase it here. He settled for another computer. It was delivered to the store and when he tried to set it up at home, it wouldn't download anything and was extremely slow, and all of our other devices were fine. We took it back to Best Buy and exchanged it for the same model which 3 associates told us was for sale in Burbank. They did an even store exchange. After driving there today in hell Saturday afternoon traffic, the Burbank store doesn't have it and the order was cancelled due to the fact that it was unavailable. The 3 associates in Pasadena didn't bother calling to check to make sure it was there, nor did they seem to have a clue what they were doing. The Best Buy website is not dependable regarding inventory. Never buying anything from them again. Only tried it b/c they were cheaper than the IBuyPower site but never again. It's a Best Buy surrounded by a lot of other retail stores. If your goal is to go to many places in one visit, go here. It has all of the usual Best Buy appliances, computers, etc. Nothing remarkable about it at all and normally I'd say it's a 3-star except: They do lose a star because there is a strict no dogs (I run errands to Petsmart across the plaza) that other Best Buy stores do not observe. It doesn't serve food (obviously), so leave your pooch at home because the manager doesn't like dogs in her store. read more

I have bought all my electronic products for the last 5 years from this store including my GoPro Hero 4, PS4, Apple Laptop, and Sony camera. If you are planning on spending a lot of money on one of these products, I suggest Costco over Best Buy anyday. My 50" Vizio TV would not turn on. I had it for less than a year. The customer service is unreliable and would not respect the one year warranty. I asked for the geek squad manager because they would not help. The manager Jessica was very rude as she approached customer service. She was being rude and disrespectful to me, and the thing that is crazy is I had a one year warranty and they would not respect it. Jeff was extremely knowledgeable & you could tell he has a love for tv & audio equipment. I didn't feel like he was trying to sell me the most expensive thing... it felt like he was trying to give me the best product because I could tell he knew what he was talking about. This place is a decent place to shop this review is for one of their employees that deserves to be fired for extreme rudeness. I was in the mobile department asking about my upgrade and the person that was helping me his name was Alex was not friendly and impatient. He kept trying to force me to change to some mobile share plan and was pressuring me telling me if I don't change there was nothing he can do for me. He made me feel as if I was stupid and incompetent with his looks and the way he was speaking to me. I also noticed him being extremely rude to his fellow employees. If anyone does shop here I recommend talking to anyone but Alex if he's rude to his customer and co workers and seems to be upset working at best buy he should just quit and find another job instead of making customers frustrated and upset. read more
