DON'T EVER USE THE 0% INTEREST PROGRAM!! Don't ever use the credit card 0% interest promotion. They purposely don't send out the statements to make you late so you lose the promotional offer because it automatically voids if you make one late payment but if you don't have the statement or know when/where to send it, and you call to get it, they can't/won't help you. You must wait for it and even if you call early, it arrives late. It's easy to forget to call soon enough or since you don't know the due date, you may call a day too late - but even if you call early to avoid it, by the time they do send the statement, it's always late so it auto-switches to high interest. No one will help you at Capital One or HSBC fix it afterwards even if you made early payments. They return them without an account number and won't give you your account number over the phone. It's a scam. You have to call over and over to finally reach that department and they are so busy with this problem, they don't answer or call back. I sent early payments without the statement; they didn't post it and wouldn't post it since I didn't have my new account number. Instead, they posted it to my old account since I couldn't get the new account number then charged over $1000 in interest on a $2800 purchase. No one will fix it - I've called 22 times, faxed 6 times, no one fixes anything. Another time, I didn't have my card so the salesman opened up a new account but I thought he was looking up my curremt account. So I began making payments to my account early since I never got a statement and was determined to not get that late fee and lose the 0% interest. But since they changed the account number ( I didn't know it b/c they never sent a statement and wouldn't give it to me over the phone but they left off the unit # on my address so I wasn't getting the statements). They posted to my old account with a 0 balance but sent the new account to collections and ruined my credit - it went from 800 to 583 b/c they barrage your credit. I called and faxed for months and could get no one to change anything or help fix it even though it was their mistake and they still haven't or won't fix it though I made early and regular payments. One of my payments disappeared into cyberspace and was withdrawn from my bank but didn't post. No one will help me fix that. Then after making early payments, they started returning the payments, refusing to take them, b/c they closed my old account b/c it had a 0 balance but didn't return the $700 in payments that I'd made and I still don't know where my payments have gone. Though I've faxed and called, they refuse to transfer to credit to my new account and said that account was closed yet they never informed me it was closed until after all this started. It's truly like Alice in Wonderland... and no one will lift a finger to do anything about it. That's the worst part. It's been almost a year and I'm still in collections, making regular payments and they won't take it out. Even the collection agency feels bad for me but can't get HSBC Capital One to respond. I've never gone online to write these before but there is a specific person I wanted to call out because the service was exceptional, and I have to share the story. My wife and I were buying appliances after a few of ours had become aged, and needed replacement. For years we have shopped at this Best Buy and I've consistently gone to one person for assistance. When we first met Paul Ellis, he was in his third day as a new Supervisor for Cameras and Gaming. We bought a new DSLR from him and found his sense of humor and care for customers refreshing. He shared with us personal experiences with his family which includes 4 teenage daughters and we had for the first time in our experience in Best Buy, a good time. Some years later, we went back for a cell phone and Paul had been relocated to the Supervisor of the Mobile department. He helped us get an unbelievable deal, and we walked away again with disbelief as to how lucky Best Buy was to have an employee like him. When we went back for our appliances, we weren't expecting to bump into the Mobile supervisor, but Paul was wearing a black Pacific Sales shirt instead. He explained that his career path had taken him this direction, which surprised me because he was so good at the other two areas. Paul was extremely knowledgable in the appliances area as well, which was not at all surprising. He guided us through what would inevitably be a kitchen remodel, spoke with our contractor to verify the specs on what we were buying, and at the end, made us a deal that we couldn't say no to. But all of that aside, you could tell that Paul cared about us, and our situation, we weren't just another face in the store or another sale to be made. He took the time to understand where we were coming from, and walked us through a difficult purchase while making the whole thing easy. Finding good people in stores like this where kids get paid double the rate they are usually worth because they have no clue about how to run a business, it's refreshing to get an associate interaction to the extent that we received with Paul. I'd highly reccomended him for anything in Appliances or basically anywhere else in the store. read more

Review: Significant Service Failures at the Pasadena Location Overall Rating: I am writing this to warn others about the substandard customer service and poor facility management at this Pasadena store. As a long-term customer who has spent thousands of dollars here on home appliances, smartphones, and laptops, the treatment I received was unacceptable compared to the high standards of other area locations. Inadequate Facilities Upon arrival, I found that both the men's and women's restrooms were closed to the public. Rather than apologizing for the inconvenience, staff directed me to use the facilities at nearby businesses like Chipotle or Starbucks. It is unprofessional for a major retailer to expect neighboring businesses to provide basic amenities for their own customers. Obstructive Management & Staff My primary issue involved a simple return of a smartphone. While I have always received stellar support from the Geek Squad and teams at other Best Buy stores, this location was intentionally difficult. The Conflict: I was erroneously told I was exactly "one day outside the return window". The Response: The staff and management (specifically Cori) acted as gatekeepers-mentality rather than good-customer-service-advocates. They refused to even try, nevermind an attempt a system override or simply look for a solution, flatly denying the return and telling me to "try my home store" instead. The Contrast: I followed their advice and went to a nearby location Montebello. The experience was night and day. The staff at the Montebello store were courteous and professional; they resolved my issue and processed the return immediately without any resistance. I was not a day outside the company policy. Conclusion This Pasadena branch is a weak link in the chain. Regrettable. When a customer with a significant purchase history seeks assistance, they should be met with a "service-first" attitude, not technicalities, falsely making up company policy, and redirection. I highly recommend driving the extra few miles to a different location where your business is valued. read more

Consultant JONATHAN GRAYSON avoided to tell the costumer that the Total Tech Membership discount of $200 is a trap!! DON'T join Total Tech membership if you're just doing it for the discount of your any purchase (which the consultant recommended me) because when you cancel the membership, you will only have one year manufacture warranty (from LG, not Best Buy). And it'll be EXTREMELY HARD to buy warranty from Best Buy for your refrigerator. I tried 5 hours on the phone for many times to be transferred to the Sales Department, and I got HUNG UP by the Sales Department for 3 times for NO REASONS. And according to the Customer Service, (which doesn't even help at all), phone call is the only way that I can purchase the warranty since the staff at store cannot purchase the warranty for me on the system because I canceled the membership.(which the consultant avoided to tell me the consequences that it's super difficult to purchase another warranty, which doesn't connected to membership) You'll have to autopay $200 a year for Total Tech Membership. Comparing with the 5-year Geek Squad protection, you only pay $120 a year. I'm very disappointed with the consultant, JONATHAN GRAYSON who promised to deal with my warranty, made me wait for 2 weeks, and then disappeared. I'm very angry about the rude SALES DEPARTMENT, hanging up on customers for no reasons. The most terrible is the stupid customer service system from Best Buy. This review is more for BEST BUY as a company, rather than one particular location. They used to be a very good place to shop, but in recent years they are better at advertising than actual selling. Sound strange? They use basic tactics to get customers to their stores...or to their website. The tactic most commonly used the last year or so is advertising a really good/popular item really cheap...then when you get there they are "sold out". This practice has been used by many stores on Black Friday...by car dealers on many holidays and weekends...and now by Best Buy nearly every day of the year with their "flash sales". I am tired of getting lured in by Best Buy to their store or website only to be told that many of the items for sale are sold out even minutes after the store opens or an online sale begins. It seems very shady to me. Today I actually watched the email drop into my inbox and clicked buy right away and it was sold out...?? What makes things worse is that in a week or less, we will see that item available for sale online at the regular price, so it was not sold out...they just limited the quantities so not everyone can get it at the sale price, terrible!! I asked the customer service representative why even bother sending me an email if you only have like 2-3 items available for the whole country...terrible practices by a company going the way of Circuit City, Comp USA, and others who pulled the same scams... Best Buy thinks it can upset 1000's of people or more per week and it won't affect their company...we'll see... read more

I recently had an incredibly frustrating experience at a certain establishment, and I feel compelled to write this review to warn others about the abysmal customer service I encountered. From the moment I walked in through the front entrance, I was met with an unhelpful employee who seemed completely disinterested in answering any of my questions. Instead of offering assistance or guidance, he simply directed me to someone else, which was incredibly unprofessional. The checkout line was even worse. Consideration for the fact that it was the post-Christmas period, with many customers attempting returns and exchanges, seemed to be completely overlooked. Instead of adding more employees to meet the increased demand, the thinly-staffed registers added to the chaos. The lack of support and poor organization left customers frustrated and dissatisfied. To make matters worse, the employees at the checkout were incredibly rude and rushed. It seemed as though they were more concerned about moving customers along quickly than providing proper customer service. This sped-up process only intensified the feeling of being undervalued as a customer. Overall, the customer service I received at this establishment was undoubtedly the worst I have ever experienced. The unhelpfulness, lack of care, and rushed atmosphere painted a picture of a business that does not prioritize its customers. This review is for Best Buy employee Joseph. After checking in at AT&T nearby, I came here to purchase a new TV, entertainment stand and Blu-Ray DVD player. Joseph asked how he can help right away and I knew somewhat what I wanted. I saw an entertainment stand I wanted but it was almost $300, I saw one that was $100 that was smaller but similar. He was able to suggest one that was in stock in the back and was able to show me a picture of it in a booklet he had with him. It was perfect! I wanted the most affordable TV that was 50" and he showed me one for $600. I wanted a DVD player and he gave me options, explained in detail the differences with each one, answered all my questions and really helped me decide. He rang everything up and it totaled no joke $800. He gave me a $60 discount since I was buying 3 items. No wait time, got the car and he loaded all the products and I was done in 20min from entering the store to leaving it! After that I went to AT&T (see review) and couldn't believe purchasing 1 phone would be harder than purchasing high end electronics but that just proves that it's not so much the product that's important but the sales representative's representation of that company and it's product that is key to future customer loyalty. read more

I just had a great experience here in the car audio installation department. I recommend coming here for your car audio service. I had previously purchased a set of front door speakers, online from a competitor, for my hybrid Ford Escape after auditioning them online. they also sent me a PDF of the instructions to do the installation myself. Even though the instructions appeared to be easy and straight forward, as I used to install, repair and maintain large mainframe computers a long time ago. As a matter of fact just down the street at what is now the 24 hour Fitness Club. I used to work in the same building as a computer technician, which at that time was owned by Burroughs Corporation, which manufactured mainframe computers there. So technically this should've been a cakewalk for me. But . . . my better logic told me to let the car electronics experts handle it. The speaker replacement took less than an hour. I didn't want to do it myself and overlook something. Rene checked out all the switches and car functions before starting on the task. He pointed out an issue for me to look into ahead of time, which was great. Thank you Best Buy for great service. I recommend coming here and asking for Rene and Eddy. read more

yesterday sunday, my son and his dad arrived at best-buy arrived and went to look at the room of speakers and after a few minutes an employee arrived and asked them if they need help and his dad answered in english that they were only looking for now,to whom the employee answered saying that if they wanted to hear the speakers that were looking and my husband answered that in english,the employee told you how much money do you bring? the employee was very rude and told them to please come out of there that they were going to close that place of speakers. and they did not say anything and came out and know why they did not say anything ??why your dad of my son understand english but does not speak it and could not defend and when my son asked him that had been treated so the employee his dad do not supposed to say my son got very sad and crying he told me that why had them treated in that way if they had money ?? my son is only 12 years old,they have been humiliated by the employee and my husband feels frustrated by not being defended by the language, my son was very bad for what happened and why he could not defend his dad because they had never passed a situation as well.......... read more

I went to return a brand new headphone that was a christmas gift , the customer service refused and saying I do not have a reciept, and only 15 days after christmas they take merchandise witout reciept, it was about 20 days or so. Then asked for manager , this guy "Juan" showed up with grim attitude I explianed to him that gift reciever has no notion of what it is post christmass policy, and there are no large sign posted, (mind it for that you have to visit the store for that info) Juan the manager made this attack mode face and refused with bitter response. The irony is that the headphone was only $20.00 and was in original box and customer service had located the item in the system and they could have easily reshelved the item. So to me the behavior of manager was totally unacceptable. My advice is not to buy anything from this store, my only recommendation is to buy from bestbuy online only. Mr. Afshar I recomend either pay higher salaries to attract more educated manager with a decent degree at you brick&morter stores who know how to respectfully deal with customers, or setup customer feedback kiosk regarding personal in the store. read more

I have been shopping for a new TV for the past 3 weeks and have spoken to several people at different location for advice. After doing my research online and in various locations I finally stopped by the Pasadena Bestbuy store after work. As I was looking at the set I was interested in purchasing I was greeted by a young gentlemen named Johnathan Sicat from the Magnolia department. This is where the experience became outstanding. Johnathan confirmed most of my research and explained, in great detailed facts and information about the TV I was looking at. At no point was I pressured into making a decision or annoyed with a sales pitch. When I had questions Johnathan was quick with valuable information. My plan that day was to go in and simply see in person the TV I wanted to buy before making a final decision that night. I was so blown away by level of service and information I received at this location I went ahead and made my purchase fully confident that TV I was purchasing was the right fit for my budget and wants. INSTALLATION DISASTER!!!!! I purchased a zline-36-inche-externally-vented-convertible-wall-range-hood from Best Buy and had it installed by Best Buy on Dec 9, 2023. Last Friday, May 9, I returned home from work to find that the hood had broken loose from the wall and crashed to the floor. If I had been standing at the stove when this occurred, I would have been killed. When I called Best Buy to describe what had happened and inquire if they would come out to remount the hood I was told that they only guarantee their workmanship for 90 days and that it would cost $199 to have them remount it. I thanked them and did a hard pass. I hired a trusted workman to do the job. He charged me $50 and pointed out that the Best Buy installer had not used any dry wall anchors! They had simply used screws to mount the hood by drilling them into the drywall. He said it was a miracle that the hood didn't simply fall off the wall sooner. Beware of Best Buy's service department and NEVER hire them to install anything. Especially if it's mounted on drywall! read more

This review is for Geek Squad and customer support. I bought a Whirlpool washer here which was defective when it was delivered. The Geek Squad agent told me it was a so-called exclusive item and that I would have to call Whirlpool to request a repair of my just delivered washer. They would not cover a simple replacement saying I have to come into the store during these covid-19 times and talk to the store manager. When I balked at this they said maybe I could call and talk to the manager and maybe they could help me, maybe. I considered this to be B. S. I contacted my nephew who works for Best Buy in a different store and he easily arranged for exchange of my washer. He told me they have a no questions asked exchange policy. So I don't understand why the phone agent named Trixie was giving me such a hard time. It's buyer beware even in these difficult times. Stay safe people read more

While I'm extremely happy with my current HiFi music listening setup, curiosity got the best of me and I was curious to see what premium integrated amp brands Best Buy carries. Ian is very knowledgeable and took the time to ask questions about my particular setup so that he may have an idea of which amp could potentially be a wonderful match. I was pleased when he asked what genre of music I listen to so that he could try and demo relevant products. As we got to talking, I discovered that we both also have other common interests outside of HiFi audio! Ian, if you're reading this, keep doing what you're doing! This place gets two stars for convenience. I personally don't like the changes that have been made to store and it seems like there are even LESS people working there. I try to save myself the trouble of going by getting stuff from newegg but sometimes I need to make a quick stop here. I honestly won't be surprised if this place closes in the coming year or so. 99% of the employees that you find walking around don't even bother to help you. I'm not someone who needs help right when I enter a store but if I ask for it I expect to receive help! I used to love coming here when I was younger but it's going downhill. If you can get your electronic devices somewhere else I would do that and save yourself the unpleasant trip to this Best Buy. read more

My computer had a broken screen (long story), and, since I didn't know where to take it, I thought I'd be safe with the Geek Squad at Best Buy. I made an appointment, brought my computer in, waited ten minutes (I figured that was going to happen), and showed the problem to the technician who was assigned to me. He looked at the computer, told me that the cracked screen wasn't my only problem, and gave me a repair estimate of $400. Then he told me that I should buy a new laptop instead. Funny coincidence: they just happened to be in a big store that sold new laptops. I'm a nice guy, and my friends say I'm way too easy to rip off. Not this time. I'm done with my BEST BUY credit card. I have spent the last hour trying to figure out how to get it to download to my quicken. I had it all set up and workng in the past and then it quit working. I called customer service, the girl on the other end said she had never heard of Quicken. (First clue). I explained what it was and that I had used it in the past to download my transactions but it was not working. She contacted tech support (who would not even get on the phone with me) and they told her BEST BUY doesn't support quicken. SERIOUSLY???? She said they recently made some updates. I am grateful that there is still a technology brick and mortar store in town where I can go ask questions. The tech that I needed didn't meet my needs and I took it back past its due date and they were still gracious and allowed me to exchange for other items. I was grateful for this concession. Their tech squad is definitely better than the other big office store in the area and reasonable for the work they do. Sometimes the staff seem a little unhappy but in general a great store with a great group of people. Again happy with all the online options, that I can still walk in and get help. I would appreciate a little more choice in the inventory but can still get what i need when I walk in. read more

It's amazing that you can have a store full of demo items, and none of them work. Why would I buy a laptop when I try it out and the only thing it lets me do is watch a demo video? So lame. With that said, Best Buy always has a nostalgia factor that'll keep me coming until they go out of business. Who doesn't remember the halcyon days of their youth when they'd go in and look at CDs and DVDs they'd like to buy someday. Silly young version of me who couldn't predict that this thing called the Internet would make physical media obsolete. I mean, do kids even make mix tapes for their significant others?
