I went into Pinole Best Buy this afternoon frustrated with a recent purchase. Talha was at the front desk area when I came in. He asked me what my issue was and within 2 minutes he fixed it. 2 minutes, let that sink in. He was the most kind and engaging. He called Kevin to the front of the store and Kevin walked me back and we finished what needed to be done. I always purchase all my large and small appliances at BestBuy and I will continue. Worst customer service center ever. Tried to buy a dash cam. The only way to deal with Best Buy is through their offshore customer service center. I had a specific tech question to ask and installer about my specific car, not just the model and make. I was told that nobody can ever talk to a store directly. I was offered a price with free installation so I had them send the invoice. I tried to call the store directly and spoke to a different customer rep. Who told me that the first price was wrong and tried to charge me for installation. His excuse was "the first guy didn't know what he was doing. " as far as I'm concerned, whoever is running the offshore customer service line doesn't know what he/she/they are doing. The last time I tried to order an installable item they told me I would have to pick it up from one store and take it 40 miles to the store that could possibly install it. My experience was good, bad then good. When I walked in a friendly guy asked me what I needed help with. I needed a charging cable for my dad's tablet. He pointed to the correct area across the store and said he would send someone over to help me. I found the cable section and waited. It didn't look like they carried what I needed but who knows, maybe it would work out. Twice there were employees in the near vicinity that I looked towards hopefully, but nope, heading to the back, maybe on a break. Didn't make eye contact. After a third person walked by, looking like she was coming back from lunch and needed to put away her stuff, I headed back up front. 3 employees now at the front door. I explained what happened and Reina, the general manager identified my dad's tablet as an RCA and they didn't carry a charger that would fit. Recommended going to the RCA website. I appreciated getting a direct, clear response even if it didn't help me. Because at least I could move on and search for other options. By June 17, there was no delivery, and Best Buy's online system only said it was "delayed", with no specific date to expect delivery. When I called Best Buy customer service, the service rep said, and I quote, "it's on a truck somewhere but we can't give you a tracking". What. How is this possible today? I cancelled the order. They didnt have the item in the werehouse. l bought a floor model in the store less than a mile from my house! l also came to find out was defective. Not Lovely! or transparent! Not honest! l cancelled the order bought with Best Buy credit card and am still being charged 55$ for l don't know what. can't get ahold of customer service which states on the web is available 24/ 7. More lies. l tried to contest the charge w/ credit card but because it is a best ( l mean ) worst buy card lm yet to see results. I don't know where to begin, as I walked in, I saw an employee approaching, I flagged him (we were about 15 ft away), he responded "WHAT'S UP", that's a start of my experience Miscommunication by Kevin R., on Sunday 4/19/2026 he toured me to see which refrigerator I will be getting, he then didn't match Home Depot price of $100 because the excuse was that it is a different model number due to HD exclusive, he didn't even use my $10 certificate that I had earned on my account, he also informed me that I can call the next day and add the hauling to the order, as long as I do it before 8pm on Monday, poor service, bad management by David Q.....who also promised to call me after the delivery because he didn't want to adjust anything on my purchase and mess it up again!! Never heard from him either Used car salesmen is the bottom line 800# in home/ delivery person changed my delivery without my consent I emalied Allison P in the headquarters but she apparently has no time for me to reply to my email not even a "Thank you" acknowledgement! Then I filed a complaint to the BBB for their continued mess up with a long time customer, got a call back from the executive office "Style" who also promised after the delivery he'll take care of pricing! Not telling me that he will offer Best Buy gift card, instead of a discount? Well, let's talk about the delivery team, they wouldn't want to install the new fridge before I called a plumber because the Big Muscles guy "Ricardo" couldn't turn off the valve, so I recommended to shut the main water, have them disconnect and haul away, he refused and call his supervisor complaining about me because I (68 years old) was able to turn it off, clean up the area and reconnect the fridge with no drop leakage, well but wait there's more; Mr. Style called & emalied me of their offer which I already refused to begin with because I advised them that I will cut Best Buy out of my life and tell 100 people from my community not to shop there, especially at the Pinole branch I can tell you all more details but I guess you got the just of my frustration read more

had the worst experience in this Pinole store this morning. I bought a Verizon prepaid phone from them 2 days ago. When i opened the box the day after, upon opening the box, inside was a broken, camera lens was all cracked, smartphone. So I went back, the very next day (Today) to return and ask for an exchange for the same phone. (I wasn't asking for a refund or anything, just wanted the item that I paid for). After getting to returns, it was looked at by the lost prevention lady (very mean look on her face) and commented "this looked like it was dropped" and I explained to her, I open the box and that's what came with it. I just wanted another phone because that's what I paid for. She took the phone and talked to her manager and came back, stated "you gonna have to file a claim with Motorola for this phone, we're not going to be able to take it back" I was "what! You guys sold me a damage phone and you people won't exchange it for the right one" again, she commented "this doesn't look like it was damage during shipping more like it was dropped" The sheer attitude this lady was giving and keep implying that I broke the phone, where she could easily just swapped it with the same kind of phone for $43 and some change. Chose not to when I'm clearly a victim. In frustration I told her "you know what, keep the phone and my receipt, did not know this best buy doesn't have any consumer relation experience, this is ridiculous" Since when did stores stop doing exchange when the item they sold to us is damage or defective? Or was it because I looked young and what they do is give us "young"'people the brush off or the cold shoulder for stuff like this. I remember, customers can Exchange an item they bought from Best Buy and exchange it if it's damage or defective. No question ask and/or an employee voice out their personal opinion (That's just down right rude and call me a liar while your at it, Ms. Lost Prevention lady). This Best Buy is something else. So be careful what you buy from this store. To them, as a customer, doing a return, apparently we are liars in their eyes. That's their first initial thought. Our microwave decided to stop working suddenly a few days before Thanksgiving, causing a sudden panic in which we needed to find either a replacement built-in unit, or a countertop that would fit the exact space and brackets our previous built-in microwave utilized. After some exhaustive searching both online and in-store at various other competitors, we finally resorted to coming to Best Buy to see what they had to offer. While none of the models on display fit both the dimensional requirements and bottom stand shape to be able to fit into the existing brackets within the cabinetry space provided, they had one microwave left that no longer had a display unit to examine that would for sure at least work for the dimensional requirements. We were desperate at this point and were just hoping to be able to MacGyver the microwave onto the existing brackets. But as it turned out once we brought the unit home and opened it up, that it fit EXACTLY into the bracket space and had a nearly identical base as our previous unit! A true holiday miracle! Most of the associates on the floor seemed to all be off in their own groups talking to themselves, so we did have to go hunt for assistance. But they were very friendly once approached. The store also had a distinct lack of shopping carts despite the minimal foot traffic in the store while we were there, so there appeared to only be 2 carts in total available to use. read more

A bait and switch. Talked on the phone with Geek Squad. I was told that to transfer programs and files from old to new pc would be $99. I twice asked "this is all programs, not just files" and was told yes twice. When I got to the store they said that they only transfer files. That it is $40 extra per program to transfer. When I told them what I had been told they said that the person on the phone didn't know the store policy. Even though it is all Geek Squad. I talked to the store manager and he said that he would waive the fee for one program. I left the store. read more

The radio install fellas did a great job installing my new stereo. I appreciated that they called to confirm my appointment and to ensure that I had all the necessary components for a smooth installation. I had some issues with scheduling and utilizing my Total Tech Package to cover the cost of the installation. Fortunately, they offered a solution and saved me a lot of money. Thanks for the diligence. The install took around 2.5 hours. I was able to wait inside the store where it was warm and use the free WiFi. Buying the Total Tech package paid off in the long run. In a year's time I was able to have the following services done for free or at a discounted rate: *Two radio installations *2 amp and subwoofer installations *TV Wall Mount ($50) My radio works fine and if anything goes wrong I know it covered under Best Buy's warranty. This was my BEST experience in a Best Buy ever. When my wife and I arrived at the store we had an appointment with the Geek Squad because we are on the Geek Squad plan. We were half an hour early so we decided to look around the store until our appointment time was set. While we were looking at items on the shelf we were approached by an employee named Dezi, Who is amazingly helpful and informative with a bright young lady. Her personality was amazing it's very engaging and inviting and made this feel extremely comfortable in the store. We talked about my intention of considering getting a new laptop and a disk displayer that I can listen to some of my old C d's on. Our time came for getting together with a Geek Squad tech named Benjamin M. Again I felt this Tech person listened closely to what we had to say about the reason we were there, and gave us some good information about our product our cell phones, and personally connected us to an individual that could specifically help us with our problem in the store. Wonderful. It was here that we met Tai. His knowledge of cellphone products by various companies was incredibly impressive. And he was very patient with us because this is not our comfort zone and we're sure to explain everything carefully so we could do some of our maintenance at home in the future. Usually when you go into a business you can always get a feeling when you think that someone is being in a hurry to take care of you by how quickly they want to want to pass it on to you to take care of. He stayed with us patiently from beginning to end and put it in common parlance where we could understand everything that he said he said. What a great guy is great guy. We left feeling confident that we would be able to follow his advice at home and save the big problems for these guys. They get a solid 5 stars for customer service product knowledge and resolution of problems. Everyone we talk to gave us that impression and we got smiles and hellos from people passing by that were working there that evening. Kudos to the manager for having such a great team. I went to this store to get a SIM card for my Nokia phone. The guy they asked to help me was very helpful, but in the back of my mind I wondered about his knowledge of the product. he recommended a card, but he called it a plan. the plan is from a company called simple mobile out of Miami Fla. surprise surprise, he sold me the wrong card ! it didn't even fit my phone. no worries, I went back the next day to get a refund and try another store. another surprise-out of my $ 28 dollars spent they only offered to refund me 1 dollar. that's right 1 dollar. when I protested, they gave me the number of "simple mobile" and gave me a few phony, "sorry sir" s. the guy who sold me the "plan" was up at the register and bighting back on his laughter. I just got hustled by best buy and their simple friend from Miami. the customer service lady from simple mobile, a denizen of the Indian sub continent hung up on me after telling me to go back to the store where I made the purchase. 4/11/23 - My phone went dead. I have Tmobile and went to their store and they told me since it was an Apple phone they couldn't do anything. I should eitehr go to the Apple store (which is far) or to Best Buy up the road. I go to Best Buy - eventually I find out I have to go to the geek squad area. I get a guy named Nikko who asks if I have an appointment which I do not, I didn't know you needed one. I tell him I just want to find out if my battery is dead or if my phone died. He says "I'll take a look." Ten minutes later he comes and tells me it's just my charger. In the meantime a LONG line of people with and without appointments has gathered behind me. I came here because Target blew it! I ordered something to pick up and was told that they didn't have it, after I paid for it. Hmmm... My item was available for 10 more dollars and I smelled a scam. So I found the price here with the original pricing, ordered it, and picked it up. Easy, no? Well, not so dramatic, but to order an item for $29.99, be told after I pay for it (two hours later) that my order has been cancelled because it doesn't exist and find out that it's still available for $38.99. For the exact same product. Talk about a bait and switch! But these guys were here, and that's all that counts!!! Pick up was a bit tricky because I don't have a membership, but I got a text and could use that to tell the person where I was. The young man came to my car with my purchase, I showed him the code and he put it in the back seat. This is the fastest I've received an item. At target, I'm going to be waiting for awhile, even when I've just ordered the item. Anyway, Best Buy has a new customer, before shopping at T-bags, I'm going to check here first and then pick up. Which was awesome . But When my daughters laptop went out during the remote school house learning in May I tried to find a laptop that I could pick up same day. I tried several Best Buy's in the East Bay and there was no available inventory . Everything was going to take 5 days to pickup. So we called several times and they never picked up. So I ended calling Office Depot and just like that got a great laptop at 60 % off a really great one! Hope they improve eventually ! read more

Corporate service policy STINKS and wastes customers' time. I took a laptop in for a simple monitor problem. Web research indicated 2 or 3 possible problems, alone or in combination. The Geek Squad suggested sending it out for repair at a charge of ~$30. About 1-2 was. later, I was told to call the service people who wanted my permission to fix the problem, which would come to ~50% of what I paid for it ~3 yrs. ago. I gave them permission to fix the issue. After Christmas day, I received a text to call the Service people again. This time to inform me that the vendor that they chose to supply the part needed for the repair has not delivered the part. The service department indicated that if the part has not shipped by Jan. 5, 2024, they will return the laptop unprepared. On Jan.6, 3024, I received a text to pick up my laptop. Upon pickup, I discovered that the laptop was unprepared. Some suggestions: Inform the customer when asking permission to perform the more expensive repair that there are no parts available in stock and/or an ETA for the parts' arrival so the customer can make alternate arrangements for service. DO NOT advise the customer to resend the item back to service so they can "try again." This is both a waste of money, time and insulting. read more

Our old all-in-one Lenovo crashed suddenly and we were in a panic because there was data on it that had not been backed up. We went in on July 2 and the staff were very helpful. We bought a new Lenovo for a good price and we were able to pick it up on Friday (July 4!) The Geek squad kept our old computer and said they would do their best to save the data from the old hard drive ("it might take a while, no guarantees") but the expert on data saves would be coming also July 4. We bought an external drive, left it with them, and kept our fingers crossed. On the evening of July 5 we got an email that said the old computer was ready for pickup. We really appreciated that they notified us IMMEDIATELY, and we picked it up within an hour. AND HURRAY! The data was successfully saved onto the external drive that we had left with them. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the team at Best Buy in Pinole. They were straight-forward, courteous, competent, and very professional. read more
