I'm sharing this for awareness. I submitted 18 cards for PSA grading to this GameStop consisting of pack fresh Japanese Secret Rares (high value cards) back in January of this year. I paid $244 for the submission. I submitted them because I felt they would grade highly. Over 45 days passed. One day, I received a call from GameStop Corporate stating my cards were lost during the Fedex transit and that they would compensate me at market value plus the cost for submission. This was determined to be $483 (so $239 value for 18 cards). I felt this was quite the low ball considering the cards I sent in were pack fresh with higher chances for grading well. They informed me that's all they could give me. This was infuriating. The lack of consideration from this company is ridiculous. But I'm sore out of luck. If you're considering submitting through GameStop, please keep this in mind. There is risk involved here. Whether the cards were stolen by a GameStop employee or FedEx employee, I have no idea. But there is a lack accountability held on their part. Good luck and stay safe. read more

Submitted 2 separate orders for PSA grading, both got mailed the same day but only 1 made it to PSA and after 5 months of waiting and multiple inquiries, they told me Fed Ex "lost" it. It's just such a coincidence that they "lost" the most expensive card/order and the cheap ones got sent. Do not do it, if you do, make sure your cards are cheap. Don't submit the expensive one because it'll get "lost" in the mail... read more

I been going to this Gamestop since 1998. I have gotten my Playstation, Playstation 2, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and Xbox One games from this location. I have gotten generation of my games here. What is good about this Gamestop location...GOOD SERVICE! I ask a question and I was able to get an answer in return. I do admit that I could be annoying when asking questions. They were polite in answering any questions that I had. I will confess that I have brought in chips from Taqueria Maria inside Gamestop. Luckily I wasn't booted out for leaving crumbs. This Gamestop and Taqueria Maria are the only stores that have survive from the late 1990s. 20 years later they are still in business. I will come back to this location to trade in my games and have questions for them to ask. read more

Game stop in Hilltop has customer service that can't even compete with the checkout page of Amazon.com. That said, if you hate video games, customer service and hygiene then this is the place for you! P.S. ask them if you can pre-order somebody who cares about their job. read more

I stopped by before Halloween to look for a Meowth plush for a costume, which Google Shopping suggested was in stock at this store. After looking around, I couldn't find it. Tatianna, the assistant manager, wound up checking the online inventory, the storage room, and the plush bin again for me before looking up its availability at nearby stores and asking another Gamestop to put the plush on hold for me. Sadly, I couldn't make it to that location on time, but really appreciated how proactive and nice she was. --Definitely didn't walk in expecting such great customer service. read more

This store provides best customer service assistance in Bay Area. I was helped by Andre on July 6th. I often purchase Gold Razor game cards. He was very professional and knowledgeable about GameStop points and had calm patience in walking through downloading the app onto mobile device and showed me and took time to help redeemed some points for my purchase. This ugly witch looking confused thing they hired to half ass assist customers told us you can't trade a game if it's still in the plastic wrapper?! That is either the dumbest store policy ever or it was his/her made up policy. We got a duplicate game with a PS4 bundle package and because we obviously knew we had the game already we didn't open it. Some things make sense and some things sound made up. I like this GameStop. Not because it's the closest to home because Lord knows I would go out of my way to avoid that place and go to the same store but in a different area. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. I took in my Xbox Elite controller for a trade in and the employee told me straight up that Microsoft don't make my specific controller anymore and more valuable on the street than what the store can offer me. It retailed for $150 when I first got it. This day when I took it (year later) he was only able to offer me $50 so that's when he informed me about it. He mentioned OfferUp, Craigslist, and LetGo. He was correct. I put it on OfferUp and sold it for $100 the very next day. That shows how much they care about their customers. This game stop is the worst game stop around. They have horrible customer service and will do whatever they feel like. It doesn't matter what the company policy is, if they feel like messing with you they will. I have come to this store a few times to make pre orders to be told I'm limited to just one item when I see people before me ordering 5 or more. I only want two preorders bit they will only give it to their friends. Worst game stop in the area, I recommend any other location. read more

Purchased a Nintendo Switch for a birthday gift on 1/23/23 (two days ago). Red joy con was defective, so went in for a return today. Michelle, the only associate I saw in the store, was going to do a return and then said never mind. Company policy is since it was opened (and she kept mentioning that it was purchased two days ago), they could only do a trade in. Asked her what that meant, she said they can take the return but the refund would be less than what I paid for. I asked her how much? The trade in refund she gave me was $121 less than what I paid for, TWO DAYS AGO! WHAT A JOKE! I said that is bs, and took my Switch to another GameStop. This store sucks I'm surprised it made it through the worst of the Pandemic. Sadly it's the only one near me beside the one in Richmond. First off the lady at the cash register is extremely rude. She always has a attitude when you ask her something. I went a few months ago when Sony and GameStop had a special where if you trade in your ps4 you'll get a lot for trading it. Well this is the only store that didn't. They tried scamming me by saying they didn't know what I was talking about. I showed them the email they didn't care. They didn't even want to give me a trade in price. Luckily their machine was broken so I had time to think about it for a few days. I decided to go over to the one in Richmond and they gave me an offer of $300 for the console. Before I said yes I took it over to this place and they only offered me $180! This is a GameStop in a part of town that doesn't have many reasonable options for games (there are department stores nearby, but they always have a very limited and rather trash selection). I will often stop here if I'm nearby, but usually don't buy anything. The store is well organized so its easy to browse and they carry games for the modern consoles (current and last-gen), as well as a lot of merchandise and some shirts as well. Obviously, since this is a GameStop, there are no imports, but they will carry localized games. I wish their selection of localized games were larger though, it goes up and down, but sometimes there are very few to choose between, or its all stuff that I already own. That said though, their prices tend to be far better than anything online, when I do find something its always a deal, especially when they have a sale or promotion going on, then I almost always buy something. The staff here is almost always friendly, but sometimes they will take awhile to acknowledge you waiting at the register. read more

Backstory: my husband and I preordered the amiibo captain Falcon at the location near our home. The release date kept getting changed and unfortunately it was released while we were in San Francisco and nowhere near close to pick it up. The employee at that location said they wouldn't hold it for us for more than 48 hours despite our preorder and extenuating circumstances. So completely upset we found the closest GameStop and called inquiring if they had any falcon amiibos. Ally (I hope I spelled her name right) answered saying they didn't have any. I gave her the backstory and she took some time out of her day to help us by calling the store that held our original preorder. She spoke with the manager and worked out them possibly holding our preorder a little longer. I was so taken aback by her willingness to help us. To help customers who have never even stepped foot in her store, for a sale that will take place at another location. That shows me what a kind character she has and if I lived closer I would shop exclusively at her location. Thank you for helping us!! read more

Before you even look at the stuff I am trade you going tell me that I'm probably not gonna get the full amount and i see the stuff pass on your little system that checks everything to try to make up stuff that has a little minor marks on it Which is normal wear and tear a PS4 pro system that I've had since day one in excellent condition because it's been in my entertainment cabinet the whole time.. then have the nerve to ask me am I going to pre-order something no thanks that's why I shop at Best Buy and Amazon and target..... if you're in the business of taking a trade-ins and you have a system set up to make sure everything work don't try to take a vantage of your customers especially when your company is almost obsolete the only positive thing that I have experience from GameStop in a while is that are on some stocks when the stocks went up to a ridiculous price and sold them all... keep in mind when you take it vantage of customers customers will take it vantage of you... this is 2021 everything's almost digital good luck read more

Great staff that has been able to not only answer the usual/basic gaming questions, but also helped me with solutions to problems such as connectivity and settings to optimize game experiences. I haven't caught the other 2 guys' names, but did note Ally's (who is super cool friendly) tag the other day. Good job and hope your regional managers (not sure who checks theses things in chain/franchises) recognize this location - great customer service is sometimes hard to find but this shop has "it"! Plenty of parking, clean, well stocked, friendly workers that aren't annoying, working demo games and systems. As with all gamestops, not the cheapest but not the most expensive AND avoid selling your used games here. Only complaint about this location: there were several copies of games marked with difference prices. Anytime I'm looking to buy a new game, I always stop by to this Gamestop. It's not only the closest one to me, but the staff here is awesome! They're always so nice and extremely helpful, it's awesome. They're really knowledgeable about games too, which is always a plus. Probably the best customer service I've gotten in years hands down. David greeted my young nephew and I when we walked through the door and offered to help or answer any questions we might have. The store was very well kept and had lots of fun displays that made the whole experience that much better. Definitely one of the cooler game stops I've been to. As the store got busier David carried on pleasant conversations with each of us and made waiting to be checked out a breeze and was just a genuinely nice guy. I will definitely be back to this GameStop any time I have my nephew! I didn't get to find out if David was the manager but if not I hope he gets recognized for his stellar customer service and making me a return customer!! read more

I've never had a bad experience at this GameStop. The most I can complain about is waiting in line behind people who don't really know what they want or don't know what to get for their kid, but that's not Gamestop's fault. Regardless, the staff tends to help the next person in line if the current person at the counter is having trouble deciding what they should purchase, and I find that this act is awesome. The staff really tries to move everyone along as quickly as possible, especially on busier days (weekends, holidays, etc.). The store is always clean and well kept, and the staff is friendly, personable, and knowledgable. read more

I have shopped at this Gamestop on previous occassion, but I never really felt compelled to write a rewiew. My experiences were good nonetheless. I came here on 11/14 to see if I was able to purchase a PS4 without having been able to pre-order. The tall guy behind the counter very politely educated me on the propect of obtaining one during launch and honestly informed me on my chances. I came back that same day as instructed and I was able to "reserve" one for the actual midnight launch. I have to say, I have been a part of various product launches, and I have seen successful and unsuccessful launches. Whoever, organized the PS4 at this location did a fantastic job. It was very organized, and very well executed. It almost made the whole experience painless. I say almost, since it was a cold night. read more

I had purchased a refurbished Gameboy Advance on 2/15/11 and I tried to exchange it on 2/16/11 for a different Gameboy Advance but I was unable to because the manager "Kat" said that I was missing the 2-AA batteries. Which it did not come with 2-AA batteries when they had sold it to me. She would not take it take even though I told her that the batteries were not included at the time of purchased so instead she tried to sell me the batteries. Kat said that she cannot resell the product because the product has no batteries. Than why did they sell it to me without batteries? So he accused me of taking the batteries. Now why would I take the batteries and exchange the product for a more expensive gameboy. When I can just go buy new packs of batteries for $5. That just does not make any sense to at all. Overall, Kat's customer service was extremely poor and I am not satisfied. read more
