I am extremely unhappy with Best Buy and their Geek Squad installation crews at this time. I had an install scheduled for 8:40am at our lake house. I was told I would receive a two hour window 24 hours prior which I did not and I received no call from the technician. I was caught in traffic on 75 North and was going to be about 10 to 15 minutes late. When I arrived there was a door sign stating that Sam and Logan arrived at 8:33 and waited until 8:53am. I arrived at 9:07am. If they would have called they would have known I was only a few minutes away. I drove an hour and a half here to meet them! I was told the number they had was disconnected (they called a old home number) which I do not understand. I gave the salesperson the numbers they were suppose to call to contact me directly. I did not receive a call. I have been a loyal Best Buy customer for 30+ years, I think everything should have been done to contact me before leaving. I spent over 5000 dollars and this is the service that I received. I cancelled the order and I will find my television elsewhere. This has been truly disappointing and I hope this is not a sign of hoe Best Buy plans to do business in the future. read more

Bought Logitech Ultimate Ears MegaBlast on 7/19/2020 . The speaker stopped working about 21 days after purchase. Tried to take it in to get it replaced and was told 15 day return window was past and to take it up with the manufacturer. Been a long time customer (even yearly geek squad supprt)and would think with the Covid-19 issues and people staying in Best Buy would extend that 15 day window to give customers a little more time to return items. But No. They are being hard asses so I will stop shopping at Best Buy. All other major electronics retailers offer longer return policies. No more Best Buy for me. read more

I came in to shop for rear view back up cameras and installation, as that is not a feature my older truck has that I am interested in. After viewing the options I consulted with one of the team members of the Geek Squad, who does the installations on the cameras. He was superb formative and helpful, and took the time to explain to me some different options that I have and the pros and cons of those options. He made me confident in the decision and the decision to let them do the install as well. The most impressive thing is that he was the installer, NOT a salesperson. read more

I've used Yelp reviews for a few years for various stores and restaurants. Now, after my experience at Best Buy, I've created an account, just so I can detail my experience to you. Customer service at Best Buy as a whole has always been lacking. This store brought it to a new level. I purchased an Invisible Shield screen protector for my new iPhone X (the film kind, not the rigid glass kind). I have put on the film type of screen protectors on iPhones probably a total of around 25 to 30 times in the past and I'm pretty good at it. The Invisible Shield protector (film type) is absolutely worthless. It's like trying to put Saran Wrap on your phone. The adhesive backing is so strong that it makes the included dust remover tabs completely useless. After a few attempts of getting the one $27 protector to work, it got stretched, deformed, and contaminated so much that it became completely unusable. Absolutely horrible product. So I brought the screen protector back to Best Buy. They were extremely unsympathetic. They would not stand by their product and would not give me a refund. The customer service representative and the store manager both told me that I could have had their people install it for me and all would be well. Which would have been great had they told me that WHEN I purchased the product and not after. They would not give me a refund. So I disputed the charge with American Express and they actually took the time and effort to write a report and send their evidence to American Express to make sure they got their $27. I've purchased computers, hi-fi systems, security system, car audio... I've spent thousand with Best Buy. That all now comes to an end. It was more important to Best Buy to get their profit off of a $27 item than to keep a customer happy. This is FURTHER illustrated by their RIDICULOUS procedure for filing a complaint. There is no email address. No web form you can fill out. No... the way you're supposed to file a complaint is to join their FORUMS and post a message there for everyone to see. And I encourage you to go to their forums at forums.bestbuy.com and check out what's there. Look at the sheer number of complaints that get posted EVERY day... and look at the responses from the moderators. That should give you a clear indication as to how concerned Best Buy is in taking care of customer's problems. So... Best Buy... I will visit your stores again... and I would look at and browse products to see which one I might be interested in. And then... I will go to Amazon or Fry's and buy it from them. Past experience with Amazon tells me that without a doubt... if I had been unhappy with a $27 product I bought from them, they would have made it right on the first contact. Oh... and incidentally, I bought a JTech screen protector from Amazon for $9.00 which included THREE protectors in the box... and it went on perfectly and is working great. I should have stopped there first. Never again will I buy anything from Best Buy. Not a computer, not a pair of headphones, not a stick of gum. I sure hope the profit from my $27 purchase was worth it. read more

Take a walk through the store if you'd like to see stuff in person, but if you like something go ahead and pull out your phone and buy it directly from Amazon. They have same-day shipping now. Worst customer service experience. Sales guy James L couldn't find the tv stand I wanted even though bestbuy.com said they had one in stock. I had to find it for him. He arranged to have it delivered to me. It arrived with a huge hole in the boxed and the visible, front-facing part of one leg was damaged. Spoke with Manager Ed who said he would expedite a return for the damaged unit and exchange it for an undamaged unit. He said they would call back in 30-45 minutes. 1.5hrs later Best Buy calls and tells me I have to somehow load the very heavy, bulky box into my car and bring it back to the store myself before they can do anything about it. They wouldn't even just change out the damaged piece with the same piece of the unit they have in store. Which effectively leaves them with a damaged unit and me with an undamaged one. They'd rather I break my back trying to get this thing back to them. Do Not Use Best Buy if you expect to be taken cared of!! read more

After I bought an expensive home theater setup, they gave me a 7:00 am - 1:00 pm window, on a weekday. Naturally I had to rearrange my work schedule. After the Geek Squad guy said he'd be there in 30 minutes to deliver everything, I got a call from a (800) that I couldn't call back saying they couldn't deliver to me today, and I'd need to call a national hotline to reschedule. I swore never to shop BB again, but needed a new washer quickly and they had the soonest delivery date. What a disaster. Like most front loaders, my old Samsung was on a pedestal and I made sure that the new Samsung washer fit. The installation guys refused to take the pedestal off the old one and put it on the new one because they said it would take 15 mins extra and they could only spend 15 mins total on each delivery. After wasting 15 mins with "customer service", I said that we'd just purchase it from somewhere else then, which she said was fine with her. Really bad customer service. They could have done it in the time I spent arguing and I later found instructions on YouTube, and it's literally 4 screws. I'm so done with BB. read more

Was in the North Central Expressway store in Plano TX at 12:45 PM today (8/21/2016) to return a wireless router that I bought 16 days back. I found out that Best Buy has a 15 day return policy and I was out of luck, even though I'm a Best Buy credit card holder. The lady at the return counter was rude - she simply packed the router back into the box handed it to me and said that there's nothing she can do. She didn't even bother checking with the manager. The Stacy road location in Allen TX however, where I bought it from was very nice. The lady there got it approved from her manager and gave me a full refund. 15 day returns suck! The only reason I come to this location is because it's the closest one to my house. Warning: this review is pretty lengthy but the gist is don't come here to preorder a phone Came here to preorder i phone 6 a while back and it was the worst experience I've ever had. I was the 5th one in line so I figured I shouldn't have any problems preordering my phone. I was dead wrong. They had 3 guys working the computers at the mobile section, let's name them A,B, and C. A appeared to be of managerial status and seemed to know what he was doing. Overheard C telling one of the customer that it was his first release and not really sure what he was doing. C was constantly asking either A or B for help. 40 minutes after they opened their doors, the original 3 customers were still sitting down trying to preorder their phones. Gentleman A took his customer to a different area because he said he had computer issues. A few minutes later, A came back to the area and declared that he can help customers in a different area but instead of systematically taking the next customers in line, the ones that were in the back of the line jumped to him. I think this was a very poor move on his part and he did not nothing to stop it. By the time it was my turn, C helped me. I explained to him what I needed (add a line and do an alternative upgrade), he had a very confused look and said he'll probably need help on this one. I didn't want to hold up the line so I told the next person to see C while I wait for B. B made the process very complicated. He was slow with navigating the computer, left the area to talk to other employees, and on top of that was trying to work with two customers at the same time. I'm not sure why he felt the need to bounce between 2 stations when he clearly had difficulty handling one. By the time we got to the actual phone selection for the first phone, he said it was available but before he completed the form, he jumped to the adjacent station to ring them up. When he came back to me, the phone was no longer available. He worked onthe order for my 2nd phone (different color) and that too became unavailable. He proceeded to tell me that the inventory was a reflection of all best buys and that I couldn't get it at my other location. It was a complete waste of my time here. They need better trained employees that actually know what they are doing. Ps: called a different location and they told me inventory is reflection of that particular store only so I was able to get it done at another location. read more

The installer did not have all the parts to install the dryer, so he left for us to do it. Which we did no thanks to Best Buy. I called 4 times and waited on hold for a total of 3 hours for an explanation from the warehouse, which was never given. Went here for a car radio install. Made an appointment online and got an estimate for total cost. Show up at my scheduled time and the garage is full. Guy rings up total charges and its $50 more than what the site says. I ask him about the additional charges and his response "we'll, I mean, you need all this stuff to instal the radio. It just is what it is." Looking at the full garage, and the clock, I ask when will my car be ready. His response "we'll about 2.5 hours but I won't even be able to start on it for another half hour, we're full." Politely I ask "so what good is an appointment?" His response "I don't know. We don't even use that site. It never matches up to what we actually do." Nice! 3 hours later my car was ready. Radio sounded nice. I went out later that evening and it got a little chilly so I decided to turn on my car heater. Umm yeah. It's not working. Neither are my heated seats. My less than 2 y/o HP laptop purchased from Bestbuy suddenly crashed while I was at school. I immediately called geek squad, the rep who picked up was extremely helpful and scheduled me for same day service. Less than 30 mins later, a geek squad tech was searching through my computer to run a diagnosis. Told me it could take between a couple of days to a week to return my laptop ro me unless it's a manufacturer issue which geek squads tech support couldn't fix. Within a few days my laptop was ready, there was a range of issues but they fixed them all. I had a hreat experience with both tech support on the phone and in person. Highly recommend! Thank you for saving my laptop, miracle workers!!! In addition to geek squad, I've ordered a number of items online for instore pickup, everytime I've picked up my order it's run completely smoothly without issue in and out in a few minutes. read more

Cannot believe how bad it has gotten. There's about 5 products in the store and everything else is shipped. There's little reason to go to the store any more unless you know they have something you want. You have to find someone to get help. They can be 10 feet away and will not ask if you need help. Once we got some help, they were pleasant and helpful, but the handoff to delivery was not pleasant. If they can't stock items on display, they should at least make it more convenient. I was with my 95 yr old Mom to get a Microwave and they didn't have it in stock and were going to deliver for free. We asked for consideration because of her age, but the Geek Squad scheduled it for 7:00am to 11:00am, and she was the first drop right at 7:00am. They didn't call her or me beforehand, as promised, so I could meet them there. My Mom had gotten up to prepare for them, and said she heard some scratching and movement at the front door that scared her, and when she opened it, an Asian man was standing there and said something she couldn't understand. They brought the unit in, no paperwork to sign, just dropped it, took a picture and left. We are taking it back because of unrelated problems with the unit, but I won't be buying from Best Buy any more. Very sad what has happened to them. Wow... I have never had such an horrible experience. I went today to buy a TI-84 Plus Calculator. And when I went to the cashier he was beyond RUDE. I wanted to price check and see if there were other prices online that could be compared to see if I could get it for less. As soon as I told this man he immediately sounded as if it was a burden to him to look up the price! He said he could not find the site I was referring too for the lower price, his whole attitude was that of he hating being there and hated his job. As I was debating on getting it or not he started messing around with something of some sorts and basically just started throwing it behind it without any disregard for who or what was behind him. When I then made my choice on to buy it. He kept asking me no stop if I wanted a two year warranty for my calculator and I said "No thanks I don't need it" but he just would not STOP "Are you sure? I lot of people drop these a lot" I said no thank again but god he would not let it go. Finally after he started to sense I getting a little peeved he stopped. Look I understand you got to upsell these things sometimes but when a customer has already said no multiple times just STOP. I went to this location and was told by Daniel who checked with another employee next to him African American male with dredlocks who conveniently forgot the question. 45 minutes later when Daniel was gone and I returned with the box and cord for my return. Daniel printed a duplicate of my receipt to process my refund when he realized I didn't have the box and cord. Since I live closer to the other location he asked the dredlocks guy if I could return it at the store closer to me.And dredlocks guy said okay. Daniel gave me the receipt and I went to the other location but they didn't have the phone in stock. So I drove all the way back to the Best buy on Central Express way Of course Daniel had gone home. The employee a light skinned African American said well Daniel is gone my manager has to approve this. He ignored me when I showed him the receipt and explained Daniel was getting ready to process the refund which is why he printed the receipt but I didn't have the box. He talked to the mobile manager Erica over in the corner out of my ear range. She walked over and immediately without saying hello or how can I help, she with a smirk said We can't take this back, sorry. I then proceeded to tell her about Daniel and the receipt and my drive as she rolled her eyes and cut me off and sorry he didn't have the authority. I told her the guy (dredlocks) heard the whole thing and even answered Daniel question. Of course the guy goes I don't remember. I asked for the store manager, Erica snaps she's in charge and he is not going to take back just because I don't like her answer. I asked for his name, she refused, then she said well he's not here. And got some woman from Geek Squad, who told me to calm down and that it's store policy. Erica said I have been nice to you (inferring she would call the police). I asked for the Corporate number, she gave me the call center automated number Then a cashier with dark long hair and glasses mockingly said as I left have a good day, I could hear her laugh to the other cashier as I walked through the exit. Well I got the Store manager name Karl Arnst, and the Hubert Joly the president name. I am a senior citizen on a budget, Erica had within her discretion to take the return and return it to Alcatel since AT&T said the phone was defective. But no she chose to blame the employee lack of authority and didn't take ownership and provide customer service. I am a Best Buy loyalty customer, my id # was on the receipt which is how Daniel was able to pull the receipt to process the exchange. GEEK SQUAD POOR SERVICE AND SEXUAL HARASSMENT CALLS! I wouldn't even put ONE star if that was an option. A year ago I bought my husband a 65 inch Sony TV complete with sound bar and mounting device. I warned the two salesman I needed their help as I did not have a clue what was needed to set up a TV. I paid a premium for the Geek Squad to set it up. The TV seemed to work when they left....UNTIL we put netflix on that night to watch a movie. The buffering was SO bad we gave up and went in the bedroom to watch TV. The next day, I called Best Buy Geek Squad and told them they had not completed my job and to come back out. After all, they KNEW what a big surprise I wanted to make this TV gift to my husband. The Geek Squad said that they couldn't get out for a week or two, that there were people scheduled before me. "NO", I said, "YOU NEVER COMPLETED MY JOB, SO I'M STILL FIRST IN LINE!! Geek Squad refused to come on the grounds I had to "wait my turn". Fine, if I was asking for something extra...BUT I WAS ASKING GOR MY JOB TO BE COMPLETED AS PROMISED. I called the Best Buy Manager at the store. I received the same excuse. How could people be ahead of me, when THEY DIDN'T DO THEIR JOB IN THE FIRST PLACE?!? Best Buy Geek Squad sent me a review to fill out by email. I gave a very poor review. A few nights later, I get a call that started out pleasant and then the man said, "TAKE IT DOWN BITCH!". When I said, "What did you just say to me???" He repeated it but EMPHASIZED each word louder. This person had called my cell. They were angry about my review. The next day using my land line, I called the number where the harassment call came from, and sure enough IT WAS GEEK SQUAD HEADQUARTERS! I couldn't believe anyone could be THAT DUMB to call from their own phone line. I reported it to the Best Buy Manager and to the manager of Geek Squad. No one EVER got back to me. And like a fool, a year later I bought another TV from Best Buy but warned them about what had happened before. And yes folks, I got a sexually harassing phone call asking me to retract what I had said a year ago...and then they said they'd do anything to fix it as they were going to get fired. I told them I wouldn't retract anything until I saw how they installed it this year. And Then they asked. "WHAT IF I CAME OVER AND SEXUALLY SATISFIED YOU?" My husband grabbed the line and the Geek squad man said, "Ohhh, it's the man of the house who has to fix things.". So I grabbed the phone back and said no, the man of the house does not have to fix things. He then said, " Well what if I came over and satisfied your husband sexually?". These are the SAME two men who called from Geek Squad Headquarters as they knew details no one else could have known. A few weeks ago, I spent about 20 minutes milling around the chrome books in store. Had numerous employees walk by, and they avoided eye contact. Didn't ask if I needed anything. Not so much as a hello. I left and called the store asking for a manager. Explained what happened and he apologized, and said that should not have happen. He then asked at what time it happened. I responded that I was still in the parking lot, and it had just happened. Silence. Not sure it was even a manager. After several awkward moments he apologized again and hung up. Fast forward about a week. I showed back up and tried again to get someone to help me with a chrome book. I went out of my way trying to get someone to notice me. Finally got someone, and asked about an open box item. A couple of minutes, he came back with a new one and stated they had no open box ones. This came as a shock as I had called not 10 minutes earlier to check if it was still there. I was told it was. I pulled it up on the website, and it still showed it there. I called back the next day and was told again it was there . A week later I was in Irving for work, and stopped by the Best Buy (north Irving) and was approached by 2 different employees asking if they could help. I told them what I wanted. One guy checked inventory and said no, they didn't have that model, but he had one of a newer (and expensive) one. I ended up walking out the door with that one. Today, the glutton I am, stopped back by this store. Spent 20 minutes waiting in the Tablet section of the AT&T display. 4 employees not far away playing with the camera on a phone. 3 more employees walked by. On the way out, asked the Yellow Shirt if it was normal for this to happen. Of course he said no, but he did make a sincere apology. We needed a new tv. I found one for a good price on the Best Buy website, so we headed here. We showed the associate the one we were interested in. When he looked it up, it was for a price that was $100 higher. I showed him the website, he said it was an online special that you can get online only...except it did not say online only. We asked to talk to a manager, the associate was super sweet, but we needed to talk to someone else. At first he came back saying the manager said it was a online deal. So I asked him to have the manager come over. I mean...really? So...the manager comes over and assumes it was giving me a price based on my rewards. I corrected him that it was on their website. Then he said...when you logged into your rewards account. "I did not log into anything" I responded. He took my phone, and guess what? The price came up. The associate apologized, but it was not his fault that their system in inaccurate. WTF Best Buy? Why did we have to go through all of this to get a price that you published? Oh..when they pulled it up? It rang up at the price. We got a good deal, but after this, I am not sure if we will make anymore big purchases here. What happened to customer service? read more

I've been coming to this location for years... even when they were across the street. Their prices are competitive & in some instances, Fry's prices are better, but I feel more comfortable shopping here because my purchases are tracked since I use my Reward Zone card with every purchase. read more
