It was time for a new computer, so I decided to take a chance at Best Buy instead of purchasing it online as I usually do. They had a great selection and the prices weren't as outrageous as I was thinking. Even though I didn't purchase one, I will say the staff were very helpful. They answered my thousand and one questions haha, and were willing to assist me with any other office supplies I would need in my home office. I went there just to see what was in the store and what kind of TVs Best Buy had . A young lady came along named Justina and was very helpful. She explained to me the difference between the different TVs and why the pictures look so different ! It was very nice and informative. I bought a TV and she offered me a sound system since I said I had troubles hearing. I did get a great deal on the TV and everything else. If I need anything else I'm coming to look for this young lady. My next purchase will be a laptop. read more

This location has friendly staff and they always readily available to assist. Loves their customer service, but compared to other locations I've been to, they are out of stock on a lot of items or limited on choices. Definitely a 2 star on their selection of inventory and stock. Overall value is about the same as any other Best Buy location, so it's always been a hit or miss for me going here, but still worth checking out if you need something. Customer service. I waited in the queue for several minutes while the cashier carried on a conversation with a customer who had already completed a purchase. When I did approach the register I laid my item on the counter firmly out of frustration because I had waited so long and she in turn picked it up and firmly laid on the counter. I said to my self ok. She asked was there anything wrong with the item I said no. N she proceeded to say you got a problem with me? N I said yes you were chit chatting a long time with that customer. And she tells me patience is a virtue; accused me of having an attitude and refused to assist me called a manager and walked off while making dismissive comments. read more

Unprofessional, disengaged, horrible communication skills, and lack of customer service, spoke with his manager Carter and it didn't make the situation any better. Someone should definitely speak with Brian and Carter on how to be professional and provide better customer service and compassion. This store has completely wasted my time and money. The morning for which my tv delivery and mounting were scheduled, I received texts that it was time to schedule my delivery. I made several calls, some to the number in the email confirmation and some to the store number. After long waits to speak with someone and multiple disconnections, I was given no answers as to why the delivery was cancelled and without me being notified. Then I received a call from Best Buy telling me the reason the delivery was not happening as scheduled is the installer had a morning emergency and it "appears according to inventory, the tv is in". What about the reason Best Buy was just now contacting me with that information and delivery cancelled without notification? I still don't have a real answer as to if the tv is actually in and available for delivery. The rep who called stated she would verify availability with the store then contact before cob to reschedule. Best Buy, Worst Buy. What gives, Best Buy? This is extremely disappointing and infuriating. Unacceptable. read more

Then, you can notify the Best Buy associate when you are at the store in your car at the clearly marked pickup area. You will press the blue button "I am at the store" in their free phone application. The polite Best Buy associate placed the purchase item in my trunk within one minute! Purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator from them. Amazed at how fast they delivered and installed it. They said the would remove my old fridge and take it away. We had an older fridge in our garage that we were going to throw out. Move our kitchen fridge out to the garage and the new KitchenAid into the kitchen. I asked the installers rather than taking the kitchen fridge out to their truck, to just take it to the garage and instead of putting that one in their truck, to take the older fridge in the garage. They said they couldn't do that without charging us extra. I said "you're not doing any extra work, just moving the fridge from the kitchen to the garage, leaving it, and then taking the other fridge to your van." they refused to do that, so I had to pay them to just leave the fridge in the garage and take the older one away. I went back a week later and purchased a new KitchenAid range. They sent one guy out to install it. He did a great job installing it, but when he took our old Dacor out to put it in his van he couldn't lift it alone. Dacors are very heavy. I went out and he was trying to get it into the van and the dolly with range dropped back to the driveway, ripping jeans. I had to give him a hand in order to get it into the van. With the stove, Best Buy did some weird stuff and I ended up getting a years subscription to the Geek Squad ($199.95), internet security and stuff, which I had no desire for. So I called on Feb 10th and cancelled that. They told me I'd see a refund to my debit car in 1-2 days. I called back six days later after not seeing the refund. The agent said she saw the refund but it would take 7-10 days to process it. I called back on March 1st to check on the refund. The agent this time said I'd see it in 48-72 hours. I called back on March 8th and the agent (Patty) said she saw the refund but their policy is 30 days from cancellation (Which was Feb 10th). So I waited 32 days, nothing yet. Just called back this morning and was told that their policy for refunds is 1-2 billing schedules, or otherwise 1-2 months! Four different agents, four different stories. After spending greater than $6000 with Best Buy I'm ready to call it quits. read more

In the last few months I've gotten 3 iPads, sound systems and a lot more. One good experience Was the first visit and that's why I came back. But ever single visits after I haven't been satisfied. Over promised and under delivered. Was told they would price match it and didnt, they could add my bill to my credit card and it's always an issues. The employees are really good saying what they can't do and as a customer I want to hear what they CAN do. Every time it's been something else and I have left unsatisfied. I made an appointment last week with the Geek Squad to get the battery in my iPhone changed. I got multiple confirmation emails, 4 texts, and even a phone call from someone from the Geek Squad two days before my appointment, to confirm my appointment, confirm what I wanted done, and the type of phone I had. The day of my appointment, I drove 30 minutes one way. My husband works nights as a nurse and I have 3 small children. Planning this appointment was no small feat for me. I get there and there's one frazzled man who asked if I had an appointment. He told me that he didn't know if they had the part or someone to install it! I told him when I made the appointment AND when I spoke to one of them on the phone that I wanted the battery in my iPhone changed. He gave every reason under the sun why it couldn't be done (they are understaffed, he and the person who called me are new, it was also Apple's fault for some reason, etc). He also said if I came back it would be 3 hours to replace the battery. Three hours?! It took Apple one hour to replace a battery before. Terrible customer service. read more

I frequented this store but that stops today. My son (wheelchair bound) went there yesterday with his dad to get a TV. He ended up with a 75" TV that was delivered today by two healthy, young, strong gentlemen. They brought it into the house and left it in front of my son's dresser. I told them it's just my son and me and asked them if they could place it up on there for me because I can't get it up there by myself. They said, "sorry but installation isn't on your ticket." I told them I didn't have any help and didn't need them to install it. just needed them to put it up on the dresser for me. They said they would charge me $150 and they could add it to the delivery ticket. Despicable. Since when is putting a heavy item in the place you want it considered "installation." It would have taken them less than 5 minutes. Never again, Best Buy Geek Squad. Never Again! read more

II'm very dissatisfied with how Tyler, the supervisor handled my situation. I Purchased a larger television online and requested it be delivered the next day; however, since I was I returning a smaller tv, I decided to change the new tv to be immediately picked up by me. I called the store and advised I'd be picking the tv up instead and was told I could still pick it up. Two problems: I successfully returned the smaller tv, which after checking my receipts have noticed they shorted me $4, which I will call to find out why in the morning. Second, The store manger on duty, Tyler, informed me AFTER their store was closed, that I would have to pick my tv up the next morning after I'd been waiting for over an hour. I explained that I have a disability and wouldn't have waited there that long, so I refused to leave, because the TV was paid for, and it wasn't my fault they were playing and running around in chaos in the store and FORGOT about me. My TV was clearly sitting in the pickup area, as an employee had already brought it out for me to get. He decided it was good to call the police, because I refused to leave until he gave me my tv which was paid for. I explained multiple times that I wouldn't have been waiting in the store for over an hour, if he would have simply apologized and told me that he made a mistake by NOT checking on why i was still waiting in their store BEFORE and during their closing. I was able to video most of the interaction to help prove they closed down without completing the tv transfer process to me, but Tyler insisted that I stop recording; so I wasn't able to record the part with him calling the police on me when he clearly wasn't doing his job. My video shows I wasn't ever irate (I stopped recording). I love shopping at Best Buy and have spent a lot of money shopping; I've NEVER had an issue with an employee, but Tyler is definitely not a good representation in my opinion of the quality customer service I'm used to receiving. So, I now I am forced to either waste my gas's and go back to the store to pick up my tv, risk changing it back to be delivered, which could be chaotic again, or cancel to get my money back and buy the tv somewhere else. I will be requesting that Best Buy corporate watch their video of the entire time I was in the store, so they can see exactly what happened. I'm super disappointed with the above experience. Today was the first time I was ever /denied/ service at a business (Best Buy).... because I didn't have an appointment (my fault for not knowing I needed one, but geez). Not a fan of this store's policies and practices concerning COVID-19, and after a quick internet search to compare prices for the product I wanted, I left (and trust me, won't be back). Two stars for the following: 1. Kudos for having social distancing measures in place though -- I was all for it until I realized it was more of a hassle to make an appointment and return the next day than purchase through Amazon. 2. Giving me the minor insight of what Jim Crow Laws must have felt like to POC. Despite the outside "visit" being an unpleasant experience for me and being white, I am appreciate of the learning experience of what complete denial of entry and service must have felt like 50 years ago in the South. The rude remark from the assistant manager of Best Buy made the experience all the more authentic. read more

I used to love shopping at Best Buy stores! Best Buy was the adult version of Toys R Us for me. Unfortunately the last 3-4 times I've been here it's been pretty horrible. The workers all just stand around having personal conversations. If they see customers coming they move away from them. I sat there watching one day and I swear the workers at Best Buy must have a game going on to see who can go the longest without helping a customer. They actively avoided customers... if it weren't so sad it would be hilarious. Funny thing is my wife and I were prepared to spend a few thousand here but every worker kept running away so we decided to spend our money elsewhere. The shelves and items are a mess as well. Many areas have no rhyme or reason to how they stock. Outdated price tags, missing price tags, incorrectly placed items or tags.... really not worth shopping here until drastic changes are made. I do love Best Buy stores and have enjoyed them for decades. I just hope this one gets their act together so I can have some fun again! read more

Had two wait for my appointment. Two people who came in after me were serviced first. One who didn't have an appointment. One who had an appointment after mine. I had to speak to a manager to have someone finally help me. Only to be told there were two computers in front of mine, and it would likely be two weeks before the could even give me an estimate on how long it would be. I would have to leave my working computer with them to hold my space in line, for a minimum of two weeks. All I needed was two cables attached to connect my already installed DVD player. Warning, do not get a service contract with them. It is worthless. read more

Customer service is pretty much useless. I didn't need any help understanding how a product worked, but simply the direction in which I could find what I was looking for: a micro sd card. Any micro sd card. You're better off trying to find anything yourself that doesn't require a key to unlock, which will take another 30 minutes of your time. I work in retail, so I understand a store being busy and trying to handle more than one customer at once. But when a store associate isn't with a customer at all, but still blows you off completely, I don't know. I just think it's unacceptable but I guess that's just Best Buy's workplace culture. read more

If I could give a 0 rating I would. In the State of SC the mask mandates have been dropped. Went into the store to buy a tv and was asked to leave because I had no mask. Needless to say I left and also told them that they have lost my business and I will be sure to let others know that if you don't have a mask they do not want your business. I have been in several stores within the state and have never been asked to leave for this reason. I will spend my money elsewhere from now on. read more

This Best Buy always provides a worthwhile experience! Every time I go in there the security man always greets me respectfully which I have never experienced before at a Best Buy. This store is always stocked and has great associates that are always willing to help you and offer you their expertise! I arrived here right at opening so there were about 5 other customers than myself that were in the store. Horrible customer service I passed by four employees and no one ever greeted me neither did anyone ask if I need any type of assistance. I was looking for a fiber optical cable cord and after ten mins I found it on my own. There was employee who passed me twice in the tv department and never spoke and he ended up standing beside me as i read the instructions and still nothing. Felt like I was at Walmart in the electronics department. Amazon has better customer service I will not be returning. Would rather drive to the other side of town if I ever need to return to a Best Buy. read more

I am writing this review regarding the outstanding customer service received from Candace Gainey (Consultation Agent Geek Squad,), Spring Valley Store located at 10136 Two Notch Road, Columbia SC 29229. Candance. Candance contacted Apple and convinced them to replace my defective Iphone 6 with an in store replacement phone instead of waiting nine days to get the phone repaired. Ironically, I never purchased the defective phone from Best Buy. The phone was purchased only twenty days ago from Boost Mobile located at 10159 Two Notch Road Columbia, SC. The owner refused to replace the phone and blamed Apple. I had to write this review given Candance went above and beyond her duties to ensure that I had a new Iphone. She was not responsible for my phone being defective nor did she have to go out of her way to convince Apple to give me a replacement phone...but I am grateful she did. I would like to thank Candace, additionally, I would like to thank Best Buy for hiring employees like Candance whom is also an Army veteran. read more

I frequent Best Buys often and this one is close to the house. It is a fairly new store to this area. I ran in out of the store about two months ago to pick up some various items. I recently sent my mother and grandfather to this store to look for an Internet streaming device for their TV's. They left and informed me that they stood around waiting for someone to help them with the questions they had, which never happened. I thought to myself this can't be right because the Best Buy stores I go to always have excellent customer service. So I took my mother back to this store to find what she wanted. Well there was nothing wrong with what they had told me, we could get no help what so ever. Even when I asked someone for help they said they would get someone and no one ever came to assist. We purchased a product that day and I had to return it today, which has nothing to do with this review the product was not the correct application. Again on this day I stood at the customer service desk waiting for someone to acknowledge me for close to 10 minutes. The employees were more concerned about what they had done this past weekend than helping me. I had planned to returned the item and to purchase a new kindle fire but the lack of customer service led me to travel across town to another Best Buy where they are always more than happy to help. I informed the manager of the second store of what had taken place and he apologized for their lack of service. I will give it a couple of months and return to this location to see if things have improved, if not I guess I will just travel across town. read more

This Best Buy absolutely SUCKS! I see why their overall rating is "1 Star"! If there an option for ZERO stars, that'd def be their rating! They don't process orders completely and when you call to inquire about the status, they tell you it's complete...which is NEVER the case. For example, Best Buy picked up a return from my home and was suppose to process the refund that day. The refund should have posted in 7-10 days. I called at approx Day 8 just to check on the status, and was told it was pending. At day 15, I call to see what in the world the hold up was as I still hadn't received my refund. I find out the Best Buy did NOT process the refund at all. This is just one example of how bad the customer service and communication at this store! It sucks this is the only location that delivers to my house! read more

Don't deal with this place. I went in to ask questions about upgrading my router and security cameras. I was advised by the sales person who stayed he was the manger for the department to buy a bunch of things I didn't need. One being the tower Linksys system that is to cover my home with 4,500 sq feet. I am having more problems with WiFi now that I have this system. I wasted over 2,000 and returned several unneeded items. Still down to over 700 and my cellphone WiFi is not even connecting. I paid for Tech Support and spent over 2 hours today trying to get the issue resolved. When I told them that this new system is installed and running from my former router he was appalled it was setup this way like an extender which only cuts your speed even more. I was transferred to have a reset up ordered and 2 hrs later while charging my cellphone after the battery had gone low on hold no response. Each time I need service I must drive directly to a store. This is the worst place to ever do business and I will never ever buy anything else from a Best Buy store. All around awful service!!!! read more
