I bought a tv and a wall mount and installation. It was put as a n normal delivery. The person scheduling the installation, HERNAN, called and said I need to pay 60 extra dollars when they get there for the right Installation. Best buy confirmed that he can't do that. I bought an external hard drive from the BestBuy website, and had them transfer data to it for me. A month later after I decided to add some more to it, I realized it was dying. I went to return it and they refused! I have their full membership and service agreement, or so they said. This was a very expensive 8 TB drive! I've spent about $15,000. SAMSUNG 55" Q6F TV Do not purchased this product. I purchased the 55" Q6F and it has blurred picture on fast moving scenes. Samsung sent out a tech to troubleshoot the issue and said there is nothing they can do because that is a known issue called picture blur due to motion accelerator is the best that it can do on this model. The motion accelerator is supposed to take an HD 1080p streaming service and make the picture look normal on a 4K TV. This model TV does not handle that well so that is where you see a blurred picture on fast moving scenes. That is how the TV works and there is nothing that can be done to fix it. Samsung and Best But is giving me the run around pointing the finger at each other to provide a resolution. (Replace the TV) So now I am stuck with a TV that all fast-moving scenes is blurred. I am VERY DISSATIFIED with Best Buy & Samsung. I even bought a 5-year protection plan from Best Buy which is useless to me right now. The TV is less than 60 days old from the time I called Best Buy and I'm being told there is nothing they can do because it's past the return policy window. But I thought I was protected with my Protection plan but nope Best Buy said that does not help me in this situation. It's a shame I bought this TV and protection plan thinking that if something is wrong, I would be covered but I was wrong. Beware folks of this model and other models may have the same issue. Also think twice before purchasing the so-called protection plan. I would give Best Buy ZERO stars but can't. It seems like their employees hate their customers... they rather hang and talk to their friends. Most employees don't care to help you. When they know you might complain about them they run away like Rudy today and disappear and makes the customer look bad. He is one of most unhelpful employee there. This store is amazing and has very attentive staff there, when you walk through the door they make sure you're greeted and made feel welcome to the family like if you're walking into your grandmas house! You don't want to go to Walmart or Costco because at Best Buy they have amazing demos and smart sales people that really know their stuff, not only that they show you the difference in products to help you find the ideal product. If you ever need a computer salesman that really pays attention ask for Yousif or Sebastian. For tv's I've bought plenty in the last month and I've always gone to Brandon Clark he's a wonderful young man and really knows his craft. Their manager Desi and Sayde are so helpful and really care about the service and making sure a costumer is well taken care of unlike target they just dog you out. Never in my professional career of 20+ years in retail has anybody ever approached me with such strong impressions and damning of a product that I asked for information about. Typically when you present something to a customer, you try to find out a little bit more about what they're using it for. Have they used one before etc? This young man just basically dove right in insane how awful they were; the demos break; and why spend this much money for a computer that it isn't all that good compared to blah blah blah around the corner somewhere. No questions were asked. I was read his list of reasons why I shouldn't buy it. And he really didn't seem to care or check back with me as I spent more than 15 minutes in the department, looking at all the particular devices. read more

I have to start this by saying I normally really love Best Buy and would have given it a five star review however, my most recent experience with customer service at Best Buy was disappointing to say the least. I went there looking for an addition to my ring camera and had some questions. I asked the nearest girl at the front if she could help me because it seemed like she wasn't doing very much. She informed me that she would have to call someone to come help me. I find this strange because I saw at least 10 employees on the sales floor who did not really seem to be doing anything at all. A few were even eating while they were walking to what I guess was the staff lounge. I believe their manager needs to be informed what proper customer service is or they will be losing customers left and right. Just had the worst customer service experience of my life here. I bought an enelx juice box ev charger here, and the company that manufactured that product abruptly decided to leave the North American market. In doing so, this charger is now useless because the app the it operates through was also discontinued and unsupported. The product was still under warranty and both Dani, the geek squad agent, and Sadye, the general manager of the store, refused to give me a refund or even store credit. The worst part about it is that the both couldn't have cared less, nor showed any empathy or understanding at all for the situation. It just shows the culture of the store and the company as a whole. It doesn't make sense to me, especially from Sadye, the general manager's perspective. I'm sure as a GM she's offered stock compensation, which has historically been down during her tenure, while Amazon has been up. It's no wonder why Amazon is taking their market share - it's poor customer service and bad company policy at the ground level. I bought my new charger from Amazon, which has a much better/safer return policy. I wouldn't say I'm 100% never going to shop here again, but probably not as long as I can help it. And this is coming from a person who has spent tens of thousands of dollars at Best Buy - my company has an account with them! It's clear Amazon is the better retailer for their superior customer service and policies. Because of Best Buy, this store in particular, I had to buy two chargers instead of one, and pay twice to have them each installed, which costed me about $1800 more than it should have. If you want to know why the sales representatives attitude and the service is so abhorrent at Best Buy in Thousand Oaks, have an interaction with Desi, the "manager". She is crude, rude and disrespectful to her customers. When I declined her suggestion to work with the Geek Squad to transfer data from my old computer to my new one because I don't trust them, she basically called me a liar. During a service call some time ago at my home, my wife and I caught one of the Geek Squad techs downloading our data onto a thumb drive. I immediately called Best Buy to complain and the "manager" that I spoke with had pretty much the same response as Desi. Tried to purchase a dishwasher .. encountered associates that are rude and unprofessional. They claim to price match...yes costco prices ( mentioned specifically on their website ) and they do not. Called the corporate office to resolve store issue .I was given a case number and was told they would mail a $100 gift card to return to store to make purchase. I never received the gift card and was told today that they are sorry . They do see they promised the gift card but it never got mailed . Absolutely the world worst customer service ever and I mean ever there was a time where there was a person there her name was Savannah and another person there his name was Bertrand and back then the service was excellent. You feel like you walked in to a place where people value you value, your business are knowledgeable are helpful. I'm not sure where they are right now. Probably outgrew that place because of all the bad customer service. so a few weeks ago I walked in to buy a Starlink mini and nobody knew anything about it. It wasn't on display, even though it said it was in stock. The manager went in the back, found me one and brought it to me at that point I said what else should I buy with it? He said I don't know I said what does it come with? He said I don't know I said can I open it so I see what I'm missing so I can buy the accessories and I am buying it anyways he said no you have to pay for it first - anyways I could have paid for it opened it and returned it but rather than make the experience great he was horrible and rather than compliment his lack of knowledge for something he's selling with being accommodating he was even worse anyways I went that day to Home Depot. I bought it from Home Depot for $50 less. They helped me within minutes and I walked out. Another incident, I went in to trade in my phone for a new one our old stand in the customer service line. I stood in the customer service line when my turn came the person behind the counter said go stand on the side and I'll find someone to help you. They help 6, 7 customers and I'm still waiting so I go talk to the person at the door and then I tell her can I get someone to help me with a trade-in - she said go stand in line so I told her that I was in line and they told me to wait and she goes like then, go Wait I said I get it but they've been helping a lot of people I was next and I've been waiting for a long time. She said the manager said wait so go wait and that is the customer service that I got today so I walked out went to the Apple Store, which is always busier by the way, the Best Buy store had a bunch of employees at the cell phone booth not doing anything again at the Apple Store, I walked in 5 minutes later someone took me in and I did the trade-in. Shop on Amazon most of the time they deliver in the same day worst case scenario next day and you don't have to deal with people like this. GEEK SQUAD RIP-OFF. I was ripped off buy Geek Squad and the store manager refused to set things right. Then I went to Best Buy Corporate and despite their acknowledgement of the issue, only issued a partial refund. People should know that Geek Squad is very limited in what they know, and the diagnostic tools they have available to them. The person who took in my device deceived me by telling me he was "99 percent sure" they could fix it. He said this in error. Whether it was intentional in order to get the business, or simply Naive, I cannot say, I had bought a Microsoft Surface Tablet 13 months ago. I erred in not buying the extended warranty and of course, it went bad one month after the 12 month Warranty expired. This was my fault. I won't buy a computer again without an extended warranty. I did some research on the issue and the likely cause was a bad drive. I took it to Geek Squad (for which an appointment was required). I am not a Geek Squad member. The young, somewhat spaced-out guy that helped me told me I was wrong, it wasn't a drive issue and he could get it fixed by, worst-case, re imaging the machine. I pushed back on this point but he was very confident. I simply needed to buy the $180 membership (which would be more cost effective given the cost of the individual service of diagnosing and re-imaging the machine). So I agreed. And of course 4 days later they called me to say it didn't work, the machine is unserviceable and I was out of options. I explained to the store manager that the sales percent was adamant about the repair being successful and quoted me a 99 percent success rate. He basically said there was nothing they could do except sell me an open-Box replacement.....which is available to anyone who walks in the door. So essentially, he offered me nothing. I will never go to Best Buy again. From now on, I'll buy computers online or from the Apple Store. TVs from other locations etc... I'm done with Best Buy for life. read more

After ordering an LG double oven, I was told it would be delivered and installed on a Friday 2 weeks later. They gave me a 9am to 9pm for the delivery. Prior to the date, I received several texts and emails outlining all the steps I needed to take prior to the tech's arrival. Since they could only install during the week, I took the day off of work and waited for the tech. Towards the end of the day, the tech called to informed me that he had arrived at the store to pick up the equipment, and they did not have it in inventory. No calls, emails or text was ever sent from BestBuy to inform us of any issues. After several calls, an Agent rescheduled the install for 2 weeks later. Prior to that date, I called to make sure they had the equipment in inventory, and I was told that they did. Around noon, on the date of the second install attempt, I called for an updated arrival time and was told that the install had been rescheduled for another 2 weeks later because the equipment had not arrived. Again, no communication or update from Best Buy. Tried numerous ways to connect with anyone at the actual store (Best Buy Thousand Oaks) but kept being transferred to call center agents. I asked the last Agent to escalate the issue and to please have a manager or anyone from the store give me a call back. She stated that someone would call me within 2hours. As the day past, I called in again and was told that the 2hr call back still showed in the system, and that she would send an email to the store management letting them know that the call had not been returned. The icing on the cake is that we paid the order with the Best Buy Credit Card and they have already charged us interest on the purchase. For the last 25years both my family and business, have been a high-volume client of Best Buy, but have noticed a significant service decline over the last few years. So, as they earned my business initially through quality customer services, they have now lost our business through lack thereof. read more

Now we were told that we don't qualify for an exchange and basically, sorry, too bad so sad. They make promises they don't keep. They go back on their word. They promise you something, and then go back on it. They say "we can definitely help you with that", and then they go back on their word. Each person you talk to, tells you something different, and they tell you "whoever told you that prior to this call, was wrong, sorry about that". They also tell you that there are no managers or supervisors available for phone calls, and that you have to go into the store. Dealing with Best Buy and Geek Squad Customer Service is sheer hell, and your phone call will be outsourced to another country where you can hardly understand what they're saying because of their heavy accents and they don't have any knowledge of the stores or anything here in the U.S. We are done with Best Buy. Never again. We had problems with them before and let it slip by, but this was the icing on the cake. UPDATE: We had complained to the Sales Dept on the phone, and the guy said he was submitting a request for the manager of the Thousand Oaks branch to give us a call. He said the managers are supposed to review the submitted complaints every hour, and call the customers. WE NEVER GOT A CALL. Typical Best Buy. This is one of the issues, right here. Since the remodel they have turned it into a Target with their shiny concrete floors and painfully understaffed stores. I did an entire 2 laps of the store and couldn't find a single employee. I did an in store pickup this same day and was dumbfounded to find an empty in store pickup area. Not an employee in sight!! I had ordered my item for curbside but it was changed to in store pickup. Ok, no big deal but you know, don't make people stand in this empty line for 5 minutes before someone finally comes to help. I would curb side order here all the time, they were fairly quick and efficient, even after 5pm. This WAS my favorite store compared to Oxnard or Simi Valley but I don't know anymore. There are conference rooms and strange areas all around the perimeter of the building, the bathrooms were moved to the other side of the building and made smaller to accommodate those weird empty conference rooms. Why, why does Best Buy need those? No idea. This place in particular has become very sterile compared to how welcoming it used to be. read more

Mixed review. Some employees have been very helpful, like when my wife needed help purchasing kitchen appliances. She and I both have had decent experience with staff in that area. But then when I go look at the cameras, there's nobody to help. Then when someone is nearby, I ask him if it's possible to hold the camera and test it (e.g. I wanted to see the zoom). The cameras are basically immobile, which to me is pointless for a customer wanting to test it out. He kind of just shrugged his shoulder. Selection us good. Staff is garbage. Multiple staff hanging around chatting with each other instead of helping customers, some on their phones. Cashiers are not trained for gift receipts during holiday season and tell you they can't do that, get snippy when ringing you up, when you ask for another person they say no, had to raise my voice to get another staff, who was also rude. My computer had been checked into Geek Squad to be serviced. They told me it was ready the next day. I came in to pick it up and it had not been fixed at all. It needed a new hard drive. I paid for it and had the computer checked in again. Friday evening I was driving home on the 101 from picking up my husband at the hospital. Hunter called me while I was in the car to tell me my computer was ready for pick up. I told him I would be there momentarily and hung up. I thought it was lucky because I was just minutes away and could dash in and grab it. I left my husband in the car and dashed in. There was no one to be found. I spotted someone at order pick up and gave him my name. It became obvious I need to be talking to someone in the Geek squad. He pointed me to an empty desk and corner and left. Next, the person who stands at the door mentioned that they were busy and short handed and that someone would be with me in a moment. I paced around trying to be patient but then, a sloppy, hang dog mumbling person came out of the back, handed an IPad to a woman and told me they would be with me shortly but they were short handed. I left. Terrible, terrible customer service. But what I find so egregious is the attitude of the slouchy, low energy, uninvolved employees. I am perfectly willing to wait when necessary. I use the app, make appointments, etc. Hunter, do not call someone and tell them their merchandise is ready to be picked up when it is decidedly not. Geek Squad and Best Buy has not been a good experience for me and my family. I would never recommend to a friend. read more

Best Buy has really gone downhill, customer service on the phone is a nightmare including the automated system that wont let you talk to a real human being. I bought a Samsung cell phone the beginning of the year, after two months the locks me out and no way to get it work. I went to geek squad, and three other places to try to get my phone unlocked. The answer is there is no way to unlock it other than the reset the phone and I lose all my stuff. The manager would not refund my money, $428. So I cancel my Best Buy card and tell them I am not going to pay anything on that card. On to the next nightmare, I decided to cancel the $180 membership. I only used 4 months of it and wanted the prorated amount for 8 months. Well, they said I would only get $10 refund. I couldnt believe it! They never even shared that bit of info in the beginning if I cancelled early. I lose $120 for the 8 months. I just got scammed out of $550! I am so angry that they would do this to me. WARNING: do not do business at that store. Dont get scammed like they did to me. I am going to try to sell that locked phone and try to get some of my money back. read more
