Today I called someone I had been told was "the best appliance guy around," and unfortunately, my experience was the exact opposite. I spoke with Fred about a shattered cooktop glass. He asked for the serial number, looked it up, and immediately told me the replacement part was discontinued. According to him, my only option was to purchase a brand-new stove for over $2,000. I mentioned that I had checked the GE website and it appeared the part was still available. Instead of being open to that possibility, he became dismissive and condescending. He went on about his 30 years of experience and made it very clear that, in his mind, he couldn't possibly be wrong. When I asked if I could share the part number I found, he said he "didn't have time for this" and hung up on me. Beyond being incredibly rude, this kind of behavior could have cost me thousands of dollars. There was no willingness to help, no curiosity, and no basic customer service. For the record, I went ahead and ordered the "discontinued" part directly from GE without any issue--and their customer service was pleasant and helpful. Experience is valuable, but respect and professionalism matter just as much. This was a disappointing and frustrating interaction. read more

Contacted Miracle Appliance to inquire about a replacement part for our 20 year-old oven. I provided the unit model number, the necessary replacement part and, and how the part had failed. The "gentleman" said that he didn't have one in stock, but he could order the part from the factory. I mentioned that we had already investigated that and parts for our model oven were no longer available, he went into a diatribe about how I must have contacted him because he was our last option and I could either have him order the part or go buy another unit. Fred thanks so much you are a legend. You made my Dryer Great Again! You had it spot on. We had the Whirlpool Dryer drum not aligned properly on re-assembly multiple times...Once we had it lined up properly the drum would spin freely and easily on the newly replaced rollers, also the drum belt would line up properly and not rub on the idle pulley as it was before when seated improperly. Last time 26 months ago we only did 2 rollers and not all 4 as the kit bought online only came with 2 rollers, a belt and an incorrect pulley we didn't need. Lesson learned, every time I do this job I will plan on replacing all 4 rollers and the belt. I will be to your store next time being that you will have all the parts I need. My wife apologizes for questioning you with the size of the belt incorrectly. I knew it was correct too... :-) read more

I was going to order grate pads for the Thermidor gas cooktop on the website for $50. After a quick call to Fred I took my grate and he immediately recognized the pads. Have been driving from Santa Monica to buy from Miracle Appliance in Thousand Oaks for years; also referred many, many people. Called Fred to ask what I needed to fix my dryer. Fred said "start with door switch and belt". I told him that I'd already swapped a known hood door switch and said, "wouldn't I hear if the motor was starting?" Fred replied "I didn't say motor, I said belt". I understand but if belt was broken I'd still hear the motor, right? Fred abruptly said "thank you, have a nice day sir" and hung up on me. I just bought a Samsung washing machine sensor from this business.... It fit and worked perfectly. Fred is the owner and really helped me out and explained that Amazon might be cheaper, but the replacement parts are very inferior to genuine and will break a few weeks later.... After tearing apart my machine to replace this piece, I want it done right, so a bit more from his store for the right part works for me. The name said it all! Fred is the MAN! If Fred cannot fix it, trash it! I was looking for a plastic replacement-range-knob since the original one was missing its metal half-moon insert to the metal shaft of the range control switch. Fred recommended that I should go back to the range & look for the metal insert which he envisioned being slipped backward off the plastic knob. I doubted his recommendation & worried that I might waste my time going back & forth. So, I asked for a replacement metal insert & Fred made one & charged me for only $5. He told me to go & find the original insert. He said if found bring back the insert he made & he would refund my $5! It will be almost impossible to find this kind of guarantee service nowadays! Low & behold, Fred is right on the money. I found the original part just the way he described it! If I can give more than 5 stars, Fred deserved more at least 10! Fred to the rescue, once again! Our microwave was misbehaving (fan on when the door was open, couldn't run when the door was shut), so I found a YouTube video, partially disassembled the microwave, took the door interlock switch assembly in to Fred. He quickly assessed the remaining life in the bracket ("this is good!"), and handed me the three switches I needed for the door interlock.
