Best Buy, Union City August 2026 I've been here a few times, the services wasn't good so I didn't leave any negative comments. But last night, the experience was different. I was greeted and asked if I needed help right away which was nice. Although I wasn't in an urgent in need of a power changer or phone battery, it was nice to know what they have available. So I continued to browsed around. I was also greeted at the end as I was leaving, it was a very welcoming experience. I went in to buy an Rog Xbox Ally X and was helped by a young man. I asked for the open box section and one was brought out. The device was listed as Fair but was missing multiple items so he was able to reduce it by $20. Truly helpful and I was excited to take it home. At the point of sale he said that the Best Buy membership was on sale and the annual fee reduced to $180 would result in a 2 year warranty for the price of one year, and I had the membership perks such as 60 day return window. This was $199 after tax. After returning home I did more research and found the warranty lasts only as long as the membership is active, so I had been purposefully deceived by the salesman. I went back to the store and was able to get a refund for the membership and then paid outright for the 2 year warranty for $180. No tax on this warranty so I had saved $19 by just paying for the warranty instead. Deceitful sales practices at this store so beware. read more

Someone make a fraudulent charge on my credit card. Whoever ordered it even picked up the order because I got an email saying they did. Called the store and they said I needed to contact my bank via a recorded message. I did and my bank contacted Best Buy and they declined the claim even though another fraudulent charge was attempted that same day. Called multiple numbers and just got the runaround. Do better in your customer service. Will never step foot in a Best Buy ever again. read more

Long overdue, but definitely worth the review! I had a really positive experience at Best Buy in Union City when I brought my laptop in to get updated. The service did take a couple of days longer than initially anticipated, but honestly, that was the least of my worries. What mattered to me was that they got the job done, kept me informed, and ultimately took care of the issue. What really impressed me was that they even waived the $100 service fee, which I genuinely wasn't expecting. That kind of customer service definitely goes a long way, and I really appreciated them taking care of me. I also want to give a special shoutout to Christian Roxas, who was extremely professional, helpful, and genuinely pleasant to talk to throughout the process. He made the whole experience that much better--and I mean, he's handsome too, so that certainly doesn't hurt! Overall, I'd definitely recommend Best Buy in Union City to anyone who needs help with their electronics or needs a little technical assistance. I came by to Best Buy to just look around but later realized that I need to get a new charger for my phone the other one doesn't work anymore. Good news is that I'm able to find one with an affordable price. Bad news is that they seem to lack options not only for chargers but other products as well when I was looking for phone cases, headphones, and other products. I guess that you'll have to go through online shopping if you want more options. Absolutely do not recommend this Best Buy location. I walked in wearing a simple shirt and sweatpants and made it very clear to at least four or five employees that I was there to buy an Apple TV box. The store was nearly empty, yet I was treated with indifference and impatience. Some staff ignored me completely while others brushed me off and said someone else would have to help me. I was not there to return anything or file a complaint. I was there to make a purchase. I stood right in front of the product shelf waiting for assistance, and not a single employee offered to help for quite a while. After an unacceptable wait, someone finally agreed to assist me, but then I discovered that the exact same product was being sold at a higher price in-store compared to Apple's official online store. The overall service was worse than that of a small corner shop and completely unacceptable for a major electronics retailer. No matter how you judge a customer's appearance, treating people this way is disgraceful. I absolutely do not recommend this location. I came in today to get an iPad because my previous iPad was on its last leg. But it didn't look like there was anyone to help me get the item I needed so I looked for someone. He then told me to wait in the area and that someone would come to help me. And someone did... but then he ended up assisting two other people instead even though I was waiting for longer. Not only that, but the two others were indecisive and confused/uninformed; going back and forth on what they were getting and I didn't want to wait forever for them to decide. I'm usually kind and VERY patient but I was in a rush and wanted to be more assertive that I was waiting for a while and wanted to be helped as soon as someone was able. I told the first guy from earlier that I was annoyed other people were assisted before me. I don't think I was rude but I was definitely a little agitated. From there he got someone else to help me and that person was very quick and friendly. Actually all of the employees were friendly, I was just IRRITATED... I CAME FIRST! However upon arriving home I saw that they gave me the wrong color. I requested purple and he confirmed they had it, but he handed me the space grey which wasn't immediately obvious because all of the boxes look the same. It's not that big of a deal and I'm keeping the iPad anyway because I need it immediately for work but I just had really a poor experience today. Again the employees are very friendly and I feel slightly bad for how visibly irritated I was, but it's obvious to help the person who came before ESPECIALLY if what they need is quick! I would've been in and out in 5 minutes. As I'm writing this the other two customers are probably still there going back and forth. It's also partially their fault for not possessing common sense and courtesy. Even at the grocery store when I'M NOT EVEN THE FIRST IN LINE everyone usually lets me cut without me even asking when they see that I only need to buy one item while they all have full carts. Haven't been to a Best Buy in years. Went in the other week to pick up something quick. The front associates quickly greeted us and were super friendly. As we walked in the vibes changed. I was feeling uncomfortable because I felt an associate staring at us. It wasn't until we walked a few more steps into the aisle did they ask if we needed help. I understand that sometimes people just want to do their job and minimize chatting. My husband on the other hand, likes to make a little conversation...the associate just ignores him, scan the item, and hurriedly us away. That associate made me feel really uncomfortable. Wished they didn't even ask to help us, would much rather grab our item and leave--which is basically what happened. read more

I usually come to this Best Buy to pick up stuff I buy online. I never really go inside and shop around unless I just have Time to Kill. For the most part the few times that I've actually been inside and walked around never really approached by anybody unless I stand still looking at an expensive item or something of that nature. I do like that this Best Buy. It has a lot of new stuff that is advertised online and you can purchase online and like I said stop by and pick up at the store either curbside or inside you just go on the app and say you're there. They did remodel the inside so like I said I haven't been there in a while but it looks nice stuff you know is moved around. Geek Squad, customer service, the pick up area it's all moved around within the store which looks pretty nice for the most part. Overall I've never really had a bad experience per say, this is my go-to Best Buy since it is the closest one to my house. Although I was not greeted as I usually am when I used to go inside to shop around. The two guys that were there didn't even acknowledge me so I just walked in like nothing. In the 20 years as a Best Buy member this is the first time I've ever had a difficult return. The girl already took an attitude that I would not purchase a replacement item. She pulled the tv out of the box and plugged it in then asked me where are the white lines. I explain what the issue was and she still questioned the return. After 20 minutes of her making constant mistakes with return, another employee had to correct the mistake. Talk about incompetence! read more

"Guy#1": says he sees it in stock and he'll put a rush to it and to wait 20 minutes 37 minutes go by and another guy "guy#2" says they def have NOT had the items in stock all day -.- So I go grab the made model but a 50 inch's nd while I'm at checkout lo and behold AFTER I cancelled my online order went to the back to grab the 50 inch. Was the 55 inch sitting there. So I asked the check out counter "guy#3" if that's for me he said "oh idk we keep it up here for sale" -.- so I swapped it and went on my merry way .. DO NOT BUY YOUR FRIDGE HERE, I wish I would of bought my new fridge from a different store since the beginning. After purchasing the fridge on the 9th, it got delivered until the 20th. Then it didn't work and was my family was left with a powerless fridge until a technician came to see what the issue was. Once the technician saw what the issue was, I had to wait another week to get the repair done. After the repair the fridge turned on but wouldn't cool and had to wait again for a technician to come back to see what the issue was. Due to the thanksgiving holiday and black Friday deals their system was not ready for the influx of sales because they were delayed to respond to my urgent basic need of a refrigerator. Now I know that it is better to buy from a different store that works direct with local deliveries. The fridge from Best Buy had to be brought from a Tracy warehouse which added to the delay in delivery. I ended up buying another fridge on a Wednesday and delivery on that next Friday from another company. After buying the fridge from Best Buy on the 9th, delivery on the 20th, I was without a working fridge for 4 weeks, A WHOLE MONTHHHH, no one should have to go through this. It is not only uncomfortable, it is inhumane to have to live a life of less quality due to the non existent chance to keep food stored. read more

Do not trust Range Hood sales rep here. The sales rep (Thomas) recommended a kitchen range hood, after I said I stir fry and pan fry often and would need a range hood with the best suction. The one recommended is actually the worst, with low suction power and only one fan behind the hood. It's a model that the manufacture planned to discontinue. It's very dishonest. I would never buy from this store again. (Due to supply chain issues, it was delivered weeks after I ordered in-store, making it ineligible for return by the time it was installed by one crew and re-adjusted by another crew. I purchased a new laptop and thought I would need office with it. I didn't. So I went to return today, 8 days later and was told it was a final sale item. I was refused a refund. After checking their website I realized that office **IS** actually returnable. It is specifically excluded from the final sale items listed on their site. It took one 47 minute phone call where I was transferred literally 6 times until I got hung up on by the automated system, a second phone call a supervisor finally refunded the amount based on their own rules. I didn't even need an "exception." My greatest asset is my time. I needed a new washer. I was going to order online via Costco but a friend suggested I stop at Best Buy and my mother also suggested Best Buy, Home Depot, or even Lowe's because they have a lot of floor models to check out. Two wise people in my life so I would be a fool to ignore their suggestions. I found Tom Tisby (sales consultant) in the appliance section. Tom was extremely knowledgeable. Tom reminded me of those older gents that worked at hardware stores that knew EVERYTHING. I told him what my must haves were and he showed me a couple of washing machines and explained the features on them. I actually enjoyed our conversation because he not only knew the equipment, but he shared his personal experiences regarding washing machines with me. I learned a great deal from him. My intention was to stop by Lowe's as well since it was right next door but I ended up buying the machine Tom showed me. I also bought a warranty (Tom was not pushy about it). My old washer only lasted 3 years which was very upsetting. I bought 5 years because it worked out to be $34 a year which I'll gladly pay for the Geek Squad to provide me peace of mind. I have been online shopping for appliances but was hesitant to purchase through Costco because their delivery team will only move appliances in if it fits into your doorway (my understanding based on their disclaimers). The anxious side of me is worried they'll take the fridge back and I'll have to get someone else to remove the front door if needed - basically a logical nightmare! My friend reminded me that Best Buy does price matching. According to their online reviews, the delivery team will help with through the fit issue, so I find out the models I wanted are in stock by the price-matching must be done in a store. I made the trek there (not a small feat with the constant Bay Area throughout the day), expecting to take some time to place the order. I was helped immediately by Hashem. He worked quickly to look up the product availability for each appliance and was able to match the Costco member pricing. There are install costs ($25-30) per item (probably why they're willing to resolve for issues vs Costco's unwillingness to take care of this issue since install is free). When I signed up for the Total Tech one year subscription, the install fees are covered, along with the install accessories. Ismael helped me with the checkout and making sure I got the price-matched amount. I was in and out within 30-40 minutes, which was much quicker than I had expected. When you make big purchases like appliances, the process is easier when you talk to someone to address your questions and concerns. When you go into a store and an employee asks you if you need help they should have knowledge of what they're helping you with. I bought 2 items that the employee said was capable with my phone. I had an unexpected family emergency and had to go out of town. When I returned and was able to use the items I purchased just to find out they are not capable with my phone. I called Best Buy and because it's past the 14 day return policy they will not take them back. Their employees told me it was capable. I don't want to return it for my money back I want an exchange even if I have to pay the difference. What happened to customer service ? If their employees are not knowledgeable on their products they shouldn't be selling them. I would recommend Best Buy if I knew they weren't trying to get over on their customer and trying to make a sale. Five days later it's still not ready for pick up. Multiple days and hours wasted with representatives. Representatives giving conflicting information. To continue yelping, I need a reliable computer! Unfortunately the computer I am using to type this review is getting slow and pokey but still managable. The best thing I like about Best Buy is Black Friday in July. Today on Black Friday 7/11/22 they had an Asus Laptop for only $99 with free next day shipping! And on top of it, I am a Best Buy Credit Card only so I get a rate of 5% back in points versus non card holders. So a Win Win in all situations! Oh, the laptop I bought also has an industry first. The touch pad acts as a calculator with the touch of a button. Push the button again and it goes back to being a normal trackpad. I don't plan on using it for gaming as it's only intended for basic use but I'm excited to get it so I can get back to yelping more efficiently as I mainly write my reviews on the computer after checking in somewhere.
