    Mocha Iced Coffee.
    Nika'la D.

Service with a smile. The ladies are always smiling when I drive up. I always get the blueberry cake doughnut, boudain kolache, and iced coffee (vanilla). Today, I ventured out and tried the mocha, but I definitely love the vanilla flavored more. The only thing I do not like is that they charge you a $1.00 more for no ice on the iced coffee and do not tell you - it was listed on my receipt as "misc." I have attached a picture of how my mocha with ice is shown. It was DEFINITELY more ice than mocha iced coffee. The boudain kolache is always warmed up and I ask them to warm up my blueberry cake doughnut and I am in heaven Definitely a great breakfast spot that I love getting when I am in town doing sister duties :)

My receipt showing what I purchased and how much I spent.

I've been coming to this establishment for about 3 years now, this morning they got my order wrong. So I called them over the phone to let them know that I paid for sausage and bacon on one of my sandwiches but they only put the bacon and not the sausage. After working a 12 hour shift I did not want to go back and bring the sandwich I told her just write my name down I'll be back in the morning when I get off to order the same sandwich so rather than charging me for the extra meat they can just add it to my sandwich since I paid for it today but didn't receive it. I didn't ask for anything for free! This Asian lady (she wouldn't give me her name) that claim she was the manager laughed at me over the phone and said they gave me the sandwich with sausage on it basically calling be a liar. So I went in with the sandwich to show them there was no sausage she basically said somebody must have ATE the sausage and was laughing like it was a joke VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! Then she proceeded to say they have video so I asked her to pull the video and watch it with me and show be that they put the sausage on there. She got her phone looked at the video and put the phone in her back pocket and proceeded to give me my refund that I finally asked for bc I no longer wanted to do business with them. I said well I thought you was going to show me the video that proved they put the sausage on there she said it's not clear. So I asked to see the video when I looked at the video I asked her to show me where they put the sausage on the sandwich bc I don't see it she couldn't So then she said I think they may have put extra bacon on your sandwich instead of sausage by this time I'm pissed because ma'am being a manager all you had to do was make my order right! I didn't ask for nothing free no refund just wanted what I paid for. My total was $14.35 why would I lie about something that cost .60 cents?! The manager hated to admit that she was wrong and that they made a mistake which I understand that anyone can make a mistake the problem I had was I'm a paying customer she laughed in my face and basically insulted me by saying we must have ate the sausage! WHOMEVER THE OWNER OF THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS THE LADY THAT YOU HAVE AS YOUR MANAGER IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND DISGUSTING SHE NEEDS TO TAKE SOME CLASSES ON HOW TO RUN A BUSINESS, HOW TO TREAT CUSTOMERS AND HOW TO ACCEPT ACCOUNTABILITY WHEN SHE IS IN THE WRONG!!! 7-11-2025

This bright clean family-friendly atmosphere is just the place I needed to get my day started. I was greeted with a smile and a positive attitude, and left with bounty of goodies. As a self-described donut enthusiast, these are truly the BEST DONUTS. It's hard to put these donuts greatness in words, I guess I would say these donuts are like having a party in your mouth and only you and the donut are invited. Aside from their 5 star donuts, I highly recommend the boudin kolaches!!! Why are you still reading this? You should be in your car heading to Best Donuts right now!!!!

Great service and delicious food. The tacos are my favorite part, the salsa is mildly sweet which I love.

Restaurant is located Inside an old house that has been a few different businesses over the years. Inside AC seating is limited. Plenty of outside picnic tables where you can enjoy smelling the sweet smoke from the pits. Because this is really good Q and lots of people visit old Montgomery and the Sam Houston Forest this is one of those "line BBQ places" at peak times. They are moving to a new bigger location. We saw some great options ( Truth, Triple J, Killen's, and Brisket & Rice were all in the running, and we didn't try any of those so can't say on them). This was a thought out choice and I was super excited to try them! Being a family run operation was really awesome to me as well. First the good to great: the staff was super nice and helpful. The brisket was ah-mazing. Not too Smokey but cooked very tender and delicious! The barbecue sauce was on point. Sauces tend to range from too thin to too thick, too sweet to too spicy but Bar A's hit the bulls eye! Not too thin, not too sweet...I really enjoyed the brisket! Walking up, the smells were incredible! A nice outdoor spot to eat (it was a very mild day and just beautiful out..but I digress). Also, the Mac and Cheese...oh my!! Some of the best I've ever had! The downside: We drove an hour and a half especially to eat here...it was our primary reason for heading up to Montgomery! Getting there around 3pm, you would figure is a sweet spot for a restaurant open from like 11-6 on a Friday. When we went to order as we're trying to figure out the plate we want, you know, 2 meats or 3 meats ...sides, yum, as you're drooling, we were going for the TRINITY Plate. Brisket, rib and sausage...a nice cross section. Nope, we can't do a TRINITY. we only have brisket and turkey left. I know a lot of people love turkey. I'm not one of them and my heart was set on Beef. So now we're on a 1 meat and two sides track I guess. Ok, can we do brisket on the one meat? "Sure I can do that" was the cheery reply. So we got two plates brisket, and I asked could you make that moist cut brisket (my favorite, while my wife always prefers the lean). "Nope, sorry, we're all out of moist brisket". Ok, so one plate with cheesy potato casserole (doesn't that just sound amazing?) and Mac & cheese and one plate With cheesy potato casserole and pinto beans, that way we can get more great tastes and share, right? Oh, and bread, pickles, onions and jalapeños. (The bread is Martins and is always amazing if you know what I'm talking about...I think it's potato roll bread?). Got our plates and start to pay...two $20 plates and no drinks, just water. Over $50! Hmmm, well, the one meat tray with brisket has a $4 up charge. Hmmm. Sat down and got to chowing down! Here's where disappointment sets in. As I said, brisket and sauce was on point. The onions are maybe slightly pickled, not sure, but also very good. The meat, was 3 slices of brisket...4 would have been a sweet spot but eh, 3. The sides. Cheesy potato casserole had the texture of rice...I kept thinking it was rice as I ate it. It had some spice to it but very little flavor. Very disappointing. Mac & cheese--ah-mazing! Pinto beans were like a salt-a-holics take on ranch style beans. Not good. Almost not edible. But I was hungry. I put some sauce on the potato casserole and made it taste ok...still couldn't get Over the rice texture (I'm not saying it had rice, but just had the texture of a rice pilaf ). Two pieces of great bread rounded it out! So overall, disappointed that there wasn't more to choose (ribs, moist brisket, sausage) and I get it, They make so much and sell out then that's good business for them. To the customer who drove and hour and a half to eat there, not so good business. The sides were 1 for 3 in the good to great category and worst of all, after spending $50+ on lunch for 2, I was still hungry. I wouldn't have expected that for sure. I couldn't decide between 3 or 4 star but my missing stars shake out like this: 1 went because of availability and then ultimately being up charged for what was left. And 1 went for disappointing 2 out of 3 sides and portion size/value. Sorry, we didn't take any photos of the food.

On this occasion, I was at another business in the same parking lot and was able to walk over and see that they were open. I ordered a cold brew and a nutella pastry, but I was pretty unimpressed by both. The cold brew's beans were very sharp (Starbucks-esque), I would say. And the pastry that the woman told me was hazelnut based, just seemed to be kind of a stale baked good with a bunch of nutella piled in the middle. I hate to be negative about a small business, but I'm just being honest that I probably would not return again. Maybe if you're a fan of heavily flavored coffees, this might be the place for you, as I saw they had a lot of options on that front. But for me, I'm rounding up to 3-stars because this is a very small business with friendly people working here.

That side of the business was a little disorganized for my taste, but maybe that's the look they are going for. Something carefree and homey. They didn't have a big variety of pastries, but it was really good to know that some, if not all, are baked there. We had a cinnamon swirl muffin along with lemon pound cake. They were both amazing. The muffin was fresh out if the oven, that doesn't happen in many places. As for the coffees, I had an iced pumpkin spice. I liked that it was a smooth taste and not overpowering. I hate when they taste like you are drinking a pumpkin pie. It seemed a little watered down. Perhaps the coffee was not as strong, not sure. Overall, I think it could've been better. Loved the friendly service. That alone will have me coming back to try something else. After all, we are in the area every Thursday morning, I rather support a local coffee shop instead of Starbucks.

I went with the Fayrweather Byrd (BBQ Chicken) and the Southbound, which is like a Tex-Mex pizza - headlined by beef fajita meat. I thought the fayrweather byrd was pretty ideal. I ordered mine without jalapenos because my wife and I are really wusses when it comes to spicy food. My wife tried one bite of one slice and I ate the rest of the entire pizza by myself. Not because I was still hungry by the end, but because it was so delicious. And to make matters worse for my appetite, I also ate more than half of the Southbound, making it 13 slices in one sitting for me. I didn't have to include these embarrassing details in my review, but here I am, outing myself. I thought the southbound was fine, but would probably go for something else on the menu next time. Lastly, we finished with a mother fudger brownie. When I ordered it (to-go), he asked if we wanted everything on top: ice cream, whip cream, etc. I said yes, because I assumed it would be kept separate. But unfortunately, it was all packed into one box, so by the time I got home, it was virtually all melted. Don't get me wrong, it was still delicious, but I'd probably only order this if you plan on eating it as soon as it's made. I will definitely check out Dizzy Pies again, as it's a very solid option in the neighborhood.
