BEST DONUTS I EVER HAD!! I CANT WAIT TO GO AGAIN! Customer services is amazing and everyone is always happy and being nice!

There seems to be some confusion regarding the two different Best Donuts located in Stanton. This review pertains to the Best Donuts on Beach Blvd (Beach and Lampson). It seems that for the last few years, people have only been posting reviews for both Best Donuts (the one Beach Blvd and the other one on Chapman Ave) on the Yelp site for the Chapman location. Again, this review pertains to Best Donuts on Beach Blvd. The shop is very spacious inside. There is a large donut counter on one side and drink refrigerators in back. Like a lot of Asian shops, there are lots of miscellaneous little items to buy. I had a Croissant with Ham, Egg, and Cheese. I was asked if I wanted added jalapeños, but nothing else. The sandwich was very good, with a slightly sweet croissant and lots of sandwich fillings. I could see myself ordering this again. I didn't try any donuts but they looked generally fresh and there was a good choice of product. There were several sodas with twist-off tops, but none that were sugar-free. I ended up getting a bottle of water. Virus protection efforts here were rather casual. There is a short plastic barrier near the cash register, and the gal working here wasn't wearing a mask or gloves (contrary to current OC safety provisions). They can do better. UPDATE: This shop now appears in Yelp searches. I believe that it did not appear in Yelp Searches for several years because for some reason it had been labeled as "Closed". That meant that the other Best Donuts, in Stanton, started getting reviews from both locations. read more

For the one on Beach/Lampson: I really delayed writing this review, because I'm too considerate about others potentially losing their business. But, after thinking it over for 4 months, I've decided to say something or else donut places will not improve in the area and it ruins everyone's experience not just mine. So I was taking a long 4 mile walk to really work up for some donuts, really earn them. You know when you had donuts sitting over the next day at the office? U know how they taste right? Well what if you brought donuts in on Friday and came back on Monday and some poor coworker sap tried one? Well now you get an idea how old and bad these donuts were. I'm only gonna give an extra point because the person running the shop, was friendly and said she could add cream to the donut bars. Well thanks, but all that cream can't hide 2 day old donuts. It seems to me, no matter where I go after the pandemic, everyone is cheaping everyone out. They expect MORE money, but everywhere I go in this city they are giving out old food. Lucky my Mom didn't come. She'd let her have it. I was really hoping for fresh donuts, and yes I came in the morning. Please find a way to be better. yes it will cost you money to be fresh and throw stuff out, why not give it to the poor? If word keeps going around that y our donuts are like eating leather shoes, no one will come and that will hurt more. I really didn't want to give you a bad impression, but it helps no one if I don't be honest. Sorry there's no pictures, I threw the donuts out on the way walking home. Whether or not Best Donuts has, in fact, the "best" donuts available is debatable, I suppose. Extended further, it's also understandably arguable as to whether or not Best Donuts is referring to simply being the best on the block or the best in Stanton proper, the best in Orange County or the best in California, the best on the West Coast or the best this side of the mighty Mississippi. The "best" certainly implies being...well, the "best." (Superlatives can be suspect.) However... For the price, Best Donuts really might be the best. I would agree, anyway. For a dozen, I paid $7.75. Not bad, right? And as far as convenience goes, I would again say that Best Donuts is the best (they're right next to work.) Easy in, easy out--no long drive-thru's. Moreover, in considering presentation, Best Donut's donuts look pretty scrumptious, don't they? Standard, maybe; but scrumptious, indeed! Added... There's a very nice woman working there. Always a "good morning" and always a "thank you for coming." I don't know about you--everyone is different--but I'll bet we all share something in common: we appreciate being appreciated. And here, at Best Donuts, I feel it. That's important. So as far as handing out superlatives goes, Best Donuts, you deserve the award. You're the "best"! =] read more

Best donuts is located on Beach Blvd and Lampson, in a strip mall next to several other food places. They offer basic donuts, breakfast croissants, and tamales. The lady behind the counter was very pleasant---I got 2 dozen for my co-workers, and upon opening and trying one, I can tell you this is a "standard" donut shop, 2 dozen donuts ran for $17. Best Donuts in Stanton is a very fitting name. This is at Beach Blvd/Lampson Ave in the same lot as Quiznos, Yoshinoya, and the soon to open 7-11. This donut store is ran by a super friendly elderly Vietnamese couple. The donuts are always fresh and taste wonderful. Where this place shines though is the apple fritters. Crunchy outside.... moist inside... chunks of cinnamon apples and a nice sugar glaze. Delicious! Some of my other favorites are the big puffy glazed, cinnamon bun, and the donut holes. The lady is always soooo nice and usually throws in an extra donut since she can tell by my stomach I'm being modest by just buying two. What's funny is I saw this fat kid come in with a buck and he was totally haggling with this lady to get a bunch of donut holes, she ended up giving in just from the effort this kid was putting into it. My only complaints are the parking lot in this plaza royally sucks big time... never enough spots for this place. I can't imagine how it will be once 7-11 opens up. Other issue is this place is cash only. This probably works out in my favor since this is right next to where I live and if they took plastic I'd be eating way too many donuts. read more

This is the only place I get my donuts! I've known the owners family for a very long time. They are honest, hard working people that make some really good donuts. They've recently started selling blueberry donuts. I prefer these over M&M donuts any day. They deliver the right amount of sweetness without making you feel like you've just had a block of glaze (which is what I felt like when I had the M&M blueberry donut). Overall, I love this place and my boyfriend and I frequent this donut shop every time he comes here to visit. We always come home with a box full of yummy donuts :) I would also like to note that they also have a non-glazed blueberry donut. My mom (being a diabetic) loves these! This place is on the bottom of the list for donut shops. The place in general doesn't look clean at all! Not a very good sign for any place selling food. The donuts themselves are below average. They have a limited selection regardless of what time in the morning you go. How does a donut place not have apple fritters. So I ended up getting a egg and cheese croissant that I literally took a few bites of and threw away the rest. Horrible customer service aswell. I also got a dozen donuts spending $15 there and the lady had the nerve to say I charge $1 for using debt card. Never again read more

Best donuts on Beach and Lampson is sub par. The service was fine, and prices were reasonable. Hated they charged me extra for a small eclaire. Other places didn't. Also hated they charged me extra to use my debit card. Donuts tasted OK but dry. The looked old and not ready for a busy Saturday. Selection was small, and quality just isn't there. Doesn't bother me but if your big on covid avoid this place. I walked in with 1 other person, I was picking out a dozen and turned around to see 10 people behind me in the store. Was on my way to visit my cousins in Stanton and was craving for a ham and cheese croissant, and didn't want to show up empty handed to my cousin's house. I simply used Google maps to find the closest donut shop and stumbled upon this hidden gem. The shop definitely deserves its name. Upon arriving, I was greeted by the nice lady behind the counter who was working by herself. She speaks Vietnamese so we had a nice little conversation as she warmed up my jalapeno croissant. I also bought a bag of a dozen donut holes to bring back to the little cousins. The jalapeno croissant here is definitely in the lead when comparing to other donut shops. The croissant pastry was fluffy, not stale, and the best part was, cheese continued to be stay melted the entire time. It's really rare for me to find croissants where the cheese actually stays melted instead of solidifying. Any place that can keep their croissant cheese melted the whole time is definitely an A in my book! My little cousins also destroyed the bag of donut holes within minutes! They loved it so much that they asked for more. The greatest joy was definitely seeing how much my little cousins enjoyed the donut holes, hence the 5 stars review. As for the prices here, I thought that the nice lady gave me a discount because everything came out to be so cheap!! After looking at the prices, I realized that I did not get a discount, but the prices here are unbeatable! She would not make any profit if she did give me a discount! I love donuts. Sweet, fried dough? What's not to love? I was craving donuts for awhile. I usually go to the Donuttery in Huntington Beach, but it's kind of out of the way for me. Feeling lazy, I decided to just check out Best Donuts. I got a blueberry donut and some chocolate donut holes. The donuts were really good! The blueberry donut had a nice, slightly crispy glaze on the outside and was soft on the inside. It also had a nice blueberry flavor. The one thing I didn't really like was that it crumbled very easily. When I tried to break off a piece, the donut just fell apart. The donut holes were also really good. Everything seemed freshly made. Service was just okay. They weren't all that friendly. Overall, the donuts were really good. "Best" might be a stretch, but definitely a good place to stop by if you don't feel like driving far for donuts. read more

Super inexpensive & so good! I brought a box to work to share with everyone on Fathers Day, and the donuts were a huge hit! I got a mix of a few different kinds and everyone seemed to love them. Donuts here were average. Decide to come get some donuts after eating at Yoshionya. The store is kinda small but they offered many kinda of doughnuts. The guy behind the counter seemed nice but i was not able to understand a word he was saying. CAUTION do not get the Thai Tea not sure if he just messed up but the Thai Tea tasted like cheese. I used to eat here alot. Several years ago the current owners took over. I almost always got a ham and cheese croissant and coffee. I'll start with the coffee first. If you visit this place any time after 9am, their coffee is no longer in coffee pots on the machine, but stored in a thermos-which doesn't keep it hot, just lukewarm. When I complained about this, they offered to "microwave it" for me. What?! Microwaved coffee? Are you kidding me? GROSS. Next, the ham and cheese. They should change the name of these to "ham croissants," because there is barely any cheese at all. The first time I thought, okay, things happen. But then I got another one on my next visit the same way. Then another. FInally I would open my croissant prior to eating, and I kid you not, the "cheese" was the size of a 50 cent coin! W.T.F.! One time I could give them a break and say it was a mistake. But after 7-8 times, it's obvious they are skimping big time on the cheese-which means they are intentionally cheating their customers, just to save a few cents. FAIL. PS The lady owner constantly gives this one filthy homeless guy a free cup of coffee and donut every time he's in the center. She's been doing this for years. I tried to explain to her that while I admire her altruistic spirit, this center has a MAJOR problem with homeless people and giving them free food and drink only encourages them to keep coming. It was my first time at Best Donuts. Out of no where I was greeted by a worker as I walked toward the counter. She was very friendly. The place looked cleaned. I ordered myself a chocolate bar and a small milk. The donuts seemed to be very fresh and well-made. To my surprise I found out that the owner made the delicious donuts themselves. I paid for my goods with cash and left. I wanted to use my card, but they only take cash. The worker informed me that their customers do not spend enough $ for the owner to put in an ATM machine. Owners are beyond nice as well as their family who sometimes fills in for them!! I really only go here for their chocolate donut holes!! The only place I've ever seen these little guys. Great little donuts shop. Unlike other eaterys in this plaza, this place opens early for you everyday! The donuts are fresh and the ham and cheese crossaints are awsome.
