They didnt have traditional crumb doughnuts, it was late Sunday and they were out. I tried for the 1st time ever, their Orange doughnut. Very moist, flavorful and delicious! My go to spot! They dont compare to any other donut joint. Always so friendly and accommodating as i cannot have alot of sugar. They make my non dairy unaweetened ice coffee perfect. Delicious bran muffins, no other place ever has bran muffins. Once upon a time i used to love getting their toasted cream cheese croissants, i got many friends addicted to them. Donuts here were average. Decide to come get some donuts after eating at Yoshionya. The store is kinda small but they offered many kinda of doughnuts. The guy behind the counter seemed nice but i was not able to understand a word he was saying. CAUTION do not get the Thai Tea not sure if he just messed up but the Thai Tea tasted like cheese. I used to eat here alot. Several years ago the current owners took over. I almost always got a ham and cheese croissant and coffee. I'll start with the coffee first. If you visit this place any time after 9am, their coffee is no longer in coffee pots on the machine, but stored in a thermos-which doesn't keep it hot, just lukewarm. When I complained about this, they offered to "microwave it" for me. What?! Microwaved coffee? Are you kidding me? GROSS. Next, the ham and cheese. They should change the name of these to "ham croissants," because there is barely any cheese at all. The first time I thought, okay, things happen. But then I got another one on my next visit the same way. Then another. FInally I would open my croissant prior to eating, and I kid you not, the "cheese" was the size of a 50 cent coin! W.T.F.! One time I could give them a break and say it was a mistake. But after 7-8 times, it's obvious they are skimping big time on the cheese-which means they are intentionally cheating their customers, just to save a few cents. FAIL. PS The lady owner constantly gives this one filthy homeless guy a free cup of coffee and donut every time he's in the center. She's been doing this for years. I tried to explain to her that while I admire her altruistic spirit, this center has a MAJOR problem with homeless people and giving them free food and drink only encourages them to keep coming. Came in trying to find a new local donut shop and boy did I hit the jackpot. Although lots of people like the gourmet and specialities donuts, this place had everything I wanted. I ordered a croissant breakfast sandwich and a chocolate frosted donut. The donut didn't look any different than your average donut but boy did it have an amazing taste. The donut felt so fresh and light. It wasn't overly sweet like some other places make it, in my opinion it was just perfect. The customer service was great making sure that I had everything I needed. I happened to walk in with another older couple and the owner greeted them and talked with them seeing as they were regular customers. The donuts are "ok". Not the best ive had. Ive once bought donuts from there and by the next day they were all stale as if they been sitting in the box for a week. Ive gone to a different donut place somewhere in fullerton and when i buy THEIR donuts, they remain the same way the next day. Soft and STILL FRESH. It was my first time at Best Donuts. Out of no where I was greeted by a worker as I walked toward the counter. She was very friendly. The place looked cleaned. I ordered myself a chocolate bar and a small milk. The donuts seemed to be very fresh and well-made. To my surprise I found out that the owner made the delicious donuts themselves. I paid for my goods with cash and left. I wanted to use my card, but they only take cash. The worker informed me that their customers do not spend enough $ for the owner to put in an ATM machine. This is no ordinary donut shop, the ladies that work here, Jenny and Kiang LOVE what they do and it shows. They go above and beyond for everyone. They remember your name and your order every time you come. No other donut shop that I've ever been to do they make me feel so special. If you stay and have your breakfast at the shop it doesn't take long to see how many regulars walk in by the way they converse with each other, it's quite nice actually; it give the shop a home feel. I order the #3 bacon, egg and cheese. And they add ** jalapeños!! There's not very spicy almost sweet in the sand which so they're a perfect burst of flavor. If I'm ever in a hurry I call ahead and she already knows who it is and let's me know it'll be ready. Came in here for donut holes intending to buy two dozen. I requested that she put them in 2 separate bags. The lady put 8 donut holes in each bag. I wasn't sure what her definition of a dozen was...because last time I checked, one dozen = 12. I understand that some places charge differently (e.g. I went to a place that charged $1 for 10 donut holes), which is fine, so after she put 8 in each bag, I asked her to clarify her definition of a dozen. She said 12. I told her that she only put 8 in each bag, so she proceeded to give me the rest. Turns out she was short one donut hole. Not a huge deal. Got home and the donuts didn't have that traditional donut taste. They tasted more like the Vietnamese banh tieu with the sesame. Times are difficult, but that doesn't mean you should cheat people. If you decide to get donuts here, make sure you count your donuts because this probably wasn't the first time they gave fewer donuts. I won't be going here again. read more

Total disappointment. If you're looking for good tamales, don't waste your time. I came here for the tamales after reading all the good reviews on Yelp. I purchased 2 of each (pork, chicken, and chile 'n cheese) at $2.25 a pop. I don't mind paying a little extra if they are good, authentic tamales. These were absolutely horrible. They all had the overwhelming taste of rosemary, which I'm not a fan of, and find an odd ingredient for tamales. The chile 'n cheese was more like rosemary 'n cheese. Not what I expected. Great Muffins, they have the best muffins I have had. I stop by this place to buy some muffins for my work place and everybody love it. Their Blueberries muffin is delicious. This place is amazing. We came for donuts about 11am hoping she wouldn't be out of anything. I was relieved that her case was still half full. Last day of vacation in California and I was set on getting donuts one morning for breakfast. I ordered a regular glazed, one maple bacon, and pork tamales. The idea of tamales instead of breakfast tacos, which get so boring, is awesome. And they are HUGE tamales, maybe $2.25 a piece. Seriously so delicious I can't get over it. We're from Texas and they rival my friends abuelita's tamales. The donuts are fluffy and warm and lightly glazed which is so great. The maple bacon was a long donut with a huge slab of bacon pressed into the maple icing. It's genius. It's amazing. It's better than any other Maple-Bacon-Anything. Grammy (forgot her name) is the sweetest woman you'll ever meet, kind and funny. The shop is perfectly clean and the signs are all easy to read. They had many other donuts, fresh daily made croissants, muffins, bear claws, etc. I believe she also had several coffee variations to offer, as well as your average drink section; milk, soda, juice, water, Gatorade...
