Back when I was less health conscious I used to buy donuts here frequently. I hadn't been back for a while. Last week I was craving donuts so popped into Amy's about 5:30 on a Tuesday morning. Had sticker shock when I was that prices had increased to $1.95 per donut. Nonetheless I purchased 3 donuts, a glazed buttermilk, a glazed jelly, and a white frosting with sprinkles cake donut. I was surprised at how small the cake donut was, definitely seemed significantly smaller than in the past. The donuts were all good but not amazing. It's still a solid donut establishment but not great, especially at over $6 with sales tax for just 3 small donuts. read more

This is a great little mom and pop shop just like a donut shop should be. It's got everything we've come to love from these donut shops; from the over crowded walls personalized with mementos from encounters only those involved know about to the classic pink countertops. The donuts, pretty good. I've gotten their Apple fritters and crullers. They are exactly what you expect, and fresh. I have not had a stale donut yet. The true gem here though is their coffee and their customer service. The times I've come here the ladies working the counter have been phenomenal. They're friendly, quick on the service and always toss in at least an extra donut hole for the road. And their coffee... Francine, their coffee! I like mine iced, and unless it's a fancy coffee spot for some reason nobody can seem to get the perfect balance to a plain iced coffee. I mean cream and sugar, not too sweet. Let me tell you, they know what they are doing with their iced coffee here. Not too sweet, never bitter and always tastes like a proper iced coffee should. I do recommend you stop by early since they get quite the traffic. It seems like people have gotten the word out because they get busy so their donuts go by fast! read more

So I'm back to trying another local donut shop and today's lucky joint is Amy's Donuts. I picked Amy's coz it's on the way to wherever I was going. Anyhoo, the lady behind the counter was very cheerful and friendly; she even gave me a free donut hole even before I told her about the Yelp check-in offer so plus points to her. I got just two donuts - glazed and sugar raised twist bars. Both were fluffy and tasty; definitely up there alongside Nevin's. The donut holes were good too... though I didn't care much for the sprinkles. Happy to have found another top donut shop even if it's not quite walking distance from where I currently live. read more

Order the plain buttermilk bar - I love this. It's crispy and crunchy on the outside, and soft inside. Perfect with coffee 4. Order the chocolate glazed donut - because you need a dessert donut after your plain buttermilk bar. Trust me :) 5. Order the blueberry donut - this will satisfy your sweet tooth. Dunk in coffee for best results 6. Order the plain donut - For later 7. Order large coffee - I heated up some milk and eggnog at home and added to the coffee. Tasty. 8. Pay and tip well. First time customer! I was at the laundromat a couple doors down and decided to stop in for a single donut and coffee while I wait for my wash. I was immediately greeted by two women with friendly smiles. I picked a classic chocolate with sprinkles and a vanilla iced coffee. My total was $4.90. I took my little white bag and iced coffee and sat in my car to enjoy. I was pleasantly surprised that she had snuck a free donut hole into the bag! It was light and perfectly coated in glaze. Then I took a bite of the chocolate with Sprinkles. It was also lightand fluffy. The chocolate frosting was good and the sprinkles were plentiful. The iced coffee came out quick, was just the right amount of sweet but I didn't love it. So I did take one star off for that. It's not that it was bad, it just wasn't really to my liking. Maybe I picked the wrong flavor? But it definitely was not watered down at all so that's a plus. I can see why so many locals have been coming here for years. Cute little donut shop with fast service, great donuts and more! I got a dozen donuts and a bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. The donuts were all fresh and yummy! The sandwich was meh...not enough bacon, a bit too much cheese, and way too greasy. It didn't taste bad, but I definitely won't be getting their breakfast sandwiches again. This coffee shop made my day. I walked in and was immediately greeted by the sweetest person. Gave me all the options for my inquiry in types of coffee and croissants. The variety of what is offered is what is telling me to go back and try. This time I ordered the ham and cheese croissant and a coffee. I ate the entire croissant before I even pulled into the parking lot at work. It was great. The croissant was fluffy. Loved it. The coffee is standard coffee you would expect. This is a tiny shop in a tiny strip mall that would probably go un-noticed if you did not know it was there. I found it via Yelp and drove right past it. They have all your basic Donuts, coffee and drinks. Nothing special or out of the ordinary. They have glazed, sprinkled, custard filled ect. I usually stick with the familiar flavor of a glazed twist and chow it down in my car and devour it before I make it down to Chapman Ave. Service is always fast and friendly and I always get a few free donuts holes that my hips adore every time I check in. I come here at 6am every Saturday with my daughter. The owners are always nice and friendly and service is fast and efficient. There is nothing fancy here. I like it because it is a regular old traditional donut shop. Fresh in the mornings and the average variety. Our faves are the chocolate bars and twists and sugar donuts. My son loves the cream filled chocolate round. I don't need fancy donuts that cost a lot of money. I LOVE THIS DONUT SHOP!! Linda helped me out this morning, and made the day for me and my coworkers. There were quite a few people who came in the same time as me, but Linda took all of our orders perfectly. She even recognized the regulars in her shop and remembered their previous orders. I needed a dozen donuts, and they all tasted great! Linda even threw in a few donut holes. Then I asked her if she could give me a carafe of coffee. For a $20 refundable deposit, I was able to get nice, hot coffee for my office, and it lasted all day. I definitely plan on coming back! My co-worker came here for National Donut Day and brought us some donuts from here. Pretty much your standard donuts. Soft, light, and sweet but not too sweet. The ladies that run this place are friendly (we hug when we see each other elsewhere) and super efficient. I get the vibe that they know about 90% of their customers by face/order. I usually stop by here when I'm running late for work and didn't have time to eat at home. I recommend their coffee (hot or iced and with hazelnut creamer YUM), donut holes, cinnamon crumb donut, & my family's favorite - ham & cheese croissant. Im not a huge fan of donuts (I have to be in the mood for one which is rare) but I stopped here with my boyfriend and it was fantastic. The interior is clean and the food is fantastic! I got a croissant sandwich (the number 3) which was amazing, the croissant was buttery and flaky and it was delicious. We also got a dozen donuts which were really good, she also threw in an extra one for my baby (Im pregnant and showing big time) which was so super sweet of her!
