Honestly, the donuts looks like they've had a very long, very difficult day. It's definitely not the "fresh-from-the-bakery" vibe most people yelped about. Extremely disappointed. I was looking for a fresh treat, but what I got was a geological sample. The frosting on this donut was so shriveled and cratered it looked more like a topographical map of Mars than a dessert. Our road trip go to! Near the intersection of the 405 and 22 next to ice rink. The donuts are fresh, but we come here for their amazing breakfast sandwiches, whenever we go on a road trip. I'm always happy to support mom and pop business, especially when they work hard. We grab a donut and coffee whenever we are in the area. Their apple fritters are great and have crispy edges. They are some of my favorites. I also like the plain buttermilk for something less sweet. It is a small shop in an old strip mall, so have low expectations for ambiance. When I say these are the best donuts I have ever had I'm not exaggerating at all. They are incredible and not only when they're fresh out of the oven, but every moment of the day from open to close. My favorite is the maple covered cinnamon role, if you like maple or cinnamon roles you will be obsessed. I get it , the economy is terrible and it's hard to afford to do business BUT that's no excuse to short your customer for profit! 10 bucks for a kid size breakfast sandwich and no condiments whatsoever to go with it. Beware of fake Bagels! This was the first time I encountered a fake bagel. I really was craving a bagel the day I went, and I used to go there often, when I lived very close by. We ordered a sugar donut and a bagel with cream cheese. The "bagel" was basically, a Kaiser roll. It just squished down as I grabbed it. Also, my friend did not like the donut. Donuts are not good here don't waste your money. Taste is not right something missing from the dough. Over priced I bought 3 donuts not good at all and was charged 6.25 for using my cc card. He said if I gave him cash would it only be 5.25 he said service charge. He does not give you receipt to reflect surcharge does not give you credit card receipt back either to show transaction charge. So this is a problem. CDTFA should be notified that owner would rather receive cash so it's not reported. Audit is must for this location if not charging sales tax but a transaction charge over 1.00. I came in to buy breakfast and ordered 2 hot pressed croissants, they didn't tell me my croissants had jalapeños in them and gave them to me just like that, I didn't find out til I was biting into the croissant. I could've been allergic to jalapeños and they were giving me food I didn't order. I went back to get a refund or a replacement and they didn't help claiming the guy that took our order told us there was jalapeños in them but didn't want to come to the front to talk to me. They didn't help at all and told us to just pick out the jalapeños and eat it like that. Holy cow the croissants here are amazing. My wife had to fly out for work in a few hours and wanted something easy to eat for breakfast. I saw pictures of the ham, cheese, jalapeño croissants on yelp and though they were perfect size since they looked really small in the pictures. WRONG! These are massive! One croissant took up almost an entire dinner plate! They just came out of the oven when I arrived and the aroma was mouth watering. For $2.50 it had a nice amount of ham, cheese, and jalapeños. Donna and I both loved them! Per the sign they had sausage croissants too. Yum! Besides I was looking at so many amazing donuts I purchased a apple fritter which I cut in half to share. Not greasy or dense, very light with a strong apple taste. Wasn't as good as "Best Donuts" in Stanton but it definitely comes in second place. Just a small old school donut shop with amazingly delicious donuts and pastries. Can you believe the amount of weight I gained from this place everyday??! I have a sweet tooth. But I don't like desserts that are overly sweet! Their donuts are perfect. Sweet enough to indulge and to fill the cravings in my mouth. oh and..Cheap! cheap! cheap!! Their donut holes are a dozen for $1 and they have these delicious cream cheese flaky pastries that are out of this world.. $1.25!! Ham and cheese croissants are $1.75. I don't know what kind of Swiss/ white cheese they use but it's incredible delicious! And when its hot, the cheese just melts slowly in your mouth. We stopped here when we were out of town, since the place was highly recommended, and we wanted to try and support local businesses on our trip. The store is older, so don't expect an immaculate place. They've removed the chairs and have only left tables for you to stand by if you're there for a bigger order, or if you're playing lotto. The owners of the shop were very kind to us, and very welcoming to everyone who was in and out. They remembered us the second and the last day, and they were very talkative with us all days we stopped by. We got a dozen donuts each time, and I don't even think I got a picture of them actually! The second day we went, we tried their ham & cheese croissants which were fresh out the oven. We had to wait to try them when we got back to our room since they were so fluffy and amazing smelling, but wanted to avoid being burnt. The donuts are good, Cali style donuts you'd expect. The coffee was okay, it lacked a little more boldness, but they do have other options/flavors you can try. They even have ice, so the morning we left we got our ice from them to avoid having to stop at a convenience store. Oh my gosh! Hands down Heidi s makes the BEST donuts! It's almost impossible to find French crullers, and Heidi's crueler s literally melt in your mouth. Of course, our favorite is always going to be the whipped cream filled chocolate raised - perfection! Heidi's is a small donut shop located off of Springdale and GG blvd, located in the same area as the ice skating rink you can see from the 22 fwy. As you walk in you can just smell the croissants cooking, and following super-yelper Steve S's lead I ordered some ham/cheese and blueberry croissants, which were just delicious. The blueberry croissants also had some cream cheese inside of them, and it was balanced perfectly. The ham and cheese croissants were really good as well, although I did wish there was some more ham inside of them! The donuts that we got were good as well, although I think I would come here for the croissants. When a good friend of mine claimed that Heidi's Donuts' Ham and Cheese Croissants were superior to Seaside Bakery, I was skeptical, but more than excited. Once I trekked over and ate one, I drove to my friends house (25 miles away) and slammed the half eaten croissant sandwich on her table and said: "ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?!" At $2.50, you can receive a pretty well-sized croissant that has minimal amount of ham and cheese. The jalapeno is integrated inside the ham too. The main difference between Heidi's and Seaside? Almost everything. At Seaside, the cheese is overflowing and the ham are thinly sliced but bountifully packed inside. The croissant is doughy and fluffy too. Heidi's does a respectable job, but pales in comparison to the infamous bakery in Newport. ----- Conclusion: In a time crunch and if in the area, I wouldn't mind eating it again and trying the donuts. Located in the Ice Palace plaza and next to Posse Bar, this spot closes daily at 8pm, except on Sundays when they close at 6pm.
