Honestly, I think I'm in there more than anywhere else in town... okay, maybe second only to the coffee shop -- but still. Priorities. Recently one of the girls who works there asked, "Were you in here recently?" My response: "Yes... but you're going to have to be more specific." At this point I'm basically on a first-name basis with the clearance rack. This place is truly a magical hybrid of boutique, consignment shop, and small-town treasure hunt. They have clothes for kids, teens, and adults -- some new, some consignment -- and the consignment pieces are so pristine you'd swear the previous owner bought them, lovingly removed the tags, whispered affirmations over them, and then never wore them once. And it doesn't stop at clothing. Oh no. There's furniture, small appliances, baby items, exercise gear, bedding, health and beauty goodies (from really good brands, too). You name it, they probably have it. And if they don't today... check back next week, because the inventory changes constantly. One of my favorite things is how active they are on Facebook -- posting new arrivals, sale alerts, and little contests so you can plan your visit like a highly strategic shopping mission. If you live in or anywhere near Alden and you haven't been here yet, I don't know what you're doing with your life -- but I gently and lovingly suggest you redirect yourself to Under One Roof immediately. They further went on to state, they had nothing "tagged" for me since last December.... you literally cannot randomly drop off items, you need an appointment which I had January 26, 2026! The owner had her manager call me, who I had spoke to about these coats twice. Since they take your items and you get no ticket, ...they win! Bad business practice. The owner wasn't very welcoming in the beginning but upon a referral, I figured I'd give her the…read morebenefit of the doubt and consign two items of mine with her. After initially dropping off my two items, one authentic handbag and one inspired bag, the owner told me she would be emailing me a confirmation and contract (which she never did) and would call if/when they sold. After 3 months of no contact, I stopped in to see how the status of my items were. Upon arrival, I was told by the owner that she couldn't verify the authenticity of my items and could not find the serial number on the authentic handbag-- because of this, she said she had tried reaching out to me through phone, left voicemails, and sent emails but never head back from me which is a complete lie because I received no phone calls, no voicemails, and no emails (none in spam folder either). Once I looked at the authentic handbag, I was able to find the serial number within 30 seconds and showed her and she verified it in front of me on her authenticating program all while acting completely dumbfounded she didn't originally find it. Not only was I disappointed that she didn't actually notify me but also, both of my bags were on the floor behind her front counter, amongst other items on the floor not even in their dust bags. I gave her one more chance to sell my items and gave her some grace for the miscommunication. Another 3 months, and I stop in to take my items home because clearly they just weren't selling and the dustbag for my inspired bag was missing and when asked about it, the owner immediately became defensive and started raising her voice at me. She tried to make me feel guilty because she paid $25 of her own money to verify my bag and gave me the certificate for it to keep. All I wanted was for her to look around her store for my original dustbag and she continued to give me attitude and said she'd give me a generic dustbag but that i would have to return to her the authenticating certificate that she paid for. It's concerning how poorly she handled such a small request for MY item, expecting something in return despite the fact that part of my item was lost while in her possession. I'd recommend going elsewhere for any items you want to consign because the owner is just a complete bullshitter and rude.
