Came in to get my Dads shirt fixed and the lady had her back to the door on a call. She moved away while she continued talking. Never acknowledged me. After reading the cash only signs it made me question whether it's a legal biz. I'm a small biz owner and expect others to pay local taxes. After waiting 5 minutes I walked out. I thrifted a couple tops that weren't my size with the intention of getting them altered so I brought them here. As stated in other reviews, she hardly acknowledges customers. Her tone is rude and she was on FaceTime when I arrived and made me wait while she finished her call. I told her about the tops, how I thrifted them and wanted them to fit me. We talked about straps being altered etc. and she literally said "that's why you should just buy clothes that fit you". WHATS YOUR JOB THEN BOO?! I was so confused because it was literally just a regular consultation, me telling her how I'd like the top to fit and she basically makes a comment that goes completely against her entire job title. I had 2 tops altered and she told me it would take X amount of days. Weeks went by and I hadn't received a phone call (she took my number down and told me she'd call me). Never did. So I called after a couple weeks (concerned that perhaps I had missed the window. It had been longer than the time she allotted). She said they weren't done. Bruh!! So then she said she could have them done by tomorrow. I show up the next day, NOT DONE!$!??$!$ so then she said to give her 45 minutes. At this point I'm like girl?! Anyways I sat in the parking lot, got my tops. BUT THERES MORE When I got my consultation, she pinned the tops on me. Once the tops were finished she said "it seemed way too small so I made it bigger" (like okay thanks you think I'm skinny?) but also you literally pinned it on me? so because YOU thought it seemed too small you made changes that weren't what I wanted. I'm a XS and the top fit me like a medium. So I was not happy. I don't recommend this lady because her attitude and work ethic seems like doo doo read more

The alterations were great I give that a 5 star. The reason why I'm giving it a 3 star is because of the turnaround time. I was told over and over again that my dresses/suit would be ready on a specific day, I would go in on that day, and it wouldn't be ready. So I would have to rearrange my schedule to come in another day. If you want your items done a specific day then I would not depend on this place especially around prom season. Other than that, the customer service was really good and the tailoring was very good! read more

I would rate this place a 5. I had 2 items a dress with some heavy alterations and pants that needed to be taken in at the waist. I had no recommendations for this place, it was just close to my house. The lady looked at the items after I put them on and told me how she would alter them. It seemed fine to me. I told her I would be back in a week for them and she said that would be fine. Of course tailoring isn't cheap. It was $70 for both items. When I went back to pick them up, I was super happy with the outcome. She even wanted to put in extra elastic in the dress waist line for me because the bottom is heavy with fringe. History: I been to this place twice each time for a suit while the Russian family owned it. I've always had good experiences, probably the best in regards to tailors. Just about a month ago, a friend of theres bought it out and now operate it. A friend and I did tailoring for some untailored suits through him (forgot his name.) Bottom line: With the new owners, they still continue their great service. If you want a patient, English speaking and decently priced tailor who knows what he is doing and is in tune with the current fashions then go here. this is a great place for guys who have no idea about the fit of a suit to go to. All you need to do is put it on, tell him what look you're going for and he'll do the rest while slowly explaining to you what he is doing to make your suit look good. You can easily turn a $150 suit into a $1000 looking suit with $50 here. read more

We've used this seamstress for YEARS. No fuss, no drama just very good alterations at an agreeable price. Let me say that this shop does very good work. Which leads me to our recent experience. My wife and I dropped of 7 pair of pants to be altered. All very expensive designer pants that I have shrunk out of over the years due to serious health issues. One pair of new suit pants was needed quickly so we returned after several days to ONLY pick up that 1 pair. My wife and I both were present when picking them up. No reference was made on the ticket of what was picked up or left behind. She was particularly busy that week with a wedding dress and was ONLY able to prep the suit pants for us - other pairs were in need of more major reconstructive work. I was in no rush and applied no pressure for the rest. We were gone for several weeks on vacation, out of state. After returning we noticed there were no messages that anything was ready for pick up and I thought surely some-thing must be ready to pick up on the balance of slacks. My wife called on a Tuesday evening to see what was ready and we were told that only 4 pairs were still in the shop and that we had already picked up 3 pairs out of the 7. Unfortunately, we had only picked up 1 at this point. The shop owner was clearly upset thinking that we were trying to take advantage of her. Nothing could be farther from the truth. As I mentioned we had been using her for years up to this point. After she hung up the phone on my wife I thought it wise to go in and speak with her personally the next day. I was met with aggression and arguments about how we were trying to take advantage of her and not pay for her services. All I wanted was what I had left - plain and simple - nothing more or less than that. She grounded accusations that we were dishonest and working her over for free work. For those that know me know that is simply not in my/our character. I tried reasoning with her that possibly someone else accidentally received them or that they were accidentally lost and would probably turn up in the shop at some point. The owner wasn't having any of that and continued to lay mean, derogatory accusations against my wife and I. She repeatedly asked us to check our car trunk - which is a truck. I went as far as to go back home to re-check our closets to make sure we hadn't made a mistake. The pants were not there - as we already knew. In one sentence she stated that my wife picked up the slacks and in the next sentence says I picked up the slacks and that we had been in 3 different times to collect them. To this point we had only been in to the shop one time when we dropped off the pants and a second time today to try and clear up the situation. All I know is that mistakes get made, both by consumers and businesses. l feel it important to post this so others can avoid or at least be aware of the potential run-ins that can happen. They will be unpleasant, you will be made to feel like a criminal and be accused of everything from cheating to theft in the process. In fairness the slacks that were lost cost me not a great deal when purchased as they were on sale. To replace them now would cost me over $600.00 that for some reason the shop owner disputes. Prices are readily available online. Because the pants did not cost me a great deal I thought it fair to compensate the shop owner for the work she had completed. The cost of the work completed less the cost of the lost slacks. She refused the money but I left it on the counter none-the-less. People should be paid for work completed but also have to bear the cost of mishaps. As I write this review, only returning home for a little bit from the shop, I received a call from the shop owner just now, continuing to berate me and complaining again that I was just looking for a discounted price on the work. I think in her heart she knows what really happened and is either afraid or ashamed of this and won't come clean. Either way it is a poor business practice to employ. I absolutely LOVE this place! I went here when I went to UCR but since graduating haven't found a place that even compares. The russian lady that works there is SO nice. She always makes me feel very welcomed and doesn't mind how picky I am when it comes to tailoring of my clothes. I always go there for original hems and trust them with my designer jeans. They even patched up a hole in one of my jeans and it blended right in and they even reinforced the back with a patch. I miss being able to trust my tailor...I'm almost tempted to make the 1 1/2 hour drive to get all my stuff tailors by best fit alterations!! read more

Came in with part of my Halloween costume I needed to get my pair of jeans completely altered. I asked the lady if she could take in 7 inches and sizes. She did just that! I came in to pick up my jeans and they were taken in just how I needed them to be taken in. She did an amazing job tailoring in my Halloween costume! I am absolutely pleased at such a job well done! On the phone constantly; wouldn't even get off after I tried on a skirt to be shortened. I left and found someone else who had my alteration ready for me the next day. Needed a weighted workout vest fixed. The velcro was not in good shape anymore and the vest was slipping while in use. Took it in and was able to pick it up within 2 days! Could have been next day but I couldn't make it in. Only cost $20 to reinforce the velcro. I do have more garments to take in that need some adjustments. So I definitely will be returning! read more

Over Priced and Not on time I had taken many items to this seamstress in the past, because it is close to my house. Recently I took a shirt that I needed for work that needed to be made smaller. It was not ready the day & time that she had promised it. When I arrived she hurriedly said that she would do it and call me when it was finished. I never received a call, and when I went back the store was closed. I did not have my shirt for the one time event at work, and she did not offer any apology or reduction in price only argued that she had somehow done more than originally agreed upon. I drive about 20 miles each way to get my clothes tailored here. They do excellent work at a fair price. I just picked up a shirt and sport coat that had quite a bit of work done. Had the shirt taken in on both sides and sleeves shortened. The coat was taken in around the sides. All original seams. Very satisfied. I have had at least a dozen pairs of high end jeans ($150+) hemmed here with the original hem. Again, excellent work every time. Well worth the drive for piece of mind. read more

They are nice but WAY OVER CHARGE and do a disappointing job....when confronted about over charging and doing a bad job the denied it....took it to another Alterations place charged me half the price and did the job faster and better....just sad because they are nice...would NEVER recommend! At first, I really liked this place. My mom and I have both had multiple pairs of pants hemmed or altered here, and it was always a decent experience. Prices are higher than I'd like to pay, but reasonable compared to other tailors. Unfortunately, when I quite naturally took my wedding dress to them to be altered, they pulled a complete bait and switch. We took it in to get a price estimate, and the older woman told us dress alterations are approximately $50. Two weeks later, when we actually brought it in to be fitted, the younger woman said dress alterations are never that cheap and that we were lying or misrepresenting what had been said. She said it would cost nearly three times that initial estimate. I can understand if the employee had quoted the wrong cost estimate, but at that point, she ought to have either given us the lower cost or at least met us halfway. Instead, we were treated very rudely. I'd rather support anyone else now, than continue going to them. Take your jeans or dress pants to them, but don't take anything expensive or important to you, because they'll jack up the price. read more

i really liked this place, i needed a button on a dress and to get a too sheer dress lined so that it was wearable (ie not slutty and a constant nip show). they did a very good job on craftsmanship of the lining and prices were fair, so why not five stars? well, i told the man at the shop that i didn't want the lining if it was more than 20 dollars, to which he responded that he'd call me about the price. not only did he not call me, but when i came in to pick up the dress, he said that the tailor was confused on exactly what i wanted and told me to come back in three days to pick up my garment and called the tailor while i was there for a price. all in all a decent tailor, but everything is better with communication. come on, let's talk it out. read more
