    Strictly take out
    Dave D.

Confucius say "If you say your name is Best Food in Town you should have the best food in town." This classic Chinese take out ... please note TAKE OUT ... located in a Galloway strip plaza on Route 9 set themselves up for eh reviews just by choosing the name of their stir fry on the run mom and pop hole in the wall. To honestly claim the name BEST FOOD IN TOWN a restaurant large or small would have to be the best serving fresh produce, preparing all items in the kitchen, and using creatively concocted unique recipes that shine. This little place does none of those things and is a far cry from THE BEST FOOD IN TOWN. Better name .... LEEDS POINT CHINESE TAKE OUT FOOD IS AS GOOD AS OTHERS. So, I am picky ... or perhaps reflective ... I just believe that businesses should not use words to disguise their average products. And, speaking of average Chinese TAKE OUT joints .... riddle me this Batman, "Why in the world do all too many Chinese TAKE OUT locations believe that displaying faded photos of elaborate Chinese meals plated beautifully but looking nothing like the food in their styrofoam serving boxes fool us into thinking their food is fine cuisine?" Actually, I really question the ownership's attention to other quality details if they allow these old photos to continue to age without grace above the ordering counters. Please ... get out your I-Phone & take some pics of your chef with food in wok and print some truthful 8x10 glossies. BEST FOOD IN TOWN's pics were all bluish green in hue showing images of food no one would think of ordering unless you enjoy embedded fuzzy stuff in your chow mein. These guys have truly improved their food since they first opened. Nothing great but it seems with the disappearance of their nearest competitor they knew they had to make people in a hurry for some decent Chinese happy and that they do! Most of my old neighbors do not hesitate to make the call to BEST FOOD when their fingers start itching for a chop stick driven meal. Their soups have a nice touch of flavors none of which aggressively steal your taste buds and their menu of all the items found on 90% of American Chinese Take Out's is prepared with no surprises on the taste meter on either the incredible or awful levels ... it is right there in the middle not the "best food" in town but decent enough to satisfy your need for Chinese if you are close by. You will find the owners eating in the small dining area and also their children. It's a great family area for their family but truly this should be considered TAKE OUT only! There is a lot of clutter and the tables have a worn look to them. My fortune of the day .... "Don't forget, you are always on our minds" is a bit troublesome because I really do not want to always be on the minds of the owners and workers of BEST FOOD IN TOWN ... maybe having me on their minds all the time is keeping them from taking down those old photos or creating something incredible with fresh produce, meat and seafood using a unique recipe or two or ten that could earn them Best Chinese Food in town because this town has too many excellent restaurants for them ever to truthfully be able to say "best food in town." BTW ... do we really still need fortune cookies? I need to read some Confucius to see what he had to say about that.

This location is a solid choice in the Galloway/Smithville area. Food is ready quickly and service is great. They are very appreciative of your business. We order once per month or so and for this review we had the Roast Pork Egg Foo Young, Egg Rolls and Egg Drop Soup. Egg Foo Young is delicious! Nice crust on the outside and inside is hot and fresh. Egg Drop soup is very good as well. Nice texture and wonderful flavor. Egg Rolls are standard for the industry. Tasty, but nothing special. Egg Foo Young Comes with a nice sauce and white rice. Great value and food is nice quality.

The gentleman behind the counter listened to my request of cooking my dish with no oil and the food was pretty good....best in town? Funny.....

Definitely the best food in town and delivered quick and Hot to the hotel we stayed in a mile away from the restaurant.

And their congee is what my taste buds have followed from many many many moons ago where I started enjoying it in the US after having it in HK. Where you ask? Full dim sum weekends at the Crown Palace locations in Middletown and Marlboro. Then I found it at Ocean at their Asian restaurant. I discovered the Leung brothers in Ventnor and have religiously followed them and their exquisite palate ever since. While I'm sad to know that Andrew has left the area, his brother Michael is keeping it real. Fighting the good fiscal fight but do do do do come and try all the options. Their food; their hospitality and their human and generous goodness is a blessing to this South Jersey community. The location near Smithville has easy, free parking. The place is air conditioned and its decor is industrial and rustic. Ok I'm no stylist. So sue me if it's not the correct fashion term or architectural comment. You are coming for the food, right?!!! Ordered turnip cake which tasted authentic, however the Shumai was undercooked. Wonton soup was good though, nice touch with the crispy onions. Ambience could be better.
