Can't say enough about how good this experience is. I locked my keys in my car and the spare keys where at my parents house in the neighboring state. Daniel got to me really quickly (about 20 minutes) and was done in 5 minutes more. The prices were better than everyone else too. I could keep writing, but all you need to know is that they are friends, affordable, POLITE, and fast. I used this company because it had such good reviews, but they were awful. Yes, they responded very quickly. The window I booked was from 4-6, and at 5:50 no one has called or shown up, so I called and they were "sending someone out immediately"....well they showed up at a little past 6:45, not even a little apologetic. Then - I had been quoted $50 for the trip fee then $25 for the re-key over the phone.....well then after the service was complete they charged me the full trip fee (even though they were so so late), $28 for the re-key per door (and double for the back door since it was double cylinder)...overall - they wasted my time and I had to pay way more than what I was expecting. Not professional at all - came in an unmarked van and barely spoke. Would NEVER use them again. read more

This is my first review, so it really shows how much I appreciate this service. Rafael clearly deserves 5 stars after our ordeal last night. We returned home at midnight to find our lock had broken. We had no other way into the home, so we called A-1 since it was the easiest number to find. Someone showed up after talking to three different locksmiths and waiting 2 hours. The locksmith knew we were desperate at 2am and quoted us over $200 to drill the lock and replace it. That didn't fly. We decided to crash at my parent's house instead and wait to handle it the next day. Today, Rafael showed up within 15 minutes of my call. He was 5 minutes early...bonus points. He drilled the lock, replaced it, and fit our previous key to help us avoid the annoyance of getting new copies. This cost less than $120, plus he gave us the yelp discount on top of that low price. We ended up saving over $100 because we were patient and followed the advice of prior reviews. Rafael was very personable and enjoyable company. You're a fool to call another locksmith if you live in the Dallas area. I'd give more stars if I could. read more

Total rip. Broke the lock. Did not take off the broken lock, charged $245.00. Could not make the replacement key. This was a complete disaster. Okay, buckle in. This will be long for a yelp review. First, Best made an appointment with very little advanced notice which was great. The installer called ahead and showed up when promised. I just bought a new house and needed several locks changed. When the technician arrived, he asked several questions as I expected. When I told him I wanted to install a deadbolt on the garage/house door, he proceeded to present the Mul-T-Lock. I was not opposed to this and I understand the idea of upselling as I worked in retail for a couple of decades. Unfortunately, after spending several minutes explaining the benefits of the lock, he told me that he would have to order the lock in the color I needed to match the other locks in the house. He asked if could change the colors, but the front door has a decorative doorknob and isn't painted underneath. I simply wasn't ready for that change yet. Next he said that because the back door has a window, he would need to order that lock as well. In other words, half of the visit was showing product he couldn't install at the moment. I needed to get the locks changed before bringing in any belongings. Next, the technician installed all of the locks/cylinders, knobs and deadbolt. While showing me that there were six keys and that they worked in all the locks, he realized that the garage deadbolt was very difficult to operate. This is a problem because I have a motorized lock I'll be installing and the lock needs to operate smoothly. He got his tools back out and fixed the problem. The keys operate a little roughly, but that's typical of new locks. Finally, he left the old knobs, cylinders, screws, sawdust etc., wherever they fell. Zero cleanup. This surprised me because there are a very large amount of 5 star reviews. Just expected more. The prices were explained well, but seemed a little high especially considering that no cleanup was done. I am interested in the Mul-T-Locks, but I might consider another locksmith. read more

I had called on a Friday because I need for them to reprogram my existent key. They told me that the cost would be $120-$150 to program and for the visit. The next day, one of the locksmith came out to help me. Once he got here I handed him the key that needed programming (he didn't need to cut a new key for me). So he did his thing and programed my key and charged me $180. I was pretty upset and gave him a call, after delegating for a couple of minutes he said, "he wanted to make me happy". He gave me a refund which I really approached it. I can't lie he did his work fast and knows what he is doing. I will be asking for his traveling distance next time in order to get a more accurate amount for the service call. read more
