Raphael was very polite, confirmed via text message when the appointment would be, and called ahead of time to let me know when he was on his way today. I had 3 locks that needed changing, and he gave me what prices would be for various options and left the decision completely up to me. There was no pressure to use a more expensive option. When I say amazing Customer service with a servants heart. That is the only way to capture Best Locksmith. I originally was going to go with A-1 Locksmith located in Plano. Right off the back when I called A-1 the lady customer service agent gave off such nasty energy. The energy was so nasty that even though the price was reasonable I just could not give my business to. I have had the opportunity to work for some very top of the line companies and I know what great customer service is about. I have seen business after business fail due to very similar service that a-1 was trying to push off. I am very firm in knowing that energy is contagious. I am so grateful for Ben. We had a disaster situation after another locksmith company in town messed up 3 of our doors' hardware in the process of a simple rekeying. ***Consumer BEWARE*** Wow, you guys got me good on this one! Last night while attending a holiday event with my family in Richardson I lost the keys to my truck. I called this company today because I thought it was the same one I used twice over a year ago, looks like scammers bought the name out. Rafael was the owner when I used them and at the time he was a 1-2 man operation. When asking for Rafael, I received the typical "He's no longer with the company." I called this afternoon to have them pop the lock AND MAKE A REPLACEMENT KEY! I have my friend drop me off at my truck in the cold to meet the guy, he pops the lock and charges me 95$! AFTER TAKING MY CARD PAYMENT, he tells me he can't make keys, so the office is going to call me to send the guy who makes keys. He leaves and minutes later I get a call saying the key guy is busy on other jobs and won't be available until tomorrow! There I am stranded in the cold with an unlocked truck, but no key to drive it, and out 95$ for the unlock. I am guessing I was supposed lock my truck again and schedule another appointment tomorrow for another unlocking fee of 95$ plus a charge for them to make a key. The guy on the phone refused to refund my money as his service was of no help, then hung up on me. I have a feeling they prey on people like this quite often. I proceeded to call Lock-Doc and they came out to make a key for a fair price. I asked the tech what they charge to pop a lock and he said 65$. The recent reviews appear to be fake, as they are short, bland, and most of the people have only reviewed this company. Good job guys, I hope you all can sleep at night knowing you pulled a quick one on a combat veteran that served to protect your freedom to scam people in this very way. But that happened within 2-3 minutes of getting off the phone with the guy from A Star. He was very professional and honestly... a bit comforting. I was feeling a bit out of sorts since I found myself locked out of my own house... like an idiot. He asked me a few questions and told me he would be on his way immediately. Since no money exchanged hands... I feel that explaining my story here on yelp is the least I could do to show my appreciation. You never hope to need the services of a locksmith. Updated June 8th- My husband received a call from Ben, the owner, and he rectified our issue by refunding us $115. I must say, it takes a company with great integrity to be willing to admit fault and make things right. Ive changed my review from 1 to 5 despite bad experience. My only suggestion would be for Best Locksmith to be very clear on what they can and cannot charge customers. I am sure it was not the first and probably will not be the last time Joe takes advantage of people. ______ I very seldomly write posts, but when I do, it is because I have been motivated by sheer awe of the business owner. I have never written a bad Yelp review but am an avid Yelp reviewer. I am livid, for those who do not like reading long reviews, to sum it up, our dispatcher (forgot his name) quoted a price (which was already way too high), then included charges he did not tell us. Ended up paying $445 for something that would've cost half of that at most. We read Jam's review and disregarded her as an extremely rare circumstance. Well, I really wished we took her seriously. We purchased a home and needed to get into the house. To break into the house, dispatch quoted $95 (my husband said he was told $85- but that may be his mistake, we will own that one). We were told service charge was $25- I have hired many service techs in the past, and most companies will apply that service charge towards your balance if you utilize them - especially if your bill comes out to $445. Well, we wanted to change out all 3 locks and the dispatcher said each lock would be $80. That was rather high, he pleaded and said these were premium locks - not made in China and were better than the cheap Home Depots. Well, just took a lock and realized that these are probably the Home Depots, 9.95 ones and since he gets it wholesale, he probably pays 6-7 dollars for them. We wanted to change to chrome anyhow so we figured we would just give him some business and do one of them. He stressed to us the important of doing all of them and said he would work with me. I said his price was way too high and we would just keep the gold cheap ones and replace it ourselves. He said "his company" pays $65 for these same locks and I negotiated that if I did all 3, he would give it to me at $75 each, well I bargained him down to $200. He agreed quickly- which I should've known then was a way too high price to begin with. I assumed our bill would be $285 and was fine with that. When he gave us our receipt, it came out to $445. He included the service charge and a surprising labor $75 and rekey charge of $50 (2 x 25). I disputed these since the only point of me going with the $200 price tag was to have the same keys, and he said he has to include the $50 rekey fee that he never mentioned and the labor because these are all separate, I was paying $200 only for the material! $200 for the material that I could've paid $30 for. He also told us that the sales charge of $20 was for the material cost. I just realized that at 8.25% should have only been 16.50. $3.50 isn't going to change my life, but I get thoroughly annoyed by being cheated on sheer principle. I understand that some companies justify ridiculous markups by their overhead- but had I known that it would have cost me $75 + $50 + $25 =$150 more, I would have told him to just leave after breaking in and I would do everything myself. All you need is a Phillips screwdriver to replace these and $32.50 to purchase at Home Depot. I don't know how he justifies a $75 half an hour of labor- not even skilled electricians/AC repairmen charge such a high price! Anyhow, in a rush to start the house, we paid for the bill since in the end, it was more my fault than his. I should've asked him very clearly how much exactly was everything going to be instead of assuming that he would be a man of integrity and quote us a price that was all inclusive. I keep this receipt in front of my desk so I am reminded that when dealing with any service providers, always, always always ask them how much everything will include and repeat the price to be sure we understand one another. read more

My cousin was staying at my mom's house and was not familiar with all the locks and got locked out after being away from a business trip. I looked up locksmiths on Yelp and found Best Locksmith and reviewed all the ratings and THEY ARE TRUE! It's your best choice if you are locked out of the house!!! Ben came to our house and waited for us to even get there. He took 5 minutes tops to open the door from my garage into the house! I even told my neighbors across the street about them as Ben drove off. I will definitely use them again if I have any trouble with my house OR car. Ben did NOT damage the lock either. A Star Locksmith helped me out (again) last night by coming out late in the evening to open the door to a rental car I had locked myself out of. I am a property manager and we had a tenant that couldn't get into her condo due to a defective deadbolt on her door. Best Locksmith sent out a tech within 30 mins on a Saturday night and took care of our tenant. We got the bill back and the property owner felt like the tech overcharged for his service so I called and expressed my concern to the owner, Ben.
