My daughter wanted her nails done for her birthday, I go pick her up and she tells me she paid $80.00 for the nails. I have been getting my nails done since I was 14 and never had to deal with this. I have been trying out new nail salons because my regular place closed down. I came to this nail salon for a fill in . Keep in mind i have 4 broken nails . When i get that many broken nails i usually ask for a fill in and i get charged a fill in. Here i got charged $20 fill in and $3 for each nail . I paid $32 for a "fill in" when the full set it already $25. Was over charged for a fill in that i even paid more than a full set . The nail techs here are old style . They are not modern at all . I left there with super thick nails that i did not like and i was over charged for a fill in . I had never paid so much for a fill in before . I will never go there again . read more

I have gone to Best Nails before and haven't been in a few years. I went today with my friend and I decided on getting gel overlay on my nails (no tips). She did an amazing job! They suggested I get color changing polish , and my tech took the time to show me the color changing polishes. She took her time and my nails turned out very pretty! I love them. read more

I get my nails done here, Karren (one of the owners) she is AWESOME and I would recommend her to everybody. Sometimes, there is a wait for her, but if you go early or on a Sunday it is not that bad. However, if you do decide to wait for her, it so worth it. In addition, her husband Kenny is fabulous as well. Sometimes, they have movies playing to watch while you are being served. read more

UPDATE: The polish didn't last two days. :/ Two toes are already destroyed--and I haven't even gone running or anything. Yeesh. The five stars were bc they got me in a rush and managed to paint in the lines, even using a base coat. But I'm hacking off two since it didn't last, the salon was kind of...well... not very nice, I wasn't acknowledged right away when I came in, and (I didn't mention this before), they didn't put a towel under my feet or let me keep my shoes on (and I'm not always assertive enough to speak up) while my feet were on the foot stool (skeeved me out). This place was filthy, disgusting, and unprofessional. The pedicure was very quick and the whole time I thought I was going to get an infection from how unsanitary everything was. She did a horrible job on my toe polish and didn't put the toe separator on my feet to protect the polish. Everything was dirty, including their instruments, and the place was run down. The customer service here is the best I've ever received at a nail salon. I've been to beautiful nails on grand Ave and Cali nails across from it (by jewel) and the techs are not personable nor are they concerned about what exactly it is you want. As soon as I walked in the manager greeted us with a smile, was very nice and made sure we were well taken care of. He even gave my friend a special price for her daughters mani pedi. This place is definitely my go to nail salon. Everything about it is great starting with the service. As soon as you walk In you are greeted by one of the employees and the wait is never to long. The employees have always satisfy what I am looking in a nail salon. Have always had great experiences and had only ever have one encounter with a problem. One of the best experience I've ever had here was when I broke an acrylic nail. I had broken my nail here at home and rushed over there to see what they could do. My nail was completely spilt in half they managed to get all the nail polish off, then take off the acrylic, and finally stop the bleeding by putting alcohol on it. This was all done by a lady named Lee she was amazing. The nail I actually broke was done from another salon that I didn't have the great experience at. The only bad encounter I had going here was one day in the summer (summer 2016) when the police had showed up and walked in. Nothing was going on inside the place. I had been waiting for my acrylics to be done and the police walked in asking everyone if anyone had called them. Someone in the salon had called the police supposedly and it just made me feel very uncomfortable. The weirdest part was no one had claimed they called the police. The two cops even said the name of the person, but nobody came forward. It was very uncomfortable, but that was a very weird and rare situation. read more

They do a horrible rush job, they ignore you and do not listen let alone understand English. How they remain in business is way beyond me. I have never written a Yelp review and after my visit to this establishment I felt the need to actually sign up and spare others this trip wasted. I broke away from work on my lunch break and decided to treat myself to a pedicure. I googled closest salon and wound up here. I was taken care of immediately where I was placed in a chair ( no massage unit attached, I did see a devise that was on the other 2 chairs there, I was not offered one ). The oldest gentleman in the place started my pedicure with cold water, put on latex gloves and sat me down. I never 1 time saw a piece of equipment brought into his hand. No cuticle pusher, no clippers, nothing. He simply used his thumb nail to push my cuticle down. There was no foot massage, there was no leg pound. What there was, was 5 employees hanging in the back of the store talking so loud to one another in a foreign language I couldn't even think straight. The best part was when I am assuming he is the owner, lit up a cigarette right outside the back door they had propped open. I could smell the smoke fill the entire establishment. Watched him as he came back to the front of the store, never washed his hands. The began to face time with another person and was showing that person his store and filmed me without my knowledge. Look, I hate nasty people badgering small shops, I am a total local spender. I love small businesses. However not this kind. Save your money and skip down to the next plaza in Waukegan, I am sure you will get a better opportunity there. read more
