I ordered French Fries, Burrata Caprese Salad, Pepperoni Pesto Ricotta Pizza, Burrata Sausage and Hot Honey Pizza ( Detroit Style) and Pesto Burrata Chicken Sandwich ( substituted sun dried tomatoes for regular tomato slices). Everyone enjoyed all the food. The favorite hands down was the Detroit Style Hot Honey Pizza. It was very rich and I had a small piece which was very filling. The crust was crispy and the flavor was layered perfectly with the hot honey. 10/10! I must also say that the French Fries being fried in beef tallow really enhanced their flavor. Perfect. We walked into Best Pizza and Brews in Cardiff and immediately liked the lively and friendly vibe. We found seats at the bar (albeit terribly uncomfortable seats). Carly was our bartender/server for the day and she was fantastic. The tap list is pretty good, but they do not offer a hard seltzer. Kombucha and cider, yes, but they're not the same, so Becky had to settle for a beer which is never ideal. We were just there for a couple of drinks but I did check out the menu, and the Burrata Sausage Hot Honey pizza caught my eye, (mozzarella, homemade marinara, burrata, sausage, hot honey). I could not get that out of my head. We were camping across the 101 at San Elijo State Beach so I told Becky that we had to return. I needed that slice! The following day we returned for a light lunch. We ordered at the counter and took our number to our table on the patio. About five minutes later our food was delivered. That slice was everything I thought it would be and more! The thin crust was crispy and light. The sausage was exceptional. The hot honey was actually hot! Too many times hot honey is just honey. I love local places that take care of their employees in any Possible Way, Best Pizza has a jar on the counter that used to say Cabo trip and now it says gas money because that's what these people need and for the most part, no one puts anything in it. The pizza of course, and all the food and the beers the wine are all local legends but it's the employees who are so energetic and so right on top of it that need to be tipped when I just ordered a couple of pizzas a few minutes ago I just watched and five or six people came in ordered pizza to go and walked out. One of my favorite spots for pizza! We ordered online ahead of time and waited about 30 minutes before picking it up. I didn't realize they had an app until after I paid, but they offer a little discount for signing up. The restaurant was busy but the counter line was quick. The order was ready and included all the utensils, crushed red pepper, and parmesan. The food was still hot when we got home and tasted great. The burrata, sausage and hot honey pizza is my favorite! He still remembers my name like Cheers on TV, call my name when I arrive. It's not just Joe, the staff remembers my name too. Over several years, the staff keeps up with what I do and where I am in life. I've noticed it's not just me, they extend the relationship to all repeat customers and recognized locals as if it's a special badge of honor. If you want the neighborhood experience, even if you're not from the neighborhood, they will treat you as such. Did I mention their food is great? Meatball Sandwich is my usual order. Wings for sure when I need the Buffalo Sauce fix (bone in), and Detroit with hot honey is a must. If you're from Detroit, at least verify it's worthy of Detroit style slice by giving it a try. NY style is their usual, by-the-slice and is always a safe bet. Order the whole pie if you're a family. Can't go wrong. Love this spot but we left dinner feeling a little disappointed tonight. It's not the end of the world obviously so I don't want to give a bad rating but I do think someone should know. I'm confused as to why slices are both $4.75 for a cheese and meat lover when the meat lover is priced higher than a cheese pizza for the full pizza. Shouldn't the cheese slice be a little less than the meat lover slice in that case? Again not a huge deal but we were more disappointed that the cheese slice that we got was the smallest slice I've ever seen, definitely not worth nearly $5 for that. While camping at San Elijo, we decided to celebrate a birthday and order five pizzas. Instead of using the app, we walked over to Best Pizza & Brew, to place an order for later. The ordering process was fine friendly service at the register. The pricing felt a bit high however Cardiff is an expensive area and $30 for a pizza seems to be the going rate. In the restaurant there were plenty of smiling employees whirling about doing work. The playlist was a combination of modern pop and classic rock. The TV was playing the Laker game and and Luka Dončić was beginning his career with the Lakers. (Side note: This will begin a new era for the Lakers.) We came back later to pick up our food, five pizzas and garlic knots. The pizzas came out on time, piping hot and ready for transport. We walked them over to our campsite. The pizzas are thin crust and quite tasty. I concur with their high rating on yelp I would not have done anything differently. We fed about a dozen people and they were happy. I'm a picky pizza person and I found this pizza to be quite good. An interesting sidenote, is that, the leftovers were everybit as good if not better than the day we ordered them. To me this seems to speak to the freshness of the ingredients. I find that fresh ingredients often get better with time as they release their flavors and gooo up a bit. There is a competing pizza shop nearby, of which my nephew speaks highly. I will be having a pizza contest within my own family on my next run to San Elijo. I'll keep you updated. read more

Let's just say we found out that Detroit pizza is a thick crust and rectangular and small for the cost of 18 dollars per pizza Don't get me wrong, it was delicious, but the cost of two of these cost 45 dollars. The pizza was crutchy and cheese burn edged making it crispy and soft inside. These are definitely more like a personal pizza ora small group of 3 people and not for a group especially a potluck at a workplace. The people were friendly and there was a lot of seating inside and outside. They have some pretty good deals on slices and their happy hour looked legit. The pizza itself was good but unfortunately the service really took away from the experience. My dad and I stopped in on a tonight (Friday night) and sat at the bar for a simple order: water, calamari and five slices of pizza. Right away, our server didn't write anything down and had trouble remembering what we ordered. Then we were told that three of the five slices we wanted were sold out. Instead of asking what we'd like as substitutes, we were simply told they would "surprise us." When we asked what the replacements would be, we were basically told, "Whatever we have," and the server seemed visibly irritated that we wanted to know what we were ordering. It also was odd that we weren't asked if we had any allergies / dietary restrictions before deciding our food for us, and we didn't even know if we'd like what they'd pick for us. The pizza we ended up receiving was fine, but the attitude throughout the interaction made us feel like we were inconveniencing the staff despite ordering a simple meal and kept to ourselves. The checkout experience was just as frustrating. When we said we were ready to pay, we were told, "You're good," without being given a receipt. We had to ask multiple times before finally receiving one, and it wasn't itemized, so we couldn't even verify the charges before adding a tip. Everyone can have an off night, and I understand restaurants get busy, but basic communication and customer service go a long way. Not sure if we'll be back. read more

The pizza was unreal, perfectly cooked crust, generous toppings, and clearly made with care. We tried a couple different pies and every single one hit. Solid beer selection too, which always helps. Best Pizza & Brew in Cardiff lives up to its name! The Best White Pizza is my favorite. Perfectly thin, foldable NY-style crust with a light, airy chew. My son loves the meatball sub, which they customize plain just how he likes it. The Best House Salad is always fresh and delicious (great with added chicken), and the Greek salad is solid too. We tried the BBQ chicken pizza last night - it was decent, but I've had better elsewhere; the sauce lacked a bit of flavor.
