The first time I visited, they were a solid 4 1/2 stars. A little hard to spot and find -- I must have circled at least three times before seeing the tiny sign on the fence. But they had exactly what I needed, the prices were fair, and the service was quick, The second time back, I drove an hour in thick traffic to get there to be told that the Orchard hay she told me on the phone they had, they did not in fact have. In fact what she did was say that she had only one bag (I had wanted two) and when I pulled out my cash and said I'll take the one, she only then said it's Timothy hay. I pointed out that I had asked for Orchard and she simply said again that this was Timothy. Why did she have me drive an hour in traffic to get there - not to mention I was now going to have to drive another hour home plus find somewhere else to get the still-needed hay. And why go in the back to get the one bag if she knew it wasn't Orchard? From four stars to one in no time flat. Don't waste a customer's time and don't try to trick them into buying something else. read more

Super impressed with the delivery service from Best Valley, switched over from my regular feed store East valley Feed, as I found their attitude a bit obnoxious and inflexible (another yelp review) Chris Anne is amazing to deal with, you can text her and she is on it ! Raphael who is the boss delivered the hay literally right on 9.30am when planned, I was actually late. He was so understanding and whipped those bales into a stack real quick. Bought horse pellets and hay. Paid $15 delivery fee. My tractor broke and is in front of the barn. There is still room for them to back the pick up close to the door. They refused. Said it was too much trouble offered use of my trolley to move hay and pellets they refused and off loaded pellets and hay in drive way. They were extremely rude and unhelpful. Luckily I had friends to help this 80 year old woman get the pellets and feed in the barn . Bottom line I will drive to Ventura rather than order from them again. I used them as an emergency. I will stick with Blue Ribbon from now on they are always accommodating. They only charge $10 delivery fee and always put it in the barn. read more

Dios Mio, what happened to this place. I liked going there because it was family owned and very reasonably priced, however ever since they moved from Van Nuys Blvd. to San Fernando Road, not good. Unless momma or papa are running the counter, that person does not know what they are doing, and the guy working the yard is completely clueless. so impressed with the quality of hay that I get every single shipment. My mom and I both work full-time so they make it super easy for us to get delivered and they stack it perfectly for us and it makes it one less thing we have to worry about when we get home. even if I completely forget to place my shipment they will make sure and do everything possible to have it there as soon as I need it. I can not express how HAPPY I am with this feed company. The staff/customer service is Awesome!!! Super nice and kind people, Feed is always delivered on time, and the quality/cut of feed is the BEST!! I have had horses since I was a kid and have used many feed stores and have boarded my horses at barns and I have never had the top quality feed like that of BEST VALLEY FEED. Their alfalfa hardly has any sicks, full of leaf and flowers, their orchard is a true orchard not a blend, the 4 way is super nice as well. No dust and no foreign objects in the bales. This place is terrible. They insulted my sister said her credit card didn't go through when it clearly did she called her bank in from of this snot nose kid and she still said no it didn't go through. My sister urged her to call the credit card company herself and she refused. They charged my sisters credit card didn't give her the feed she was trying to purchase. To top it all off the charge was only 12 bucks. Our family goes there once every two weeks talk about shitty customer service. That dumb stubborn girl who was the owners daughter just lost a profitable regular customer for only 12 bucks. Not to mention they stole my sisters 12 bucks they never reimbursed her. read more

The workers are very nice and helpful ! I buy hay there for my rabbits and their hay is fresh and is given at great price ! When buying hay from a pet chain store, the hay is usually very dry and filled with coloring. Here you are getting the opposite and everything you need for you're pet, for a much better price and quantity. read more

I love this place. I shopped there several weeks ago, looking for an affordable feed store for my chickens. They carry Nutrena, which is my preferred brand of chicken feed (layer pellets). Also, they have a great selection of other "farm" items and are very helpful and knowledgeable. The coolest thing is this - I live in Burbank and they're in Pacoima, so it's hard for me to get out there - but they deliver!!! I just placed my order over the phone for a bag of feed AND a bale of straw (short, not long, for coop bedding - their suggestion!). For only 5 bucks, I don't have to drive out there and stuff it all into my car! They'll be here this afternoon. Love this place! read more

Went today to pick up some layer pellets for my hens. I usually get Modesto Milling Organic but having to drive to Pasadena to pick it up I figured I should try and find something a little closer. Good things about this place.....Very nice staff, close location, nice prices and opens early so I don't have to wait around and went straight there from dropping off my kid at school. Only reason I am only giving 4 stars is because they didn't have my brand or at least organic on hand but he did tell me he can order it for me if I just call ahead. Did you know you could rent straw bales for parties? Me neither until a friend suggested I check into it. Sure enough, Best Valley will rent straw bales to people. Paid full price for the straw, then when they returned to pick up I got back a portion of my $. You can choose to pickup/return on your own, or have them drop-off/pickup for a nominal fee. I chose the latter since I was already crazy busy in prep time. The guy they had deliver was professional, on-time, calling me every step of the way. When he beat me to my party site in the park, he was kind enough to wait for me to get there without any trouble at all. Placed the bales where I wanted, and moved them when I changed my mind. Then, since he knew we were running behind, waited an extra half hour to pick up like I asked, even though that meant he was picking up in the dark. I really can't say enough good things about him. Such a pleasant person to work with! Overall the entire thing went without a hitch (ha!) and I would call them again in a heartbeat and recommend them to all my horsey friends. read more

This place does local egg hatching for chicks/duckling etc and i decides to give it a 3rd try because first time they gave my chicks to someone else and tried giving me someone else's chicks to try and replace the mistake they made....2nd time they called me 2 days late after my chicks were already born in the incubator so all i picked up was a netting bag full of dead chicks that they still leave in there for everyone else's eggs to incubate..and for the 3rd time i got chicks back but with a sickness called mareks had to kill them all! Gave this place 3 chances and every time was a disaster. Honestly they can give a shit about your eggs,the sanitation, temperature and humidity cause they got their money already! You guys should just stop Incubating and torturing this poor chicks just stop everything you're doing. And btw every time i tried calling this place some dumb chick answered and said she had to call the place to find out if they're hatched like if she wasnt even at the store and on google it showed that it was the store number! Honestly so disappointed specially because i tried to give a few chances! Go to Foothill feed better they have great customer service there read more

I been going there for a while, just recently I went to go buy chicken food from the display they had, I bought 2 different types, I paid inside and gave the receipt to the guys who load the trucks, they put 2 bags, I didn't think about checking the the bags because I done this plenty of times here before, I get home open bag to feed my chickens and they gave me the wrong food, I told them and all they said was I should have opened the bag and checked, and there's nothing they can do about it. terrible customer service, I'm going elsewhere from now on.
