This is a very unassuming place, but they have both saltwater and freshwater fish at reasonable prices. The variety here is great too.

I am highly disappointed with our experience here and will not be returning…read more My 9-year-old daughter was originally so excited to visit this shop with her dad to buy her very first guppies. Unfortunately, they died within 24 hours, leaving her heartbroken. Since we live in the High Desert, we aren't local, but we decided to stop by again when we were back in the area. We spoke directly with Miguel and explained what happened. He assured my husband and me that if we took pictures of any future losses and kept our receipt, we could call him within 3 days and he "would work something out" with us. Based on that assurance, we bought 20 more fish. Sadly, the majority of them have already died. I followed instructions perfectly: I took photos of the dead fish and kept my receipt. However, when I called the shop, Miguel completely changed his terms, stating I now needed to bring the physical dead fish into the store and provide a water sample. I tested my water quality myself, and it is perfectly within range. In fact, I already have an existing tank of guppies that are actively thriving and reproducing--we only bought these new fish to add some color. Furthermore, the fish we purchased from Rainbow brought Ich into our established tank. Despite immediately treating the tank, the infection still killed the new fish and compromised my healthy ones. It is incredibly frustrating to be given a verbal guarantee only to have the store move the goalposts when a problem arises. Terrible customer service and unhealthy livestock. Save your time and money and go elsewhere.

The selection is incredible. Everything is clean, well maintained, and thoughtfully set up. You don't get that overwhelming, chaotic feeling that a lot of aquarium stores have. This place feels organized, calm, and honestly just really beautiful to walk through. What really sets them apart though is the customer service. They take their time with you, answer every question no matter how small, and you can tell they actually know what they're talking about. There is no pressure and no upselling, just genuinely helpful guidance, which is so rare these days. I also really appreciate how much they care about making sure you're set up for success, not just making a sale. They give honest advice and want your tank to thrive long after you leave the store. Whether you're brand new to aquariums or have been doing this for years, this is hands down the place to go. You can feel the passion the second you walk in. I will definitely be coming back again and again. Highly, highly recommend.

Our specialist Hovik was so helpful, friendly, and prompt with cleaning our gravel, changing the water, and suggested some items that improved the quality of the aquarium environment overall. You can tell Hovik truly has a passion for aquarium maintenance and cares for the quality of life of each of the fish he tends to. I'll definitely continue to work with Valley Aquatics for all my aquarium needs going forward as it saved us so much time and stress. 10/10 experience for sure!

He brought his own water, which was a plus because a water supply was not easily accessible to where our tank was. John was super nice and understanding of our situation. Our turtle tank was horrific, but John looked at it and said, "This is nothing! I got this." The before and after speaks for itself. John made sure he took care of tank and canister filter well, ensuring the necessary things were replaced. We had a bunch of requests such as how to install our large turtle basking platform and John said, "No problem, you got it. " with a smile. We are so happy with the results and are looking at regularly getting services. Plus adding more services with John such as decorations and adding fish. John you are the man!

A boutique aquatic shop with charm…read more Pros: - large selection of hardscapes (stones, gravel, rock fragments, wood) - there is a sandbox available to use to help visualize hardscape design - small selection of tanks and tank supplies - beautiful display tanks and demo hardscape arrangements - great selection of healthy looking plants -prices are pretty decent - very friendly owner Pro/con: - you WILL have a conversation with the owner. Cons: - not a lot of price transparency (prices are looked up on the phone for most products). I think only the stones were priced but no scale for weight - their tissue culture plants don't look healthy and most have sat their over the course of a month. - vibe depends on owner's mood (?) as she is primarily the only staff member Personal note: -Visited three times. First visit was an incredible experience. Owner was nice and helpful and bubbly. Second time, significantly less friendly. Third time, the vibe was way off. That third visit, I got scolded for opening a tissue culture plant container. The lid wasn't secured with a label or seal. I couldn't see the plant and since most of the others looked dead, so I wanted to check. My ignorant @$$ opened the container to peek. The owner got pretty upset and said I wasn't supposed to open it. In an annoyed tone, she said "now I have to figure out something to do with it". My fault, for sure, but her reaction made me uncomfortable. After learning the price, I also put back a couple other plants, but felt uneasy as she asked me "what are you doing?!" when i put them back and i said "it's out of my price point" Don't think place is for me, BUT I think it's a GREAT shop for their selection of hardscapes. The owner is amazing but the vibe varies. You most likely won't be leaving empty handed though!

If you know Frenchies, you know they are basically short haired bratty toddlers with attitude. My three are a force to be reckoned with, small but mighty and a tight little pack. When we walked in, I noticed it is a smaller space, but I was not there for merchandise. I wanted groomers who actually understand the Frenchie breed and their personalities. We were greeted by a very sweet girl who explained the basic package and immediately made me feel more comfortable when she mentioned they specialize in Frenchies. The prices were a bit on the higher side, but I never judge solely on price. I wait to see the results. A few hours later, we got the call to pick them up and were greeted by the owner, Jr. He was incredibly nice and let me know one of my kids was not a fan of the crate. I instantly knew he meant my oldest, Ruby. The other two were totally fine, of course. When he brought them out, wow. They looked amazing. And let's talk about the smell. You know that weird wet dog but covered with perfume scent some groomers send your pup home with? Yeah, none of that. These babies smelled so good. Like they might actually be allowed to step out of the Camry and into mama's Lexus! . Naaaah, probably not but still smelled soooo good! Overall, we had a great experience. Truly one of those you get what you pay for moments. We will absolutely be back. Thank you, Pet Era.
