I usually prefer a simple, affordable lodging and don't need much from a hotel but in my opinion this stay was not worth the price. The only highlight was the pancake maker at breakfast. I know lodging costs have risen but the total bill being over $200 for one night felt excessive given the quality. The room felt dirty, and I was immediately put off when I opened the fridge and it wasn't cleaned, it also smelled like tobacco. At point, I just wanted to go to bed so I could leave as soon as possible. The pool is located right in the middle of the parking lot, which i found weird. Next time I'd fork over the extra money and get a hotel closer to the historic district where the walkability and sights are a better. read more

I had gone to two different Best Western hotels in Italy, and assumed that they would be of equal quality in the US, for our short Savannah GA vacation. First, $150 was automatically added to the reservation price for damages. When I brought this up, I was told that it was a damage deposit that would be refunded after our stay was over. This was the first time I have ever had a damage deposit added to a hotel stay, and is a sign of the clientele that must frequent this particular hotel. Our next discovery was that it was a motel, not a hotel, and we had to drag our luggage up to the second floor. My wife noticed that, to get an extra towel, hand towel, or washcloth you had to BUY them for $3.99 or $4.99 apiece. Next, we got to bed late, and around 12:10 am, my wife and I heard the incredibly loud sound of a jet airplane taking off or landing right above our room. A few minutes later another jet came by. I called reception and was told that this would be happening throughout the night. There were no further landings for the rest of our stay, but the first night I laid awake, waiting for yet another loud takeoff or landing. When my wife was looking for other hotels, she saw on the map that the army airfield runway is pointed directly at the hotel. My wife then told me that there was a man in the room below us that was just sitting there staring out into space. This same man hung around his downstairs room, and every time we approached our room, during the day, he was there. Needless to say, we won't be staying at another Best Western motel again. read more

I did not feel safe from the moment I pulled into the parking lot. The denied my request to cancel my reservation (even though I booked at a different Best Western... for the same night in a nearby city). wORSE YET the quoted rate is bogus as the up charged almost $70 on an advertised approx $100/night. I'm usually happy with these but I'll make an exception. It's too bad because the first time here we were very happy. The first thing I went to in the room was a towel and it was dirty. It looked like a big chunk of earwax and yes that's gross. I complained and got a new room. Next morning woke up and went for the coffee pot. Guess what. No carafe. And because of a COVID 19, no breakfast. Must say though everybody wore a mask so kudos for that. So, in the end the rooms are nice but this is one time where you ask if they actually cleaned it. Exuberant & positive welcome set the tone for this best Best Western! I did not catch her name, but she was an exemplary check in person. She verified our choices - king bed on the ground floor - and that's what we got. She also attached our $20 credit from a prior Best Western stay, and asked us to verify that it was applied in the morning checkout. She also credited 500 points to our account for our Best Western Diamond Reward status. The room was clean, spacious, and had everything we needed: microwave, fridge, easy chair & ottoman, plenty of hangars, toiletries & coffee makings. We also had plenty of outlets, including USB ports. It did have a slight cigarette odor, either from outside or from a time when it was a smoking room. Once we turned on the AC, the smell was negligible. We had a quiet, cool, comfortable night's sleep on a firm mattress. The breakfast room was large and accommodating. The television was set to our favorite station - CBS. We had lots of food and drink choices - waffles, white bread, bagels, muffins, 3 cereals, oatmeal, grits, good scrambled eggs, hard as rock biscuits & spicy sausage, apples & oranges, water, teas, coffees, juices & a friendly, efficient hostess. Check out was smooth and easy with an efficient, pleasant gentleman at the front desk. Our credit WAS applied. This was a wonderful place to stay for one night with a very inexpensive rate for lots of good stuff! read more

It's true the location is great. Easy drive to downtown. The front desk staff was welcoming. But our room had bed bugs. I didn't sleep in the sheets because I could see they were not fresh and clean but my husband did and got bit. A swarm of red spots legs. There was blood stain on a pillow. I don't know if they have a shortage of cleaning staff but it's not clean i do t think they change the sheets every day. I saw similar comments on Google reviews. So this was not the best hotel experience. The room was comfortable but the AC was off when we got there so it took a bit to cool the room off. The shower had 1 setting: hot. Actually the shower faucet didn't even have water running out of it till it was full on and full hot. However, the water temp out of it was tolerable. The towels were small too. The bed was fairly comfortable. Our first room was already occupied so that room a bit to straighten out too. I don't recommend this place. read more

This hotel doesn't look like much and it certainly isn't glamorous but it does the job. Stayed here for 1 night in February 2018. We got a deal for $77 including tax on Priceline and it was about 100 cheaper than anything in the historic district. I'm giving it a thumbs up because the room was relatively clean, didn't stink too bad, and the bed was actually pretty comfortable. Each room has its own door to the outside, so it was nice to air out the room before I settled in - but like I said, I didn't feel I NEEDED to, as is the case with a lot of places. Breakfast was ok. I booked this hotel through Booking.com a week in advance. My reservation was for a Non-Smoking Room however when I attempted to check in the kid behind the desk told me my reservation was for a Smoking Room and that's all they had left. After I show him proof of my confirmation for a Non-Smoking room he was non apologetic and said there's nothing he can do and blamed the third party Booking.com. This was at 4 pm and the parking lot was nearly empty. The kid was very unprofessional and rude. Looked like someone who belonged in a gang. Wearing a stocking hat, name tag hanging off his shirt and untucked shirt. At one point he said he cancelled my reservation and told me to get out. Furthermore, initially refused to get the manager until I refused to leave. Then he called the manager of their radio and said to "come throw this guy out". Strongly would not recommend staying at this place ever. read more

Checked in on 12/27 and we were told about a promotional 100 dollar gift card for 3 nights then told we do not qualify because we are not Best Western members. Then when I said I would sign up now I was told it's too late. Also, there was a 38% up charge she said was taxes. When asked about the price drop guarantee she said maybe next time. Rooms were going for 101 a night but we were charged 490 for 3 nights plus a 150 dollar security deposit. The area is super sketchy and dirty. This place is a dump. In our room, the carpet had not been vacuumed at all- it was filthy! White flecks that looked like dead skin was between the two beds. Disgusting. The cable TV only had a few stations working, out of 64. We called the front desk and they were a bit clueless about the cable, but didn't give a crap either. Taking a small getaway to Charleston SC from Jacksonville Florida and thought we would take a break and our driving time in half by staying in Savannah Ga. before pressing on. I see why the pictures on the website were taken at night to give off that glamorous feel. It's a second rate motel at best. All rooms are accessed from the outside. Desk services were very friendly when I arrived. I booked around 9am and checked in a little after 3pm. And surprisingly they were turning people away as they were completely booked. Booked a non smoking King size bed. Has a musty smell when I walked in. Very roomy, I noticed the comforter had a stain on it, not a good start, and when I used the bathroom I noticed hair on and around the toilet. I guess you get what you paid for. The room was around $230 a night about 10 miles from the main historic walking area. All the rooms in the historic area were way overpriced around $450 - $650 a night. That's why we booked outside the city center. The bed was not comfortable, very firm. TV and Wi-Fi worked great. Ample counter space around the sink and plenty of lighting. They do serve breakfast from 6am to 10am. Which we will pass for something else. Sorry no pics read more

For 70 bucks a night, this hotel is as good as its gonna get if you are on a tight budget, but yet do not want to compromise safety. It is 15 minutes away from downtown Savannah/ River Street and 30 minutes away from Tybee Island/ Fort Pulaski/ Beaches. It is around the business district so expect some traffic when you come out during rush hour time. Late in the evening, there are 3 24-hour food joint you can go to: Waffle House, The Diner (across the street) and ... - Denny's - i think - ... Don't rely much on the free breakfast as the only protein in there is boiled eggs. The rest is bagels, croissant, plain grits from a packet, yogurt, cereal, bananas- coffee and juice... nothing too exciting really ... The room itself was quite decent. This is actually one of the rare occasions that a "non-smoking" room actually didnt even have a hint of stale cigarette. The room came with a fridge, microwave, and a blow dryer which are so essential for budget travelers like myself. The bathroom and the room in its entirety is clean. We didnt even get to use their TV, but it was your good ole flat screen- they did offer HBO. Check out was a breeze as all we needed to do was dial 0 from the room phone and tell them we are on our way out. Parking was easy, and they do have an outdoor pool - but then again, I am never into that stuff. All in all, a really good deal. I recommend :) read more

Booked from third party site, clerk couldnt find my reservation but quickly fixed the problem. Staff was friendly. Place looked a little more run down than the photos showed but thats sometimes just how it goes right? Room was very standard. Clean room. Clean bed. Beds were comfy. Pillows ok. Lots of neighbors on a Friday night but I didnt hear too much from them or the busy street out front which was nice. Someone was screaming at the top of their lungs in the early morning but we were already woken up by what I'm assuming is the housekeeping cart (loud lol back and forth). We are early risers but if you're not, this would be very annoyingly loud. Heater worked great, warmed the room quickly. Shower towels were very small. Shower pressure was good. read more

This hotel is the worst. Customer service is a zero. My fiancé and I booked a king room, non smoking and were given a double smoking room!! Th me front desk manager (@approx 10:30pm, 7/12/21...so you can figure it out corporate...) was rude and disrespectful. We were told that we had the room we reserved, yet we have the confirmation email stating that we booked a king non smoking room. Also, the room reeks of cigarette smoke, and the parking lot reeked of marijuana. I've stayed in hotels in third world countries that had better service. One of the cleanest and best maintained BW we've seen. Although when I called to confirm the clerk I reached was curt and impatient, the desk staff were all helpful and friendly during our stay. Compact economy rooms but comfortable with effective maid service and the hot water was fast and plentiful. It's not a beautiful area and it's a 15-20 minute drive to the historic district but the price was right. It's worth staying at --- saving your money for the pricey restaurants and tours. There's a good cheap diner across the street-- better than the motel's bare bones breakfast. There's a great restaurant not too far -- the Sweet Potato Kitchen-- inexpensive and superb. One of the biggest features of Savannah is the HUGE amount of pawn shops everywhere. It's a sign, I guess, of persistent poverty. read more

Of course it's always nice staying in a fancy hotel but that always comes at at price. Best Western Central was the perfect choice for our traveling needs whereas we just needed a place to sleep for the night. Justin, the front desk manager, was under the weather and was training a new employee when about 4 people came to check in all at the same time. You would never have known he wasn't feeling well because.he was so pleasant and cheerful as we checked in and he was patient with the new employee as she tried to manage the reservation system. He was so positive and encouraging with her that I thought to myself, he'd be a great person to work for. The rooms were clean, the location was near lots of food options which is great when you've been on the road all day, and the price was right! They offer a free hot breakfast, which I normally turn my nose up at, but this was actually good. The gravy for the biscuits was probably some of the tastiest I ever had. Would definitely recommend this as an option for travelers up and down the I-95 corridor. read more

If I could have given less than one star I would have. Worst experience with a hotel that I have ever had. The bathtub would not drain and we did not find out until about 10 pm when trying to take a shower. Called the front desk immediately and they said they would send someone to fix it. After waiting an hour for someone to come I called again. The girl at the front desk said she had just gotten there and would check and call back. She called back and said that we had two options. To move to a room on the second floor of which we couldn't do because we had a member of our group that had back surgery and cannot go up stairs or wait until morning for manager to come in. Well that left us with no options. The manager came in at 8 which was too late for us with what we had planned. 1st Impression, Customer Service by the self confessed Manager.... Trash Despite my room being previously paid for in full I was Required to leave an additional $100 cash deposit. He said that shit like It's Normal and Acceptable in the Hotel Industry. Like WTF?? Where do they do Thatt Shit with 100 degree weather?? It had to be at Least 95 degrees in the room. Hotel was good. Staff and maintenance were wearing mask. I guess they missed a spot before our arrival because there was a small dead roach on the floor. The location is the best thing about this hotel. As you move closer to the city, the prices of the hotels go up. This was why we chose this hotel. Great price and not too far from the city, about 3 or 4 miles out. Don't be alarmed to see an airport nearby because we didn't hear a single plane or engine. Great value, friendly staff, good location, fabulous breakfast. We used this motel as home base for vacation to Savannah, Tybee Island and Jekyll island. Furnishings were a little dated but clean and comfortable. Having a Microwave was nice surprise; wish there had been a fridge. The full hot breakfast offered a large selection of items. read more

When I go to a hotel I have pretty basic expectations. Reasonable price, no roaches, and no hookers. At least no visible crimes occurring. This BW was a very reasonable price. They also offered a military discount. The beds were very comfortable. They actually had non-smoking. It was very quiet, checkout and check in was very simple. A lot of people complained about airplane noise. Seriously? You're in a city. I live by an airport and Langley Air Force base. Imagine the noise I incur daily. This place was a lot nicer looking than the La Quinta Inn down the street. I would stay again. read more
