3.5 stars. Really good, but not great. The bed was a little hard for my taste and not the plush, sink into it kind I am used to. The room was also smaller than expected. The hotel itself, especially the downstairs area, is beautiful and the service from the front desk to the valet was EXCELLENT. Still, some details missed the mark. The TV signal kept going out, the room service orange juice was not good, and the water was tap with visible particles. The also shower didn't get super hot. The location is unbeatable and I would stay again, but we moved to the Marshall House afterward for less money and preferred it there. The location was basically identical. read more

The epitome of southern hospitality and hands down the best place to stay at in Savannah, Georgia. From the moment you arrive, you are greeted by the most beyond amazing staff along with being offered ice cold water and an easy check in process. The staff was very accommodating throughout our stay. Being that I lived in Savannah 20 years ago, I have bragged about how incredible Savannah's hospitality is and the staff here definitely showed up. Huge thank you to Joey, Jackie, Cindi, and Darnell or as I refer to them as the dream team for making our stay so incredible. I hope they promote you all into management. Our room was absolutely beautiful and comfortable. Honestly, one of the best beds I have ever slept on. Perfect if you have jet lag. I love that the toiletries have peppermint so you repeal bugs, which is a must in the south. Great alternative if you forget the bug spray. There's a coffee bar, restaurant, and a speakeasy bar that was Alice and wonderland themed. In the afternoon you are offered champagne, which is such a nice touch. They have bikes available to sightsee rather than walking. This hotel is close to everything in case you want to walk and explore shops, dining, etc. Overall, this hotel is beautifully decorated and charming. Something Savannah is known for. The good: The Hotel is part of Hiltons Curio Collection, and is located in the Savannah Historic district. If you're a Diamond member, the Perks are great. The bad: The rooms are very small. Make sure you don't book a room near the elevators. very noisy all night long. Conclusions: if you're looking for an eclectic stay in the Historic visit, and don't mind the high prices, this is your best bet. read more

The Drayton Hotel remains one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. It is also one of the most beautiful hotels I've stayed at. The staff is so so welcoming and helpful. The lobby is absolutely gorgeous as is the restaurant/bar attached to it. I had a complimentary breakfast for each night at the restaurant attached and it was absolutely delicious. Amazing coffee and a few great options to eat. I also visited their rooftop for drinks and a snack and it was so lovely. The bartenders were great and so were the drinks along with the views of Savannah. Finally the door. Oh, how lovely it was! I absolutely loved the decor. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was so spacious. The floors were a little dirty with crumbs and hair but honestly it didn't take away from how great the room was. You have amazing snacks and a fridge full of drinks to choose from as well. The location is lovely, very walkable. I thought maybe it would be too loud since it was next to a main road but fear not, it was super quiet! I can't wait to visit Savannah again and stay here! read more

We loved the Drayton! From the moment we walked in, it had an amazing vibe, the lobby is a great place to sit and have coffee or read or just unwind and relax. our room was clean, comfortable, and well stocked. The mini fridge with drinks and snacks was perfect. We asked for extra blankets stepped out to eat and when we returned we had a huge cozy comforter waiting. We had breakfast from the hotel restaurant daily in our room and coffee from the on-site coffee shop. Drinks at the rooftop bar and went down to the speakeasy bar in the basement it was closed but looked really nice The staff is very friendly and helpful. 100% would stay here if we return to Savannah and totally recommend the this hotel if you are staying in Savannah read more

Definitely adding this to the list of places to stay in Savannah. The lobby had a great boutique vibe and is well located within walking distance of commonly toured places. I only experienced their rooftop bar. It had a rich east coast beach look and feel with a great rooftop view of the river and the town hall. They had a great musician that brought the guest together. read more

Overall, I would not come again. gorgeous interior design and lovely staff however not very accommodating. we requested extra blankets because the double beds were so small we could hardly fit and our request was shut down throughly. small room for the high price anddddd our rooms were not cleaned!!! however the hotel does have a lot of special touches for example I came to celebrate my birthday and someone brought up to the room champagne and cake and a hand written letter which was very thoughtful. I recommend this for a girls trip or younger adults who are coming to barhop bc the location is primeeeeee. but if you're looking for a very comfortable stay that is relaxing this is not it because the wooden floors make it very noisy. ps. does any one else experience damp bedding, carpet, rug at hotels?! this is like the 2nd time it's happened to me n it's gross n uncomfy to sleep and walk on!!!! UPDATE: the hotel manager had called and was veryyy sweet about the inconveniences and offered accommodations, i think this was more of a situational issue!!! read more

On our way down to Florida to visit family, my wife and I wanted to stop in Savannah for one night. We brought our two small dogs with us and everywhere we have stayed in Savannah before that were dog friendly, have been terrible. So we decided to pay the extra money and book a night at The Drayton. And so worth it! The hotel is beautiful. It's designed well, has a swanky feel and is surrounded by gorgeous prints and greenery. There's a little coffee shop and a full service restaurant on the first level. The rooftop bar is indoors but they have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor space is private and again great for bringing your well behaved pups! I booked in advance online and had to call them multiple times to ask questions and get clarification. They were so incredibly patient with me. Upon arrival, they were really helpful with bringing our luggage up and even brought up additional things we needed. We also asked them to microwave our homemade dog food, and bless their hearts - I could tell they were annoyed but did it nonetheless. While our room was small, it was beautiful and had everything we needed. It was clean except for you could tell they hadn't cleaned the floors in awhile. I had to wipe some water that spilled and the whole napkin was black. Otherwise, great. Comfortable and quality linens and bed. Checking out was easy breezy. Valet parking is available, and hard to find. It's right in the alley of the hotel and no clear signs. I suggest calling them upon arrival to send someone to meet you outside. Definitely going to be our go-to hotel when we are in town! read more

The rooftop was very nice and cozy and had plenty of seating. I was too focused on making new friends that I couldn't even remember what I ordered to drink. We had dinner at the Drayton Hotel and the staff was friendly and everyone had a great time. We had a preset menu and open bar. We asked our waiters several times to verify that we would not get charged if we order specific drinks or extra bread, etc. The staff assured us we wouldn't get charged and that it was a prepaid dinner. Days later we started getting several calls from the hotel's manager Hunter saying we were going to be charged for martinis and breadboards and other items that we specified multiple times to the staff that we wouldn't get charged. I find it very unprofessional and taken advantage of that we were charged with "extra" food days after the fact. A nice restaurant that claims to host large parties and groups would never do that - I thought the restaurant was cute but very unprofessional and will not recommend! read more

This is a review strictly of the rooftop bar. I haven't stayed at the hotel overnight yet. The lobby of the new Drayton Hotel is well done, warm and inviting. It smells almost as good as the Alida and is designed with a sophisticated retro vibe. We took the lobby up to the roof for a cocktail and was impressed by the decor and cleanliness of the lobby, hallway and elevators. The rooftop was deserted, but that didn't stop the bartender from making us feel right at home. He was very professional, personable and proud of the space. We didn't order any speciality cocktails, but the drinks were well made and potent, albeit a bit pricy. The rooftop has a nice wraparound area, with a view of the river and city hall. The view is somewhat obstructed by a high barrier wall around the outdoor area. Seating was arranged in various configurations with classy wicker furniture. The seating could be a touch more comfortable with some cushions. The outdoor area would benefit from some nicer lighting, a fire pit or two and maybe some heaters. Some classy live music would also be welcomed. The hotel just opened so I am sure they will tweak the space in the coming weeks. All in all, the Drayton is a positive addition to the bay st corridor. I look forward to trying some of their food and seeing how the put the excellent rooftop area to use. read more

This place is class all the way! We had to park in the parking garage across the street and the bellhop rolled a cart over to get our luggage and bring it up to our room. The hotel is GORGEOUS! The check-in desk is beautifully decorated with lots of plants and the lobby is eccentric, funky and comfortable. The staff are amazing. Very personable, overly accommodating, and very helpful in suggesting different restaurants and shops to visit. The rooftop bar was empty but the bartender was ready to serve. We were on our way to dinner so we just wanted to check it out but it's a beautiful, serene place to relax and have a cocktail. Our room was on the small side but very chic and tastefully decorated, very up-to-date. We took the time to have a cocktail in our room and sit on the large window seat looking out over Fitzroy's next door. It's perfectly located. Everything you want is within walking distance. In town to price out hotel room blocks and ceremony space for our upcoming wedding. We were in town on a Sunday so most sales staff were off and back on Monday, which is understandable. Upon visiting the Drayton we were expecting the same response as the other hotels we visited earlier. The front desk attendant at The Drayton went out of her way to show us what she could and made sure to get the GM to show us around since the sales team was also not available. This was very nice of her and Nikolai the GM was very accommodating and informative about their establishment. The hotel is fairly new and remodelled. They did an amazing job in the redesign with a West Indies meets retro 20s vibe. The rooms and event spaces were beautiful and meticulously designed down to every little detail. I definitely would recommend a stay and possible event destination. read more

Beautiful mini luxury hotel in the old historic district. Parking is only as good as their valet service ($42 per night) as we had to drive around the block several times before figuring out that street parking is impossible and the only other option is the public parking across the street. Other than that the place is a gem of a clean pretty design hotel with a live jazz dining room (French seafood....) Breakfast is minimal but good. They have a mini fine quality coffee bar and serve a selection of soft drinks and mineral waters along with fresh baked pastries (excellent pecan banana nut bread and cranberry muffins) - rooms are small but tastefully apportioned and the most comfortable pillows I've ever enjoyed in a hotel..... and then the Southern Savannah hospitality- which cannot be outmatched. Each and every member of staff from Justin and Cory (front desk) and Peter and Steel (valets) went out of their way to accommodate and help with a respectful cheerful attitude - I'd definitely return. read more

This hotel is very nice, it has a pretty restaurant. Our rooms were cozy and clean when we entered, however. The staff seems pretty snooty, which I get it - it's a nice hotel but that doesn't warrant them to treat others less than. The only thing that was complimentary in our room was the water, which that is no issue except they didn't leave a bottle opener and there was no room in the fridge to store it. The penthouse bar is okay, the drinks weren't the best and the view isn't something to marvel at. The basement bar was probably my favorite part. The bartender ( he was new ) was a great conversationalist, and made a pretty awesome drink. One last thing about the hotel is that when you book, and check into the hotel they charge you ( we were charge $200 ) and they hold it until after you check out. That can put a damper on things since they don't tell you that. read more

So the 5 star rating we are leaving is for the lounge downstairs. Our experience there was absolutely amazing and the bartender Amelia was so wonderful. We originally had come here to go to the rooftop bar but they were closed that night and we were told the lounge was open so we figured we should try it since we were already here. We found out that they had just reopened the lounge again since the beginning of COVID and it was nice to be te first people there. Let me also say that we came here for pre-dinner drinks and enjoyed it so much that we walked back to get after dinner drinks here. Our pre-dinner drinks were a dry martini and a dirty martini for my husband and I myself got the Barrel Aged Contessa. My drink was very delicious: gin, aperol and dry vermouth. When we came back for our after dinner drinks my husband changed it up for himself and I wish I could remember the name but your girl was already a few drinks and glasses of wine into the night. We really enjoyed the ambiance downstairs and the chairs were muy comfy and again the bartender Amelia was awesome. We enjoyed being able to talk with her through the night and recommend this spot to everyone! read more

I'm a picky traveler and we aren't into the old bed and breakfast type of place. I tend to go with the hotel chains so I kind of know what to expect. I'm SO glad my husband pushed me to book at the Drayton. SUPER trendy adorable, like made me want to go home and redecorate. I also wish I could have packed the king bed and brought it home with us. I was worried that our room would be too small but it was totally fine! I loved the little couch area//bar for mid day regrouping I the room. The roof top bar was a fun area with an awesome view. We had our anniversary dinner at St. Neo's and the food was perfection! Every single employee went above and beyond, starting with my phone call with questions after booking. They all paid attention to detail, helped with day plans, dinner reservations and even opening the elevator for me when my hands were full. We will be back, hands down. read more

The customer service at the Drayton hotel is abominable. I was speaking with Jayda one of their front desk clerks and she hung up on me when I asked her what her name was. They explain to me that they have a rooftop bar and that I was welcome to go up there, and then told me that because I wasn't a guest of the private party on the rooftop bar I wasn't actually welcome to go up there. The floors in my room, my small suite on the corner, were extremely sticky and oily. When I showed up the front desk person watched me struggle to open the door and he just stood there as I tried to wrestle in my bags. He waited for me to open the door three times to get my bags in the door and then said how may I help you. Avoid this place. It is the worst. read more

Bummer, would have liked to stay here as they welcome pets, however their policy does not state there's a 2 dog limit. I was willing to pay $150 fee but my 3 dogs that weigh less than 20 pounds total combined exceed the policy which is not published online. I have asked them to update their website so others with pets considering a stay have this information available. read more

The Drayton is an attractive new Hotel. My husband and I were curious to visit the Drayton because our next door neighbor has the same last name. The Hotel is very attractive but not grand. The staff are very welcoming and polite. What I like about the Drayton more than anything else is their two bars. The rooftop bar and the downstairs lounge are both fabulous. The rooftop bar transported us to Williamsburg Brooklyn, where a hip crowd was sipping Bourbon. At the downstairs lounge my husband and I felt as if we were on the set of an old movie, maybe Casablanca. If you live or are visiting Savannah, be sure to visit one of their bars. We were walking by and noticed the stunning lobby. We walked in to take a closer look and the lobby staff encouraged us to take as much time as we wanted. We discovered the Vinyl lounge in their lower level and had two amazing cocktails made by Hunter. He asked questions about what we liked and crafted cocktails that really hit the bullseye for both of us. He was super knowledgeable, attentive and entertaining. Great clientele added to the great experience. I'm definitely staying here next time I'm in Savannah.... this place takes customer service to the next level. read more

This was a FANTASTIC hotel located in the greatest spot of the savannah historic district! We were central to Everything. Across the street from the riverwalk. The staff and accommodations were great. My favorite was the concierge Kris. He took care of my family for everything! He was such a great friendly face to see at the end of the night. He even made us cappuccinos one night when we were all whining that the coffee shops were closed. I cannot say enough good things about this place! read more

Wanted to love it.... Beautiful hotel with a gorgeous lobby and our room was clean, smelled great and was impeccably clean. Our room was also beautiful, the bed was comfortable and the towels were great. Perhaps this was on purpose and/or because of Covid but there was absolutely no signage or information about the hotel or area in our room. Nothing informing us that the coffee shop was closed until Thursday or that we needed to go to the lobby for ice, that there is no room service despite what the booking site we used says, or how to contact the valet, what time is checkout, what's the WiFi password. No "do not disturb sign" for the door. The only communication in our room was a card with mini bar prices. Nothing telling us the restaurant or coffee shop hours and/ or menu(even though they are closed). Would gladly have forgone the hand written note from the owner upon check in for a little information about our stay. We understand some things have changed or are not available during this pandemic but it would be nice to know it up front, not until we have to ask you. Maybe a QR code like many restaurants have for menus could provide all of this? No maid service to our room despite the cart on our floor and the person servicing other rooms. If there is a change of policy due to the pandemic and what to do if we do/do not want maid service, tell us. Lastly, only one roll of toilet paper. If I hadn't noticed and ran out during an inconvenient time, I could call for another but there was no signage or in-room info telling me who to call or that. Yes I know it's probably 0 but ....
