Hotel bardo was phenomenal and I would stay here every time I come back to Savannah! Location: wonderful! It is just off of Forsyth park and incredibly walkable. I traveled with my grandfather and they have a complimentary car that took us to the museum of art on a hot day. Rooms: the rooms are gorgeously designed and spacious. Fully stocked mini bar and my view overlooked the pool. Service: The hotel service is wonderful. The restaurants get a lot of local traffic which means the service can get slow. There's something bittersweet about Hotel Bardo. It feels like someone really cared when they built it -- beautiful design, thoughtful touches, and great amenities. But since then, it seems like no one's paid attention to the details that actually make a stay feel 5-star. We stayed just one night and noticed several things that made the experience feel less than premium: * Curtain was literally held together with paper clips * Bathroom sink barely drained * No "do not disturb" hanger for the door, had to request one * Vacuuming started in the hallway at 7:15am * Gym had beautiful treadmills with screens and free earbuds -- but the internet was down, so none of t worked To their credit, they did offer to send someone to fix the sink... but on a one-night stay, why would I want to spend part of it with someone working on the pipes in my bathroom? That's something that should be checked before a guest ever walks into the room. There were some nice touches: a complimentary car service, wooden room keys, a convenient texting system, and solid amenities (though we didn't use many of them). That said, I couldn't help but feel like we were placed in a neglected room -- possibly because the stay was part of an Amex Platinum perk. And honestly, if I'd paid $275-$400+ out of pocket for this room, I'd be much more upset. Not trying to be petty -- but let's be real: at a true 5-star hotel, I expect a seamless experience where my basic needs are handled without me having to ask. The goods: pool, room size was nice, the shower and bathroom set up was fantastic. The valet were also great and so fast and helpful. The service at the pool was good! The cons; during our stay, we had trouble the entire time getting the room to cool down, we had the air set at 64 but could not get the temp of the room beneath 73. I complained once and they said maintenance would take a look but nothing happened and I didn't get a follow up. We didn't get informed about ANY of the imenities of the property when we checked in including hotel cars, bikes, etc... also, the front desk staff told us there were pickleball and tennis courts so we walked over only to be let down that the courts were just for tennis, why would they lie about that? Lastly, it was dissapointing when we would go out to the pool and couldn't get two chairs for the both of us. All in all, I would probably go back but with some reservations, I agree with other reviews you don't get what you pay for here from a service perspective and 5 star treatment. read more

Stayed here while we were in Savannah. Unfortunately the pride festival was going on while we were here. Therefore, the music blasted across the street until midnight which was super annoying. The rooms are very Aesthetic. However, they are definitely aging and the bathroom needs to be remodeled. The grout was nasty. Service was great. " we open at 5:00 said one of the 5 people standing around the bar", " try Collins Quarter" we were informed. We picked it based on TikTok/Instagram reviews and the stunning remodel, and it exceeded every expectation. I've been searching for a venue that blends historic charm with modern luxury--refined yet resort-style, elegant yet comfortable. Bardo achieves all that and more. The attention to detail from the moment you walk in shows the care behind the renovation. The pool, bars, restaurant courtyard, and event spaces are gorgeous--perfect for both large and intimate gatherings. Club Bardo is a must for a cocktail, and I recommend reservations for dining and services since it's popular with Savannah locals. We missed the spa and cooking classes this time but plan to experience them on our next visit. The location beside Forsyth Park is ideal--quiet, clean, and more luxurious than staying near the river, yet everything is within walking distance or a quick 5-minute cab ride. The complimentary historic district transport is a great touch. Every staff member we met was exceptional--front desk, valet, and pool teams all provided 5-star service. Special thanks to the yoga instructor on Tuesday (10/21) for starting our day perfectly, the manager at Saint Bibiana for upgrading us to a beautiful bay-window table once he learned it was my fiancé's birthday, and Franklin, the driver, who arrived within minutes in a sleek black Escalade. We went in for quick drinks at their bar. Somethings to keep in mind, they only do room charge at the pool bar. If you do not have a room at Hotel Bardo, you can get drinks in the Green Room. The place is inspired by a French Parlour. We went during afternoon and the place was quite empty. The service really lacked as our order was taken after 20 mins of sitting down, once we ordered our first drink no one ever came to check up on us. We were going to order a second drink but we sat there for about an hour and didn't feel like waiting. We had to go pay the bill at the bar. The drinks were pretty decent! Disappointed with this stay. Advertised as a 5 star hotel but truly lacking in service. Staff are extremely young and appear untrained. Front desk/concierge could not perform basic tasks such as booking a car service or answer questions regarding hotel amenities (hours/reservation policy/availiability). Pool attendants were overwhelmed and looked stressed while kitchen and bar ran out of menu food and drink options. Lastly, our room A/C was broken in the middle of summer. While the team was quick to resolve the issue (move us to another room), it is not just the sort of problem a 5 star hotel should be running into. Front desk was crowded with guests complaining and asking to speak to the manager every time we walked by. Management is in need. read more

I booked this for our family to celebrate my wife's birthday. We were very pleasantly surprised at what an awesome little hotel this is. They have excellent food, very cool hotel spaces, and great outdoor pool. Better than a large hotel, quite yet very fun. Very good amenities, surprised at how well they do it here. We used the bikes and took out the Moke car. A huge shout out to Franklin (he drives the hotel vehicles). He alone made the trip fun, request him if you want to know where to go and what to do. Mel at the front desk was very pleasant and helpful, and Antonio (manager/supervisor) who showed a lot of respect with my wife's questions and concerns. We will book here anytime we can. read more

We loved this fantastic, unique hotel right next to Forsyth Park! The hotel is beautiful inside and out, with thoughtful features throughout. We were down to this hotel and the Perry Lane Hotel. I'm sure that hotel is nice too, but we were delighted with Hotel Bardo and would stay again in a heartbeat. If you're looking for an upscale hotel in Savannah that is well situated, comfortable and beautiful, stay here! We made the reservation through Amex, and therefore got a $150 credit for use during our stay, and free breakfast daily per adult ($30 value each). This was a nice feature. The hotel has activities for which you can register ahead of time, some are free and some, like cooking classes, are for a fee. I did yoga, which was great though maybe not the best for someone who's never done yoga as it moved pretty quickly. Our two-Queen bed room was large and well appointed. Plenty of room for two adults and two teenagers. Breakfast is served each morning til 11. Free coffee, tea and pastries are available in the bar area (large and very nice space). Other things can be ordered. Coffee drinks are fast but in our experience breakfast entrees took a while. We had brunch at St. Bibiana, the hotel restaurant, which was delicious. The pastries were standouts. Service was a bit slow but it's a beautiful setting and food was delicious so it was ok. Upon arrival, we valeted our car ($55/night). When you register, the valet company texts a link through which you can request your car. In our experience it usually took about 10 minutes to get the car. The hotel offers free shuttle service to locations within a 2-mile radius. Franklin, the driver, is wonderful and will give you his number so he can pick you up later in the evening. I recommend reserving rides ahead of time as his schedule can fill up. We can't wait to come back again! read more

Took the time to type up all the issues we had and emailed manager "Antonio" on the recommendation of front desk clerk and he couldn't be bothered to email or call me to discuss (I asked for a phone call). Unknowledgeable, untrained staff, staff entering room after an explicit request not to have the room serviced, loud, wall-poundung music in our room. Renovations in the room are ridiculous!!! No dresser, stained rug, TV worked only for 15 minutes at a time. I could go on but I'll just say that we were very disappointed and shocked that the manager wouldn't even respond to our request for a phone call. read more

Beautiful hotel, great location. Housekeeping not so great. Room was not cleaned well upon check-in. Dog hair and sand on floor. Bathroom floor was sticky and bathroom sink drained super slow. Robes were stained and A/C wasn't cooling. Room wasn't cleaned after first night and it took multiple trips to front desk to resolve. Lobby bar area is very nice, but no one was picking up dirty dishes and glasses. Property could be amazing with a little attention to detail. read more

Excellent customer service from the valet team, front desk and restaurant staff. Rooms are large and attractively decorated. Hotel offers a complimentary shuttle that can drive you to dinners, etc., which was also great. We dined at Saint Bibiana, which was excellent - best meal we had by far while we were here. There's also a guest only bar upstairs which was fun to have a drink before dinner. Gym was also nice and had up to date equipment. Rooms were very clean and had everything we needed. I was incorrectly charged twice the amount I should have and no one from the restaurant or hotel will assist me with correcting the charge. They won't answer their phone and the hotel is incredibly unhelpful and just keeps transferring me to saint bibianas voicemail. The girl at the front desk supposedly took down my name and phone number btu I have not heard back. I left a message with my name and phone number and sent an email but still have not been helped. You would think for such a high end hotel and restaurant they would provide better customer service. read more

I just booked a one night stay at the hotel Bardo. I am traveling as a single woman. I checked on the website for the cost of parking and the ONLY parking they have available is a 55 dollar valet service. That includes many features like " deliveries" that I will not be using during my single night stay. I asked if there was a way to lower the rate to just park the car once in a garage because I would be walking and bicycling during my entire stay and there response was " you can try and find street parking?! " As a single woman you want me to find street parking with my luggage in a city I've never visited on Halloween?! I asked to speak with a manager to see if some compromise in price could be made.. the woman ( which surprised me that a woman would be so unhelpful in protecting another woman) told me firmly that is the set price and there will be no accommodations she would be willing to make to help support a safe stay. I find this a gross money grab. I am planning on cancelling my reservation and finding a hotel that has better operating procedures. Unless they would like to respond and help me. I am willing to pay 25 dollars for overnight parking anything extra after the high nightly cost feels excessive. read more

The hotel itself is beautiful and is located next to Forsyth Park. The rooms were comfortable and bathrooms were spacious. However, the service needs to be addressed as there are clearly ongoing issues. Breakfast took nearly an hour the two mornings in a row from seating ourselves to the time that food arrived on the table (simple yogurt and eggs/toast). We elected not to get breakfast the third morning we were there despite it being included because service was so slow and unapologetic. Pool service was also crazy slow and erratic but that was remedied by just ordering at the pool and bypassing the pool servers. Check in was also disorganized and our late check out was not acknowledged (we were locked out of our room and housekeeping came by twice to ask when we were leaving). We also asked for a missing room amenity to be brought to the room twice and it never came. Overall, beautiful property but I probably wouldn't stay here again unless consistent reviews noting major improvements in service. read more

Always taking away amenities and cutting hours for amenities. I booked here and plan ed trips in Savannah with my partner and they always change their pool bar hours. Changed from 11 to 6pm to 12 to 6pm. It was.open earlier on Fridays Saturdays and Sundays at 11 and now after I checked in to plan a weekend they changed the hours of operation to 12 to 6 for weekends. It gets darker earlier and now there is no food to be served where I planned on my morning meeting before having to go to an event off the property. This is the 3rd time I stayed and have been unpleasantly surprised. For a new hotel in which everything is very expensive to stay here, they sure.find ways of "managing" (bc it is poor management) to disappoint or fail to uphold their advertising hours of operations. Bar Bibi, Spa , etc.. if you want to succeed, stop taking what you advertise away from guests. I most likely will not stay here again. read more

I know this sounds crazy, but my wife and I are on the verge of tears after experiencing the most excellent experience of our lives. We booked Hotel Bardo for our first anniversary and fell and fell and fell more in love with every aspect of this magical and wonderful place. I don't know where to begin, but I'll start with the amazing people that make this such a special place. The restaurant was amazing!!!!! I'll be honest.. we were the jerks that showed up 30 minutes before closing. I hate to do that and I'll take the due shame, but our flight was delayed 7 hours and we didn't want to miss the opportunity to dine at Saint Bibiana. The staff could not have been cooler about our misstep. When I think about the quality of service and cuisine I wipe tears from my eyes. It was extraordinary. Thank you so much Hotel Bardo and Saint Bibiana for making our first anniversary a memory we will never forget! read more

Beautiful exterior and ambience! The rooms were tastefully designed and the staff were more than accompanying and friendly. While the rooms are pretty, the cleanliness had a lot to be desired. The tub, floor, and one of the beds had hair visible. Because we had a toddler, we needed ice to keep his milk and drinks cold. We waited over an hour each time for ice, and had to call twice. There was a complimentary breakfast, but the only visible signs of a brunch was a couple green apples and two drops of coffee in the peculator at 9:30am. We also had a difficult time with the internet (the TV continually disconnected, and was completely off at 10:00 on the day of checkout). For the cost of the hotel, seek elsewhere! read more
