Spent 4 nights without any drama. I felt the price for a king room for 2 was fair. The hotel is in a great tourist location and was clean. Breakfast was typical hotel breakfast but it was included so it saved a few bucks each day. If you can walk across a street, I'd go for the city parking garage literally right across the street to save a ton of money over the hotel valet. 2 of the 3 treadmills were broken in the fitness room which was a bummer. Everyone was nice and greeted us when leaving and returning to the hotel, even the valets. I was hoping for more of a view from the room on the 7th floor. The window was small and up high so all you could see was the sky. The pool on the 8th floor was small but nice with great view of the river. I would return if ever in Savannah again. read more

We stayed 2 nights in August. On the second night I woke up at 1:45 am because something bit me. I found 3 bugs in my bed. They appeared to be bed bug nymphs (small and white). When I squished one, blood came out. I called the front desk and they moved us down the hall. In the morning we told the manager what had happened. She asked for the pictures and video I took and then asked that I show her the bites that I had. It was humiliating. We were in the lobby and people were watching me. She said that they didn't look like bed bug bites. They had Eco Labs come in that day. I heard NOTHING from the manager. A few days later, I received a blank email with an attached photo of the receipt from Eco Labs that just stated, "No bed bug activity." They were in the room for 7 minutes according to the receipt. I called Hilton Customer Service and was livid. I told them that I had heard nothing from the hotel, but now I'm getting a blank email with a receipt attached. A few hours later, the assistant manager forwarded me the blank receipt and wrote, "No BED BUG FOUND." That was it. I have not heard back from the hotel at all. Hilton Customer Service has reached out to me several times and were sympathetic to my concerns, but stressed that they could not do anything for me, it would all have to be done at the local hotel level. I understand that EcoLabs did not find bed bug activity. I also understand that I was covered in bites and had it confirmed by a doctor that I had bed bug bites (I had to file a claim on the VRBO that we had to cancel for the next leg of our trip.) The management at the hotel made me feel insignificant and crazy. They refused to reach out to me. An apology, some Hilton Honors points, a partial refund; anything would be nice. Rather, I'm treated as a non issue. I will never stay in another Hilton Hotel again. read more

Prime location especially for the price! Close to everything, nice lobby area, good free breakfast! Lobby has an evening bar. Note: The roof top pool is closed for renovations but you have access to one at the Holiday Inn. after seeing it, we decided the cloudy pool wasn't for us. Other note: Valet parking charges $48/day but a close parking garage across the street. We paid $42 for three days. Cons: Staff doesn't seem helpful. When asked questions, they say I don't know. No one greets you at breakfast or the front desk. the only exception was the manager when i checked in and the assistant manager as i left. The rest of the stay the staff was avoiding eye contact so they didn't have to communicate overall as a Hilton Honors member i was disappointed in the service. read more

We stayed here for a few nights after our wedding and it was perfect. The breakfast was the best hotel breakfast we've ever had and the inn itself is beautiful. It's within walking distance of everything and we loved the separate garden entrance. We stopped in the dining room to have complementary charcuterie plates and wine before dinner every night and had some port and cookies in the evening when we returned. this was the worst hampton inn I've ever stayed in and the manager/owner really nasty and rude. It's a great location though so you're better off staying at the Holiday Inn express right across the street much nicer and cleaner and friendly I checked into this hotel around 9 PM and was immediately disappointed by the condition of my room. The bed sheets were filthy--completely unacceptable for a guest room. When I went to the front desk to report it, the night staff attempted to reach housekeeping, but the housekeeper did not understand English. The front desk agent ended up coming upstairs herself, changing the sheets, and was visibly appalled by how dirty they were. Although I was disgusted by the overall condition of the room, I was exhausted and decided to stay after the sheets were replaced. The next morning, I asked to speak with the hotel manager. I was told he would be back shortly, so I waited in the lobby. When he arrived, he shouted across the lobby, "What do you want?"--which was incredibly unprofessional. I asked him not to yell and approached him directly. His very first response was, "If you're not happy, we can just put you in another hotel, because I doubt we'll be able to make you happy--you're complaining about everything." I reminded him that the sheets had been disgusting, and even his own night staff acknowledged it. The Hampton Inn was conveniently located in the heart of the Historic District. The building is brick which fits into the area. Although I used Hiltons virtual key and checked in virtually the staff greeted us upon entering the lobby. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast both days which was pretty standard for a hotel breakfast. They do have an area where you can purchase snacks, soft drinks, water and select alcohol. The pool area on the roof was small but nice. The room was clean and the decor fits the area. I would definitely stay here again I had sisters stay in other hotels and wish they had picked the Hampton Inn. read more

I like its location. But with a few things that could improve to be better according to my experience. Beverly is really a nice staff that she helps me with weighting my bags and gives me 2 extra bottles of water after I ask whether is it safe to drink the tap water here. What is funny is that, there is an office desk inside the room, but there is no notepad or pen available to take notes or jot down anything handy. I am not sure someone forgot or they intentionally don't give out that anymore. There is also shampoo and shower gel, but no toothbrush and shaver or shower cap like some of others. There is also no indoor sandals or robe available. Parking is $50 a day, no free parking for guests. The internet is fast enough, but the AC/Heater in the room is not sensitive or accurate enough, I constantly have to change between 70-72, it is either too cold or too hot, never a comfortable temperature. Room cleaning is based on request like many of others, which can be good or bad depending on how you feel. I am ok with that. It has breakfast area and the food is simple and basic. In the lobby, the coffee is available for anyone to consume, I think it is quite thoughtful. Over all experience, I like it and will come back again. read more

We were able to check in around 2:30. Great location for access to River Street and nearby stores and restaurants. Near a trolley tour stop also. A very small area to drive into for unloading. Valet park or self park across the street in a public garage. Lobby area is small. Free coffee all day! Breakfast was average in options and taste of food. Rooms are okay with a slight stuffy odor. I brought a plug in deodorizer just in case though. Heat controls are kind of clumsy and could be better. A concierge is on duty to assist guests with tourist options fir things to do. read more

It's a great location Great staff - They were always helpful, chatty and smiling. Their entry way for vehicles and curb appeal is a little awkward, especially to check in park. That's pretty much my only complaint. The rooms are clean, breakfast area vast and they even have a full bar with the option of opening the glass doors into the sidewalks. read more

Clean and comfortable stay right in the heart of the Savannah Historic district. We stayed here for one night to break up our long drive to Florida and we are so glad we stayed here and got to experience a bit of Savannah on our family vacation! Helpful front desk staff gave us info about a Christmas boat parade happening the night of our arrival. The breakfast was one of the best continental breakfasts we've had with two different waffle batter flavors and delicious egg white frittatas! The good thing about this hotel is the location. You can walk to anywhere downtown. It's close to restaurants, shops, and museums. As far as the accommodations, not great. Not terrible, but just not what I'm used to, even with a Hampton Inn. I found it a little grungy. The room smelled pretty funky. I expect that's due to the motion activated air conditioner. It was just smelly and humid every time we walked in. Parking is valet only at $45/night. We found a garage about 2 blocks away for $26/night. At this price point, I'd expect a little more. We found there is no room service unless you are staying more than 3 days, the heating/air system didn't work--too hot, then too cold, no way to control it, the control for the fridge temperature is on the BACK of the fridge--inaccessible, you have to pull the fridge out of the cabinet, the food being frozen. In case you read this before you stay, parking at the hotel is $48/day and there is public parking right across the street for $20/day. read more

Location, Location, Location! This place is right on the Savannah River Walk. Tons of restaurants, bars, shops, and more within minutes of walking. Amazing views of sunrises and sunsets. The hotel was extremely clean, service was perfect, and breakfast was satisfying. The decor is modern yet comfortable. Staff members go above and beyond with service. The room was spacious even with four people and two small dogs. Plenty of room. The shower was incredible. Bed slept comfortably. Thanks to Marie, we were able to enjoy a last minute request to have our two rooms together. Hotel is very clean and well maintained. The breakfast had a good variety of items. The staff goes out of their at to help. Jonny and Terrance were the best valet ever! Hotel policy permitted us to leave our car in valet parking until 2 pm the day we departed. This afforded us plenty of time for initial sight seeing in the historic district, without having to pay for more parking. read more

The only plus to this hotel stay was the hospitality of the staff. 1. The A/C is full of visible mold 2. The bathroom sink water pressure is extremely weak 3. The bathroom sink was clogged with an enormous amount of hair, mold and other objects which I pulled out because the sink would not drain and kept filling up. 4. Housekeeping was nonexistent the room was never cleaned. I purposely left the room early and when I returned later that day the room still had not been cleaned. 5. Due to allergies I requested a Feather free in advance at booking and every pillow had feathers in it. 6. I requested extra towels and that request was ignored. 7. The towels and bathroom floor had long strands of blonde hair all over them. 8. The Complimentary breakfast was definitely lacking in the selection.There was nothing for people with allergies. Stayed here the first week of December 2022. Now I booked this a few months ago so maybe it wasn't on their site when I booked but this hotel is currently going under renovation. Great! It is probably due. However, we were staying on the 5th floor and the renovation was happening on the 6th floor during on our stay. Not great. It did end every day around 6:30pm but started back up around 7:30am. OK maybe I should be up by 7:30am but I am on vacation. Pool area was closed because of the renovation. Probably wouldn't have used it but was wanting to walk out to see the view. There was a sign that you could use the Holiday Inn pool across the street if you wanted. Remote checkin and mobile key worked well. No need to even speak to anyone if you didn't want to. We parked across the street in the public garage for three nights and it was $17. Better than the $39 a night at the hotel. Standard Hampton Inn breakfast every morning and the coffee/tea bar in the lobby all day long. Also provided bottled water on request at the front desk. The water in the sink didn't taste correct. Rooms were dated but like I said they are being renovated. They had a fridge and microwave. Shower had plenty of hot water. They hotel had TV issues the entire time we were there. We were not in town to watch TV but would have been nice to see the news. We watched in on our own devices. WiFi worked fine. We were looking towards the river but on the 5th floor only trees which was fine. Walls, floors are thin so know you will people. Location is this hotel's strength. One street up from River and two blocks from historical downtown. You can walk everywhere from here. No need for a car. Our limited interaction with staff was good. I am sure after the renovation this place will shine again. It was fine for our three nights. I wish I knew about the renovation as I would have stayed on a lower floor. I also think it was a tad high price per night during the renovation. They do need to a bit better job cleaning the rooms. I cleaned because of COVID and it wasn't great. read more

DISAPPOINTING and OVER BOOKED... I would give ZERO stars if I could. My husband and I made it to the hotel late after a long day of travel. We booked using the Hilton app and received a confirmation email. Since we knew we would be arriving at the hotel after midnight, we used the "contactless digital check-in" feature through the app. I had confirmed my stay and was awaiting my digital key, hours before arriving. We arrived late Friday night and upon arrival, we were turned away by the front desk associate. She told us the hotel was overbooked, and did not offer any help. She turned us away and cancelled our stay. Needless to say, we were FRUSTRATED. This was a major inconvenience after driving for hours... I have used the digital check in and key feature in the past and have never run into this kind of issue. I'm terribly disappointed in Hilton. A call from the hotel when booking hours prior would have avoided this terrible situation. After this, I'm not sure about staying at another Hilton. read more

Decided to stay here for a night while in historic downtown Savannah. The hotel looked beautiful from the outside and a bit dated and old on the inside. The walls/windows are paper thin so guests can literally hear each other and also along the busy Bay Street - not the best for shut eye. All the staff is very friendly and helpful, though. Valet parking is $30 a night, but there's a public parking garage right across from the hotel fr $5 a day. read more

Until the last day, things were pretty nice here. There were the occasional noisy guests that you expect from a hotel near the river walk. People were screaming in the hallways, waking the neighbor's newborn baby, and teenagers knocked on every door in the middle of the night. You expect that in any hotel in Savannah near the river, especially on or near a holiday. We were very disappointed with the parking situation. The valet parking attendant made it appear that the only option was valet parking; it is not. You can park in the lot across the street for $5-$10 a day. This felt disingenuous to us. We were driving a rental and could not allow anyone but us to drive the vehicle. Everything else went well until we prepared to leave on the last day. My husband was getting his shirts out of the closet to get dressed and found them soaking wet. A large puddle on the ground came out from under the closet door. On inspection, we found a leak coming from the closet's ceiling. The walls were wrinkled around the top, and it was clear this was a long-term issue. We were on the 7th floor; the only thing above us was the swimming pool and the roof. So, either the pool was leaking, or the roof was. We called to let them know, went to breakfast, and returned to find a trash can in the closet under the leak. No offer to comp my husband for his shirts. He had to wear soaking wet shirts with nasty-smelling stains to Charleston, where we could buy him a gaudy touristy t-shirt until we could find an appropriate store to replace his clothes. We only stay in Hampton Inn or Marriot when we travel. Usually Hampton. This was a very disappointing end to our Father's Day weekend trip. read more

A great location downtown in the River District. The 6th floor has been designated as the dog friendly floor. Not sure if that is always this way or just because of the folks running from Hurricane Florence. As we checked in the lady at the front desk (Kiawahana, I believe her name is) effortlessly handled our two-room check in. Young man at the front who helped us unload all of the stuff out of our car gave me information regarding the parking garage across the street as their parking is underground. As I was worried about any excess rain or even God forbid the Savannah River overflowing it was good to know of the alternate parking. I think the only gripe I have is that the view out of our window is mainly the backs of other businesses but the rooms have a small refrigerator and a microwave, with two queen beds each. Good value, good service, and like all Hampton Inns free breakfast. read more

I am not sure what to think of my experience here. The first day we arrived, a man from house keeping walked into our room without evening knocking, and when we were standing there, he didn't even have reasoning behind it to apologize. Rooms here have very thin walls and every night we couldn't sleep because housekeeping was incredibly noisy. The hotel sent an apology gift for this but our lack sleep (and toiletries) were disappointing for our anniversary weekend and New Years. One of my pillows were yellow but it was fixed immediately once addressed. The bedding was all very clean. The complimentary cookies in lobby are delicious. One woman during our stay at the front desk was incredibly friendly! I wish I asked her name while I was there. The breakfast was still a Hilton breakfast so not gourmet but the best I had at all the locations I have ever stayed. Dining room is very large. Fireplace in lobby is a wonderful touch. **** A tip would be to add mailing stamps and post card stamps at the front desk for post cards. I am old fashioned and enjoy doing this. read more

We were not told that you have to beg them to clean your room until we noted that no one came after we were there 24 hours. We requested it and it was finally done. I went to the front desk and requested it be done again in 48 hours and again no one came. When I asked about it, they said I was not on the list of rooms to be cleaned despite the fact that the person who took my name put us in to have the room cleaned. There are so many places in Savannah to stay.... Next time I will stay at one that cleans rooms daily ....i don't think that is too much to expect from a hotel ! read more

My husband and I stayed at the Hampton Inn Savannah-Historic District for a week at the beginning of July. The hotel is conveniently located to a number of restaurants, shopping, sight seeing locations, etc. The lobby is beautifully decorated and the employees behind the desk always said hello to as while we passed through. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the housekeeping staff did a great job. One of our favorite amenities was the rooftop pool. We would go up in the evenings, and there were always people up there, but never an overwhelming amount. Based on the number of towels remaining, I'd assume that it stays busy throughout the day. There is limited pool-side seating, which is something to keep in mind if you are traveling with a larger group. The pool is able to hold up to 30 people, but there is only seating for about 16 - three round tables with four chairs each, and four lounge chairs. Even if most people are in the pool, they tend to have all of their stuff on the tables and chairs, leaving little space for anyone new to come up. The pool deck gets very slippery! Be cautious while walking around the pool. While we were there, we saw a number of adults and children slip and fall. All of those things considered, we loved this hotel. I would love to give them a four star rating, but we had some issues with the valet service that remain unresolved. We drove into Savannah from Pennsylvania and valeted our car for the week. When we went to leave on Friday, the valet brought our car around front, and we noticed that the door was scratched up and had a slight dent in it. The valet took our information, documented the damage with photos and promised that the valet manager would call us that day to discuss how to proceed. It's now been a month and we haven't heard anything from them. We have never had any problems with this at other Hilton properties, and are so disappointed in this occurrence. If you're not driving into town, definitely stay here! The staff, rooms, and pool are worth it. If you are driving, you may want to consider staying, or at least parking, elsewhere. Good place if you want breakfast provided in the morning. Waffles, eggs, sausage. Rooms pretty decent. Cleaning could step it up a bit. But they do have a lot to clean daily. We had to clean the toilet base when we got there and kids handprints still on the mirror from previous people, but that was it. Everything else was good. Bedding clean. No dust. The valet...super nice staff. We did one night of valet for $45. When they got our car the next morning it was housed in the public parking garage across the street and not in the valet parking of the hotel. I am assuming that they were full. So the next 4 nights we took our car out of valet parking and just kept it in the public parking garage. It cost $35 for 4 nights in the parking garage. The pool on the roof was nice! Clean and well kept. In comparison of all the other hotels around I would still stay here. It is in a great location to walk to Broughton street and local shops. Also a great place to access River Street. So with the location you don't need to move your car. The staff were very nice and accommodating. Will recommend this hotel to family and friends in the future. read more

Perfect location for walking around down town and being close to the water. They were very helpful during COVID and brought us all the towels we needed for a four night stay.
