I stayed here between Dec. 25-29, 2025 to visit family nearby and it provided all the basic necessities for my vacation. The staff was friendly and I didn't hear much noise during the day or night (excluding one guy who always stomped above my room, but it didn't happen too often) I got a peaceful rest in their special suite that came with a heart-shaped tub- that was definitely used as much as possible! The television worked properly, along with charging ports. I also had a sink in the bathroom and main room, plus a mini fridge and microwave. The hotel breakfast was decent, with my favorites being the french toast and sausage patties. The location is nearby a Walgreens, gas station, and a couple food spots like Applebees, Little Ceasers, and Panda Express. Most of these are walkable, but if you don't want to put in that effort (especially in the middle of winter) they're all just a quick 1-3 minute drive away. While you shouldn't expect anything remarkable when you stay here, that doesn't make it poor in the slightest. As long as I have a sturdy roof over my head, polite staff, and cooked food, I wouldn't mind coming here again. read more

Pros: 1. Location is good and right off the highway. 2. Felt physically safe at the location. 3. Close enough to walk to other food locations. 4. Gas is close. Cons: 1. They do not inform you of their entire pet policy. 2. They do not have password protected guest WiFi. This is fundamentally bad for business because it's bad for guests. Unprotected WiFi leaves guests vulnerable to malware and hackers. It's 2025 and businesses should know to have password protected WiFi for their guests. It's a very basic security measure and is just as important as a hotel room door locking properly. 3. The front desk representative was overheard asking guests about what they knew about an ambulance picking up another guest from the hotel the night before. Guests should have the presumption of privacy NO MATTER WHAT, especially where their private health is concerned. The staff member doesn't have a right to this private information and certainly should not be gossiping about it with other guests. I hope there is some HIPAA training going on. 4. Front desk staff mocked people from a wedding party to other guests. Overall, we did not have a positive experience here. What they have going for them does not make up for their lack of professionalism and basic care for guest privacy and security. read more

If I could give this place a negative star, I would. If a customer is paying the hotel money their rightfully owed money, then why should it matter. I made this review in honor of a young lady and her kids facing homelessness and trying to get away from someone. You guys could've helped her get some help rather than your staff being assholes to her. How do you expect the public to treat you well when your own staff don't? It's called being unprofessional. The golden rule is the customer is always right no matter what. Instead of kicking her out, you shouldve have her some help. People in your staff don't deserve their jobs if they choose to treat people as if they were a pile of dog shit smeared on the buttom of your shoes. I'm here for four days for training for work. Rooms are bare bones, nothing fancy. Seemed decently clean but nothing that makes you feel like you're staying in anything but a 2001 hotel. Breakfast is never ready by 6:30 as they state. I have a very tight schedule and have to leave by 6:40 and only 1/4 days was breakfast even ready by then. Rooms are not tended to daily, if at all until your stay is over. Staff is nice, just wish the operation was ran more smoothly and timely. read more

I spent a month working here in July/Aug 2023 Best Western (Davison, MI) the only good thing I can say about the place is the Housekeeping Staff Rocks! I worked Maintenance I almost quit my 2nd week there because I had to go in and tear down a room to be treated for Bed Bugs I was not happy about being exposed, I sprayed 3 rooms once and one twice along with a hallway twice for Roaches, then there was the Fentanyl Overdose then I was about to quit when the GM asked me to stay til he could have a meeting with a coworker and myself because it seemed he had a problem working maintenance with a 61 year old woman who was more experienced than he was and more knowledgeable I have been in construction in one way or another for over 40 years he was in his 30s, I called and told the manager he came at me in a way that I thought I would have to defend myself (that's why I quit immediately) and she didn't seem to care enough for anyone to call and ask what happened they probably went with the mans story, bottom line for the price you can get Bed Bugs or Roaches anywhere you don't have to spend over $100 a night for that! The other thing I thought was pretty crappy is that they have a maintenance guy in his 60s also and as soon as he has the 2 of us trained to the GMs satisfaction they planned to fire him with and he has no idea, I felt horrible when I was informed of that! read more

On Sunday, March 27th, I returned home from vacation to a flooded basement. At 8pm that evening I was looking for a hotel that was pet friendly in my area. After checking in Lapeer and finding no options I turned to Best Western. They only had one pet friendly room left. They happily made arrangements. When I informed Linda that I would need to stay on a day-to-day basis due to no heat she went out of her way to accomodate us. While all the rooms were booked for the week she worked with management to make arrangements to stay by switching rooms. As the week went by she made sure that we were able to keep our room all the way until Friday when we finally had heat again. Linda was wonderful and professional making this time of crisis a little easier. The room was very nice and in good condition. Thank you Linda and Best Western for all you did to help us. Rooms are clean. Others are right, staff is just okay. And by far the worst wifi of any hotel I've ever utilized. Two stars may be generous.

"Average hotel. Insensitive, inhospitable rude staff. Keep on driving, there are other hotels in Lapeer." My hotel stay at the Best Western in Davison was overall average but overshadowed by the inappropriate actions and comments of a rude staff member (that should never be encountered in the "hospitality" industry) working on the morning of 06/09/13. The hotel itself is rather average and comes with a complementary breakfast bar. The breakfast bar is very average and staff members will rudely take it down and yell at patrons trying to eat when close to the deadline. The hotel does not have elevators, or if it does, I never discovered them. A nice perk of the hotel was that they offered free WIFI throughout the hotel. I stayed in a standard twin bed room, which had a nice large Samsung flat screen tv, useful desk, and reading chair. I knew others staying at the hotel and was able to view the standard room with a king bed and also the suite with a hot tube, which are larger and more spacious than the standard with two twin beds. The size of my room worked well for my stay. The time with which the hotel staff came to turn down the rooms was a rather odd time (8:50am) being that many guests could be awoken. Overall the rooms were rather standard with some features such as the tv which made them feel more modern. However, I would say my main memory of this hotel will be overshadowed by an insensitive and rude staff member named Tammy. On the final morning of my stay I witnessed this staff member's rudeness or general disregard for service to the guests of the hotel. I am one to understand that everyone has bad days, and perhaps this staff member could have been tired from working a double shift or a numerous amount of excuses however, a hotel staff member within the hospitality industry should never act in the way that this member did. I witnessed one of the hotel guests arrive to the breakfast area as the staff member was taking down some of the food item. The guest asked if they could still eat some of the food, and the staff member responded flippantly "well hurry up, I wanna take this down and get out of here". This was not said in a general way that a staff member says to a patron, but was said so informally, in the same fashion a parent would outburst to a young child. After telling the guest this, the staff member locked the mini fridge which held most of cold breakfast items (yogurt, butter, hard boiled eggs) etc. to which the guest then asked, "what would be the likelihood that I could get in the fridge to retrieve a yogurt, for just a second?" The staff member ignored the patron and walked away. The patron asked again, if she would open the fridge, at the same time I had walked over as I required butter for my breakfast (for which I had arrived before the breakfast end time), and realized they were all locked in the mini-fridge. I asked the staff member if I could get in the fridge thinking it would be no issue (as it should not have been), and she rudely said to me, "I've already locked it, breakfast time is over!". The other patron who was standing hoping to get a yogurt, was in dismay seeing the staff member's reaction to me, and instinctively said out loud "Are you serious? I can't believe this". Where the staff member then could have alleviated the problem by opening the fridge or saying, "I'm sorry", she instead threw her arms in the arm and said, "I already locked it all up, you should have gotten here earlier, I want to get it put away to get out of here". I was shocked by this, and privately said to this other patron, "I'll have to write about this in my review". The staff member, Tammy, must have over heard and outlandishly said, "Fine! Write it up in your review, go ahead!". I can honestly say that I was shocked by these audacious comments . After being rude enough to act in the way she did to patrons asking to simply unlock a mini-fridge for a minute, if I was to realize a patron was now going to write about the incident in a review, I would not have proudly and snidely remarked at them to "do it". It is because of insensitive rude staff such as Tammy, that I give this hotel a poor rating. Do yourself a favor, don't stop in Davison to rest. Take the extra few minutes and drive to Lapeer and stay at a Holiday Inn or Best Western there. read more

This hotel is phenomenal! CLEAN! Rooms clean, bathrooms clean, lobby clean! Beds are very comfy and the gym is a nice place to workout and watch cable TV. This place has the BEST breakfast I have ever had in a hotel....EVER. Eggs, sausage, french toast sticks, fresh made waffles, fruit, cereal, juices, coffee, tea, bagels, biscuits and gravy, oatmeal, toast, jellies, & yogurt! The staff continue to refill the food so it is full and fresh. It's not a first come first serve situation! We traveled from CA for our grandfathers funeral. A very rough time for all and this hotel was the perfect place to make our stay comfortable. They allowed us (and there were a lot of us) to utilize their lobby to visit, eat dinner, and play cards. The fireplace and comfortable couches and chairs made this area feel like home. STAY HERE!! You will NOT be disappointed!! Such a nice staff! Next visit to this area, we will be staying here again! We really enjoyed this Comfort Inn. We were on the road and called enroute just an hour before arrival. Very friendly and easy to reserve. Since Mom could not use stairs, they gave us the handicapped room which was very close to the lobby and breakfast area. We would stay here again. Best was Lucky's Steakhouse across the parking lot! After a long day of sightseeing and driving, nothing like a full bar and perfect steak to soothe ones soul. And no driving! read more

Awful "customer service." Arrived after an hour and 40 minute drive from home for a holiday party in Davison. Booked through Expedia which specified hotel was "pet friendly." Also on the hotel's website, specifically this location said "pet friendly" with a dog icon with a heart over it. After arriving we were told (after we checked in) that there are only 3 pet friendly rooms and they were all "taken." My fiancé spent over 20 minutes on the phone with Best Western corporate who offered no solution besides to "call other hotels in area which allowed dogs." My fiancé then called Expedia to cancel our reservation in which Expedia did not want to do since the front desk associate already checked us in despite the fact they would not let us stay with our dog. There were plaques in the lobby staying "We will make it right" or something to that effect. I pointed this out to the front desk associate as she was not being helpful. We asked to speak to a manager. The associate called the manager and we could hear her through the phone. The associate said that Expedia cancelled our reservation at our request and the manager said "well give them a refund but we will get our money from Expedia because we could have booked that room." Never did the manager or front desk associate try to accommodate us as we were mislead by Expedia and by this hotel's website with the "pet friendly" statement. Needless to say we missed the company party we were supposed to be attending because we had nowhere to go with our dog. We drove 40 minutes south to Auburn Hills and stayed at a Wyndham which allowed pets (ALL of their rooms, not just 3) and they were very accommodating. If you have a pet, do not plan on staying in this hotel. Beware. read more

Originally booked 3 night stay. After driving for 7 hours out-of-state, upon arrival it is discovered our 2nd night was not available because "dog rooms" were full. Right, all three of them. Made arrangements to leave next morning. Found out by chance next a.m. there was a cancellation for Sat. Fine, we changed our plans on the spot to 2 nights at the front desk, due to our overall disappointment with front desk canceled Sun. reservation. Security cams would show this. We left Sun morning. Got home and discovered we were over-billed for 3 nights, equaling $408!! Originally $340 for 3! Wth? Called Expedia, they were no help. So now it's on to dispute the charge with Visa because of sheer incompetence at Best Western Davison, MI. Have receipt to prove we were on the road in Ohio Sunday morning and NOT in MI on Monday checking out as hotel claims. Never again will we stay in a place that has no clue who is checking in or out! Terrible! Stay away! Rude arrogance at this location for whatever reason. Could be Flint water! Although they have a sign posted that says the water is from Detroit....how is THAT any better?!
