DO NOT STAY HERE... I told them that I was going to have a surgical procedure (not their problem), but when I asked for an early check in, they weren't very professional about saying that wasn't possible. Again, they didn't have to give an early check in, but some compassion isn't out of the question. Then, I requested a room across from the pool because my girl's would be using the pool during our two days stay. He told me that there was a storm and the pool was closed. He knew this BEFORE we paid for two days KNOWING why we were staying. I'll update this review after I see the room, if necessary. I truly hope it isn't necessary and the room is clean and the breakfast is as described. Hopefully the room is also asks described with the amenities posted on their website. read more

I am big on customer service and professionalism! I got on hotels.com and after a nightmare stay at a hotel In Philadelphia my WHOLE family got lice in, I now very much pay attention to reviews and weigh my affordable options while traveling. The best western Markita inn was the most affordable with the most stars, without being a dingy motel that probably has some sort of trafficking being run out of it. So I booked and prayed for the best. We pulled out pretty late and I'll admit, I was a bit nervous when I saw the place. But, was immediately put at ease. The lady who checked us in was so helpful, friendly and professional and QUICK! Knowing it was late and I had a crying baby in the car. She sensed the tiredness. Lobby was clean and smelled good. Our room was a bit outdated, they *could* do renovations and fix up the rooms a bit, but the room was clean! I hate carpeted hotels, but the carpet didn't feel too squishy and gross like hotels do at times. The room was clean, beds clean and comfortable. It was a quiet stay. We had breakfast the next morning and it was great! Full breakfast (biscuits, gravy, sausage, eggs, potatoes, waffles, etc.) and the waitress was so helpful and great. I'm not a big cry baby about outdated rooms as long as it's clean and staff is friendly, professional and I feel safe. It was a great experience. We will be staying again on our way home. This is a n old motel on the highway. The rooms are very clean and large. There's a good refrigerator, kept our beer cold. Bed was too soft, air conditioning in window needed to be turned way down, we weren't cool enough during night. Breakfast: big, hot biscuits, gravy, awful sausage, 1/8 inch thick egg rounds ( to make an egg Mc muffin), good coffee, instant oatmeal, yogurt and juices in a fridge, packets of butter and jelly. About 5 tables in the area next to the desk. If you reserve on hotels. com they want a credit card from only that person. There is really nothing bad about this place, other than ugly, I would look for another place if I came back to Durant. read more

I give this place a 2 only because the reception was friendly, however the women who put out the breakfast was not! The place did not match pictures or the reviews. I thought it was an efficiency. It smelled like mildew I had to get Glade spray just to stay in the room to get through the smell. The tub was dirty I had to wear flip flops to shower. I would not recommend. read more

This motel should not be rated a 2 1/2 star, it is old and dirty, there are layers of paint where it's been painted so many times, drop in ceiling tiles in bathroom, we had a no smoking room and our towels reeked of smoke. This place is over done on Priceline app and here. Room doors are exposed to outside and a loud train runs right behind motel, not in a great area either. Very disappointed staying here and paying right at $100, should be a 39.99 2 people special! read more

If you're looking for a hotel in Durant don't look any further. This is the only truly clean one. The ladies who clean the rooms and work at the front desk are far more professional/helpful/contentious than the other hotels off the Main Street in Durant. This is the one you want. Cheers read more

Front desk lady was nice and helpful. Room was clean and acceptable. Price - ehhh, not so great. Price doubles on weekends, presumably for the "high-rolling" casino crowd? Yikes. I don't think the very sketchy people hanging out in the parking lot and on the balconies were being required to pay the same rate as me. Just a guess. Two guys were drying their pants (work pants?) by draping them on the outside air conditioner vent. An angry tattooed lady (a guest or just someone hanging out?) was smoking furiously on the outside steps to level two, screaming at someone on her phone that she "needed the stuff and get it here now." A guy on the second floor balcony was hanging out by his door and rubbing what looked like baby oil on his bare chest, constantly looking towards the distance, as if waiting for someone or something. Sketchy. Made darn sure the car was always locked and double bolted the door. They have "smoking rooms." Non smoking rooms are rarely available. Ugh. The lady at the front desk was nice. The sheets were clean. Everything else was either sketchy or just bad. Avoid. read more

Warm greeting upon check-in. M Taylor checked me in and out. There was another employee present during check-in who normally doesn't work the day shift. She was very pleasant. They explained the breakfast available the next morning. We were given a room on the first floor. The room was very clean and you can tell it had been sanitized. Breakfast consisted of biscuit with egg or toast, cereal, sweet rolls, juice, fresh fruit, coffee, yogurt, or milk. Choice of whole milk or even almond milk. Check out was quick and easy. The price of the room for one night was very reasonable. The hotel is very close to Choctaw Casino and is owned by a Choctaw native. read more

Good little hotel if you are in the area. The location is perfect if you are going to the casino. Staff is nice and polite. They reminded me to download the Best Western app so that I can collect my points and get free nights. Our room was clean and spacious with a microwave and refrigerator. Bathrooms were a little small, but it worked for one night. The complimentary toiletries were good quality. The one complaint I have is that the bed was a little too hard for my liking. read more

This place is the most basic of Best Western establishments. The rooms are comfy. There are some lower standards with guests scavenging around the parking area looking for cigarette butts to smoke and same guests selling brand new Craftsman tool sets out of their room??? Very shady! We are going to keep the dead bolt on and car alarms set. The breakfast is outstanding with weekdays in the restaurant and weekends at the hotel office. Pests of the crawling type have been sighted here. We are here for approx two months for work. Is this the nicest Best Western? No! It is a good value. read more

Beds are terribly hard and old and sunk in the middle other than that great hotel def not up to par with other Best Western hotels.

Had a good experience for the price it was. Lots of food places nearby and a Walmart real close also. Would come back when visiting again

Stayed here on a gambling trip. I was very impressed, clean room and a very courteous staff. I was nicely surprised to learn there is a free (tip of course) shuttle to and from the casino operating 24 hours. Will definitely be back. read more

WORST hotel i have stayed at! Got into our room to find dead bugs all over the floor, crumbs everywher and a live cricket under the covers.... Switched rooms and in the new room i had to fix the air conditioning unit, and had to wait 2 hours for a cable guy to fix the tv. When i talked to the manager which there was not one on duty i had to use the employees cell phone to call she told me its that time of year and pretty much live with it they will not give my money back to stay somewhere else.... Bad service crappy room and horrible management. DO NOT waste your money. read more

Thrilled with our experience at this hotel. We were basically looking for something inexpensive for one night. What we got was a clean, well appointed room that exceeded our expectations. The staff was very nice. I actually had an interaction with the owners. They were also very nice. The full breakfast in the morning was tasty and hot. This is an older hotel, but well cared for. Best Hotel in Durant, OK in my opinion. Even though it is older, it has newly remodeled rooms with all the modern conveniences including a refrigerator and microwave upgraded in their regular rooms. It was clean and smelled great! The front desk staff are the most friendly, welcoming, and knowledgable I've ever come across and they went above and beyond my expectations. I will definitely stay again and will tell everyone headed to Durant to stay there too. read more
