An overnight stay while attending an event. My suite was cozy and clean. Hotel staff was pleasant at the check in. They offer me complimentary water which was perfect because it stopped me from having to leave to get some. The bed was comfortable and roomy. It felt good to spread out without my spouse. The morning breakfast was eggs, sausage, bacon, sausage links, waffle, biscuits and gravy. It gets busy down there with people hanging out around the food area. The hotel offers a gym and outside pool. Walking distance from a little coffee spot if your not into the pot made bland of things. For a Beat Western I was impressed. 3 1/2 Stars.

This Best Western Plus was renovated and newly reopened this year - I stayed back in June and had a great experience!! The staff were all awesome - so welcoming and friendly! They even had my name out on a sign welcoming me that made me feel so special haha! I believe they do that for their elite tier members (I was gold then but have since made Diamond :P LOL!) The entire hotel, from the lobby to the breakfast area to the room was spotlessly clean and all seemed brand new - even the pool! I had a king room - nice view of the pool and mountains. Just a standard hotel room - nothing crazy - but nice and clean and plenty of space to move around. And plenty of counter space in the bathroom which I loved! My room had a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker - everything I needed! Bed was comfy - even had a couch and seating area!! They give you a nice hot breakfast - waffles, eggs and meats along with all the usual cold offerings. Plenty of hot, yummy coffee and lovely staff attending the breakfast area eager to help! There's tons of parking and it's very nicely located for exploring the beautiful Bellingham area. They also offer an airport shuttle which is convenient! Oh fyi their pool is seasonal from March to October! Would happily stay here again!

Ya know, we booked this hotel because it was right in the downtown core of Bellingham and I had my…read moresuspicions when we arrived. We arrived Friday night and could not find any parking in the small garage, so we ended up parking in the street. When we told the team member at the front desk this, he gave me other places of where to park and said that street parking would be fine as long as we moved our car by 11am the next day. I didn't feel completely comfortable parking on the street, but fortunately, the car was still there when we woke up. And thus soon after, all my suspicions about Hotel Leo faded away. This hotel was fantastic! Besides the small garage which obviously fills up quickly for hotel guests, we have no complaints. First off, the hotel staff could not be friendlier. Although we did not have the best first impression with the lack of parking, it had nothing to do with the staff or actual lodging. We were warmly welcomed and were told all the important deets of our stay. At the hotel lobby is free Caffe Vita coffee and Smith tea for guests, along with filtered water. Heck yeah! They also have this really good coffee and tea in the hotel room, which was a win because we're a fan of both of these products from the Pacific Northwest! We had a room with a king size bed and it was very large and spacious. When booking, we also specifically looked for a dog-friendly hotel in the area, which Hotel Leo is. So yes, an automatic win. We saw a bunch of doggy guests here, and they have a designated dog relief area with poop bags. We had everything we needed, including AC and WiFi. The location cannot be beat as we were walking distance to everything being in downtown Bellingham, and it made for a great base for when we hiked around the area. I also love the historic building, and they show the old photos of the hotel when it first opened in the lobby. I highly recommend staying at Hotel Leo if you're in need of accommodations in Bellingham.

Value: 10/5 Stars. At ~$140 for a room that actually had two complete rooms (bed, 3/4 bath in one…read morefull bath in the other, refrigerator, TV, coffee service in one and microwave in the other) in the heart of downtown on a Sat night, this place gets 10 STARS! Service: 5/5 Stars. Granted, we were "low-touch" guests, but everyone was pleasant, prompt, professional, and helpful. The room was perfectly clean and set-up for our stay. The restaurant staff were very nice and accomodating. Quality: 4/5 or 5/5 Stars. I only took off a star because it is a very old hotel and there are limits to what can do without completely tearing down, which would be a massive shame. You could argue for 5 stars for what it is, but I put that love into the value section. They could perhaps do a little more for a more upper-end feel, but then prices would start rising and charm would start to drop. If I ever have a need/desire to stay in Bellingham again, if I'm on a budget or just want to be walking distance from everything in the downtown core, this hotel will definitely be my first thought. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for this.
