Spent my birthday in Cannon Beach. Went for the puffins, but stayed for the balcony views at Hallmark Resort, making strawberry s'mores & of course checking out their onsite spa. ‍

Blankets and fire kits available for the beach.

Wonderful stay! The staff was friendly and attentive, the rooms were spotless, and the bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable. Beach access was outstanding, and the extra touches like fire kits and blankets for a beach bonfire made the experience truly special. Exceptional service all around! Will definitely be back.

Great place. Friendly staff. Fantastic amenities. Steps from the beach. The location is great, right near the food and shops.

My wife and I stayed for two nights at Hallmark Resort while visiting Cannon Beach. Reservations were easy to make online. Hallmark Resort offers a military discount. Resort parking is plentiful. Hallmark Resort welcomed us with complimentary fresh baked chocolate chips cookies. We chose the Oceanfront Queen room for out stay; room 142. Our room had amazing view and the sounds of the ocean at night was lovely. Ice machines and laundry machines are available to guests. Pedal bikes can be borrowed if one would like to zip around town. Chairs and firewood are available to take out onto the beach in the evening to enjoy a bonfire. Complimentary hot beverages are available in the lobby to help one warm up after walking the beach. Elements by the Sea Spa in onsite for a quick pampering session. Everyone, from staff to guests were friendly, happy and peaceful. Overall, Hallmark Resort is more expensive than other lodging areas but I felt every penny spent was worth our visit.

Great visit again to the Hallmark Resort. It has been many years since we were here, but I wanted to surprise my wife with the Hallmark stay as we had stayed at the Hallmark there years ago, before moving to Seattle. The room was perfect, punctuated by the acknowledgment by the staff of our anniversary. There was a nice card, a bottle with sand in it and the bubbly to share. It was a wonderful display of thoughtfulness. The room had a great deck overlooking the beach and Haystack Rock. It also had a nice fireplace and a very comfortable bed. While it is not inexpensive, the Hallmark has all of the amenities you would want. (and you will pay more anywhere in Cannon Beach because it is a special town. Thank you Hallmark for everything, we will be back, especially since we are back in the Portland area.

Can't beat the view from the hotel room

A very nice hotel to stay in Cannon Beach. The view is what you mainly pay for. Hotel staff were very nice and helpful when suggesting where to eat. We got the queen bed room with view, and it was spectacular being able to walk on the balcony and see haystack rock! The beach is within walking some downstairs, but not gonna lie- It looks very steep up and down. The hotel is at the top of a steep hill, and they also provide bikes for people to ride around with, but I can't imagine going back up the driveway lol They also have wood for purchase for bonfires at night, along with other snacks in a little gift shop area. They allow pets and even had a sign welcoming the pets who were staying there, kind of cute. There was a decent size pool with a couple of hot tubs and we had the whole place to ourselves for a night swim! Pool is not heated, but you have the hot tub to jump in afterwards. They also have a workout room and sauna too. Hotel would be perfect for a girls weekend, anniversary, birthday, or any kind of special occasion.

Incredible Resort to stay on Cannon Beach overlooking Haystack Rock and the Pacific Ocean. Customer service was great. The bed was very comfortable. The room was very nice and spacious in the view was from a fairytale. Many different rooms. We stayed in a room overlooking Haystack Rock and will definitely be coming back and staying here again. Rooming is a little pricy but you get what you pay for and more. The resort also gave us firewood and blankets to go, sit down on the beach around a fire, and it was memories we will have forever.

What we needed so bad. What a cool town. So much to do and visit. Mad props to McGregors down the street. Beautiful and relaxing place to reset.

We loved this stay. Walking distance from the cute town. Surrounded by beautiful scenery, and the views from this resort cannot be beat. 10/10

I have stayed at the Hallmark numerous times through the years, and thoroughly enjoyed my time there, especially my most recent visit. Not only is the hotel kept well, which is hard to do with the salt air and constant sand, but the rooms are clean and comfortable. The views are exceptional, especially from the ocean view rooms with decks. A series of stairs lead directly to the beach, with beach chairs available for guest use. They are also very dog friendly! Each of my dogs received a welcome bag with items for us to keep. They loved hanging out on the deck. I can't wait to come back!

oceanfront room has incredible views, friendly staff, we enjoyed the kitchen with nice size refrigerator.....can't wait to come back next year fireplace in the room is so nice and cozy

When it comes to places to stay on the Oregon coast you really can't beat Cannon Beach. They have great shops, good food and easily walkable coastline. While there may be fancier or cheaper places to stay you really can't beat the Hallmark for ocean views and easy access for those beach walks. The rooms are comfortable and they all have water views...like a real water views not a if you stand in the right spot and look out the window at the proper angle you might see a wave. Always our go to for a night or two at the beach.

To say we're "beach people" is an understatement. We live in NorCal and love our beaches! We've been wanting to visit Cannon Beach for quite some time and selected this hotel based on Trip Advisor, and of course, Yelp! I'm sitting here at the table of our spectacular ocean-front view of The Haystack and the breadth that the Pacific Ocean has to offer. When checking in, we were met with a delightful host at the front desk who was able to give us the complete run-down of all the hotel had to offer. With how vacation businesses are charging for every little think, we were delighted to learn that most of the amenities here were included with our visit! They have bikes to use Free laundry services Cookies every afternoon Coffee, hot chocolate, tea Pick up some games to take back to the room Decently-equipped kitchenettes (oven, stove, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, full-size fridge/freezer, dishwasher) Bonfire + Marshmallows at sunset Beach chairs I see other reviews of people complaining about it not being the "luxurious spa/resort" they were expecting, and I agree. However, looking for a quality get-away for a few days with the kids, it's absolutely perfect! Cute little 3-4 block downtown area as well with a better-than-average market, wine shops, antiques, crepe places, ice cream, clothing, couple of bars, and even a weed shop.

Personally feel like it's overpriced. You're paying for the view and that's about it.

Over priced. Uncomfortable beds, room needs a thorough cleaning. Broken glasses in kitchen. Used to be a nice place to stay.

Balcony has great views of Haystack and of the sunsets. Room was great with size and super clean! Location is just south of the main shops, but there's still restaurants, coffee, and a store around. We were able to get partial view of the ocean as well! It's probably just me but I always stress out when I book hotels that have carpeted rooms because people don't remove their dirty footwear. It's always so pleasant to spend my money on non-carpeted floors because I can clean the floor myself. With two toddlers in tow who love to touch, sit, and lay down in places they've never slept at before, this resort definitely helped relieve that stress! I really have nothing negative to say about this place. Upon checking in, we received two cans of beer, free of charge - not sure if that was because it was Thanksgivings weekend, or if it is some they they normally do - but that was a nice surprise to have. The rooms included dishes and utensils which was a bonus as well as a dustpan and broom for sweeping all the sand that comes in. The bed was comfortable and fit all four of us comfortably (we had a king-size bed). The bathtub was a bit odd just because there was a sliding window which when opened connected to the bedroom. Our kids had a hoot being in the bathtub while getting to watch tv at the same time - although there was also a tv in the bathroom. Location was absolutely perfect! A five minute walk to the beach! In addition, there were many restaurants to choose from in the area. We found it so convenient during dinner hours because when our toddlers were on the verge of meltdowns, we would get the check and walk to our rooms easily.

Close proximity to town and Insomnia Coffee [awesome coffee]. Cannon Beach is packed with people in the summer so it is hard to manuever through traffic, but if you happen to be coming from the north to the south on the 101 -- you can get off at Cannon's most northern exit and skip a lot of it. We liked Schooner's Inn as far as most amenities. One main issue is the malfunctioning toilet that did not flush properly at all. It was clean but it is very dated. And lastly, people should pay attention to the times posted for outside noise, as sound carries pretty loudly. We would stay there again.
