Horrible Experience and Customer Service - I asked the front desk if there was a Federal Express nearby, and she said, "Google it, I don't have time." The omelet maker at breakfast was rude. Never smiled and looked distressed during the entire process. The straw that broke the camel's back is that they charged me a Pet Fee for my SERVICE DOG, which is against the law. Worst hotel experience I've ever had. We travel to hotels probably about 10 months out of the 12 months a year for our kids sports, work for Fire training, leisure and military training. This was the worse customer service I've ever had. Mainly the MANAGER. The employees were actually sweet. THANK YOU for not being like your manager. So we arrived on a Friday for a one night stay and the lady at the desk asked if we wanted 1 or 2 nights. I said go ahead and just do 2 nights. I wasn't because I was mad already that the JACUZZI was broken and it's not stated anywhere on the website. So basically they had a new girl supposedly that booked me for 2 nights and the next morning while my kids were Napping they asked if we were checking out. I said "why would we be checking out". They said because you only booked 1 night. I said NO WE DID NOT. They lady left our room and they called me saying "you were told it was sold out". Not only did they screw up but the manager was extremely rude telling me what I was told when she wasn't even working the night before. I hate when businesses make mistakes and get mad at the customer. We spend A LOT OF MONEY traveling all year, every year. Worse Hotel Experience I ever had. Don't stay here unless it's the only hotel available. Bad customer service, broken jacuzzi, ants in the bathroom. Breakfast was decent. Pool small. I left my number for the regional manager but no phone call when h means their customers aren't a priority for them. Places like this get away with not caring because they know they will still get booked because most sports tournaments are here in yakima. Explains why most other hotels were Sold Out first because I'm sure most don't want to stay at this hotel. My son was late to his football tournament because we had to pack up our room and check out since they over sold. Literally screwed up our entire day and hey didn't care. Front desk clerk was rude. He almost laughed when he told me my room was right by the 2nd floor elevator. Hell, the doors almost touch! The noise of people getting on and off the elevator with their huge bags kept me up. The next door toilet was right next to the head of the bed and loud too. The room was also the tiniest hotel room I've ever stayed in. No info about breakfast provided either. A decent place to spend the night that's clean. Kind of a desolate area on the north side of town and there's RV park literally next door. Any closer and I could have stepped on the roof of an RV from my window. It wasn't noisy or anything, just didn't expect to see it from the room. The room was clean. Bed was ok, sheets a little rough and well, hotel pillows just seem to suck anywhere. To me, the elevator seemed to smell a bit like a BBQ smoke house. Maybe a combination of something and the wildfire smoke? The breakfast was open and pretty decent. Eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy (really good) and bagles and waffles. No toast, but that's probably due to covid restrictions. Given that, it was pretty all right. My only complaint, if the place isn't full, don't fill the room above someone. We booked and paid online for a double queen but upon arriving one hour prior to us arriving they said there was a "mistake" and they converted us to a single king with a pullout. I already knew that this "mistake" was someone else complaining. We were 4 people traveling over night. We put the lightest people on the pullout couch. We tried take pullout but even just the two of me and my daughter we sank in the pullout. It's basically a non functioning pullout with 3 inch mattress. Didn't get any sleep and now I have back pain. I was very pleased to find that this place is up to the standards of Best Western Plus, three-diamond amenities and service in a budget-conscious chain. The rm. had many more amenities than what you'd expect for the price (a little more than $100 rate is about the least expensive you can get for a good rm. these days). There's a rm. where you can use the Internet, a laundry rm., luggage carts, elevator, vending machines, interior corridors. There is a breakfast rm. but I cook my own breakfast, so I was pleased w/ the microwave and frig in my rm. People were concerned that I was staying in Yakima, which has a sketchy rep but I saw none of that. (In contrast the Best Western Plus in nearby Union Gap, it looks like a truck stop--but this location doesn't.) My one "con" is that I wish they'd fix the lobby doors--they need to be pulled on HARD because their mechanism is in need of repair (staff admits this). That's hard to do when you've got your hands full of luggage. read more

Update to previous review. We have been coming here for years. It just keeps going down hill. We've stayed here many times since my last/first review. Last visit was last week. If you have a choice, stay somewhere else. My husband likes this place due to it being close to where we need to be. But not my choice. 1) walked in to see if we can get early check in (1.5 hours). Gal at desk just stared at me and pecked at her computer. Never gave me any type of acknowledgement. After about 2 minutes of awkward silence of her pecking away and just staring at me, I realized she had a caller on hold on the phone because she finally picked up the phone to talk to someone. After she was done, again she just stared at me, no "how can I help you" or anything. We weren't able to check in early, but that wasn't a big deal. But at least be nice about it. She just plain told us the rooms were not ready. She didn't even get our name or the type of room we wanted to look. If you didn't want to check me in early, just say so, I get it. 2) we came back at check in time, a different gal was at desk thankfully. We got to the room (coincidentally the same one from a few months ago). The key card would not activate the door since the handle was broken/hanging loose. Guess what? it was halfway there when we were there the last time and apparently they still hadn't fixed it. She said she'll put in a work order (they didn't several months ago??) At least she was apologetic and nice and we did get a different room. 3) the hot tub was not working. No where on their website does it say that. Besides location, this was one of the other reasons why my husband likes this hotel. The couple checking ahead of us, I overheard their conversation, they requested to cancel their 2nd night at the hotel because they expected the hot tub. As mentions, we were here a few months ago, did not use the hot tub so not sure if it was working or not, but I believe I saw another review that said it was already down back in February (it's now June). I noticed later that there was at least 2 families with kids, I don't know if the pool was accessible (the room was no lit), so hope they weren't disappointed either. 4) ask for an even numbered room. for some reason we keep getting the odd number ones (and I forget each time), that the odd ones face the back. Your view is the mobile home park. 5) this place is about 1-2 blocks from the Union Gospel Mission. Not necessarily in front of the hotel, but down the street you will see tons of homeless people (we saw at least 20, and I think that is way down playing the numbers). Another reason for this not to be my choice. 6) oh, and their handicap button to push to open the front door doesn't work. The front door even for an able bodied person as myself found it hard to pull open. So hopefully someone else will open the door for a handicapped person. But other than the above, the room itself was decent and clean. We did not have the breakfast in the morning so I could not tell you about the food. But I did take a peek and it was your basic eggs, bacon, waffle maker, coffee, juice, yogurt. read more

Ok... Best Western must have hired a consultant because this place is great. Big rooms, big tv, great climate control, great water pressure, fast internet, clean, updated to interiors, great lobby, the products they leave in the rooms are fantastic, personnel are friendly and professional... there is not more I can say. Whether it business (like I'm on) or personal - you'll be happy. The breakfast is has many choices too. You'll be well fed in the mornings. The only thing that sucks is the coffee. I satay all over the NW in more cities/towns then I can count... and 90% of them have that really crappy powdered coffee machines. In the morning we all need coffee... why oh why does it have to be powdered coffee?! If you tried to give the coffee away at a homeless camp or just on the street to passers by... 99.9% of the people would hate it. Please make real coffee in the future... please... Overall this place is the bee's knees. Oh yeah (!) great business center: updated computers, xerox and printer, and turbo fast connection. Pros: - Good size -Clean rooms - Polite staff - Pool - Free breakfast with waffles etc and friendly staff - Convenient location off the freeway when traveling through - Free WiFi (the only reliable WiFi on our entire trip thus far, after many hotels with no or bad connections) Cons: - Oh dear god, what possessed Best Western to buy a hotel that is practically on top of a trailer park and in a gang ridden area that is plain dangerous, where nobody walks outside, near a "historic downtown" where every single store was closed due to crime. (Nice new mall building, but EVERYTHING advertised in even 2011 Yakima guides, wine bars, and so on, they were ALL closed. The only thing open still downtown was a stationary store next to the Hilton. That's it. I'm dead serious.) I literally recoiled in horror when I pulled open the curtains of our room. When I say the room looked out over a trailer park, I don't mean "in the distance", or "across the street". I mean: If you open the window and stick out your arm, you can touch the trailers ... (Check out the picture I uploaded if you don't believe me) So while the inside was fine, the surroundings really make this Best Western kind of a blight on the chain's good reputation. I would NEVER stay here again, if not in the least because Yakima is a crime ridden hellhole with absolutely nothing to offer but brochures full of lies. read more

I was sent on another business trip to Yakima, and after having a good experience with Best Western in Wenatchee, I decided to make my reservation at this location (which is now branded as a Best Western Plus Lincoln Inn). Check-in was very easy and friendly; all I needed to do was confirm my ID and let them know which car parked outside was mine. The building has an elevator, which made it easy to get everything up to my second-floor room. The room was quite nice--I appreciated the sitting area with the loveseat, and the nice desk for business travelers. I was sent some last minute documents and needed to use their business center for printing, and the desk clerk was very helpful for that as well, even bringing extra paper for the complimentary printer. Wi-Fi worked well, and most importantly the bed was comfortable. The next morning, the breakfast buffet was well-stocked and quite satisfactory for a complimentary. The decor may have seemed a little dated, the only [working] ice machine was on the first floor, and yes, the view from the back side of the building is of the neighboring "Trailer Inn" RV park. Also, I put some drinks in the room's fridge and they were frozen solid the next morning; I didn't see a way to adjust the temperature, either. It's possible these small negatives might be bigger issues to a different type of traveler, but for me, they had everything I needed, without making me pay for a bunch of stuff I really didn't. I'll stay again the next time I have a Yakima trip. read more

I was a little nervous booking a room here because I had heard this was the bad part of town but I have had good luck with BW in other towns so decided to give it a shot. We arrived at 9:30 at night to a very well lit parking lot and very friendly staff. Last room available in the middle of the week. Our room faced the front of the hotel which I advise requesting if you can based on people's comments about the trailer park at the back. We unexpectedly had to stay a second night and the first room was already booked out but they were able to get another room ready before our checkout time so move was seamless. Quiet, clean and comfortable rooms. Close to freeway. Daughter loved playing in the pool. read more

The price was very reasonable, the staff incredibly friendly and helpful, room service was 100%, super clean, safe, beautiful pool and courtyard too. Delicious hot breakfast included! The only negative is the somewhat rundown neighborhood with what looked like an occasional homeless and / or drug addicted person. I stayed here in spring of 2021, it was overall a great stay. Everything that the hotel could do they did, rooms were extremely clean and comfortable. The rooms were relatively spacious and quiet. The only reason this hotel does gets five stars from me is because of the area, all of Yakima has become infiltrated with a homeless community but this area seems to be a little more heavily populated with them. No offer to take it to my room for me. Unclean bathroom. Soap from previous tenant left in shower, shoe prints on floor that I easily cleaned off with a wet Kleenex, hair left on wall of shower. No clock in breakfast area or pool. No dip in sidewalk outside hotel. Makes it difficult to maneuver a rolling bag with two other bags attached to it while walking to your car with 2 kids under 4. Location leaves a lot to be desired. I did not realize I was completely on the western edge of Yakima. Parking lot had the lighting of a car lot which makes me wonder about the safety situation. I was on the back side of the hotel, but could still hear traffic on 1st over the white noise in our room. read more

As with ever other BW we've been to, the staff is friendly and the rooms are nice. Never an issue. They allow pets and had a pack n play for my littlest tango. My only complaint would be the ice in the parking lot cause I almost threw my back out when I slipped getting out of the car. I came in at 2:30 AM with no reservation in the morning and Marcia had a smile on her face. We talked about her daughter and her husbands while she checked me in. She made me feel very welcome. Another party that did have a reservation came in and she got both of us checked in really quickly. Marcia's service was some of the best I've ever had. My room was nice and clean. My 4 pillows propped up and the giant roll pillow made me feel like it was a royal suite! If I ever needed a place to come at 2:30 in the morning again I hope Marcia is on duty!! read more

The staff here is AMAZINGLY friendly, from the front desk to the cleaning staff... odd how they remembered me after one stay and on my second stay they remembered me and welcomed me back as an old friend. The regular people working the front desk, Dave and Dusty in particular need a shout out because they rock and helped in many ways, from room placement to location of local points of interest. The breakfast bar they have is really a bonus 9 out of 10 times I went for breakfast it was stocked and hot, and that 1 out of 10th time was kinda my fault for waiting till 8:30 and EVERYONE in the whole hotel is in there. Sure it's not in a good part of town, and it overlooks a trailer park but it's a hotel, your going to sleep there and drive away to do stuff. I'd go back there on my next trip to Yakima... not sure why I would go back to Yakima though, but if I do I know where I'll sleep. read more

Great service, good complimentary breakfast, and nice touches such as drinks offered to us when we checked in, and cookies available in the evenings. There are some comments on here about the neighborhood. This hotel is down the street from a Union Gospel Mission. I don't think that it's location near a place that is reaching out to help the homeless should bring it down a notch. We had no issues in regards to this. I also read a few negative comments about this hotel backing up to a trailer park. There is a park behind the hotel and it obviously clean and well maintained. I didn't expect an amazing view so close to the freeway, so I am not sure why that would be a deterrent to staying here. The location for this hotel was very central to the areas we needed to reach in Yakima. Right off the freeway. Would definitely stay here again! read more

I stayed here along my journey to all 4 corners of America raising awareness for veterans with PTSD. This place was absolutely amazing and beautiful! The rooms were so clean I almost thought it was a new room! The staff was so nice and helpful and made sure I had everything I needed. We come to Yakima twice a year for baseball tournaments and we've never been truly impressed with anywhere we've stayed. But of our many trips, this has been by far the cleanest (bar was set pretty low though), rooms were perfect sized for our family, good food for continental breakfast, and indoor pool was small but fun for kids in the winter (or early spring). The only negative is the neighborhood. We kept our car parked in front where it was well lit. Overall a very positive experience! read more

Great stay. Friendly staff. Cookies in the evening and a great breakfast in the morning. I little high priced but I figured the breakfast would compensate the difference. My only complaint is that it's not in the best part of town (ex: homeless sleeping on the sidewalk) and they let someone come in and use the main floor bathroom to shower. My kids got out of the pool to use the bathroom and waited 10 min, knocking multiple times. She came out with her 3 backpacks, wet hair which made me realize she bathed in there. That and the fact that there was water everywhere. Say her again leaving the front door saying thank you to the front desk. I get being compassionate but not at the risk of the safety of my children. The staff was extraordinarily friendly which made up for the fact that this hotel is in a less than desirable location. You can either look at the transients waiting on the bus or a trailer park. The hotel is also very outdated. For the price I expected better furnishings. With that being said, our room was larger than normal and other than a few stomps from the teenagers above us, we had a great nights sleep. Would stay there again if we had to be in Yakima again..
