My small suite was quiet, and the balcony overlooking the river was a nice place to sit. I liked the amenities of the suite. Balcony, river view, desk/seating area, bed/sink area, TV in each suite side, and a bathroom where the door swung to slightly ajar by default. Layout wise, I didn't like how the TV was back behind the desk. I like to watch a show while eating breakfast and checking email to start the day. Bed and pillows were comfortable, which helped me feel refreshed for the next day. My co-worker and I arrived early and our rooms were not ready. That's fine, but there is no real business center for us to set up and do a couple hours of work on our laptops while we waited. Plenty of greeting room-type seating and knee-level tables, but nothing really functional. We would have had to rent a business space to get an outlet and a reasonably ergonomic table. The evening reception was very basic but nice experience. The breakfast was basic (scrambled eggs, potatoes, and a meat) with a few other things - but very salty. It is plated for you, so it takes something away from the buffet style of getting what you want. My co-worker, on the other hand, had a very unpleasant experience in a room that smelled like dirty dog trying to be covered by strong chemicals. He suffered through it because it was only one night. read more

When we arrived at 8p with our toddler to check in, the room was filled with smoke/ as though the last occupant was surely lighting up during their stay. We could hardly breath. The lobby was dirty and outdated. Parking is along a busy roadway with little to no lighting. Receptionist was chatting with her friends for a good five minutes before we were greeted. Luckily they refunded us and we spent slightly more elsewhere in town for a clean and safe stay at Hotel Maison. This hotel definitely needs some updating, staff training and deep cleaning! Update: this review is not in error- we experienced a very different lighting situation than management is reporting. Also, yes the hotel is absolutely "smoke free" which is why we were so surprised that the room we walked into was filled with the after effects of cigarette smoke. Outstanding! Before I go into any detail, the place is immaculately clean. We LOVED the pocket doors to separate the living room from the bedroom so I could watch some TV while my husband slept. The complimentary breakfast wasn't fancy but it was delicious and the staff was very friendly. Oh, and the coffee was really fresh. The bed was incredibly comfortable and we enjoyed a terrific night's sleep. And we loved the Juliet balcony overlooking the Yakima River. Will DEFINITELY stay here again. read more

I didn't expect Four Seasons style, but considering I paid more than $400 for only two nights, it was pretty bad. The first room I checked in to had an unmade bed. I thought I was seeing things when I walked in. Makes you wonder if they're cleaning? Maybe an oversight. They gave me another room and it was fine, but as soon as I opened the door to check out the river, I had cigarette smoke wafting into the room. That ended up happening the entire weekend as several guests smoked outside my window all weekend, while also drinking and yelling at each other. At one point one was passed out in some gravel under my window, on the ground, face down with a beer in his hand. Classy! So I had to keep the deck door closed the entire time to avoid cigarette smoke and yelling. But what really took the cake was the wild sex I had to listen to for over an hour Saturday night as the bed slammed into my ceiling. I put up with it for about a half hour before slamming my hand against the wall. Guess someone else had a better weekend than I did. On Friday night around midnight, I also had to step out into the hall and tell a teenage girl to stop running up and down the hallway. Where ARE YOUR PARENTS?? The hotel is SO noisy. If you stay, I recommend asking for an end unit on the top floor. Maybe it's quieter. But wow, between the noise, the drunks, the constant smoking and the lack of housekeeping I would NOT recommend it. The staff was nice. That's why I gave em two stars. Also, I see management saying it's smoke free...maybe in signage, but not in reality. They don't enforce smoking off property. read more

Stayed here on 6/28/2021 to avoid the heat (hitting around 109 degrees). When we stayed, we had plenty of parking spots open and the lobby seemed pretty nice. The front desk was polite and it was an easy check-in. The room itself seemed clean, the fridge was pretty big, but most importantly, the AC was COLD. Almost to the point where it was too cold. It was AMAZING. We had a spot with a balcony on the river and it was all great for around $144/night. Breakfast was also included with that price with many options. The breakfast sandwiches were pretty good, but they also had muffins, yogurt, coffee, and other items. It was nice to be able to go through a walk around the river and there is a pool which needs reservations. We didn't get to try out any amenities, so I can't comment on those. Overall, no negative feedback for our stay, which is why I am leaving 5 stars. Would definitely stay here again if needed. read more

My wife and I have stayed here when we visited our daughter, who has now moved to another town. With this last visit, the mattress was too soft to the point it was very uncomfortable, no back support at all. The bathtub in every room we've stayed has always felt titled. Both my wife and I have issues with balance when we're shampooing our hair or washing with our eyes closed, We've never had this issue with anyplace else we've stayed. Also, the patio sliding screen door was stuck. My wife wasn't able to open it; I had to force it open. This is an inexcusable lapse in maintenance. I reported it at checkout. Parking is ridiculous here. Arrive in the evening and good luck finding a parking space without having to walk. The lot is smallish and crowded.. Every time we've arrived near 10 pm I've never felt totally safe walking that far to the front lobby. Breakfast was also an issue--for my wife. Standing in front of me with her plate, she gave her order to the server. Unfortunately, my wife didn't put her breakfast ticket it the jar first. The server, apparently thinking my wife was a possible freeloader, gave her a small serving of scrambled eggs. My wife put her ticket in after she was served. I was standing right behind my wife, put my ticket in the jar first and was given a serving far larger than what my wife received. My wife's treatment was unacceptable, but she didn't want to make it an issue. We checked out of our room after breakfast anyway, and it's not likely we'll stay at this hotel again. read more

I recently stayed at the Oxford Suites for a family wedding. Check-in could not have been a bigger disaster. Front desk staff at this hotel are completely incompetent. Payment for the room (and several other rooms) was prearranged by a family member, who was paying for the rooms. The front desk staff demanded that I produce a credit card, which I didn't have. I had to call the family member that was paying for the rooms to drive down to this hotel to produce the credit card before they would give me a key to my room. I ended up standing around in the lobby waiting for my family member to arrive. This was all supposed to have been prearranged. I should not have experienced stress, or have to call anyone, to get a key to my paid for room. I would never stay at this hotel again, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. read more

Like a wanna be three star hotel...not well "remodeled" at all. Watered down shampoo & conditioner. No Fan in the bathroom. Towels are really small! Bed was lumpy and clearly old. Great view, though. The bartender, Janice, was extraordinarily rude to the chef, right in front of me and another customer. I tipped him $20 on the side directly to him - he made a fantastic hamburger and cared enough to ask me about it, and for some reason she took offense to it. We stayed in Oxford Suites for seven days during a relocation to the Yakima area, which meant my wife and I were sharing the hotel room with our two very confused dogs. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. When one of our dogs--very stressed from the move--started barking a lot and disturbing other guests, the staff worked with us to find a solution that let the other guests have their quiet without having to kick us out (they found another room for us on the ground floor so we could take the dog out right away when he got noisy). I only put one star because there was no option for a negative review. I came to Yakama for my son's AAU tournament and even though the rooms were small, the TV was small and the hallways were noisy with kids running up and down the hallways at 9pm with no consequences. I was patient enough and stayed knowing there was a tournament in town. The second night I was charged 285 because I was smoking in my room(in the process of disputing this)I do not smoke at all and not only that my child was in the room with me. I spoke with the front desk and she was extremely rude about the situation and totally disregard me. They are a bunch of crooks and I will not be staying at any oxford again. I travel a lot with my kid and never once has anything like this has ever happened. read more

Had to put one star in order to post a review otherwise I'd consider this 0 star rating... I went to the hotel in hopes of getting a room and just booking it in person. I was in the area visiting family and wanted to just drop by because it was a convenient location . I asked the woman at the front desk what rooms are available and the rates. She told me it's 135$ and I just asked "do you have anything less expensive? Not suggesting I couldn't afford the 135$ but just out of innocent curiosity. She looks at her coworker and says "She wants a "cheap" hotel room" I decided It was time to leave and check out other options because that was extremely unprofessional and rude. I'm happy paying 135$ if the hotel is respectful and is not criticizing thier potential guests. They need to lose the old woman with a chip on her shoulder and no respect for guests. read more

Having just stayed at The Ritz the week prior visiting this place, I would not imagine I would love this place, but I did! I chose this place because I was taking my dogs on the trip with me and this place had stellar review when it comes to being dog friendly, and they were right! First upon arrival, they gifted each of my dogs a portable water bowl that's great quality along with a hook that you can hook onto your leash. the bowls also came with poop bags and treats. So super sweet. Back of the hotel is Yakima Greenway which is amazing for walking dogs next to the river. I had a great view of the river on the 3rd floor which I paid for a premium suite with a view so it's on the 3rd floor. But the front desk lady told me they usually put guests with dogs on the first floor with access directly from the backdoor to the lawn so dogs can go potty easy. I will definitely book those rooms if I am bringing my dogs next time coz it is a hassle to go up and down every time to take them to potty. Breakfast and evening receptions are AWESOME! Breakfast has good varieties of food and although it's not anything fancy, it's a lot better than your regular hotel breakfast at this price. I was pleasantly surprised. Eggs were actually good! I was there 3 days 2 nights. I was so filled up on breakfast and evening reception I didn't need to go to any other restaurants for meals! You also get 2 vouchers each day for alcoholic beverages which was really nice. Overall a great hotel for guests bringing their pets. I will come back again! read more

odd this hotel is #1 on trip advisor. my stay was unremarkable in every way- -building and decor v average. -check in was basic, no warmth, no expert tips on places in town, unaware of the door he sent me to at end of the building was locked. -breakfast was what the poms call "bog standard". Harried cook and kitchen staff were smiling and doing the best they could. -asked for room to be cleaned. It was not. -did not try the lounge, restaurant or pool. -little balcony overlooking the river and walking path was a pleasant surprise. -$145/night. Should have been 1/2 that. read more

The Oxford Suites are a good place to stay in Yakima. The rooms are clean and up to date. A few nice amenities: 2 drinks (beer or wine) during the evening reception. They serve light food (can be good - meatballs or not as good- fishsticks). In the mornings they feed you breakfast which is ok. Hot food: eggs, breakfast meat, and one rotating dish. I ate a sandwich here one afternoon with a side of fries and was totally impressed with the quality I received in the hotel lobby restaurant. The server although was extremely busy and have the entire dining room to himself, was able to get outstanding service to all the entered in and set proper expectations as to when food will be ready. I received my sandwich and it was ordered hot and it came to me at the perfect temperature everything freshly prepared as I had expected. The only surprise was a pleasant one! When I receive my billI was given a discount for any of the inconveniences I had while waiting. Not sure why this facility got such high reviews, unless it is sadly indicative of what else is available in Yakima. While it is easy to find, and is up against the river walk, it seemed kind of pricey for mediocre hotel. Place kind of shows its age - poor seal around the door (showed light through), cracked tile in the bathroom... I am sure it is quiet on some weekends, but seems we were there for the (regular) high school girls volley ball tournament and hotel hallway wind sprints competition. Forget using the pool or hot tub when these events are on. The Sasquatch family in the room next door were able to do their nocturnal roaming's while only slightly delayed by those pesky doors they had to keep opening/closing/slamming/kicking in. So if you like a lot of noise and activity, this is the place for you. Brighter note was a great breakfast with great staff and a nice bar, although bereft of hard alcohol at this point. Bartender tried super hard to be helpful. Front desk staff were nice and accommodating. Not super nice, but not a bad place to stay. read more

Overall a decent place. When we pulled in to the hotel, I was a bit skeptical. After being checked in VERY quickly and spoken to very fast, we found our room on the third floor. After a couple tries with the punch card keys (not electronic as they tell you at the front desk) we opened the door, and were immediately struck by a terrific view of the Yakima River. I was very pleasantly surprised, it is right there, and there's a small little patio to enjoy the view. The room was good. Some dated decor, but spacious. We had a king suite with two separate areas, a living area with mini sectional, and sleeping area with king bed. Both living and sleeping areas have their own TV and can be closed off by a pocket door. Bathroom is a little tight and dated. Everything was very clean. The free breakfast was good (I'm used to the standard boring continental). They have a lot to choose from and they have someone plating up the hot food for you (its buffet style). Make sure to get your tickets for the next morning. Housekeepers did show up a little too early each day and you need the breakfast tickets for the next day that they have so you feel compelled to answer. Staff wasn't the friendliest, didn't even say thank you to our friend when he checked out. There were different high school sports teams staying at the hotel at the same time, and so I expect that they often have them as guests. We were fortunate all of our neighbors were quiet after 11pm. We stayed here as a home base for the wineries as far away as Benton City, Prosser, and Zillah. When we go back to the area for more wine, we will probably upgrade to a different place, but we will keep Oxford Suites in mind for a soon-to-come trip to Redding, CA where they have a location. read more

We used to like staying at the Oxford Suites a lot - until last weekend. It seemed like 100 elementary school age baseball players and their parents took over the lobby, the dining area and the pool. It was crowded and noisy wherever you went. Small groups of kids ran up and down the hallways. I'm not willing to pay full price if it's going to be crowded, noisy and unpleasant. In fact, I don't wanna be there at all. And since I can't know in advance if it's going to be quiet or like it was last weekend, my only option is to stay somewhere else. Lotion/shampoo/conditioner brand is terrible. Some people smoke on their balcony patios, which allows the smell to creep into open balcony windows. Ick. This is an older hotel, but is in a safe, convenient location in Terrace Heights. It was probably remodeled about five years ago. They offer complimentary breakfast (eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, etc.) and two small drinks per night. The staff are fairly friendly and the rooms are clean. It is on the Yakima river and rooms have balconies. The beds are comfortable, but squeak when anyone moves. Overall, it is a good deal. read more

Not bad, at all. Every room has a balcony/patio,overlooking the river walking path, which makes it a lovely place to stay. The staff is friendly and the rooms are clean. There's an included breakfast and happy hour, which is nice and the rooms are clean. There are mini-fridges and microwaves in each room, too. So what's wrong, you may ask? Well...I heard every peep that my neighbors on all sides made. Yes, everyone else is right, it's loud- but then again, most hotels are...The person above me may well be an elephant, I'm not sure- but he/she sure sounds like one! Would I stay here again, yes. I've stayed at a few hotels in the area and so far, this is the best. The river-view balcony and walking path access has a lot to do with it, but the service is great and it's very conveniently located. read more

Great place to stay for the night! Dog friendly which is a HUGE plus. We had a late check in and they were more than accommodating. We even got a free beer/wine upon arrival! Lovely view of the Yakima River out of our window/balcony. Very accessible to downtown Yakima and convenient off of the freeway. Had a good continental breakfast in the morning with hot food as well as cereals and pastries etc. Only complaint was the noise from the hallway.
