One of the best lodgings at this price-point in our extensive U.S. and international travels. From the adept desk-clerk upon arrival who assured me Booking.com's was the best rate and seeing that we had a room that was amazingly and surprisingly QUIET to the desk/breakfast room attendants the next morning who both came to our room to show how the shower stem worked AND went for more hot-sauce packets so that we could truly ENJOY the breakfast burritos, it was PERFECT. Ignore those reviews that harbor fear! I walked for an hour before breakfast and despite the outskirts-of-town nature of the area felt safe (it's a CITY; keep your wits about you and be CORDIAL to strangers). Although it's ok we moved on for our 2nd night I was a tad disappointed we couldn't extend our stay thru Saturday night as they were fully booked. We spent $100 more last night and the only (unused by us) "plus" seems to be that they have an indoor pool. Would stay at the Hotel Y again without ANY qualms. read more

The walls are paper thin. The kid in the room took advantage of the rolling chair from 7 an until 11 pm. There also seemed to be vacuuming by the staff after 8pm. You could hear voices above and next door. The towels were small and paper thin. We had to turn the heat way up because there wasn't enough blankets. My husband and I traveled from Spokane to Yakima for Mt. Rainier for our anniversary. I looked around for hotels and lodges everywhere and saw that the Hotel Y had good reviews, cheap prices compared to the other hotels and was close to Mt. Rainier about 1.5 hours away. No bed bugs, no roaches (my husband used to work apartment maintenance and knows when there's a roach infestation), and the outside and pool were nice. The pool was slightly heated and very clean. The beds were a bit hard but my husband and I prefer a softer bed. Nice pillows. The shower was a bit outdated but still clean. The floors were not as clean. My ring fell behind one of the bedside tables and it was pretty gross back there. A few spiders in the corners. Overall clean for a motel looking hotel. And cheap enough for us to stay the night in. The pool is probably the best feature they have. I'd recommend staying at the hotel at night. It's kinda sketchy around the hotel. read more

If your looking for a place To stay without hot water this is the place for u! We were there for 2 nights without hot water and nothing was done to resolve the issue. We were told that maintenance said the tanks were hot... ok so? Cleaning services were not provided during the stay. We had to go through n search of extra towels and empty garbage On our own. Also there was an interesting group below us that appeared to live at the hotel. One man spent a lot of time smoking something in his car and pacing around the doorway. A little unsettling. We really enjoyed our stay here. We traveled with 4 adults and got a queen double bed room. The space was big and fit us all comfortably where it didn't feel like we were walking on top of each other. The pool was very clean and the staff is the absolute best. This hotel is beautiful. It looks brand new inside and out. I forgot her name but the woman that answered my call and checked us in was an absolute angel! The rooms were so clean and the breakfast had a big variety. Best hotel breakfast I've had. The only thing was that I couldn't get the gate open to the dog area. I would like to give this hotel a really big hand clap. Im not sure what the situation was like before the remodel. But, whoever made the executive decision to do it deserves a grand review. We checked in around 5p on a Friday and were welcomed on the property by maintenance and the manager on duty who helped with a quick check in. The parking lot was clean, open and spacious. There's plenty of parking and extremely well let in the evenings. No homeless stragglers, yet! I say yet, because the properties along the main road are pretty low end and run down. It's hard to navigate where to turn in if you're not familiar with the area and there's construction cones. We came back from dinner in the evening and turning in from the opposite direction was unfamiliar but we made it work. We walked into an extremely well decorated and very clean room. There were two queen beds that were really comfortable and plenty of pillows. There's a separate vanity area and bathroom. The light switch set up is on the outside of the door so that was weird and I wouldve like a few more hooks to hang towels. But, thats personal preference. The towel thread count was bomb! Kudos on that, guys! We really were impressed with that. There was an adjoining door in the room, but no issues because I dont think there were visitors occupying the room. There's a really interesting door safety feature I have never seen before. But, I assume its to prevent someone from kicking in the door?! I mean...given the area, I approve. There were absolutely no safety issues whatsoever. There's free ice, a pool and free breakfast as a bonus! read more

I would LOVE to give a higher rating because the place is super cute, clean and a great value BUT if you get a downstairs room, you are completely screwed. They did not carpet the upstairs rooms so you can hear EVERY SINGLE SOUND. For two nights in a row, we had to endure the sounds of a rolling office chair and pacing feet above us at 3 am. BRUTAL. I was a bit nervous about staying here as there was only one review, but that review was glowing so I decided to give it a chance. I always look for value in lodging. I mainly look for cleanliness and a comfortable bed. The Hotel Y has both of those. The room also had a decent sized tub, plenty of soft towels, and quality soap and shampoo. I appreciated the good air conditioner/heater with a fan that runs all the time when it's on to keep air circulating though I wished for a ceiling fan. I did not partake of the breakfast, but I was grateful for the Keurig and Starbucks coffee provided in the room. I also appreciated the vent fan in the bathroom, something in almost every home, but in few hotel rooms. There were also plenty of outlets and USB charging ports. There were also plenty of bright lights, including nifty bedside reading lamps. All of the staff I dealt with were courteous and a pleasure top deal with. This is a very good hotel. The stay is very pleasant. Our room was clean. All the staff is very friendly and courteous.

First of all, this is a motel, not a hotel. I stayed in a standard king room. It was very quiet and I felt safe despite some appearance of sketchiness in the surrounding neighborhood. The room has been recently renovated with comfort and convenience in mind. There are plenty of light fixtures and places to charge your devices. WiFi works well although you do have to sign on each time. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean. I am not a fan of Keurig coffee, but the machine in my room worked well and restored me to humanity sufficiently to be ably to walk to the lobby for breakfast, which consisted mostly of the typical packaged, processed foods you see in the chain hotels. I decided to pass and instead eat my leftovers from dinner. They do have a microwave in the lobby (not in the rooms). I would definitely return if I passed through Yakima again. If traveling with my husband I would probably upgrade to a larger room. read more

Stayed there two nights and were very pleased. It was clean and comfortable The people were exceptionally kind and helpful. Breakfast options were fine and there were cookies and free water available in the lobby. The pool looked nice (didn't try it). It's fun to stay in a non-chain place with more interesting decor. If you're on a road trip, it's a great location near a freeway interchange, yet not at all noisy. read more

Truth be told, this is a motel. We came for a softball tournament. Selected this hotel specifically for the outdoor pool and the kitchenette. We got neither. People checking in were surprised to hear that the pool is being renovated and might be done by... the end of summer. We came an hour before check in and our room was ready, we went to get some lunch, came back and there were no rooms available. Told to wait 10 minutes for housekeeping which was actually 30 minutes and they were still working on it when we finally checked in. The booking said it slept four and I did ask for three keys at the front desk and told them there are three of us. The room was actually a king bed and no place for a roll away. Ended up trading our suite for a double queen and told they would charge the same price for the mistake. Last I checked a suite to a double queen is a step down, especially since we are now down a kitchen and a pool. With 30 minutes to get to the softball field we are settling for a tiny room to sleep. I really wanted to like this place and there were good parts. Egnacio greeted us warmly upon arrival and subsequently that evening when we went to ask for an extra key. Incredibly friendly both times and happy to help. The breakfast was above bar for quick hotel fare with breakfast burritos that didn't disappoint. Additionally, the updates to the motel (it is a motel despite the name) are nice. Not over the top and you can still tell that this is an old motel but they paid attention to details like usb chargers everywhere and nice hardware. The pool was wonderful, in the sun - and the kids enjoyed the 7' 'deep end'. The beds are very comfortable with nice linen and comfortable pillows. Unfortunately the bad outweighed the good. We had two rooms, one for the kids (3) and one for us. The kids room was great, our room had a smell that was a combination of smoke and old that couldn't be overcome without having the window open all the way and the fan on high. Despite the fan, the noise from the road and shouts from the street were enough to keep me awake most of the night. We asked to move rooms after the first night and we're told they were booked. We stayed three nights and our room wasn't cleaned once. No towels, no made bed, nada. We had next to no hot water. Warm at best with multiple shouts from the bathrooms as the cold water ebbed and flowed. The location is not good. Nothing within walking distance and walking in this neighborhood was not something I would encourage as there are many people on the area with mental health needs and/or addiction problems. If you are by yourself and just need a place for a night, give it a go. We definitely could have had a string of bad luck during our stay but it was enough that we will book elsewhere next year. read more

Stayed here last week and was overall pleased with the facility. It's a remodeled motel conveniently located off the interstate. The area it's located in is a little shady, but didn't have any issues with crime or anything. The rooms are nice and the bed was comfortable. The room was clean with exception of the floors. Bare feet or white socks immediately revealed that the floors are not regularly mopped. Housekeeping could use some improvement. I will most likely stay here again when in the area. read more

The hotel was very nice! Newly remodeled which i loved. I really liked that they have king beds, much better than queen beds in other hotels! The pool looked good, but it was closed :/ I wish we would have been notified that the pool would be closed, but it seems like many hotels in Yakima with pools were not filled not sure why but would have been nice to know. I have no complaints the hotel was clean and quiet and definitely one of the better hotels in the area. Only thing I would say is i wish they had a microwave in the rooms but they don't. Breakfast was good and had various options. I would definitely recommend this hotel 9/10! read more

I paid for 2 nights, but upon arrival, there were feces in the toilet. Clearly, they bathroom had not been cleaned. I decided for safety reasons, I would move my kids and I to a different Hotel. The manager spoke to me on speaker phone and said I could have a refund but not until Monday when she was back. On Monday they refused to refund my money. I emailed them with no response. Apparently, they find this acceptable and refused to make it right. I would never consider staying here again. read more

This hotel is a hidden gem. It's a new hotel. It just recently opened. It has a contemporary southern feel. The office staff Yadira was a great help and the office manager Danielle. They both had great customer service and offered warm friendly greetings. The rooms are very nice and clean for the price. They offer a nice complimentary breakfast in the morning. I will definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Yakima. read more
