When I expressed my concerns for this, I was assured it would probably be around ~$600-$800 for the alterations (they don't have an in house seamstress). I've now gotten multiple quotes for over $1,200 with the changes I need. I wish the Fab Frocks team was more knowledgeable about how much alterations actually might actually cost because now I am paying 60% of my dress price in alterations. Not to mention the "off the rack" dress is actually not discounted at all and I should've called another bridal shop to just order the dress in a size closer to mine. If you need a dress asap, this is your place! If not, you're better off finding somewhere that you can custom order.

Typically, I would not size down, but I was informed why and trusted who I was working with. Sizing down this would mainly affect my waist since it was a size up from the size I had ordered. When I picked up my dress, I tried it on, and it was so tight that I was shallow breathing, could only shuffle my feet and could barely take a step. I was told that after some of the excess fabric would be let out on the sides, then I would feel less constrained. I went to a seamstress who specializes in bridal, with over 60 years of experience, arguably an expert in the field. After my second dress fitting, she let out the fabric, and it was better, but I could still barely walk, and when trying to sit down, I had to have assistance on both sides to fall into the chair. Unfortunately, the fabric is not forgiving and will not stretch much. She said that, with how the dress was specifically made, there was not much else that could be done, and she has never seen a dress made like this in all of her years. I was not planning on having a reception dress, so this was the dress I planned to wear all day. I feel very upset since I will either be very uncomfortable during the day in this dress or will have to get a second dress, which I never planned to do. I would never expect the girls in the store to know how each dress is specifically made, but I would advise others to be cautious when being told to size down.

I had a mixed experience at the Cool Springs location of David's Bridal. While I didn't end up loving anything on my body, the young stylist helping me was very sweet and supportive, which I really appreciated. Since we still had extra time, I asked if it would be possible for my mom to try on a few dresses as well-she's also getting married, and we thought it would be such a special moment if we both found "the dress" together. The stylist checked with Lisa, who I believe is the manager, and although she said yes, it felt very hesitant. The next day, between my other appointments in the area, we came back so my mom could try on dresses. Unfortunately, when we returned, Lisa recognized us and made us feel uncomfortable--like we were wasting her time or not being taken seriously. The looks and comments we received were discouraging and definitely put a damper on what should have been a fun experience. Thankfully, we were paired with JT, who completely turned things around. She was absolutely amazing--kind, attentive, and genuinely helpful. Because of her, my mom ended up saying yes to her dress, which made the day so special after all. IF the Bride did call like they said, why didn't they issue her a refund for the price difference automatically?????Overcharged and did not complete services promised. At alterations appointment, employee zipped a mole, caused injury and bleeding. A month later when picking up dress, that blood was still on the bridal gown. I showed them a picture, asked for it to be in silver, and in the fabrics of my choosing. I also requested a particular train (they added at no extra cost) This was all done via emailing pictures and measurements. They sent me a couple of quick questions to make sure they understood exactly what I was looking for. I paid online, a mere $350 bucks for a full length, multi fabric, custom wedding gown, with shiny - hand sewn detailing. I awaited its arrival with anxiety, as it would not arrive until about a month before my wedding day. (Be warned it does take some time to sew a custom dress!) I fell in love and it fit like a glove. Everyone complimented the dress on its amazing detail and originality. When I told them the story they were amazed. I will most certainly recommend them to an adventurous bride who wants a Haute Couture dress at a fraction of the price!
