I was told it would be another $60 to use the original hem. After trying both pair of pants on, they both were too short. So I basically paid $60 for Nandwani to ruin 2 pairs of pants. I will not be going back. I do not recommend Nandwani to anybody.

Instantly, Linda and her team were welcoming and helpful and committed to helping me save money throughout this process.. So we moved through possible fixes to ensure they were just altering what I needed. They worked so fast and beautifully. In a day of panic where a nearby cleaners service ripped my dress--on a Monday when they are closed, Linda happened to be there (thank you, Jesus!) and hugged me as I cried of stress over this rip. She said we could fix it in just 2 mins. And she did! It was the biggest gift and they made this process so easy, relaxed, and fun. Damaged and overcharged…read more First off, I've been using GHS for years now and have loved them but something has changed. Was told that a pair of elastic in some shorts would be $15, upon pickup was charge $36. She claimed she never gave me a price...not true. Then upon inspection, someone stuck a pin in the silk shorts creating a hole that was attempted to be remedied by steaming it. The hole now sags and looks like a pull. The entire band is sloppy and the elastic already popped. Asking them to remedy the situation was almost comical, staring at a customer blankly is not a suitable response to any issues. I strongly caution anyone taking their garments there unless you prefer to be treated oddly and overcharged for a potentially damaged item.

Attention to detail at a great price…read more I've used Suki's for years for average hemming. Good work at a good price. Last year I found them to be something more. I took in a pair of Kevlar lined motorcycle jeans to be hemmed. (style meets safe cheeks) The pants had a protective / decorative leather piece on the bottom back of the cuffs. It would have to be removed to hem the pants. I told her I didn't care if she put it back on or not, no need to do any extra work. When I picked up the jeans they were hemmed to a perfect fit and she had added the leather piece back and it looked great. She told me, "I was working on them and I thought it looked nice so I put it back on the pants for you, no extra charge" Courteous quick quality every time.

As an everyday person, they made me feel welcomed just as much as they did for what I'd consider their upper echelon of clientele. This is a high-end alterations establishment, and when I needed to get a dress altered for my grandmother's funeral this weekend, they were willing to take on the job despite my being rejected by several other alteration establishments before, as it is wedding season and a lot of alteration places are weeks and even months into working with other people's garments for altering. I did pay dearly for it, but if something had to be fixed on the dress, they did so. I had to return after they turned it around in one day to get the initial dress completely finished, but still time to spare for this weekend. When you go to get alterations, you want to feel valued, welcomed and heard. I felt all of these things when I was here. They set a high bar for customer service. Jeff, the owner, mentioned working with the same seamstress for 38 years! That is wonderful. Jeff also does pet paintings and has various ties, libation recipe books, and other miscellaneous items for sale. I bought a libation recipe book for my husband, and he was really appreciative of it. I thought GREAT now I don't have to take the time to do it myself, even though I am able. Stopped in and a clerk greeted me with a blase (at best) attitude and I told him I just wanted to hem them to a specific inseam measurement and he became quite condescending and argumentative about that stating emphatically they would not be right and that he would not guarantee his work. I was taken aback by his rude and arrogant treatment of customers. Now, I know that hemming is little more than a time consuming task - it'll take me a couple of hours to do a superior job - but it's not difficult even if you do an invisible hem. So I left with my new slacks to hem at home since I CAN guarantee my own quality workmanship. Once I got in the car I remembered that the last time I had patronized that business was at least two decades ago when I ordered two custom mens business shirts for my husband as a Christmas present. They weren't inexpensive. But when they arrived they were very undersized and did not fit even though Stitch It staff had measured for the shirts in house. They acted then much like they acted today that they really wouldn't stand by the quality of their work. Glad I got a free reminder of what kind of business this is this time instead of having wasted money on un-wearable shirts. What a shame to be so miserable in your own skin that you have to go out of your way to make your customers feel uncomfortable and unappreciated.

I've had a couple of things done pretty well at Ericka's, but the bad experiences far outweigh the…read moregood. On multiple garments Ive waited on repairs only to come pick them up at the scheduled time and find that they were not complete. This happened with some surgical cuffs on a jacket I needed shortened. When I dropped it off there was no mention that this was not something they could do. I wait for the alterations to be done to come back and see that the sleeve seems were open and I was told they couldn't do the work. It was something they easily could have mentioned the first time I was there. I was refunded my money on this. Most recently was a ridiculous series of going to get shoulders fixed on a sport jacket that were out of whack from the web based manufacturer. I probably went back and forth to Ericka's 6-8 times on this jacket, ordered shoulder pads as directed, and ultimately was told they could not fix the jacket, weeks later. Two other alterations tailors told me on the spot that they couldn't fix the jacket. That's all I can ask for with respect to an unfixable problem. Tell me up front so I don't waste my time and money. Ericka's did offer to split the cost of a new jacket after it had been hurried back together with thread that doesn't match. I will not waste my time here anymore. If they tell you a date your garment will be ready, add a week or two to that and be prepared to be let down.
