Beth's Burger Bar is a great addition to the Lake Cay Commons restaurant line-up. The burgers and fries were tasty. They also have turkey burgers, veggie burgers and grilled chicken sandwiches. My first time I called in my order and they had it ready pretty quickly. Everything was fine. The next day I decide to go back. I called in my order and they told me it would be a two hour wait and there was a line out the door. I decided to drive by the restaurant and there was not one person in line. I double checked to make sure I called the right one and I had called the correct restaurant. Why lie? I went inside and ordered my food and was told there would be a 15-20 minute wait. I stood off to the side and waited along with another young white girl. After a few minutes one of the workers came up to the white girl and asked if she was waiting on an order and checked on the order for her but didn't pay me any attention even though I was standing right next to her clearly waiting also. After a while the white girl received her order and I was the only one waiting. The cook passes a worker a bag of food that had been sitting on the counter for a few minutes. They probably just forgot to call the name. When the worker gets the bag he walks out from behind the register and looks around . We make eye contact. After he looks for about 10 seconds he turn around and puts the bag in the corner and moves on to the next order. Of course my name was on my food so why did the worker not call it out at least? He just stood there looking around like he was supposed to know who's order it was even though he wasn't the order taker? Why not ask the only person clearly waiting? When I approached him I said "excuse me" multiple times before he actually turned around. Who knows if he was ignoring me or didn't hear me. I asked who the order was for and he said my name. I told him it was mine and he handed it to me with no apology.I mean he didn't even attempt to give this to the right person. I'm not one to play to race card but I definitely felt out of place being a black women in the burger bar. Food was good just wish I didn't have this experience. read more

The fries were great but the burgers were just okay. The fries are the crispy, tasty old-school style. Even better than the Burger King fries of years past. They are what you expect from a dive or drive-in but now there's a small chain that also shows they too can produce great fries. The burger was just mediocre though. Good, but nothing to brag about. Five Guys burgers has this place beat hands down. Prices were average and fair for the amount of food you get. There aren't a whole lot of other establishments around so, if you're staying nearby, you might as well give this place a try. It's good for kids and adults alike. Wisconsin style hamburgers cheese curds we also had the garlic and butter chicken wings which were amazing my wife who is vegan had their in-house veggie burger not to be confused with the beyond burger that they offer as well and it was that's good if not better than a beyond burger and I love the beyond burger. There were no customers in the restaurant at the time (6pm on a Thursday night) and the fellow at the counter taking my order was very patient and cordial. First off your going to pay a lot more for your single patty of crusty baby mush then your meat eating friends. They deep fried my veggie burger... It was just nothing but crusty outside and tasteless oil soaked baby mush on the inside. When the staff came back over I asked her if they deep fried this pour thing and she said "yes do you like it"? "I said no it's oil soaked and not even warm" "this is gross". She (with all her appropriate professional business attire in a crooked hat messy hair and stained shirt) said "well sorry that's how we do it" and walked away. So veggie friends I warn you. You will PAY MORE for nothing when just down the road are much better options for you and your friends.
