I just moved to Edgewood so I figured I would check out the little restaurants in my new neighborhood. My first outing in between unpacking and cleaning was Beth's Burger bar. It is a very retro little place and while they're are some specialized burgers, they allow you to build your own burger right down to the number of patties. Burger meat definitely better and juicier than dry 5-guys. Higher fat content means juice and flavor, cooked on flat top for even char and fat retention. Peanut butter burger would get a 5 star if it came with bacon. Interesting burger and onions provide a touch of sweet, just needs a crunch and salt. I love the location downtown and go there often. Met with friends to try this location instead of fighting down town traffic. The service was ok, not the worst. My burger came out wrong and I told the food runner that. She said they would fix it. By fix it, they just took the tomato slice off and threw on the lettuce that was supposed to be there. There were still seeds and tomato juice on it. The burger was all kinds of messed up. The party wasn't even together and kind of shaped like an awkward McDonald's chicken nugget. Simply amazing burgers. Both my husband and I were extremely pleased. The restaurant is clean. The staff excellent and attentive. My ONLY thing is I wish they offered a cook temperature.....like rare. To be honest, I forgot to ask, so you may get it upon request, I don't know. But it is not offered, at least not to us. Something was off I noticed the buns were not toasted either was my partner's I asked the girl her reply wasn't very appealing "they only do that downtown" after I mentioned this is slightly different then what I had from dt . I like the flavors of the place after a night drinking and what not, but I feel like the place is over priced for the quality of the food and the do a la carte style menu making it even more expensive. I get the veggie burgers with fries and end up paying 12+. Plus when I have a certain question about a specific item on the menus they always just say "idk it already comes premade". Again, I'll go there after hours after a few drinks downtown, but I wouldn't go outta my way to eat there. read more

Heard a lot about this place, so today I finally decided to check it out with my significant other. Staff is super-friendly, and the restaurant has a wonderfully charming atmosphere. Bits of sports memorabilia here and there, a kitschy overall feel, but some of the BEST FOOD I've had in a very long time! The peanut butter burger was decadent and delightful, a well-balanced savory and wonderfully greasy burger. If you must choose just one side, get those fries! Seasoned amazingly, they have Five Guys beat by a country mile in terms of sheer flavor. How did I manage to go so long without these fries in my life? I will most certainly be back, and I'm definitely looking forward to going toe-to-toe with the Double D Challenge! read more

So we came into this cute lil spot! The atmosphere is super cute and relaxing! We saw in the the daily city that it had award winning burgers! So we had to try it! They had Beth's mugs that u can take home for free! They had a order style where u order at the counter and then take a seat and they bring u your food! We ordered a mushroom Swiss burger with Wisconsin cheese curds and I ordered a single burger with the works and fries! Everything is ale cart! The fries where yummy, the cheese curds, well lack there of cheese curds, where still good! U sure don't get a lot curds for $5! When I mentioned it to the server she said I just work here, but u can leave a comment on a card! And then in a professionally ride way was like or I can get my manager! And walked away! I was Like, oh ok! But let's get to the food! The mushroom burger wasn't very flavorful! It didn't taste like a mushroom and Swiss! And the regular burger was just that a regular burger! A little under cooked if u ask me! The buns were also really thick! Which didn't match well with the thinner patty! I could have gotten a burger from a fast food place, for more than half the price but with more flavor! And the saddest part was we paid $20 for two burgers, one order of fries, one Order of cheese curds, and one soda! I think that's a bit much! And I expected more coming from an award winning place! I don't no how I feel about coming back honestly! I wanted to love this place too! Especially because the decor is outstanding and it takes u back to the old days of dives! Normally I've had good experiences here but today I ordered the "special" and was rubbed the wrong way. Had awesome stuff on it except peanut butter. I asked for the special minus the pb and a beer and fries. I was charged more than a dollar more for less ingredients!
