Queso, guacamole, chips and salsa

Betos has pretty good Tex Mex food. Having tried other Austin establishments, and being from Houston, it didn't blow me away, but we had a nice time. The fajitas were good, but not out of this world. The queso was lacking in flavor. The drinks were solid. Nothing blew us away Our sever was fine. Our waters were kept relatively full, and the food came out fairly quickly. We were on a timeline, so, it was nice to not have to wait too long for our food or check. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We visited on a Saturday night, and even with plenty of college football games on and a holiday weekend, the restaurant was pretty dead. It wasn't a lively or exceptionally fun/inviting ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There were 4 of us, and we did get drinks and appetizers, and fajitas, but we quickly ran out of table space.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Some tips: Ask for extra green salsa. This has quite the kick, and if you get the queso, add green salsa for some much needed flavor. Also, the beerita was delicious. You can choose the cervesa, and the bitterness from the beer perfectly cuts the sweet margarita. Cheers!!

Delicious & generous portions. Reasonably priced menu. Good service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Recently updated seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My fave is the Monterey Chicken with charro beans & side of green salsa. Fresh white corn tortillas. They also have an all day breakfast menu.

I really like the beef fajitas quesadillas. The barbacoa tacos have a lot of meat in them. Not bad. Could use more salt. Take outs are fast. Ambiance is like a typical Mexican restaurant, but on the plain side.

So... been watching Ted Lasso recently and I've got to say Beto's service is like "Total Service" as we had a great waitress, but every time we needed something there was someone there taking care of us... more chips *boom* refill on water *boom* napkins *boom*. I had the Al Pastor Gordita and it was delicious and just the right amount of crispy to masa-y ratio. Kiddos had beef fajitas (yummy) and the 5 mini taco plate (filled up on 2) and my wife had an amazingly tasty tortilla soup. Bill was just north of $50... not bad for dinner for 4 with enough leftovers for 3 lunches.

Ok. The Enchiladas de Espinaca hits like pure cheesy glory. And I was so wrapped up in eating I forgot to take a photo. Wait, I lied. THE STAFF IS FIGHTING OVER BEATLES VS CLAPTON and then someone played the Abbey Road Medley. I think I live here now.

This place is so customer service friendly and so delicious food. Bar area with lots of choices of drinks. A must try restaurant.

We had such a good experience with Beto's that we are going to try it again. I had the carne asada enchiladas covered with chili con queso and it was heaven. I only ate half so got to enjoy it twice! My husband got the chicken flautas and cleaned his plate. The guacamole was very good though not great but only because I doctor mine up more and not everyone likes that. I get it. The Mexican martini was wonderful. Chips and salsa were on point.

The 5 star rating is factoring in easy parking/convenient location, great service, good food, and low cost. We have gone to Beto's now about half a dozen times since it transitioned from "Jalepeno's" It is very similar to the previous restaurant, which we liked. In fact, I wonder if the regulars who have been coming here for years even realize it changed ownership? We often come on a weekend morning for breakfast, and have had dinner on a few occasions, including Valentine's Day! The food is consistently good. Honest, humble Mexican fair - tacos, burritos, enchiladas, migas, etc, etc. In my opinion it's as good, and in some cases better than similar Mexican restaurants (of which there are many around here). I would say Beto's excels in service (always friendly and attentive), and in consistency of the food. As far as the food, pictures of the various dishes we've had should appear below this review. They are generous with the chips and salsa. Salsa is good, chips are standard, but fine. Breakfast tacos are very good. They are also pretty massive. I would say 2 breakfast tacos from here would be as filling as 3 to 4 at some other restaurants. We've had chorizo egg & cheese, potato egg & cheese, and bacon egg & cheese. The Burrito dish is good, but may not be quite as large as some other restaurants (but decent). If you get an appetizer or nosh on a good amount of chips and salsa, you'd probably be fine. Not a complaint, just an observation. Other dishes like enchiladas and nachos are also really good. When I order nachos, I usually get a half-order, because even that's more food than I can eat. Potatoes served with the excellent breakfast dishes could be crispier. I'll ask next time for "extra-crispy" and see what they say. I'd be shocked if they didn't enthusiastically accommodate such a request because of how good the service has proven to be over multiple visits. Ultimately, service here is easily 5-stars. Food is probably 3 1/2 to 4, so 4 1/2 stars would be appropriate in my opinion, factoring in the low cost of dining here. We typically get out of here with an ~$18 bill for two. You can't give 4 1/2 stars so I'm rounding up to 5 stars.

I really like going there. But I like a soft drink with my meal . 4.50 for a drink is to much.

So we were thinking of tacos or Mexican food and my daughter suggested this spot as she had come here with some friends and really enjoyed their sopecitos. I had never had a sopecito! What is that! So we had to try... We were lucky to arrive at the right time (9 pm!) where we got their last table!! Make reservations or something because this is another one of those places that fills up! So- we were taken care of immediately: chips and some very hot salsas were set on the table while we chose. They menu is in QR code format, but we asked and got paper menus as well. Well I got the chicken sopecitos , my daughter got the pork ones and my partner got the meat tacos. Everything was delicious, the food arrived promptly, the portion size was perfect and bountiful and everything was super enjoyable. I really enjoyed trying some New Mexican favorites. Next time I will try some other delicacies since I always get tacos tacos burritos or quesadillas: time for some new items on the menu! Enjoy!

Music was so loud in the back room areas that you could not even have a conversation with others at your table. When I asked to have the music turned down, I was ignored. Dishes were on the pricer side. We won't be back.

Varied menu. Daily special/additions. Everything you might want in an interior Mexican restaurant. Frozen margaritas are world class ... best anywhere! The Miguel platter is a wonderful way to start off. Guacamole is best in town. Tasty lamb chops. Must have black beans! I had the pork chop which is a treat! My wife had crab enchiladas, a special, and said they were delicious (with suiza sauce). Beef dishes were a hit too. Tres leeches and flan were well received and the vanilla ice cream and latte were a great end to a wonderful dining experience.

Too much sauce, and it completely drowned out the taste of the crab. My dad got the ancho relleno San Miguel, and I was so jealous. His dish was absolutely divine, incredibly good. I wish I'd ordered that instead. We tried both the watermelon margarita and the house frozen margarita. The watermelon was delicious, but it came in a small glass with a huge ice cube, so for the price you really don't get much drink. I'd order it again if it came in a bigger glass. The house frozen margarita, though, was delicious and strong, and much better value. For dessert, we had the crepas de cajeta. It was tasty, but it came topped with a generous amount of Nutella, which surprised me since the menu mentions caramel, not Nutella. I'd have preferred the caramel, and I'm guessing they may have run out, which would explain the swap. I just wish they'd mentioned it before serving it, since it changed the dish for me. Overall, a great experience and we will definitely be back.
