We went to Casa Garcia's on Wm Cannon for a family dinner, and it was a bit off the mark this experience. It was very busy and we added our name to the waitlist to get a table. We didn't have to wait long, approximately 10 minutes and we were seated in the back dining area. I split the beef fajitas with my mom, which were decent once everything was finally on the table. Grilled Beef fajitas meat served grilled with onions and bell peppers on a hot skillet. Sides include guacamole, pico de gallo, shredded cheese, Mexican rice, and refried beans. Three homemade flour or corn tortillas per person with sizzling fajitas. The tortillas are made fresh and are the highlight of the meal. The flavor was solid, but the overall experience was slowed down by service issues. Our food arrived without flour tortillas, which are pretty essential for fajitas, and it took a while to get them brought over. So the food was a bit cold by the time we received the order. One of the kids' meals was also missing a piece of bacon, which added to the feeling that things weren't fully checked before coming out of the kitchen. Getting the check at the end also took longer than expected. The atmosphere was lively, but the mariachi band was a bit loud and made it hard to have a normal conversation at the table. Overall, the food was okay, but the service and pacing took away from the experience. It might be better for a casual, loud group outing than a relaxed family dinner. read more

I came here for breakfast yesterday and had a great experience. I really like that you can order from the lunch menu during breakfast hours. I ordered the Numero Uno Combo plate, and it was really good. Our server was attentive, checked on us several times, and kept our drinks refilled throughout the meal. I was wrong about Casa Garcia's.... This is one of the closer TexMex restaurants to our house. I always thought of their food as being marginal. I never really was excited to go there, but did to change things up. However, I've now tried their Enchiladas Mexicanas and the Chicken Mole. So good. Their guajillo and mole sauces are fantastic. Highly recommend! Plus there's a small mariachi band on Friday evenings, and the staff are great! read more

I love casa gracias for a super yummy traditionally Mexican breakfast!! I've come here many times with my parents when looking for a big, yummy breakfast and have not been disappointed once. I've gotten tacos, chilaquiles, enchiladas, etc. and every single thing I've gotten has been super delicious, the waitresses are super super nice and friendly and there's even a panadería next door! They have all types of aguas in the morning like agua de Jamaica, piña, etc. and they're all super delicious! First time here and we were very impressed! The food was absolutely delicious! The crispy yellow corn chips were fresh and perfectly paired with the amazing salsa. The authentic flour tortillas were hands down the best I've had in Austin! Some of the best salsa I've had in Austin! We made a last minute decision to try this place after driving by many times. We went on a Monday night and were able to be seated immediately. The staff was kind and explained what the different sauces for the enchiladas were when I asked, and were very quick to refill our drinks / chips & salsa when we needed. We loved the vibe of the interior with the decorations and handmade tortillas right as you walk in. The food was good (we each got enchiladas - the shrimp enchiladas had a thick sour cream sauce, and the enchiladas favorito was a nice mix of options to try, with the chicken & green sauce being my personal favorite), but the standout was the chips & salsa. Hubby and I wanted something different from our usual Friday spot, so we ventured into Austin and headed to Casa Garcia's on Wm Cannon. We enjoyed Casa G's when's we lived in Kyle and were delighted that this was just as good if not better. It's a sprawling establishment with lots of tables spread between three dining areas. Mariachis were playing live music. The place was packed but we were seated right away. Our waiter was friendly and efficient. The house margaritas were tasty and loaded (even my small rita had a good amount of tequila in it). Tortilla chips were warm and crispy and the salsa was on point. We both ordered the Numero Uno which included 2 cheese enchiladas, a crispy beef taco, a cup of queso, guacamole scoop, rice and beans. Everything was delicious! We also ordered flour tortillas which are made in house and the best I've had in Austin. We will be making the trip into town for Casa G's! read more

Went to casa Garcia's yesterday and I have not been in a couple years. Lots of new employees, but they are all just as helpful. And as nice as I remember! One of my favorite things about Casa Garcia is the fresh made tortillas. They are always playing upbeat Cumbias or Spanish music that is easy to listen to and not too loud. When I go I usually get casa g's numeral Uno plate and that's what I got again yesterday! One crispy Taco two cheese enchiladas and some chips and queso. Invited by two friends; they bought Menudo. We waited literally for one hour for the food. I ordered chicken mole.-- it was cold although their Menudo was wonderful according to my friends. The waiter didn't come out and apologize or explain to us what was going or why things were taking so long despite their being very busy! understandable , but that does not excuse the lack of customer service that we received from the staff. The drinks were strong, but the sweet & sour mixture they used for the regular frozen margaritas tasted artificial so I'd recommend getting a flavored marg (the blueberry was great!) They don't have a drink menu on the website OR in person - I asked the bartender, the host and the server for the drink menu and none could share one with me???? Honestly, that's a bit ridiculous. Mmmmmm so good! We love going to Casa Garcia's for dinner with friends and coworkers, but this time, we were in the neighborhood for breakfast. Their breakfast menu was better than expected. The flour tortillas are made in-house and very soft. The tacos were stuffed generously. The coffee kept coming. The service was very friendly and attentive. She answered our questions and checked on us. We did not feel rushed at all and enjoyed the meal experience. Absolutely Not, the Austin William Cannon location was terrible tonight! Warning - This Restaurant DOES NOT turn on their air conditioning! All the ceiling fans running full blast should have been a clue as we sat down at our well-worn and questionably clean table for dinner. Chips and salsa were served after waiting a while for a server. Water and drinks took quite a while afterwards. At least the salsa was spicy. We ordered sizzling fajita plates, one steak and one chicken. We ordered extra tortillas, one flour and one corn. My son had a large margarita, and it was large and good. The fajitas showed up without tortillas, served by a wide-eyed gentleman that spoke no English. We looked around for a server, with none to be found. Eventually another gentleman showed up with tortillas, again speaking no English. He sat there clueless as we tried to find out why we received two orders of flour tortillas. The server finally showed up, and my adult son also asked where the corn tortillas might be. She saucily snapped that one was corn and one was flour. He asked how to tell them apart, and she rudely said she was Mexican and could tell them apart. That does not help the customer have any confidence, not how to tell them apart in the future. With that treatment and no AC (the thermostat said it was 83F on the way out), it is guaranteed we will not return. I have never seen a restaurant in Austin with no AC in the 5.5 years I have been here. When it came down to the quality of the fajitas, the grilled onions and peppers had the only flavor on the plates. The beef had no taste or marinade you could detect.
