El pata salada - Chips and Bean Dip

First time visiting this spot after my coworker and I were in the area, and she had been raving…read moreabout it. I'm glad we arrived before the lunch rush because it was nice and quiet until around noon. The real standout was the bean dip served hot with chile verde sauce. It was so good and definitely a must-try. Since we got there about half an hour early, we kept snacking on the chips and bean dip, and honestly, it was hard to stop. I ordered the lunch special with shredded beef flautas. For $11.99, it was a solid deal and pretty tasty. I can be a tough critic, especially when it comes to Mexican food, so that says a lot. I can see why this restaurant was voted one of the best Mexican restaurants in Kings County in 2025. It's definitely worth checking out. Service may not be the most enthusiastic, but the food more than made up for it. Overall, a delicious spot I'd come back to again.

We had fish tacos and shrimp enchiladas, both grilled (breaded is another option). Enchiladas are available either "Mexican style or regular," so I enjoyed one of each. All very good, including the accompanying rice and beans on our lunch specials. We had a side of bean dip with our tortilla chips, and it was so flavorful I was tempted to eat the whole cup as a soup. It reminded me of a thick tortilla soup. The lunch special is a great deal. Dinner prices are more typical, but some include a salad and tortillas. A worthwhile stop right off highway 198, between Lemoore and Hanford.

Taqueria La Esquinita in Armona has been my go-to taco spot for years. The moment you walk in,…read moreyou'll hear nonstop chopping--it's loud, busy, and honestly part of the charm. Trust me, the tacos are worth it. I grabbed a horchata, which was refreshing and paired perfectly with the food. I ordered a potato, tripa and cabeza taco and asked for the meat on the softer side. The potato taco was crispy, topped with cabbage and sour cream. The potato itself could've used a little more salt, but the salsa brought everything together. The two other tacos were packed, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. You can barely hold them together, and the salsa was spicy enough that one small container lasted all three tacos. Not many taco spots serve tripas, and even fewer do them well--but this place gets it right. The meat cuts are thick, full of flavor, and they're always willing to customize your order. This is my favorite taco spot in the area if you're looking for authentic street tacos. If you're in Armona and haven't tried La Esquinita, you're missing out.

This location is the place to go for stuff tacos. Their taco's are always pack with meat. So it…read moreget's very filling. AL PASTOR TACO : It's very seasoned. So it does get pretty salty. The seasoning taste like a bit tomatoey and lots of papi seasoning. It's not the best al pastor but its good. RATE : 4/5 ASADA TACO : Today asada taco is very chewy and springy. It has a lot of tendons so it's a bit hard to chew it. But all of the other times that I had their asada taco always taste great. It's cook to where their's still juice and hot. Their seasoning on this asada is just a light seasoning of salt and some other seasoning. It's light to where you can't really taste the seasoning but this asada goes really well with the taco. RATE : 4/5 SERVICE : is great! Always fast and friendly on taking orders. They do take a couple minute to make all the tacos. They only chop per order to keep the meat fresh, hot and juicy. I asked/bought extra sauce on the side but they forgot to put it in my bag. RATE : 4/5 CONS : Sometime their meat consistnecy is not always the best; cold, or a bit chewy/springy. They do charge sides condiments and sauces in a cup. AMBIANCE : it's a bit stuffy and hot in there. They don't have the best ac in there so it does it hot during the day time. The tables and floor are always clean. There's always guest in the store but it's pretty quiet with music on. RATE : 4/5 OVERALL : If you feel like getting full, this is the place to go. Their tacos are always pack with meat! Other than that their tacos are always hot and taste pretty good. Another note is to check your bags before leaving bc they do forget to give your extra condiments that you paid for. It happens to me a couple time already. SIDE NOTES : They only sell consume on the weekends.
