Food is consistently good! Betsy's is one of our favorite places to eat and an eclectic, iconic restaurant in the area. Highly recommend!

The town is absolutely lovely, and this restaurant itself is charming. The staff was friendly, and we genuinely wanted to enjoy our experience. However, if you need to eat gluten-free due to a medical condition like Celiac disease, please be very, very cautious. Although this establishment claims to offer gluten-free options, there seems to be a concerning lack of understanding of what "gluten-free" actually requires. I asked detailed questions before ordering and was assured that my selection was safe. After the food arrived--and after I had already started eating--I was then informed that while the crepe itself was gluten-free, the filling was not. That kind of distinction should be clearly communicated upfront, especially when a customer specifically asks about gluten-free options. Unfortunately, the same situation happened with my daughter, who also has celiac. To make matters worse, we were charged for both the incorrect meals and the replacements. In hindsight, I should have asked for a manager, but we were there to visit with a friend and I didn't want to make a scene. Our total for three people ended up being over $80 with the tip I still left. I understand that eating out always carries risk when you have dietary restrictions, and I ALWAYS try to approach it with patience and kindness. We were traveling, so we didn't have much choice. But if a restaurant says they offer gluten-free items, there needs to be a basic understanding (by the wait staff AND the kitchen cooks) of ingredients and clear communication. What should have been a fun outing turned into a weekend of being very sick. Just something to be aware of if you have to eat gluten-free for health reasons - this is probably not the spot for you. read more

Went for my birthday. Ordered my usual, the peach Bellini carafe and the monte cristo crepe and substituted grits as my side. Everything was amazing and if you've had Betsy's grits you already know they are the absolute best you'll find in Moore county. This restaurant sits on the corner in the beautiful downtown area of Southern Pine, NC. The food was absolutely beyond my expections. Service from our waiter was incredible. Everyone was super friendly. I absolutely enjoyed the beauty of the restaurant as a whole. They close at 3 so I would definitely recommend getting there early. We were lucky to find this place on Labor Day as it was one of the only lunch places open in downtown Southern Pines. It is a gem of a restaurant with a variety of breakfast, lunch or sweet crêpes among other food items. It was so good for lunch that we came back the next day for a breakfast crêpe. The lavender almond milk latte was creamy and delicious. I ordered the La Popeye without bacon and it was full of veggies on the inside. My husband ordered the corned beef hash with the egg white option and said it was very good. I highly recommend their salad as their homemade apple vinegar dressing is amazing and I loved the pickled onions on top. A fun breakfast place. We all 3 got crepes. I had the veggie with goat cheese which was good. You can choose from different batters that are not listed on the menu. A cute and clean dinner. What can I say that hasn't already been said about how good Betsy's Crepes is? The food is amazing. I can't believe I haven't stopped by this place, well, except that every weekend the place has a long line. So my pro tip is to go during the week sometime around lunch. No wait, lots of seating. It's got a nice French vibe. They even serve alcohol so I could order my Irish coffee (yippie!). Highly recommend during the week, unless you mind waiting in line, but the food and ambience are worth it! And the prices are right, very reasonable. read more

This is my second time here and I can honestly say that you have to go during the week. If you go on the weekend, I promise you'll be waiting. The restaurant is so cute and gives total diner vibes. The crêpes were creative and outstanding, the service was quick and efficient, and the atmosphere was very cool. The only drawback, if I could find one, is that it's busy so it's loud. Small space in the area when we arrived on a Monday. It was a negative because almost every store and restaurant was closed. But, we found Betsy's Crepes and decided to have lunch. When we arrived, someone at the counter said there were no tables, but when I asked how long the wait was, she didn't know. I said, well we will grab seats at the bar. So, this was ok, until servers went by and threw dirty dishes and glasses into a bin on the other side of the counter. It was very load and things were splashing out at us. We were disgusted by this, so as tables opened up we asked to move. Finally a little more comfortable. Food was tasty, enjoyed the savory crepes and a cheese danish to go. Let me start by saying I absolutely LOVE Betsy's. It's honestly one of my favorite restaurants in NC. My issue, however, is that I live 45 minutes away, and this is now the 3rd or 4th time in the past few months that I have driven all the way there during their regularly posted hours, and I am turned away at the door because they decided to close early. They do not update their Google hours or post on any social media when they do this, they just put a sign on the door. Yesterday, I got there at 1pm because their hours are normally until 3pm, and I was turned away when I walked in. (They did have a hand-written sign posted on the door that they were closing at 1, but I didn't see it.) This has just been wildly frustrating that it's happened so often (one time was even on my birthday). I decided to go back today because I want my crepe fix, so I called before I went, and the person who answered the phone, I kid you not, said "yes why wouldn't we be?" when I asked if they were open their normal hours. I feel like I'm being punk'd, and I am skipping Betsy's for now, not wasting any more gas. Moral of the story: if you are driving a bit of a ways to go to Betsy's, definitely call first because they like to be open whatever hours they want, regardless of the posted hours. read more

Love this place! The decor is antiquey and fun. I enjoy an eclectic look and this is perfectly done. My daughter had the lavender/vanilla latte and enjoyed every drop. I had the hot chocolate which was a 10 out of 10...it was so delicious. My parfait crepe was delicious and I would get it again and again. My husband had the egg bowl and enjoyed it. It was delicious, did a side of fries (Pommes frites), which were also tasty, just a tad too much salt. Wife went with a Panini, she enjoyed it. We visited Southern Pines from Georgia and had to try Betsy's Crepes! It is a bustling place for breakfast! We chose to sit in one of their booths. Laura, our waitress, was amazing! She offered us great breakfast suggestions. I got the basic crepe with eggs, cheese and bacon! My husband got the Joan of Arc crepe. Our entire group loved our food! This is a great place to come on Monday when everything else is closed. It's kind of like a battlefield. You come in and run to a foxhole table and pray that someone comes and takes your order. We recently revisited Betsy's for the first time in many years and had a great experience. We have been going since it opened. They have really settled into a good groove and are deserving of local legend status. Despite that, we found the prices were very good and service remained wonderful. On the whole, this makes for a great value. Ambiance is small-town cafe / house restaurant. It's quirky and can be a bit loud, but we like it. This is the most requested breakfast/brunch spot in our house. We live an hour away and will drive just for the food. We've tried more than just their crepes too. The French toast is amazing. If your meal comes with sourdough bread, ask for the raspberry butter. Or just get a side of bread and raspberry butter. I don't know why it took me so long to ask for my own, as I used to steal some from who ever ordered it at the table. I could slather that stuff on most anything. But their crepes - oh man! So soft and delicate. We're suckers for the sweet ones, but they have savory options as well. The restaurant is filled to the brim with tables, so if you don't like crowds, this is not the place for you. We traveled from Fayetteville to try out this restaurant for breakfast and it did not disappoint. We were seated immediately and served drinks. The food took a little longer to arrive but it was well worth the wait. I forgot to take pictures before we started eating. I had the raspberry blintz with scrambled eggs and cheese. My daughter had their simple crepe with eggs and avocado toast. We both loved our meal. They also serve lunch and dinner crepes which we can't wait to come back and try.
