We genuinely enjoyed our dinner at Shipwreck Raw Bar. One bonus is that they're open on Sundays, which isn't always easy to find in the area. We started with the Bee Sting Shrimp and a basket of hush puppies, then all ordered the gumbo for our main course. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The Rum Runners and piña coladas were outstanding and some of our favorite drinks of the trip. The service was good--friendly and attentive--but didn't particularly stand out. The atmosphere is casual, laid-back, and family-friendly. We noticed several families dining with children, making it a comfortable spot for groups of all ages. They also have a few larger tables, so if you're looking for a restaurant in Mexico Beach or Port St. Joe that can accommodate a bigger group, this is a great option. Would give this place 5 stars for the incredible food, but unfortunately, because of the service my boyfriend and I received tonight, I can't. We waited around 20 minutes for a table, grabbed two beers from the bar, and sat outside while we waited. Once seated, we were "greeted" by our server, and that interaction set the tone for the rest of the evening. She was rude, short, and overall unpleasant. She never checked in after any course, seemed uninterested in our experience, and at times even slammed food onto the table. Every interaction felt rushed, and as soon as she came by, she was quick to disappear. It felt like she had no concern for our satisfaction throughout the meal. We had planned on staying for dessert and another round of drinks, but honestly felt uncomfortable doing so. When we asked for a box, she already had the check in hand. While I understand wanting to be efficient and prepared, given her attitude throughout the night it came across more like she was trying to rush us out than provide good service. The food truly was excellent, which makes the experience even more disappointing. Unfortunately, we did not get her name, but she was blonde and wearing a pink shirt. Shipwreck is my favorite restaurant in port st Joe. I planned an entire trip down just to revisit. They have the best oysters. In off season it's pretty quiet and easy to get a table, but go early or prepare to wait in the summer months. I like that you can get a variety of local beers, as well! read more

Really busy with good service. Macie took great care of us and breakfast really hit the spot. Had fried eggs with country ham. Very cheerful & loud. Mid morning is wide open on weekends. Great place for breakfast if you don't have a hangover with banging headache! LOL read more

Been coming to here for ages this was a must stop every time we are in town. The oyster sampler was a standout from the very first bite--each shell offered a refreshing taste of the sea, perfectly chilled and briny without being overpoweringly salty. The variety kept each oyster intriguing, and the natural texture was just right--plump and satisfying. We had the port st joe beach, four cheese and the cajun. Hush puppies was fried to a golden crisp, boasted a beautifully crunchy exterior encasing a tender, flavorful center. They struck a flawless balance--not overly greasy, but rich and comforting--pairing wonderfully with seafood. It was savory and heavy on the onions. The oysters shine for their freshness and thoughtful curation, while the hushpuppies deliver on classic Southern charm with expert frying technique. The gumbo was not my favorite tased a lot of msg and it wasn't warm or hot when I got it. Also the texture was way off it was like okra texture every bite. My friends enjoyed the crab dip and shrimp they said it tasted good and not rubbery. I do wish they bring back their smoked mahi-mahi dip. Service was A+++ great experience and London the waitress was amazing attentive and at the same time gives you time to enjoy your meal. The place can get loud specially if they are packed. Incredible food. We ordered the crab claws sautéed with lemon butter garlic sauce, hush puppies, grouper treasure, and stuffed grouper. Every bit of it was superb. Service was great regardless of her being extremely busy. Everything got to our table in a timely manner. And once again, the food was outstanding. This is our first time coming to port st Joe and we will be back with coming back to Shipwreck in mind! Thanks for a great meal. read more

Wonderful place. The shrimp and grouper dishes were just terrific. Very flavorful, fresh, hand dipped shrimp... grilled grouper was also super flavorful and the chef's special grouper was so good. Party of 10 on a Friday night. Many other large parties weren't there when called and we were seated much sooner than our quoted time. We brought in our own catch and they did it up three ways for us. The charge for your own catch was $14.99 and they did a wonderful job. The restaurant is super loud and they speed you in and out. I read how people felt rushed, but that was ok with us. I would rate the food and service as 5 stars. The noise and rushed nature are a three. Probably a lot more chill at times other than 7:30 on a Friday in June. Will be back next time we are here! read more

We were recommended this establishment at another restaurant. We arrived at the parking lot was full, a great sign. We sat at the bar due to a wait of 45 minutes for a table. I had the Pina Colada to drink. It was pretty good. My wife had the shrimp & Grits for her entree and I had the blackened grouper with the crab cake on top with hushpuppies for a side. Both the entrees were a 9-9.5 out of ten. We shared a piece of Key Lime Pie for dessert, one of the best I've ever eaten. Our waitress Nicole was very arrive to our needs. The shipwrecks ambiance is right in line with being on the beach. The waitresses had on the bars tshirts with quirky saying on the back. The food was so good we are going back tonight to try some other entrees and another piece of Key Lime Pie!!! read more

The food is so good that we ate four meals there over Labor Day weekend. The fried grouper and the fried shrimp are the best! Crab cakes were not the best (too much breading). And I wasn't happy with the crab bisque (thin, milky, too much nutmeg and not enough crab meat). BUT if you like your seafood fried, this is the place. Service was fantastic every day! Still not happy about the lady in the kitchen yelling everytime an order came up, it seems like technology could fix that. read more

We stayed in the area 4 nights and ate here 3 times, twice for dinner/happy hour and once for lunch. Incredible Apalachicola wild (HUGE) AND farmed (saltier and smaller) oysters with some of the best shuckers you'll find. We had great service sitting at the bar. Bee sting shrimp were delish, as was the bay scallop appetizer special. One night we splurged for dessert and the warm brownie with ice cream was to die for. 7-layer chocolate cake also great. They serve breakfast too, which we didn't try but I'm sure it's awesome. Kinda the only game in town but they're crushing it. Yum!! Don't miss the sunset across the street. read more

If I could give ZERO STARS I would. Wait was 1.5hr. OK... It's busy, I'm fine with the wait. So, I sit at the bar for drinks while I wait. Nope... I was told that I can't wait at the bar & I have to sit outside. WTF, I'm a paying customer?!?! So, I wait outside. Then they finally get us seated. We waited over 15min & our server never checked on us. No water... No hello. I will NEVER eat here. I will tell everyone to NEVER eat here. I'm so mad I didn't make it back to Shipwreck for another meal. My daughter and I grabbed a bite at the bar to avoid the wait time. We got Cajun shrimp and crab legs. Ended up ordering more shrimp to take home and even my wife said it was the best shrimp she's had in a long time. Just simple, fresh and well seasoned. I wish I got the bartender's name because she was so friendly and helpful with my daughter's questions (she was set on trying something new just to get crab legs again ). The place itself is a lively raw bar. They do a good job with the table layout but they get busy. When they have a wait, they do not take carry out orders. There's a good chance you'll see a line formed before they open for dinner. If the wait is less than an hour and you want good seafood, just be patient! read more

The food was delicious. One had a breakfast meal others had fried oysters, raw oysters and gumbo. The only complaint we had was our server. She was rude and short to us immediately. Did not know what flavors of seltzer were available and was not going to look. Asked for lemons for the oyster. She snarkilly said yea ok but never brought them. We had to ask another server. We are super friendly people, have been in the business for many years and are more lenient than others who have never been in the business. We were excited to go there and the food did not disappoint. However, we will make sure we do not get the same server. I hope someone in Management reads this. read more

Visited twice! Breakfast was PHENOMENAL. Had the Wewa Eggs Benedict and cheese grits. DELICIOUS. My waiter/bartender was Noah and he was very kind and made me feel right at home. It was my birthday and he went above and beyond with service. Stated he was new to the establishment and I never would have guessed it! The entire staff team worked together well and it was an atmosphere! Highly recommend if you're looking for a great breakfast spot with home cooked food! The name says it all! Our waitress was sweet, but that was where the good ended. Firstly, the prices were $10.00 more than the review menus, which were several. Ordered the grilled mahi. It was a decently large piece of fish, but it was overcooked. As only a fork is supplied, I requested a knife. She kindly brought me a steak knife. Now, I have eaten mahi a lot, but never needed a knife to cut fish. The steak knife barely cut it. 2 of the sides were stone cold as well. For the price, they should have done better. Came here for breakfast/brunch. The service was good and staff was friendly. It was a very welcoming atmosphere. We ordered the Spicy Sailor Omelet & Strawberry Waffle. We are here on a Monday night and while the service was excellent the food was just average. The Caesar salad was pretty terrible. The dressing was tasty but the lettuce was Way over dressed and there was about 1/8 a 1/4 # of Parmesan shavings in it, there was almost more cheese than lettuce - way too much. The blackened shrimp were very good and the baked potato was decent. My wife had a blackened poor boy. The bread was very dry and not a lot of flavor on the chicken. Overall it was a pretty ordinary experience but we will try again next time we're in town and on a busier night. read more

Went here 2x during our stay. Both times it was busy, but our party of 6 was sat promptly. The environment is very noisy. The customers, music and open Kitchen all contributed to this. The servers were efficient but sometimes misheard a request or missed it completely. However, they recovered quickly and were attentive to make things right. It was very busy, so patience helps! Can't say enough about this place. For the record, we were a group of 8. First, our server (Vicki) was fantastic. On point, we never waited on anything we needed! She was attentive, knowledgeable and fun to banter back and forth. Second, our food was delicious! The guys ordered the low country boil. One ordered Cajun, the other hot. Both LOVED it!
